The Country Boy The Country Boy biscuits

Took the family to Cracker Barrel today for brunch. We always love to stop here on our way to Peoria. The food was not as good as normal. My eggs came over easy and asked for over medium. The Grits were great the potatoes were warm at best. Kids had chicken tenders and fries they loved them and their parents had chicken fried steak dinner and chicken dinner. My wife had the burger and fries. Service was outstanding. The ambiance is old fashion dinner and it looks like it will stay that way.

I have been wanting to get some Blue Bell ice cream and Yuma is the closest place it's available. On Black Friday we set out on a road trip to Yuma. We stopped at Cracker Barrel for a late lunch. we arrived at 3pm and found they were doing a Thanksgiving menu. The fried turkey sounded interesting. Sadly they were out of turkey. I noticed on the specials board it was Fish Friday. Server let us know regular menu would not be available until 4pm. I waited. The fish fry was 4 piece of fried cod and 2 sides. Fries were battered with a crispy outside and a fluffy inside. Loved the mix of flavors from the light batter and the fried potato. Fried cod was battered with a light crunchy batter like the fried chicken. I loved the flavor of the southern style batter and the cod had a nice flavor. Biscuit was soft inside and I loved the mild buttermilk flavor. A bit like the KFC biscuits. Fried apples had an extremely sweet apple flavor. Great in small quantities. I liked the fish fry. The fried chicken remains my favorite dish here.  Staff was nice and friendly.

I really do love their gift shop. They've got something for everyone. So in that spirit I tried to get some Christmas shopping done early. Yay. We sat down and had lunch while were here. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, fried apples and biscuits with apple butter. Delicious meal! I noticed you can shop in their gift shop online, however it seems they don't carry every item you see in the store. The only issue we've ever had is the wait time for the food. For some reason it takes about 45 minutes to an hour after you order to receive your food. Our waiter seemed used to this problem and was very efficient at handling upset people. Plus he was just a super nice person to everyone.

oh wow!!! this is my first time in Cracker Barrel. I always see this (except in San Diego) but never tried til now. It has a different ambiance... kids will love their gift shop before entering the restaurant itself. Has a lot of good gift items. Very organized! Customer service is excellent!! Very nice and attentive! They keep on filling up my coffee... and their coffee is hot! I ordered their Grandma Breakfast... wow, their cured ham is tender, the sausage is lean, and their pancakes are kinda moist. I'm not a big fan of their hashbrown casserole, but the rest of the food served overpower the hashbrown! Will surely come back.

Had Corey as my server and he was great! Hostess and rest of the staff were very friendly too. Had the Friday night fish fry which came with four pieces of fish and two sides. The fish was really good with a nice crispy coating. Would definitely order again. It's not fine dining, but home style cooking. Judge accordingly! I will go back.

Let me start by saying this review isn't about just on Crackel Barrell location - it's about the whole chain, nationwide. My partner grew up in the Midwest, and Cracker Barrel has always been his go-to comfort spot. He loves it so much that a couple of times a year, we make a three-hour drive to Yuma just to get our fix. We check into a hotel, walk over to CB for lunch, explore Yuma attractions, then head back for dinner. And of course, before hitting the road back to San Diego, we stop in for breakfast. That's how much my partner adores this place. But all the admiration came crashing down. The ambiance? Still the same cozy, country feel. The service? Still that homey hospitable feel. But the food- the heart of the experience has taken a nosedive. The mashed potatoes? No longer creamy and buttery, just runny and bland. The meatloaf? Dry and lacking that home-cooked tenderness my partner remembers so well. It feels like Cracker Barrell has cut corners on quality to keep prices low, unfortunately, it shows. We've given CB plenty of chances, dining at locations across several states, and the story is the same: charm is there, the service is still solid, but the food just isn't what it used to be. We truly hope Cracker Barrel brings back the quality they were once known for. Until then, we're taking a break from our CB road trip tradition.

