Ok, Daves. The things we loved! Fun decor, fast service, good customer service. Overall a positive experience. The chicken is really good, and the staff super helpful. I found Hot was perfect for me, extra hot was spicy to the point you couldn't taste the flavors as much, and I like hot. But the flavors were good. A few minor issues that detracted from the experience, ergo only 4 stars not 5. 1. Paid extra for cheese fries... almost no cheese... very little to the point at first I thought they forgot I had upgraded the fries then a noticed the faintest drizzle. 2. The hot mozz fried mozzarella... breading is far too thick, and which ever heat level you choose, the seasoning was so thick its texture overpowered the texture of the mozzarella. We ended up peeling the cheese out of the fried breading (easy to do because it was so thick) and just ate the cheese. The cheese itself was wonderful!! Minor request not affecting rating: a first ranch packet should be a standard option. You have to pay for it extra fyi. read more

On our way to Chick-fil-a I saw Dave's Hot Chicken. So, I decided to try it out. This was my first visit and I will say, it definitely will be my last. To begin with the girl at the counter was helpful in placing my order for some chicken bites. It was a small order but wanted to give it a try. The order took forever. There isn't much seating -- only 5 tables and others were seated there. After about a 20 minute wait I saw 2 orders placed ready to go. Counter girl grabbed those and told cook they were to go so she took them back. It was close to another 5 minutes before those where boxed and put back on the counter. One was mine! After nearly a 25 minute wait I hoped with at least that long of a wait the food would be piping hot! The fries were warm, definitely not hot. The chicken bites weren't even warm. It was obvious they had not recently been cooked. The place was clean but with cold food and long waits at a fast food place, I have no plans to return. read more

First time trying Dave's Hot Chicken the Tucson, AZ location. I had the Dave's Combo #4, 1Slider with French fries and a drink. I ordered the sandwich medium heat. The sandwich was outstanding!! I added two packets of complimentary honey and it made the sandwich taste so much better!! The French fries were nice and crispy. The restaurant was clean with good customer service. The location is not huge, but has indoor seating. It did take about 15 minutes to get our food, but it was served hot and fresh. I got the tender and slider meal with fries. Dave's Hot Chicken opened here in Yuma September 15, 2023. And has had a steady flow of customers since. My family has visited once or twice without me, but for my daughter's birthday meal she decided to eat it here. Let's go! On this night, it wasn't as crowded or busy. We waited about 5 minutes before we started ordering. I ordered Dave's #3 Mild as hot isn't my thing. The worker Julian was on his grind, worker as cashier and expedited, and very apologetic for the slow service. No worries, man! Not your fault if someone called out! Our wait for our order was a little more than 12 minutes. And worth it. I really enjoyed the crispy, well-seasoned fries and of the Mild chicken. I loved it's darkish color and the taste; not dry and not too juicy. I did try a piece of "hot" chicken from my daughter's basket; it was walking down at dark alley...as you walked the "hotness" followed, and intensified! I took home leftovers (which tasted great the next day). I do look forward to eating here again (sans the "hot" chicken)! read more

