Carne seca

Husband tried the green agua chile, which was good. I got the tacos , they were all good but the best one for me was the shrimp chipotle . The carne seca was good. Also tried the " shrimp - stuffed peppers with broiled cheese" & they were good as well but not that good for $16 . My husband got the chabela which was good but really spicy & I got the resacarita flight which tasted like a bunch of syrup mixed w liquor . Payed $125 ..

Pineapple shrimp yumminess.

For sea food Mariscos this place hit the spot!! I had the twin tostadas I wish I had order just one.. I ended taking one of the sisters home. My husband had the Costa azul which it was delicious too. We loved it. We came around 6pm on a Sunday and we got to enjoyed the live mariachi band. Great ambiance for the family. Draft beers. Will come back again. Staff very friendly and our waiter kept checking on us. She made sure our questions got answered.

Initial Impression: Easy to find, parking lot is small, very spacious inside, well decorated. Beach theme all around, small stage & seperate seating in the bar area. Nice venue for a gathering. Pros: Plenty of seating, I like the seperate venue area by the bar perfect for a party. Our table was clean, we were seated right away. Waitress was friendly. Cons: Where to begin...... the bathrooms (ladies) were very dirty & they smelled soo bad. Maybe a combination of unwashed body parts, probably deep dark crevasses. The door to the stall was beyond dirty. The trash can & all its collections sat on top of the toilet, where you could smell each scent. Moving on to the food; I ordered the shrimp Aguachile verde & it arrived im a timely manner. The consistency was thick like a gravy. I tasted the liquid & it tasted a bit like dirty shrimp & lime. None of the shrimp in the bowl were washed or cleaned out. They literraly butterflied them & tossed them in the thick like gravy mixture & put cucumbers & onions on them with a hint of lime. The raw shrimp ceviche was dirty & not washed, they ground up the shrimp as is & just toss a few veggies with lime & call it a day. Very unsanitary. Overall Experience : We arrived at the establishment & I was a bit hesitant to order anything after being seated due to the pictures on the reviews showing almost all the shrimp in its whole form, not devained or butterfly cut to show that they were cleaned out. I decided to give it a shot & it was such a let down. My food was sooo dirty & smelled like it. All the shrimp had a slimey feel to them & had all the dirty insides in them. I couldn't eat any of it. I asked the waitress to take it back bc it was not clean & i showed her & she said that was gross. She doesn't even eat any of the food there.... she asked if I wanted something else & i asked her if any of the shrimp get washed or cleaned out before serving them & she was honest & said she didn't know but would hope so. We asked for the check & they still tried to charge me for the food bc I ordered it. Unbelievable..... I asked to speak to the manager & she came out & said & I QUOTE" NEXT TIME YOU COME PLEASE LET THE WAITRESS KNOW TO ASK THE COOK IF THEY CAN CLEAN & WASH THE SHRIMP FOR YOU BEFORE YOU ORDER" ..... which i thought cleaning the food is common sense.... in a restaurant. I'm surprised that the health department hasn't been called. In the end she agreed that I not pay for food that was beyond unsanitary to eat.

Fantastic local spot for mariscos style seafood. I'm a gringo and loved it. The stuffed pepper $11.99 with shrimp and is full of shrimp. It has this sweet soy reduction sauce on it. The grilled octopus $14.99 was tender and fantastic. It is served with the same sauce and fresh guac. The ceviche tostadas were good and tasted fresh. I'm guessing at night it is loud and busy. Sunday has a mariachi at 4. Plan accordingly. We had great service and it wasn't loud but we were here in the afternoon. Also to note that seafood isn't cheap and this place is worth coming back to for a seafood meal.

Good food, good service. No complaints here! Had fish tacos and shrimp stuffed peppers. They weren't stingy with the limes and I love that! lol

Pretty good place! Got there a little later and they still sat us down w about 30 min until closed. We were going to just go somewhere else but they pretty much insisted we just stay so i felt better they weren't annoyed about last minute customers.. ordered the pineapple ceviche which was delicious. $15-17 i believe for this entree and it was great.. fast service as well.

I reviewed the menu and everything sounded good. The Siete Mares soup stood out. We weren't very hungry so my friend and I ordered a fish taco each. Being there for the first time, I also ordered some rice and beans to complement the taco. We also ordered a sweetened ice tea each. It was early in the evening so there were not too many people. The service was fast. Within less than ten minutes we were served. Im sorry to say, the food was not so enjoyable. The fish taco was a bit spicy for my taste. I guess i should have asked before ordering. I tried removing some of what looked like jalapeño and/or serrano chile pieces but I didn't succeed in getting enough chile pieces to make the tacos edible for my taste. I thought i would ease then burning sensation in my mouth with a drink of the tea, but the sweetend tea was entirely too sweet for me to enjoy it, even though it soothed my mouth. I ordered a glass of water. I took s spoonful of the beans, and they were cold. Not sure if the mashed beans are placed on a dish, then warmed up before serving, but these beans were definitely not warmed up. Then the Spanish rice. They were nice and warm but a bit dry and not very soft. A bit of a disappointment. Will I go back? Definitely yes. Now I think I know better. Or At least, what to expect. Maybe la Sopa de siete mares, and a beer, will be better.

