I went to Brownies Restaurant in Yuma today I had the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. My wife had the House Special Omelette. My breakfast tasted like it was left over from two or three days ago, the meat tasted like it was old and just shy of being burnt and spoiled. . My wife's House Special was just shy of being burnt and almost not eatable. I remember going to Brownies Restaurant with my father in law in the 1990's and we always received a great meal. Busy today. Country Cafe feel. Not very welcoming. No one greeted us, even when seated. (- ) They all looked upset .. Not sure what happened since the last time we went there... downgraded.. Chocolate milk is instant, & barely warm. Orange juice was sour(expired!! How they didn't serve it to anyone else) waitress seemed to be annoyed and not care and it took 5 minutes to return with a soda ‍. I understand busy, but obviously they didn't have it together. Rushing don't make things better. (-) Biscuits was too dense, gravy too thick and pasty, and didn't taste "right".. something missing .. omelets dish was good and so were sides of bacon and fruit cup. Service for the 8 of us was sweet as we arrived for an early breakfast. Not only did my order of Everything's Omelete (with hash browns and toast) and coffee satisfying, but our drinks were filled without asking. My sister and I were in town to do the tube float on the river. We stopped at Brownie's for breakfast. I love finding an old diner that's been in the community for years, this was it. They were busy and we still got seated quickly and had excellent service. I had the ground beef with scrambled eggs and toast with hash browns. My sister had scrambled eggs and hash browns. First time visiting after hearing great reviews, and overall it was a great experience. I had the Wrangler Breakfast and really enjoyed it--everything was cooked well and flavorful. While the chorizo and eggs weren't our favorite, the rest of the meal made up for it, and we really appreciated that they refunded our money. I got the French toast it came with 4 halved slices of French toast, two eggs which I requested for cheese on top, and two sausage patties. The food was terrible. A bowl of tomato soup with a pile of macaroni on top and it's supposed to be minestrone? I don't think so. Chicken fried steak was tougher than the sole of my shoe and it delaminated from the breading. The service was good but the quality and preparation of the food was terrible. Stopped in with crew for a Sunday Brunch. First time at Brownie's Cafe and was not disappointed!. Place was packed with locals and we were quickly seated. Brownie's has been around since 1946. Great breakfast selections. I had the the steak and eggs with the 6 ounce sirloin. The place is decorated old school and what you would expect for a Cafe. The hash browns were crispy, the biscuit was fresh out of the oven. The steak and eggs were very good. Everyone was a happy camper. Prices were reasonable. We have now stopped at Brownies Café on several trips between Tucson and San Diego. While , not conveniently right off I-8 it's definitely worth a short drive through Yuma to get to the café. Your visit will certainly take you back to an old time family run Café that serves good abundant amounts of food at a very decent price. While the inside and outside of the café are nothing memorable, it is comfortable inside once you're seated. Expect to get to know your neighbors though because the tables are very close together. If you sit at the breakfast counter, likewise, the seats are right on top of one another. It's well worth it though for the food and price. As an example, two pancakes with two eggs, your choice of either bacon or sausage was only $10.50. That's either Link or Patty sausage too. The wait staff, while I don't want to describe as ancient, they certainly are able to collect Social Security. Expect to see lots of locals because they know where to find the deals. You'll certainly find us at Brownies Café while we're traveling between San Diego and Yuma. read more

I Love Brownies Corned Beef Hash and eggs! They are happy to switch out the side of hashbrowns for an extra egg. Each employee seems to know at least one customer or more by name each time we are there! Good food hot coffee refills keep coming. Friday nights are busy! Although the Cod Fish Fry is the big draw the other special, Stew and cornbread is good too! We are still a little uncertain if the dessert is included with the dinner or not... sometimes they've just brought it. The fish is a bit chewy for my taste. If you want cocktail sauce for it mention it as you order. They will mix it up fresh. Otherwise their tartar sauce is good! Liver and Onions was a good meal 7/10 again happy to substitute for a healthier meal... tomato's and mixed veggies! Iced tea here is excellent! Very fresh always! Kiddo opted for the tuna sandwich! So here it was on a early Sunday morning and we were looking for a breakfast place in Yuma, and we found Brownie's Cafe. We found Brownie's by chance and as we turned into the parking lot our first thought was how big is this place? The parking lot was almost full and and the place looked small from the outside. So we walked in and the restaurant looked packed, oh my are we going to wait? This lady came up to us to ask how many and we motioned to her we were a party of four. She told us, you can sit here or there, sure enough there was a table for us. We sat down at our table and started to read the menu and first thing I said to myself that is a lot of food. You could tell that a lot of the locals are frequent customers as everyone knew the lady and were having various conversations with Jinny, who we recognized the name on her apron. I got coffee with my eggs, hash browns, bacon and biscuit with gravy. Others had the steak with eggs, another had the pancakes with bacon and the other had the eggs with hash browns and toast. They do not skimp on the portions. You get a good hefty breakfast. Sometimes you find these places by chance and we were glad we found Brownie's Cafe. Most days it is only open for breakfast and lunch but there is one of the week it is opened for dinner. The restaurant has a separate big dining room that you don't see from the main dining area. It has a friendly atmosphere and family atmosphere to it. Just happy that we found this restaurant. Legit old school diner! Very busy when we went (noon on Sunday), the waitresses did an excellent job managing how busy the place was. The food was some of the better diner food I've had in a while. The steak and eggs was only $14, which is a pretty good value for a grilled steak. The staff was really nice and welcoming. Restroom was clean and well stocked...note that it's a one at a time bathroom. Only 1 little complaint: Ordered my eggs over medium and they came out over hard. Another wonderful experience at Brownie's Cafe! My brother was in town and we took him here for the first time and he was mad at me for not taking him before Jonathan was our server and he was amazing, wonderful customer service! It came with "American" cheese which wasn't listed on menu (and I didn't clarify what cheese would be in it), they re-made the omelette for me with no questions and an apology. All quite good.