We weren't necessarily seeking out hot chicken today, but it was Thanksgiving and we were passing through town with no other restaurants open. I do indeed love hot chicken so we stopped in here and it was great that we did. The sliders were delicious and the chicken generous in size. We love Dave's in San Diego, and we love it even more in Yuma. The sandwiches are great (we ordered medium spice level) chicken breast meat was so tender! Be sure to add Dave's sauce, pickles and honey to your sandwich or tenders, YUM! I always order an extra side of kale slaw because it is so delicious and fresh. Another awesome spot on the drive from Phoenix to San Diego! Saw that Dave's recently opened in Yuma, and I decided to stop here for lunch. Its in a super convenient location, right near a Sams Club gas station (cheap gas). I went with a #2, Hot, with a side of cheese sauce (really small cup, worth the $1.50 extra just to get the cheese fries and have your fries covered in their cheese) and my wife went with a #4, Mild. Had a Cherry Coke to drink. How was everything? Bomb as usual! The combo of the sauce, slaw, pickles and hot chicken are flat out awesome! The Hot will make you grab your drink and blow your nose a few times during your meal, as well it should! Really, really good "hot chicken". I love this shit! Officially addicted, without a doubt! Service was friendly and kind from the guy working the front register. This was definitely the smallest Dave's Hot Chicken I have been to. I think only 3-4 workers were there and they had maybe room to sit 20-25 people from what it looked like. Not that it matters, just that if you came with vans full of a baseball team or something, might not all fit lol. Three stars because the food was good for the most part but, the customer service was lacking. I went for lunch and tried the mini sliders. All of them were good except for one. The chicken on that one was a quarter of the size of the rest of them so, it was 90% bread and a tiny piece of chicken and the fries were cold. Other than that the food was good so I wanted to give them another chance for dinner. I put in a mobile order for 2 sliders and fries for me and my husband both. I requested pickles on the side and no slaw for both of mine and my husband's was regular. Only one came the way that I asked. I also ordered honey and cutlery. Of which we got none. The cherry on top was that we ordered one regular Oreo shake and one large Oreo shake. When my husband came to the car he had two regulars and had to go back in to get the large. Which, I typically wouldn't make a big deal about but, a large shake with extra Oreo is $12.49. While they did make that right it just added to the fact that they don't seem to actually be reading the orders as they come in. Being both orders I placed were to go I wasn't able to go back up to the counter and get them fixed. The second time the fries were warm and the chicken portions were very generous. Overall the food was tasty. I just wish they'd pay more attention to how orders are put in. read more

Different, but fun. I love a juicy piece of chicken and I also love pickles and coleslaw and they put all of those things together in their sliders. I went with medium which has a little bit of zip and it comes out on a nice soft slider bun. If you were to the combo number two you get two of them and a side of fries. Once they work through some of their kitchen issues and take a times go sub 20 minutes. I'll probably eat here periodically. But today it was 20 plus minutes at like 2:30 in the afternoon. About the chicken was super hot and the fries were okay but I'm here for the chicken and it was great. They have free Wi-Fi and plenty of parking out front and I didn't go to the bathroom but I have one. read more

So I wanted to make sure I tried Dave's in Yuma a couple of times for an honest review. I have been to Dave's before in Gilbert, AZ and it's always perfection. I have read the reviews for Yuma and I wanted to go in with an open mind and not let some of the reviews affect my experience (good or bad). I have to be honest both times that I went I used the pick-up feature because I like to make things easier on myself and picking up is always easy. First, ordering online with the app was super easy. I have to stray the app is very user friendly which is always a plus! Second, the location, the location is perfect and the inside is just as great on the outside as the inside. The decor is cool and fresh. It's a great spot to eat if you feel like you want to dine in. It's bright and colorful so the vibe is just cool. (I forgot to take photos of the inside, I know epic fail ). Second, the staff, this was one based on the previous comments I wanted to pay close attention to. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff. They were super nice and friendly, completely opposite from some of the other comments. Now I went two times so I wanted to see if it was just a one time fluke or not. Both times the staff was wonderful. When I got to the location my food was already ready so I didn't have to wait (first or second visit). Third, the food, the food was 10 out 10, chefs kiss! I always get the extra hot slider and fries and it never misses. I am too much of a wimp to try reaper . To be honest I have never had bad food experience at Dave's. The food is amazing every time. In summary, I say that Dave's in Yuma is a great addition to Yuma. I would say if you are the type to read reviews and take them to heart, then make sure you go in with an open mind. Just because someone had a bad experience does not mean you will. Reviews are great but everyone's experience is different depending on interaction. My experience was wonderful but based on some of the other reviews, their experiences were not. Without hearing both sides it's hard to get full grasp on a review. I usually love Dave's, however, this location is not the best. I came in today and ordered a #2 meal with no modifications. At other daves locations this takes 5 minutes max. I waited 40 minutes for my food to come out today. Since I was in a hurry, I was pretty disappointed, especially since this is supposed to be a "fast food" restaurant. Also, the woman working behind the register was rude and rolled her eyes at us while I was asking questions about the menu.
