We had driven by before but had never stopped. Now was the time. The place was packed but it was Sunday. We were seated fairly quickly but took a bit of time to finally put our order in. Shortly after the table behind us was cleared off, cleaned and a party of 4 sat down. There order was taken, food cooked and we still hadn't received ours. Not thrilled. Eventually, we did get served. I should have taken a picture of my husband's plate. There was so much gravy over the chicken fried steak and potatoes that it looked like just a plate of gravy. Potatoes were fine but the meat was not. It was burned on the bottom and he could not really cut thru it. Now we know why so much gravy. Cook was trying to hide the mess! Obviously it was not consumed. I ordered the salmon, corn and potatoes. The salmon and corn were good but not so pleased with the potatoes and brown gravy. Doubt we'll return and that's sad because we did like the menu! Lots of places to eat around Yuma though! read more

We stopped here on our way to San Diego. Just off the highway. It's got a lot of seating so you should be able to get a seat quickly. We got a table as soon as we got there. The service was great. Very attentive. My husband ordered to Salisbury steak platter and I got the chicken fried steak platter. Both came with mashed potatoes which I would call smashed potatoes because they were russets with skin on and lumpy! But OMG they were so good. The country fried steak was tender and had just the right amount of crust that stuck to the meat. The white pepper gravy was delicious. The Salisbury steak (I got to try a couple of bites) was very also delicious, came with mushrooms and onions. This platter had the mashed potatoes served with brown gravy. The reason for the 3. Burnt onion rings and 2 of us did not get to eat with the rest of our table. By the time I got my club sandwich and onion rings everyone else, 4 others, was done eating. Fish and Chips are great come with coleslaw. Steak and baked potato was amazing. The steak is so delicious. Service is perfect and friendly. Ambiance is a clean and neat wonderfully decorated. If you're in Yuma or even California and doing a day trip over or at the sand dunes, this is the perfect place to take the family. I highly recommend trying this restaurant. Today we stopped by Izzie's Diner for the first time & were truly delighted with our visit. The staff were welcoming & on point. The diner was not too busy for a Saturday afternoon, but numerous new guests arrived right after us so it really added to the experience. We were promptly greeted/seated upon arrival. The restaurant is a typical diner atmosphere with classic 80's music quietly playing & a tv with the news (muted) on behind the counter. Hubby ordered the French Dip with fries which was delicious. I ordered the fish & chips with coleslaw this too was delicious with the fish being perfectly cooked & not oily at all. The coleslaw was a traditional recipe that was an excellent addition to the fish. As this was our first time here we were admiring the various orders from the other diner occupants, the orders ranged from the nachos (huge plate of deliciousness) hamburger, quesadilla, chicken wings, breakfast plates to the loaded fries. Everything that we observed looked amazing & were huge serving sizes. We felt the price was perfect for the amount of food we received & look forward to sampling more from Izzie's Diner. read more

First time here since Erin took over from Jimmy Ks. I had the Eggs & Bacon Breakfast. The bacon was cooked perfectly, not too crispy. Eggs were good. Hash browns could have been cooked until golden brown but that's not a big deal. Coffee was okay. But thats typical at any diner. Chicken fried steak is a thick cut and I'm sure it's made in house. My buddy ate all his hash browns. Said his eggs were perfect. Toast was buttered well. All in all. Good food. The restaurant looks and feels a lot better than what it use to look like. Erin is a great waiter. A great person in general. This restaurant is named after his daughter. The vibe of this restaurant is welcoming. The food is great for a diner. read more

Went there this morning the gentleman sat us down then left leaving us unattended for 10 minutes while he attended others coming in as they sat he asked what they wanted to drink and he helped them while we watched and waited then he proceeded to take their orders when we still waited to get a cup of coffee they weren't busy so upsetting after reading reviews on how wonderful this place is. We won't go back we went to Ricks instead and was treated and served with hospitality. read more

We have eaten at Izzie's a few times since it ceased being Jimmy Ks. The only thing we have ordered is the Club sandwich so far, and, so far, it has been excellent each time. My husband and I always share, and each time, without us having to ask, they put it on separate plates. They provide good service without being overbearing. Next we are going to boldly order the fish and shrimp platter, and I'll update this review at that time. The restaurant has a more upscale vibe since it became Izzy's. What a delightful find! Traveling from San Diego to Phoenix on I-8, and needed lunch after gassing up in Yuma. We found this little family-run spot, and everything about our visit was perfect! Warmly greeted upon arriving, and our host/greeter immediately brought us ice water as soon as we were seated. Filtered water, too! Our server Emily was friendly and efficient, she made sure to ask our preferences on all of the different options available for our selections. Food was great! It came out very fast. I had the Reuben sandwich on marble rye that Seinfeld would've envied. Good side salad, perfect portion. Other side options were fries (sweet potato and regular), tots, and I think fruit. Hubby had the meat lovers omelette, and said it was good. Toast and fruit served with it. MIL had 1/2 BLT and small salad, loved it. It's very clean and pleasant inside the restaurant, cool and comfortable, really cute decor. Good sized parking lot, very convenient from the freeway. There's a bar area with a large TV that would be good for watching sports. Restrooms were spotlessly clean. When my MIL calls them that, you know they are! We are SO GLAD to have found this little gem before our final 2 hour leg to home (Goodyear). Sylvia told us they'd only been open for a couple of months. I ordered the nachos and I am very basic when it comes to what i like and wanted a few items on the side and even though jalapenos were not on the menu she kept them off for me knowing I would not like them. I have been into this new Foothills restaurant a couple of times now. Both the food, and the service has been fantastic! I look forward to frequenting this restaurant, and seriously hope that they can stay open. The interior and seating hasn't changed from the previous owner, and the bar area is not open. Great little spot to eat. Taylored to the older crowd, so homestyle favor is the their draw. Pricing was on-par for what you would expect from an out of the way place, but reasonable considering. A group of us had lunch at Izzie's, and I found it very disappointin. It may have been part on what I ordered which was the soup and salad for $10 +. The soup was split pea which I normally really like, and the salad consisted of iceberg lettuce, a tiny bit of cheese sprinkled on top, and two small sliced tomatoes. They really need to take a look at what they serve as a house salad. The other ladies ordered different items from beef and noodles to quesadilla. No one had anything good to say. The service was good, but it was obvious that our waiter had way too much to do. Not sure I will go back. read more
