My wife's House Special was just shy of being burnt and almost not eatable. I remember going to Brownies Restaurant with my father in law in the 1990's and we always received a great meal. Our meals seemed not to be the same quality as before. The waitress was extremely nice and very friendly and attentive to us, kept the coffee cups full .

My husband asked for no tomato on his burger but still received tomato. I'd make sure to double check with the waitress that they take out any toppings or ingredients you ask, in case you have allergies to them. Overall, it was a classic diner experience. There was no WOW factor. They're open 24 hours and have a lot of parking.

But what you'll find is a 5 star restaurant once you step inside. They have patio dining as well as tables inside. Each meal is prepared and plated with culinary skill. On this day, I had the curry shrimp and veggies. A sort of deconstructed Thai yellow curry dish. The plating made all the difference. The plate was served with a shaped mound of rice in the middle, with sauteed vegetables around the edges, green beans, carrots, zucchinis, onions, peppers and 8 shrimp placed around the plate on top of the veggies. The Yellow curry was poured over the rice for a unique plating. The shrimp were cooked nicely and everything was delicious. I have never had a disappointing meal in this place. I sat near the front door and had a duel with a relentless fly for a while that was a little annoying. But hey, sometime we deal with things in life for the greater good. A top notch , do not miss restaurant in my book and I recommend to everyone I know. This day I purposely left my phone in the car so I could take a real break on my drive from San Diego to Tucson.

I got a side of fruit to take for lunch later. And a biscuit with honey. It tasted like it was made from scratch I love the taller tables as a shorter person. Makes it easier to sit up and laugh with friends. Maybe that's just how I see it, but I love the airy big restaurant and love that they have covered outside of you need it too.
