While driving from Orange County to Phoenix, we went a little off the beaten path to try this place because it had good reviews. We like their mission to help out first responders. The space is very roomy and we like the decor and the clean restrooms. The people were friendly and informed us that due to the time change between California and Arizona and because we ordered it in California online, it got bumped up an hour. So basically, we we're an hour early to pick up our order But they quickly put our order together while we waited and they were very nice. While we waited, we upgraded to the combo and receive some chips and a drink. We ordered the medium size hook and ladder sub, which was just perfect to share as a road snack. I customize 2 sandwiches. There were things wrong with both sandwiches. The lettuce was wilted and looked gross. I pulled it off the sandwiches. When I eat in I don't have this problem. This was a takeout order...never again. read more

Delicious subs with SUPER friendly staff! This was my first time ever having Firehouse Subs and I'll definitely be returning. I don't live in Yuma so sadly I won't be able to visit this location anytime soon unless I find myself visiting Yuma again. But this location has definitely given other Firehouse Subs up in the valley some business. I ordered through the app and picked up my order. I went with their vegetarian option and added a few veggies and avocado plus some mustard and oil & vinegar on the side. I also got a free large drink for signing up through the app, which was awesome. They have one of those coke machines where you can pick like 1,000 different combos of drinks. I went with Aha Sparkling Lemon Lime water. I love it! The sub, which I ate several hours after picking it up was super fresh and delicious. The bread didn't become soggy even though the middle was scooped out per my request and the veggies were crisp and fresh. The cheeses were also high quality and had good flavor. When I got to the restaurant I asked if they had plastic bags because I was placing the subs I ordered in a cooler. They didn't and the woman helping me was so nice and apologetic. The subs were in a container in the paper bag so it wound up not being an issue. When I entered the store, the staff welcomed me and when I left they told me to have a nice day. Welp. I don't think I'll be coming here again. We ordered the steak and tuna. Highly disappointed for the quality of steak and the amount of meat for the price and then my daughter was eating her tuna and long straight strands of brown hair were in her mouth as she was chewing. She spit it out im like was this in your actual tuna she's like mom I think theres hair in my food. She takes another bite and more hair. I called she said she would refund my food but yeah red flags. Do unto others as you want done to you. Theres no way whomever whipped up that tuna didn't see their hair fall into that mixture. Firehouse Subs gets my review, equaling 5 stars, for the Yuma area, as related to a sandwich shop. If I had to rate them from my local area they would still be at a strong 4 stars, with me being a return customer. Walked in here for dinner a couple weeks back. I had never been to a Firehouse Subs, but my buddy had and raved about the chain. Unlike most sandwich shops where you can pretty much put together just about any concoction desired (e.g. Submarina, Subway or Jersey Mike's) they have a smaller list of the sandwiches they specialize in. If they do, then I wasn't very observant. I'm glad, though, that I chose one of their specialized sandwiches. I chose the Italian Sub (Genoa salami, pepperoni, Virginia honey ham, melted provolone, Italian dressing, and seasonings). The very nice woman working the counter stated it was her favorite and asked if there was anything I wanted to add or delete from the sub. I stated that if it was her favorite to make it the way she likes it and she agreed. That sandwich, made with a little extra TLC I'm presuming, was one of the best hot Italian Subs I have ever had! Thank you for the fond memory and, God willing, should I return next year I will be back for another. Always fire house subs are the bomb and they are really really good love them all lots

I've been to a handful of Firehouse Subs before, and overall this one really did impress me. Let me go ahead and say up front that I had to dock them a star because they left the pickles out of our order for my family's to go food and we didn't realize it until we got home to eat... and we love pickles. So I couldn't in good faith hand out a 5 star review without my beloved pickle. But the sandwiches they make here are delicious. This restaurant doesn't skimp on meat or other toppings, leaving you with mostly bread... they do it right. The employees were friendly. The service was fast. The restaurant (and restroom too) was clean. They have that awesome freestyle drink machine where you can pour yourself whatever soft drink your heart desires. The cookie my son got was delicious and fresh. Also, this restaurant prides itself on giving back to first responder heroes within the community. You can't go wrong eating here! read more

Absolutely the worst veggie sub I've ever had I ordered cheese and all veggies and I received a sandwich if you want to call it that with canned mushrooms a ton of bell peppers and two paper thin tomato's. No teeth? Get the brisket. Stopped here for lunch vs picking up more traditional fast food. Little did we know it would be packed. Firehouse Subs must be where everyone in Yuma goes for lunch. From construction workers, police officers, on duty military, seniors and everyone else. We ordered a large Firehouse Steak and cheese with everything and a large Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket in wheat no mayo or BBQ sauce. Ordering larges meant we'd get 2 meals or so we thought.... Sandwiches are huge and piled high with meat. No skimping in ingredients at Firehouse Subs! A small will leave you stuffed. A large puts you into a food coma. Good thing we have boys at home aka garbage disposal, vacuum cleaners. Because they'll be able to finish off our sandwiches. Bread is soft and warm with a hint of toasting, just enough for a little crunch on the edges. The brisket was fall apart tender. You almost don't need to chew the meat. A baby could eat this brisket. The crispy dill pickle slices are a nice way to end the meal. The only con: you better come on payday or plan to share. Because it's pricey if you order a large specialty sandwich. Two large sandwiches without sides or drinks cost $24.38. Ouch! We could have had a sit down meal for that price. read more

