Thanksgiving dinner, definitely wish our experience would have been better. Our service was not great our server clearly was new. Basic things were forgotten, were we had to micro manage our own service. Our herb crust prime rib came out rare, as we were not asked how we wanted the steaks cooked, plates were taken back, then when the plates came back out, they were inconsistent, it looked like good was just thrown on the plates,no gravy on the mashed potatoes, we asked for the the gravy and it never came out, presentation of the plate was not the same we asked for water and 15 minutes later our server asked if she ever brought the water out. I think the lack of training is the blame for tonight's dinner. Wish we could have gotten a discount for all the inconveniences and inconsistencies I'm leaving out additional details. Food was good but service definitely needs improvement.

Everything needs improvement! (Besides the Excellent Oysters and Miss Olivia) The place was packed. $2.00 tacos on a Friday Night assured the place was jam packed. Unfortunately in spite of being asked if there was a special occasion for our reservation fell on deaf ears. The only table available that Friday night for us was wobbily and the request to be moved was not able to be honored for over 45 minutes. By then we declined as we had adapted to the Wild pitching our beverages endured if we bumped the table. Speaking of Beverages... if you want water ask for bottled. Tap water at this place is awful. Tap Beer is fine a second would be nice but the delicious one ran dry and no more was to be had. My Six raw oysters ( which the guy helping out offered to two other tables before I caught his attention) on the Half shell arrived and were Exquisite! An hour later our meals still hadn't arrived and when they did.... I realized we should have just ordered tacos like everyone else. We just hadn't planned on celebrating our multi decades Wedding Anniversary eating off paper on a plastic basket. My entree was barely warm. What was Ironic is that the potatos beneath the dish were very freshly fried and hot and delicious. His Gumbo shouldn't have arrived tepid! Gator Bites were okay. A Dismal letdown after having planned a lovely evening out celebrating! We were able to dine elsewhere. But needless to say Gastro Pub left a terrible taste in our mouths due to several reasons! The bumbling male employee who seemed be trying to help needs training he lacks personable rapport with customers, and needs to know Where the food is heading instead of trying to serve it to others. His heart seemed to be in the right place... but.... Well he lacked professionalism. Olivia gave her all trying to keep her tables content! She took care of us the best of us the best she was able given obvious issues in the Office and Kitchen.

First time on our anniversary and the service by "B" was spot on. She is so very nice and very professional. The ambiance was as well nice because well, we were the only ones there besides one other couple on this New Year's Day. I had asked for a tv to be turned down as I was not interested in it he football game, but would rather hear their nice music playing. And, they turned the tv off altogether. What a nice surprise! As far as the food, we started with the gumbo which was a 5/5 as well as the appetizer of fried shrimp and coleslaw. 5/5 Yummy and for dinner we had the (1) Shrimp and Crab cakes which rank a 2/5 - had a hard time finding the crab and the binder was not holding together well. Disappointing... as it fell apart. And, (2) we as well had the Ribeye (5/5) with mashed potatoes and mushrooms which was very delicious. We would definitely be back to try other options and would recommend. Happy New Year everyone!

Fish and Chips (oh, those waffle chips are so crunchy and so flavorful!). The fish is good especially with that special batter.

The food was Fantastic! The menu was extensive but cohesive (it's New Orleans-inspired)! The ambiance is subtle and subdued--a most appropriate setting for a business meeting or a quiet lunch with your favorite person. Our server, Olivia, was vibrant and on time with refilling our drinks and bringing our order to our table. Very friendly and professional. I can honestly say I was surprised and impressed by the experience we had during lunch at GastroPub. Would return with out-of-town family members and high-value staff members LoL (meaning they deserve to be pampered at this level!).

Started off good but went downhill. We ordered fish and chips and Mac n cheese, coke and 2 Guinness. Charged $4 for Guinness after being told it was $3 for St Patrick's day. Placed lunch order and were told our first choice for dessert was available, fried cheesecake, but the Bananas Foster was very good so we told waiter, Mac, we'd have that. Lunch came it was good, when the waitress cleared the table we were asked if we wanted dessert we said we had ordered the Bananas Foster she did ok she'd check, waited. Eventually Mac came back around we said we were waiting for dessert, he said he'd check after waiting a while we gave up, asked for the check paid and left, No explanation for no dessert . Food was good service was good, but for not a busy time 1 hour 20 minutes to be seated and wait for dessert was too much.

Yelp asked if I would recommend this place. This is from my Facebook post on a local page from July 2023: The empty parking lot should have been a warning sign. First time trying this place. Both of the entrees we ordered were meat and potatoes. Any kind of vegetable had to be ordered on the side. My husband's steak was nicely seasoned and cooked to the requested temperature. They set the steak on top of his crispy fries so the fries were mostly a soggy mess. My short rib was supposed to have Cotija cheese but it didn't. They used Queso Fresco instead because they were out of Cotija and that explains the lack of flavor overall. The short rib was tender and had decent flavor but then I got to the middle by the bone and the meat wrapped around the bone and the bone were refrigerator cold. Mashed potatoes were flavorless. I ordered corn as a side. Zero flavor. Tasted like water corn is boiled in but some of the corn was charred. That's when I asked for Cotija only to be told they were out and had Queso Fresco instead. The poor waitress told us about their promotion and repeatedly said "if you come back" like she knows people don't come back. She did the same to the couple next to us. Then she handed us the red envelopes explaining a promotion. And that's when I realized why this food was sub par. Takos and Beer is the only good restaurant out of the three listed in my opinion. Rave to the waitress doing her best. Very polite young lady. And rave that they did discount my cold short rib meal by 50%. But, I won't be back... NOTE: The chef/owner did reach out to me on my Facebook post and offered me a gift card to try again. That was genuinely nice of him but I don't feel right taking that from him.

The Hills GastroPub is the latest innovation from Chef Eddie, a well-known culinary artist known for his attention to detail and unique perspective of traditional dishes. The restaurant is located inside the Desert Hills Golf Course which rests above the Yuma Valley. Chef Eddie's dishes are always top-notch and plated well, his meats are always prepared perfectly and the drink variety is pretty impressive, Now, if you visit the restaurant around dusk you'll see an incredible sunset over the western horizon.