The restaurant was quiet enough with maybe 15 tables. I was, however, disappointed in the staff. The ladies were very nice but they seemed short staffed. They had (1) forgotten our silverware when asked for it, (2) never same back to check on us to see how we were doing, (3) didn't offer refills on drinks, (4) I was the last to get my food after everyone had finished - I had to ask for it and (5) they reuse glass sparkling water bottles for the sangria and then poured it into a plastic coke cup. (Maybe they don't have nice glasses for sangria like they have glasses for beer). The sangria must be premade and then poured into these bottles. The bottle came open but was it sealed or not. Seems odd yet I get why they reuse the bottles. It's just a bit unsettling because you don't know where that unopened bottle has been. For me and being cautious I wouldn't order sangria there again. And the taste, well it could have been better. It was just ok. When I finally got my one spicy taco it was so greasy I could not even eat it all. It upset my stomach. Just a disappointment all in all for me really. Though I will say the group we went with were happy with their food but as well disappointed in the staff. Do I recommend, for the most part which is the food yes. Just don't go expecting great customer service.

Our party of 12 placed our orders together; however, the delivery of food was highly inconsistent and significantly delayed. Approximately 20 minutes after ordering, only a few members of our group began receiving their meals. Another portion of the group was served roughly 10 minutes later. Even after one hour, several of us had still not received our food. In my case, I ordered three tacos (shrimp, fish, and birria). The shrimp taco arrived first, followed by the fish taco approximately 15 minutes later. The remainder of my order was delayed further. When I inquired about the staggered service--both across our table and within individual orders--the server explained that the kitchen operates with only two cooks: one assigned to cold items and the other to hot items. This explanation did not align with our order, as very few cold items had been requested. After approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, one member of our party had yet to receive his entrée (octopus), despite ordering at the same time as the rest of the group. At that point, he chose to cancel his order. Given the extended delays and lack of coordination, our group ultimately decided to leave the restaurant. We subsequently chose to dine elsewhere. Based on this experience, I would strongly encourage others to consider alternative dining options unless they are prepared for prolonged wait times and inconsistent service. And the food taste also missed the mark, the food was bland and not very appetizing.

I had the steak quesadilla, my wife had the bruschetta and we split a slice of key lime pie. Everything was cooked well and had wonderful flavor. The pie was so good we got an extra slice to go. Our server was friendly and made us feel welcome. She told us the pie was made in house, she likes to watch them juice the lines for it. It was a nice "high end" atmosphere that made it feel fancy. Our waiter, Raul, came to the table, and the birthday guest ordered a glass of wine and water. We placed appetizer and dinner orders and waited with high expectations based on previous positive experiences. The fish tacos were flavorful, but the salsa was extremely spicy. My mother-in-law asked if there was a mild salsa option, and we were told no, but pico de gallo could be brought instead. However, another staff member later returned and said pico had already been added to the tacos. I ordered the pork chops, which were overly salted. Another guest ordered a medium-rare steak, but the steak arrived looking well done and charred on the edges. When cut into, it was completely brown inside and difficult to chew. Waiter Raul took the plate to the back, then returned with the steak already cut and stated that the chef said it was cooked correctly and still a small shade of pink. He also said that if another steak was made, we would need to pay for it. I was very disappointed by how this was handled. My father-in-law chose to keep a positive attitude for the birthday celebration and tried to eat the steak anyway. Unfortunately, nothing was done regarding the overly salted pork chops either. The fish and chips were tasty, but when vinegar was requested, it was brought to the table and later added as an extra charge. Dessert was brought to the birthday guest, but we had to flag down the waiter again to request dessert for another guest at the table. Overall, this celebration was disappointing due to poor food quality, lack of accommodation with issues brought to staff attention, and unsatisfactory customer service. approached waiter Raul and mentioned that he could have been more attentive and courteous to our table. We still left the same tip we usually do 20%, although, based on the service we received, it was not deserved.

But what you'll find is a 5 star restaurant once you step inside. They have patio dining as well as tables inside. Each meal is prepared and plated with culinary skill. On this day, I had the curry shrimp and veggies. A sort of deconstructed Thai yellow curry dish. The plating made all the difference. The plate was served with a shaped mound of rice in the middle, with sauteed vegetables around the edges, green beans, carrots, zucchinis, onions, peppers and 8 shrimp placed around the plate on top of the veggies. The Yellow curry was poured over the rice for a unique plating. The shrimp were cooked nicely and everything was delicious. I have never had a disappointing meal in this place. I sat near the front door and had a duel with a relentless fly for a while that was a little annoying. But hey, sometime we deal with things in life for the greater good. The restaurant is clean and has a nice feel. I gave the girl who seated us my credit card and asked her to charge us as it was our treat. (At the end of our dinner, our waitress handed our neighbors the bill with our credit card.... It was uncomfortable and awkward). We were given each a slice of bread (very good). We each ordered a cocktail and chatted for a bit. We ordered the following: a seafood gumbo, fettuccine seafood Alfredo, pesto pasta, and a pesto pasta with shrimp, a Cesar salad and a spinach salad. It took awhile to get our food. The spinach salad was good. I would have it again. We ate and talked more. Paid our bill and left. The server delivered two plates of pesto pasta which shrimp although we only ordered one with shrimp. Our friend said he'd keep it. My complaint: the pesto pasta was terrible, and I don't say that lightly. It was barely warm, dry with the pesto sauce as if it had been re-warmed, the shrimp was almost too salted to eat (and I like salt), and there was a small pile of veggies on top of it all to give it color but even these were wilted and looked/tasted old. The seafood gumbo and the seafood fettuccine were both liked and seemed freshly put together. Now-I really wanted to say something but chose not to because we were just meeting our new neighbors and didn't want to complain about the meal in front of them. But, when we got into the car-our new friends commented that his pesto pasta was not warm and really not good at all. His comment lead to my review. Two of us had the same opinion. The dinner was good, but nothing was great. River City Grill wasn't a gem of a place tonight. We most likely won't give it another try and I doubt our neighbors will be back.