We stopped at this location in Yuma on our way back from AZ to San Diego. The facility is very clean and bright. Love the wall with firemen equipment. The bathrooms were clean which is rare in an fast food place. Their full size sub is a foot long but they do offer half size as well. We ordered the turkey club. It came hot as that is what they are know for, however, I wish I asked for it cold. Mayo and heat in a sandwich just isn't for me. We also ordered the Smokehouse and my husband enjoyed it. Said it was one of his preferred sandwiches. We can't wait for the San Diego location to open up. :) read more

I have never been here and it's mid 2015 so I thought I would try it. I am so pleasantly surprised with the food and the restaurant. Inside they had two different games on which I I like that they pay attention to what people are watching. They even had the sound of the one game over the speakers so you could hear the call of the game. The stuff has suggestions and was very friendly and efficient. I ordered the Engineer which is a turkey and mushroom heated with Swiss. This alone would be good the way the serve it. But as a option I added ban a peppers and chopped pickles to it for extra crunch. Fantastic! read more

I've ate at least 20 times at the various Yuma Firehouse Sub's. Friendly staff. Usually the hook n ladder, or the engineer, but I've tried some others also. Always taste great, and they are made fresh. I quit fast food burgers years ago and switched to subs at another national chain, or sandwiches at Frys. But these guys are the best subs in Yuma. Wow!! I loved this place! I've never been to a firehouse sub before so I wasn't sure what to expect. When you walk in everyone going to there's a long counter top much like Subway where you let them know your menu choice. The cashier was super friendly and helpful as well as I let her know that this is my first time at firehouse sub. My cost for my meal with $10 even. It was 9.13 for the meal and then they will ask you if you want to round up and add a bit more to charity. Proceeds from firehouse subs go back to the community and help firemen. You can find pamphlets and information on their contributions to firemen at firehouse subs. The subs are slightly smaller than they are at Subway, it was the perfect meal choice for me because I don't eat as much. In the long run I think it's 1.00-3.00 more pricy for a combo but I will return here, rather than to subway during my time in Yuma. Worth your time!! If you're super hungry though, make sure you ask them for the larger sized subs, as their regular ones are smaller!! read more

My family and I were driving through Yuma on our way to California. We chose to drive a little further off the freeway to this Firehouse Subs (instead of drive through fast food). We didn't know what to expect since we hadn't heard of the restaurant.. We just stopped in because we had a coupon. Wow! The sandwiches were wonderful. I had the Hook and Ladder and my beloved had the New York Steamer. So good! The bread was vastly superior to Subway, as was the meat. We will be back! They had a vast array of hot sauces but we didn't try them. The proceeds go to help fire fighters. Come to grab a sandwich with the family and the food was good but there was only two workers and the service was very slow on a Sunday at 1pm. I recommend to have a few more workers on Sundays. Ate here for dinner. I ordered the Italian with no lettuce and tomato, and added black olives. Their sandwiches can be a little pricey, but you get more filling then most other sub shops. Love firehouse subs! Greeted with "Welcome to Firehouse" as you walk in, they have a ton of quality sandwich options, chips, drinks, and even cookies and brownies for desert. I love their hook and ladder sandwich on wheat! The staff is always friendly and often funny as well. I love the tables on their patio on a nice day. Firehouse does a great job supporting the community it is in by giving money back to the local fire department. Great food and a great cause? Doubly delicious! read more

Today was a terrible visit. I ordered on the phone and spoke with a female that did not introduce herself. I ordered the 'Steak and cheese sandwich on Wheat with no mushrooms'. The woman told me that sandwich was called the 'Steamer", which I was not aware of. I went to pick up my sandwich and the normally cheery greeting was missing. I went to the cash register, no one acknowledged me, and a couple minutes later a gentleman in a dark shirt came to help me. I explained that I had called in my order, he got my name and I paid for my meal (the combo) and he retrieved my sandwich which was on top of the oven. He looked at the bag and then at me again, I said 'the steak sandwich with no mushrooms'. He handed me my bag and then started to walk away. I asked him if I could please have a cup for my drink. He didn't respond as I stood there. The phone rang and he answered the call, still not answering my question about my cup. I still just stood there. He finished his call and I again asked if I could please get a cup. He looked so confused and then he asked me if I wanted the Steak and cheese sandwich, and I pointed to the bag and said 'yes, that is what I ordered'. It was strange because he STILL didn't say anything. I then asked him, 'Is that what was in the bag and he said no, the Steamer was in the bag, which was a brisket, some other things and Italian dressing. I explained that was not what I ordered. By this time I had already spent time standing there, he offered to remake it for me, and I told him I couldn't wait any longer, that is why I had called it in. I (for the 4th time), just asked him for my cup. He gave it to me and just walked away, still looking confused. No apology for the mistake, no attempt to engage in any further conversation with me. I got my drink and just left. One of the strangest visits I have ever had here. Too bad, I usually eat here at least 1-2 times a week, but I am going to have to rethink that. read more