Food and service good. Portions are plentiful, tasty and affordably priced. We always stop here when we're traveling through. They have their gift shop stocked with all kinds of Christmas gifts already. We picked up a few stocking stuffers. All the merchandise is pretty reasonable as opposed to other retail outlets. I love browsing through their store. Breakfast was delicious as usual. Their pancakes are perfect, not overly doughy, with buttery crispy edges. Yum.

We went for breakfast and decided on both Grandma and Grandpa Breakfasts, with a side of Fried Pickles and of course the biscuits. Everything was the standard goodness; what stood out were the Fried Pickles and complimentary desert and Birthday Song that went with it.

It was another 15 minutes before the "fish and chips "was brought to the table.. having replaced the french fries with a cup of chili, I checked it to see if it was hot it was!!! Was the coleslaw called?? it was!!! But as I looked at the three planks of fish, my heart sink. Greasy glisten of the tempera like batter concerned me.. the batter was tough and I was unable to cut it with a fork. The tartar sauce was tasty and with a squeeze of lemon on the fish I was delighted to finally have food. I was only able to eat halfway through the first piece of fish before I started peeling away the batter once all three were released from their tough greasy death shrouds... I was able to enjoy about three ounces of fish! The server was attentive and offered a fresh decaf coffee cup to go! I have no idea what was going on at Black Bear last night . Absolutely not what we have experienced previously. The chili was spicy. The coleslaw was fresh.. the 1st cup of decaf was deplorable! Better days ahead I'm hoping !

The California Chicken is pretty darn good, and the burger was great, but the Fried Chicken is, in my humble opinion, the best thing on the menu. The house margarita is tasty but seemed maybe a bit weak. I'll be trying the pizza tonight. Drinks never go empty, table is always cleared promptly, the managers are present, wait staff is attentive without being overbearing. I really can't say anything bad about Bubba's. But what you'll find is a 5 star restaurant once you step inside. They have patio dining as well as tables inside. Each meal is prepared and plated with culinary skill. On this day, I had the curry shrimp and veggies. A sort of deconstructed Thai yellow curry dish. The plating made all the difference. The plate was served with a shaped mound of rice in the middle, with sauteed vegetables around the edges, green beans, carrots, zucchinis, onions, peppers and 8 shrimp placed around the plate on top of the veggies. The Yellow curry was poured over the rice for a unique plating. The shrimp were cooked nicely and everything was delicious. I have never had a disappointing meal in this place. I sat near the front door and had a duel with a relentless fly for a while that was a little annoying. But hey, sometime we deal with things in life for the greater good. A top notch , do not miss restaurant in my book and I recommend to everyone I know. This day I purposely left my phone in the car so I could take a real break on my drive from San Diego to Tucson.

The hubs had the "steak special" and it was SO HUGE that he could have easily had 2 full meals of pasta. Since we were traveling, we did not take our leftovers home, but they were worth it if we had been traveling back home that night. The ambience and service was on par with a nice upscale restaurant. I gave all of my leftover salmon to the local kitty cat that hangs out there at our table. Some people might not have liked it but he wasn't bothering anyone..... and loved the fish!

I've only ever passed through Yuma traveling around the Southwest, but never stopped to check it…read moreout. I've definitely been missing out. Prison Hill is the classic brewery serving a great variety of beers and food. Lineup for the night: Chango Malo (stout), Crimin Ale (cream ale), Peanut Butter Stout. Each beer was phenomenal in mouth feel as I like the richer, creamier beers. Chango malo had a lovely cocoa flavor. Peanut Butter stout actually tasted like peanut butter without being offensive. You can taste the peanuts behind the butter. The Crimin ale had a good mouth feel but pro tip - don't have a lighter beer between two heavier ones with spicy food. It gets a bit overpowered. On the topic of food, I had the Wrecker sandwich. Soft roll, smoked meat, and crunchy slaw made for a good dichotomy of texture in the sandwich. When you see smoke rings in a bbq sandwich, you know you're eating some primo shit. I'm not a big fan of spicy though but this was the right amount between the slaw and the fresh jalapeños. I felt like deviating from the usual burger and it was a good choice. Looking around at some of the other plates, I don't think I couldve gone wrong. Solid venue, good food, good beer, great staff.
