For years The Press was a great place to enjoy your lunch or meet with clients. It's subtle decor made for a soothing ambiance. But, as of yet The Press has joined forces with Baja Viches a group of culinary mavericks known for their unique recipes. The combination of these two businesses coming together was exciting, with good reason. Baja Viches has gained a reputation for its seafood masterpieces and combined with The Press's food style, we all waited in anticipation. Since the merger I've visited The Press a few times and during my visits the staff was always respectful and attentive. I always asked about their dishes and they've all been extremely knowledgeable. On one of my visits I asked if they had any healthier alternatives to the tortilla. One of the hosts recommended the Keto Surf & Turf. This was a steak and shrimp taco in a cheese shell. The taco was insanely delicious, I also ordered 2 of their pork belly tacos to go. I had planned on sharing them with the misses, but it seems they were so good, she ate them both. I for one enjoy the decor and their choice in music, one time it was reggae and another soft rock. The menu had so many options, I had a hard time choosing, but the girl at the register gave me her honest opinions and helped guide me to what would satisfy my cravings that day. The flavors of this waffle, pork belly, peanut butter and maple syrup sandwich were on point and I can't wait to go back to yuma for more! Might have to wait til summer though. Stopped here for lunch on a Thursday after really wanting a sandwich. Upon arrival, the staff let us know they were out of sandwiches and salads. Something about them not having made bread (amazing their bread is homemade!) and being out of lettuce. The only item they could offer was tacos. Ended up ordering the shrimp tacos, which were delicious! They came with a spicy sauce on the side and it had a good kick! The inside is inviting and offers tons of seating. They do have a patio with some outdoor seating and also parking spots right out front. The service was great. Innovative blend of two very different restaurants. This will be to Yumas benefit! A Bistro meets Baja Cuisine! Now open at 6 am for breakfast. A place for good food. It's been ages since I dined at The Press... the decor has changed. I remember well the mint infused cold pea soup I had last time! Today... Breakfast. avocado toast. ($8.00) the smashed avocado Feta cherry tomato's on toasted focaccia triangles. It was filling. Everyone else 4 customers were ordering iced Mexican Hot Cocoa. It must be yummy!! For me I was craving just a cup of coffee. The only way to achieve this was by opting for the Americano. Gulp ($6.00) Wait wait... hold the press... (haha) they do have a refillable Mug of coffee for ($4.00) that's a bit better considering it's likely to be made with the same roast as their espresso beverages. My Americano was good. However with no Whole Cream available Half and half had to suffice! I guess this explains why they do not serve a Cafe Breve. :( If you serve it we will order it). At the least you have whip it up as a topping for that delicious Mexican hot cocoa and other delicious sweet beverages and desserts! The avocado toast was tangy. A vinegary flavor permeated every bite. It was not in the herbed olive oil drizzle on the plate, and it was not the feta which I love. Hmmmm. The gentleman (perhaps Andrew whose name appeared on the receipt) who took my order took a few precious moments to secure my return by sharing which menu item Best represents his vision of Baja Cuisine! For this reason I look forward to coming back! The menus of the Baja Viches and The Press will fuse! I see many Tortas being served on the traditional Focaccia of The Press. I've visited Yuma a handful of times and just heard of this place on my last visit, upset I didn't visit sooner! The have vegan options! The freeze isn't vegan but the owner made it vegan friendly for me, didn't know until he asked me about it. And the blueberry was delicious! (Visited last year and I'm trying to remember everything). And the sandwich is one of the best I've had! I remember trying to find another sandwich like this for a few months. The inside was quiet and clean, plenty of tables and chairs. Loved the decor and the bathrooms were clean. Don't know when is the next time I'll visit Yuma but this this place would be the first restaurant I will visit! read more

