We stopped at the Texas Roadhouse for dinner in Yuma, AZ on our way home to San Diego. Out of all the Texas Roadhouse restaurants I've been to, this one had the friendliest and very attentive staff. Everyone was working together as a team helping each other out. Because it was Good Friday, I ordered the lemon pepper salmon and added a side of grilled shrimp with mashed potatoes and corn. Prime rib here is always perfect! Kids sirloin was a delightful surprise for the kiddo! Chili as a side dish a tad too spicy for kiddo but it's always yummy! The salmon was not dry and was ample enough to take half home! It was so lonely on the plate tho... this happens when you order a salad and chili! Couldn't yall at least put a sprig of green or something on the plate for aesthetics? Just came here a couple days ago and was VERY disappointed. I have been coming to this location everytime we travel from California and have never had an issue. We brought some friends down and it was their first time and they unfortunately won't be back because of the experience we had. 1. We sat down was greeted by our server Peyton, my friends and I are all over the age of 21.. we all wanted a drink and were told we could not be served because we had a California vertical license. Again, we go to this location ALL of the time and have NEVER been told this. We told her we've been served before and she refused. We went to the bar and got served our drinks... the bartender even laughed when we told her she wouldn't serve us. So that was that. 2. My sister in law had a coupon for a free appetizer and wanted to order the ribs, she looked and her and told her to read the terms and conditions, she told the server she did and the appetizers it doesn't include. Peyton (our server) then tells her about 2 more times to read the terms and conditions and she shows her it doesn't exclude the ribs. She puts the order in, but at this point all of us felt the tension. 3. My brother in law licked the rim of my sister in laws drink and not even a minute goes by and a manager comes to our table and says "did you just take a sip of this drink" he says "yes" and she then says "Your server (Peyton) said you do not have a valid ID" which was not true. He provided an ID and she said there was a miscommunication. At this point we're all extremely uncomfortable knowing that we are being watched and also talked about. 4. After this situation, Peyton came over and very rudely said "someone said you guys wanted drinks" we all said no. She then walks over to her computer area and starts talking to all of her coworkers. It was extremely uncomfortable having everyone stand there staring at us. 5. One of my other friends had asked for tabasco and about half way through our meal a different server (who was talking to Peyton prior) asked her if she's does using the tabasco because he needed it (i did not catch his name) he then proceeded to put the tabasco at the server station area and did not use it at all. Just felt sort of rude and unnecessary. As a younger crowd it is already hard going out to eat and receiving horrible service because apparently we "do not tip". Unfortunately in this situation we did not tip because the service was horrible. I have never experienced this before. Sad to say my friends first time here will be their last. I just hope you guys are able to educate you servers more about who you can and can't serve, also have THEM read the terms and conditions of the coupons you guys provide. read more

I decided to have a family meal here for my birthday. This place is/was always packed, so I got online, joined the VIP club and got on the waitlist. Plus, I got a coupon for a free appetizer as well! We used the waitlist on a Friday around 3:30pm before the dinner and were seated in under 15 minutes. For appetizers we ordered The Cactus Blossom and The Combo Platter. The salads were good but left my Wife wanting, as in not the best tasting. The bread combo, like the appetizers were delish! We all ordered various dishes for our main courses which we enjoyed immensely and had plenty to take home; I will say the sides I ordered, the Steamed Vegetables were crisp/crunchy and the Green Beans with the bacon bits? Yes! And really hit the spot. Once I told them it was my birthday, not only did I a dish of French Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocalate, Drizzle, I also got "The Treatment." As in they bought out a portable saddle for me to sit on while they exclaimed to the whole dining area it was my birthday and how old I was (good thing I joked and said I was 21!). Took my aunt and the rest of my family to eat for her birthday and were amazed on how perfect the food was and service. The restaurant was spotless with the awesome aroma of bread and meat cooking on the grill. The hosts all greeted us with a smile and held open the doors for us. The last time we went it was a miss but today was an absolute hit. Our server who was Jonathan was a prime example of service making sure we had drinks refilled, bread restocked, and anything we needed. My aunt who is mostly a Spanish speaker appreciated Jonathan Speaking Spanish to her when taking her order. He also made sure we were taken care of with dessert for her birthday and an announcement. Karen and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary by going down to the Texas Roadhouse in Yuma for a steak dinner last night (December 18th, around 6PM). We've always had a decent steak there. I selected a 16 oz. rib-eye from their display window and ordered it 'Rare". Their temperature guide says that they cook "rare" steaks to a cold center temperature, which is the way I like it (i.e. very rare). I ordered a bowl of mushroom on the side, without onions. I should have known there was a potential problem when the steak arrived, as it had lost a LOT of its thickness, and then, when I dumped the mushrooms onto the steak, there were only about 4-5 mushrooms on top of a bowl filled with cooked onions! Anyway, the steak with the loaded baked potato and caesar salad tasted OK, but I should have paid more attention to how the steak had been cooked. It was nowhere near "rare" because the center of the thin steak was just the slightest bit pink - I would rate it a "medium-well" cooked steak!!! A bit of a disappointment, and the waitress was not the least interested or concerned when I mentioned it to her. I told her that I'd already eaten half the steak so did not expect a replacement, but wanted her to inform the cook, so that he/she was aware of the problem. She said, "Gotcha!" and ambled back to do something else at the register in the kitchen. We spotted who we thought the manager was, in a blue shirt with an ear piece, on the other side of the restaurant but he never came near our side of the restaurant, so we paid a smaller tip than normal, and left. Really disappointing experience with my ribeye steak dinner. The steak had almost no flavor. It was completely under-seasoned and had no sear on it, like it had been placed on a very under-heated grill. It also had almost zero marbling and was very tendony. His demeanor was unprofessional and dismissive, and he showed no willingness to assist or make reasonable adjustments to enhance our experience. Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Poor Customer Service at Texas Roadhouse - Yuma Location To Texas Roadhouse Management, Last night, my family and I visited your Yuma location to celebrate my younger sister's birthday. We had a reservation for nine people; however, we informed the host in advance that one person might not be able to attend due to her being stuck at work. We were seated, and we realized there was sufficient space at our table in the event she was able to join us later. We proceeded to order drinks, appetizers, and then our meals. Shortly after placing our order, my sister called to let us know she could be on her way if there was space on our table. When the waiter returned to our table, we politely asked if it would be possible to add her meal to the order. He declined, stating that he had already submitted our order. I then asked how additional items or to-go orders are normally handled, since those situations typically occur after an order is placed. I also offered to have her meal added to my personal check to make it easier. At that point, the waiter refused again and stated that I was "deceiving him," which was both confusing and embarrassing, as we were simply trying to purchase an additional meal. We respected his response and did not argue. However, the interaction made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We were celebrating a birthday, and instead of enjoying our time together, we felt embarrassed by how the situation was handled. As paying customers, it was surprising and disappointing to be refused the opportunity to order additional food. Shortly afterward, a woman who appeared to be a manager was going to every table asking if everything was okay. When she came up to ours, I politely explained that we no longer felt comfortable staying and asked if we could simply pay for what we had already received and cancel the remaining food. She agreed but did not ask any follow-up questions and left. Afterward, the waiter returned with our checks, and we paid and left. I want to be clear that we were not asking for any free meals. We were simply trying to order an additional meal for a family member joining our table. There was sufficient space, and no accommodations were needed beyond adding one item to the order. This experience was disappointing, especially on a special occasion. Texas Roadhouse should prioritize professionalism, communication, and respect. Michael G is one of the best waiters I've ever had if I'm being completely honest. He definitely deserves a raise. If every waiter at Texas Roadhouse had the same welcoming attitude, I would probably be eating here much more often. The most unprofessional childish staff AND manager I have ever witnessed in a restaurant. Steer clear of this place unless you want your senior mother to be shoulder checked by the owner/manager, JIM VASICA, after waiting nearly 3.5 hours for your meal. Group of 9. Checked in at 7pm, "30-40 minute wait". We waited in the parking lot, in separate cars, when we received a text our table was ready, 4 out of 9 of our party was inside the restaurant ready to be seated within minutes, the rest were literally walking across their parking lot to enter and the stuck up hostess said she couldn't seat our party unless we were all present... they gave our table to the next large group and told us to wait, another 45 minutes goes by. With 4 kids in our group and it getting late we said they could split our group. They texted us we were ready to be seated, again. Group of 9 rushed in to be "counted" only to find out they aren't ready to seat us and were told again VERY RUDELY to go wait outside. When we were finally seated at our separate tables the hostesses were snickering with many of the waiters pointing at our group, we believe they were screwing with us when my mom's hamburger came out in pieces literally... she let them know it's falling apart and she hadn't even touched it. We've never seen a burger at a restaurant come out in pieces... they reluctantly offered to replace it and fifteen minutes or so later they come back with her burger, and tell her it will be another 5-10 minutes for the bacon..... this was the last of the nonsense we could handle after already being treated so poorly and bossed around about where to stand and wait for nearly 2 hours. We asked to speak to the manager, he came over with a smug look on his face and insincerely asked what the situation was, we told him and he said we were yelling at his staff, which is not true. He said they wouldn't be taking anything of our bill, not even the hamburger served at 9pm with the chance of bacon at 9:15pm. His team of immature waiters all lined up and stared and even pitched in taunting us as he ESCALATED the situation. He could have comped the burger and apologized for poor service like any other manager would have done. Instead he argued with us, causing a total scene. He ended up wearing the burger, a water was spilled, and when my SENIOR mother was trying to walk away he SHOULDER CHECKED her so hard her drink flew onto the table nearby all over his other customers. The cops were called and they told us this happens ALL THE TIME. They won't take their own families there because of