This is the place to stop when you're looking for a meal on the road! The friendliest people. Fantastic ambience. Pure americana, salt of the earth. I had a mountain of biscuits and gravy! Lol. It was fantastic, but honestly, order the half portion if you're eating it alone. Ha ha ha PS -the best coffee Nice and hot and strong.

A Hidden Gem with Amazing Food and Friendly Service! Jac's Whistle Stop Cafe has become a favorite hidden gem for my boyfriend and me. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel special. The food is consistently amazing -- I'm absolutely in love with their taco salad, and their Key Lime pie is hands-down the best I've ever had! Every time we go, it's such a memorable experience. If you're driving through, don't miss out on this wonderful small business; it's truly worth a visit. 10/10 highly recommend!

The best thing about this place was the service. The waitress was very nice and pleasant. We have been here three times previously and it was pretty good for a small dive. Things have gone downhill. I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo. There was so much potato, I could not taste the chorizo. The salsa was watery and bland. I would pay another dollar for more chorizo. My husband ordered a hamburger. The patty was a small pathetic piece of pressed burger that barely made it to the edges of the bun. It was comparable to a cheap burger at McDonalds with no flavor. My husband said it was like eating cardboard. The ketchup was a cheap brand and contained high fructose corn syrup. The only redeeming item was the key lime pie, which was surprisingly good and homemade. We have driven out of our way to eat here but no more. I can make it better at home. Not worth the gas or time.

    Happy diners!

Don't let the outside appearance of this little gem for you. It's one minute off highway 8 The chef is creative, Ann is the Perfect hostess with the mostest , & Megan is a lovely server. The pork tenderloin sandwich was " hanging off the plate" amazing. And the daily special, patty melt, was outstanding! Hailing from New York , Our foodie expectations were high ..... & they met them!

    Banana cream cheese pie. Yum!

Very small diner (5 tables inside and 5 outside and 6 seats at the counter) that were full at 8:30 am on a Sunday. We ordered the chicken fried steak, southwest omelet, and the "special" omelete. We were furtunate to arrive just as someone was leaving, so we got a table inside. Our menus, drinks, and order was taken quickly. After a short wait, the food arrived. The chicken fried steak has a very tasty gravy and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The omelets were as expected. The Southwest was served with a interesting salsa on the side, which I enjoyed. Portion sizes were normal. My wife was actually able to almost eat her entire meal, which never happens. One in our group decided to get a slice of key lime pie for breakfast dessert (I didn't know that was a thing!) so I ordered a hunk of banana cream cheese pie. All I have to say about the pies is OMG, best ever! Lastly the prices are good for an overall good meal.

The food was fast. Quality average. The service was friendly. And best of all outside seating available. We were able to let our pet chickens run in the grass on their long journey. Thanks for allowing us to be us!

Small little diner off the I-8. We stopped on our way back to San Diego from Tucson for lunch. Service was very fast and the staff was extremely kind and accommodating. Prices are great. I ordered the Cubana sandwich which was good- nothing fancy as it should be- and the bread was pillow soft. Mom got the shaved prime rib which she enjoyed and said the meat was very tender. Fries were nice and crispy. Bathrooms are a little rough but could be worse I suppose. The place has character!

That's the best possible word for my experiences! The impeccable experience was from beginning to end a delight. Beautifully executed to elevate the circumstances of its students from not just a cooking school.. but a well rounded culinary, food safety curriculum aiming to guide participants even through the hiring process. The menu takes into consideration a broad palate to appeal to many! Diabetic friendly options abound which many of us need! Nothing is by accident! While I would like to have tried several entrees I opted for a tuna Relleno trio. Now that combination of flavors and textures was a surprise. It was good nutrition. I realized it was actually a dish I could replicate at home perhaps including a few additions like finely diced bell peppers in red yellow or Orange to the filling! Perhaps some red onion as well atop the melted cheese draped over each Relleno. Not a typical regional Relleno but a healthy one indeed! Tiramisu..... I craved an espresso on the side to quickly dunk it in! Still frozen.... Delicious but here again not at all typical! I've got to hand it to the Candie and Amanda and all others who might be considered as contributors to the creation of this Culinary and Community Gem! Being here elevated my soul! And I pray that for many years it sets a high bar in the mission serving fellow man.... Elegantly Elevating their vision from depths of dispair!

Coffee was good, besides not getting a spoon to stir my coffee, that's okay. Coffee was great nonetheless. Breakfast was really good too. HashBrowns was cooked to perfection. Eggs were cooked well too and toast was delicious for sourdough, except I would have liked more butter, but that's okay too. This place is located right next door to a Mc Donald's- (Dick move on corporations) I suggest you give this place a try while driving through Quartzsite for breakfast. There was only one server, Josh, running the entire front of the house by himself. Apparently this is customary on Wednesdays. Before he could seat us, he had to clear off a table. Several tables were just in disarray and when people came in, this poor man had to scramble to clean something off. I went to the bathroom and one stall had absolutely no toilet paper or covers. And one dispenser had no soap. The bathroom was just yucky. When I came back, we still didn't have menus or drinks. When our food came, we asked for condiments that took too long that we ended up taking them from another table. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The cook gave me a stale biscuit that just ruined my meal. I couldn't eat it or ask for it to be remade because Josh was too busy to check in on us or refill our drinks. I told him when he came to pick up the plates. He apologized, but he didn't remove it from the check. I paid $10 for a meal I couldn't eat. We got a piece of pie and the taste was kind of weird...like it had been freezer burned and then defrosted. The whole experience was disappointing.

My girlfriend was supposed to have her car serviced at the dealership today. A wrench was thrown in the works, so the three of us met for breakfast. My boyfriend and I had already had breakfast, so we ordered off the lunch menu. I had a fried chicken sandwich, he had the chicken Caesar wrap. GF got the churro French toast breakfast plate with poached eggs and bacon. The waitress (Caitlin?) didn't pay much attention to our table. When we got our food, the fried chicken breast in the sandwich was lukewarm and she didn't ask about any sauce (ranch, etc) for the onion rings. The lady had to ask for the poached eggs and bacon. Also, she ordered an iced mocha with oat milk and caramel. Correct me if I'm wrong, but nowhere on the menu did it say that oat milk is an additional cost. Caramel was an additional cost. For a puny little iced coffee it ended up being $10. No refills. And we had to ask for ranch. She filled up my boyfriend's water glass and not mine. If it's empty, fill it. It's a hundred and something outside, please make sure all your guests are hydrated. The bill was $70. The lunches were extremely overpriced for what we got, to be honest. I know that prices have gone up and that inflation is a thing. I get that, I really do. The chicken sandwich was definitely not worth $15 and although the onion rings were good (and I'm thankful we weren't charged extra for them), it was still a letdown. This was akin to a $12 combo meal at a fast food joint. The first time I was here was a couple months ago. I had ordered the Denver omelette and when the waitress came out, she brought the wrong omelette ,(the three meat) out and didn't even try to correct her mistake even AFTER I had said it was wrong. That waitress was also inattentive and ignored us for the majority of our meal. We don't eat out a whole lot so it's a treat when we do. Less of a treat to receive subpar, overpriced food and subpar service. Sorry.