The Press Cafe did not disappoint, I was in the Yuma area and was craving Bisciuts and Gravy for breafast and obvioulsy I searched on my Yelp app and this place showed up. You order at the counter and they will bring your food to the table, I came at a very slow hour, 11:00 AM, only 3 othe rtables in the whole restaurant and since I was on a work trip it was perfect for me. The do have WiFi and I was able to get some work done while having some great coffee and food. I ordered the Biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage, and it was very yummy. The coffee was excellent, they have a self serve station for coffee, Iced Tea and water, so unlilited refills. The ambiance is Cafe Quiet, nothing too loud. Decore is great! The girl behind the register was super nice and helpful. they seem to have alot thingd on their menu and some great specials, the sandwiches looked mazing, I will definately be coming back next time am in town. You order first at the counter. Then sit down. It's super quiet in here and can hear other peoples conversations. Self serve area to get your own water, napkins, condiments. I ordered The Breakfast Burrito and half an order of biscuit and gravy. The burrito has three eggs, shredded meat, avocado and cheese. They press the burrito so it has these grill marks. Gives a bit of crunchiness. The sauce is a house made spicy sauce but it wasn't spicy to me. Good sauce though, so ask for extra. The gravy with sausage was really good but the biscuits could have been better. It wasn't soft or moist. I got the Mayan freeze tea. When you get the blended ice version, it's sweeter and they add whip cream. It has a chocolate earthy taste and 1.5mg caffeine. read more

Press has a cinnamon honey shaker on their signature menu and it is the reason I must go out of the way to get one at least once a week the staff is always super friendly and the location is beautiful and very large which is great bc it's always very busy. read more

So much potential! Most reviews I had seen were for breakfast items. The Salad was awesome. The soup should have been. This Chilled Mint Soup excited me on the special board. I should have gone with my first choice, the Roasted Tomato. Sadly the beautiful green soup overtly peppery and had a strange grainy texture. Fresh home made bread is a good thing of preparation doesn't toughen it as the top to my sandwich was. The sandwich was missing two ingredients listed in its description. It is possible that the onions were in fact present just cooked down in the caramelization process to a vague memory. I'll not lose hope, afterall, I do believe The Press has merit! I don't know how I've gone so long without reviewing this place. I seriously can't say enough good things. Food is always delicious, restaurant is always clean, service is always amazing no matter who is working. It's nearly impossible not to strike up a conversation with the owner if he's there when you come in. He's so personable and we always have good conversation. At this point we've had almost every sandwich here and you really can't go wrong. As someone who is currently pregnant and has a hard time eating out I love that they let me customize it to my liking and also let me try the soups or gravy before ordering so I can make sure I can eat it. read more

Place was hot inside Sorta clean , seats were dirty from other diners , fake plant on our table has some nasty snot looking stuff on it . Asked for ice tea and got a tiny glass one would expect to find juice in at breakfast . Oh by the way the stir sticks get your fingers wet when you use them on ice tea. What I liked most about The Press Cafe is the menu, created by Chef Michael, the owner, who penned a most excellent and yummy description of homemade pressed sandwiches, salads, soups, and breakfast fare. What I liked least is that I didn't get to sample everything on the menu. No single meal exceeds $12. I had a half-serving of my favorite breakfast, scratch biscuits and sausage gravy for $6. We stopped here on our way through town back to San Diego. We were looking for something fresher than all the chain options right off the exit and yelp led us here. We got the Yuman, Imperial and the Melt sandwiches. The portion sizes are huge. The bread is good, but it's a lot of bread. The yuman was ok, the melt was good and the pesto was delicious. The imperial was SO spicy. I love spice and this was way too much... the chipotle mayo was all chipotle and it overpowered the sandwich. I couldn't eat it... perhaps an off batch since so many others seemed to like it? They forgot the lettuce on all of our sandwiches, and it really needed it. Ugh! We also grabbed a chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie and those were both delicious!! read more

Wow! We stumbled upon this gem looking for a quick bite on a road trip from SD to Phoenix. Usually settling for fast food, we were looking for something a little healthier and more unique and we definitely found it here. Both my husband and I said their pressed focaccia sandwiches were some of the best sandwiches we'd ever had. We ordered ahead for takeout and the order was right on time. The food is good, that's why I keep going back, but the wait times are extremely long! For extremely simple order, expect to wait at least 30-45 minutes. I guess they prepare it well, so it takes longer. If I'm in a hurry, I will not stop here, but if I'm looking for something good to eat and taking a friend, I suggest this one but warn them about the long wait times. I'm not a big fan of the decor, so bland, uninviting. But decor will never put me off from going somewhere where I enjoy the food.