how poor the service is. After reading other reviews, the manager is the owner, and you can come to your own conclusion, but ours is that he's a total control freak/physcho path. Texas Roadhouse is always a packed MESS, and you have to wait for over an hour to get in. If I didn't reserve online, it would have been a wait closer to 2 hours. I've been here 3 or 4 times to know. It's super loud like a cheesy sports bar, the food is OKAY but table service is great. The waitresses or waiters are great and accommodating. I ate a hamburger, which was tasty, and the bread was delicious with a cinnamon sugar butter, but was it worth the wait? I wouldn't come back here unless there is no wait time or unless I was mentally prepared to sit or stand around for over an hour to eat mediocre food. Or unless this was one of the few sit-down restaurants in the area. There are lots of families and this restaurant is generally in a suburban area but in every place I've been to one, it always has a long wait and there is a massive amount of ineptitude going on with people handling the seating. Or maybe there just isn't enough seating and the staff is overwhelmed because the restaurant is overbooked. I made a reservation online, and this is the EXACT text I received: "You're on the TXRH waitlist. Text HERE once ALL guests have arrived. Text REMOVE to leave the waitlist. Quote 35min-45min. Reply STOP to opt out." We arrive 40 minutes later, and I walk to the front to check in. I then get this text: "You've been successfully checked in! Please remain close to the building and keep your phone nearby. We will text you to bring your party inside shortly. -TXRH" I have to wait ANOTHER 45 minutes inside amongst families, couples, and other groups of people. Finally, I get a text saying something along the line of "You're moving up the list, gather your completed party and go straight to the host stand to be placed On Deck for one of the next open tables.-TXRH". 10 minutes later, I'm STILL waiting ON DECK, which is in front of the hosts, AND 3 or 4 other people helping her. 5 minutes after that, we are seated because our waitress had to wait for a line dance to finish. That's how the owners want it, though. Less availability equals more demand. OR you could always REMODEL and make these restaurants 2 stories and always have room for more people with a larger restaurant, but NO. Let's make families and people wait to eat mediocre food in an environment so loud that they can't hear each other. And let's drown it all out with the staff having to periodically line dance. We were asked to return an unopened extra bag and told peanuts can't be taken home unless purchased. Rule changes happen, but there was no sign or notice, which made it awkward and unnecessary. How do u open in Yuma at 3pm (we got there at 2:50) of all places in Yuma and have trouble accommodating a group of 10 people. Then give us attitude. Not many customers there and or waiting and then we request a manager, and he's even worse lets u know MAYBE ITS BEST U GO ELSEWHERE. Basically kicked u out. Rude People. I would never go again. our school staff was planning an end of year luncheon. I called the day before to let them know 10 to 12 people would show up. They suggested I call the day of, which I did. I was put on call ahead seating list. 10 of us were waiting and wanted to order something to drink. They wouldn't seat us until all our party was there. We thought we were all there but 3 people showed up after. They wouldn't accommodate us. The late arrivals would have to sit elsewhere not with the rest of the party. The owner/manger was rude and condescending stating restaurant policy. Once seated no one else could be added. What should have been a pleasant experience was made most unpleasant by manager. My unfortunate experience is due to the poor customer service and lack of professionalism we have experienced while being attended at the Texas Roadhouse in Yuma,AZ. The manager and owner's name is Jim Vasica and I truly hope he retires soon or finds a job that is better serving of his time. This manager's lack of empathy and his poor attitude are the main reason that we will no longer be frequenting this specific location which was one of our favorites. To make a long story short, on 9/20/25, our party of 8 (including 1 infant)were all accounted for and seated during dinner hour. Keep in mind this was NOT during a holiday or special occasion but during a regular weekend. We had already ordered or drinks and were enjoying some bread. We then realized by no fault of the establishment that we had mistakenly forgotten to pack a bottle. My husband then had to leave and go purchase one at the nearest store. During this time we were going to be ordering appetizer's to begin with regardless of the situation. Our server basically started pressuring us saying we HAD to order our meal with our appetizer's. I had never heard of such a policy and did not understand why we were being rushed and forced to order when we weren't even sure of what we wanted in the first place. We explained our situation and stated that we were still deciding aside from waiting for my spouse to order the meal. Mind you we were still ordering drinks & appetizer's so it's not like we were just sitting there taking up valuable space. I was also holding my 1 month old infant and eventually we were forced to be seated again in the waiting area while my husband arrived from the store. I considered this the biggest inconvenience due to the fact that we had our baby with us and anyone that has kids can relate to the fact that it is a bit difficult to move back and forth through busy establishments while dealing with a baby. Nonetheless, the main reason for this poor review is due to the treatment we experienced at the hands of Jim Vasica, the manager/owner. There were so many different ways he could've handled our situation. I think he would benefit from some kind of customer service refresher training seeing how one can lose sight of those important details along the way while becoming a manager.I am sure he doesn't care that he lost a customer but it makes me feel better knowing that I am spreading awareness of this and I hope it does not happen to another family with kids.
