Nov, 2025. Yuma, AZ. My husband and I were traveling between Palm Springs, CA and Tucson, AZ, and we decided to eat lunch in Yuma as this was roughly the half-way point on our journey. Given the proximity of Yuma to Mexico, we decided that we wanted to eat "authentic" Mexican food. We then turned to Yelp to identify Mexican restaurants with good reviews and in close proximity to I-8, which is what brought us to Tacos Mi Rancho. The restaurant was easy to find, but every single parking space was already taken; we were able to park on the adjacent side street for free and without incident. The restaurant was busy but there were a few small tables for two available. We were greeted promptly by our friendly waitress, and we were given menus and she took our drink orders. Another server immediately brought a bowl of tortilla chips and tasty salsa (gratis). My husband and I both ordered from the "Senior Citizen Portions" menu for those aged 62 Years and Older. All entrees include beans, rice, and salad for $12.50. (Note that the entrees that we selected, as well as some other menu offerings and pozole, are on special on Friday's, the day that we visited. They were $10.99 each). My husband ordered #11, two chicken enchiladas, while I got the #12, one chili relleno/one rolled taco. I also got a horchata (a sweet and creamy non-alcoholic beverage made primarily from rice, cinnamon, and vanilla), which was served in a huge glass with ice; no refills ($3.99). We split our entrees, and all of the food was well-portioned and tasty. We felt that the meals were a good value. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that the tastes were similar to those at our local Mexican restaurant back home in Virginia. The restaurant is in an old, nondescript building, but is tastefully decorated with a Mexican theme. It was clean, and workers wiped down the tables immediately after patrons left. One pet peeve was that the final bill that was given to us included only the total, so it was difficult to know whether it was correct or not. The total was $28.67, before taxes. We were able to reproduce this total as: 2 entrees at $10.99 each + 1 horchata ($3.99) + Yuma and Arizona taxes ($2.70, @ 10.41%). Overall rating: 4.5, rounded up to 5.0. read more

I have ate here many times over the years when I visit Yuma. The restaurant is small, but delicious and the service is always wonderful. I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal! The ambiance is casual and welcoming. This time I got the enchiladas meal with two cheese and one shredded beef. Very good and filling. read more

Loved the staff who were like family. Had a refreshing Michelada and stuffed my face with some amazing Mexican food. Had the cowboy shrimp and chiles Reilenes to start. Had the beef tamale, folded taco and beef enchilada combo. The beans were fantastic. The rice complemented the taco, tamal and enchilada well. Stopped by here on way to Tucson because of all great reviews - spot on! Great sweet service. Homemade chips & salsa - A+ took advantage of the senior/lunch special - had the chile relleno & rolled taco (requested potato & cheese) & the rojo chile w beef - oh my goodness both sooo delicious. The chile relleno was perfectly cooked & with just right amount of cheese & sauce so good really could taste the chile relleno. Nicely decorated & clean bathroom. "Based on a recommendation from TripAdvisor, I visited Taco Mi Rancho at 4701 S. 4th St., Yuma, AZ, expecting the 'best fajitas.' Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Despite an outstanding salsa, the chicken quesadilla, rice, and beans were merely average. The service had an indifferent rather than welcoming vibe, a hint I should have heeded. The main issue, however, was the chicken fajita dinner. After a 15-minute wait, I received what could only be described as a dried-out hodgepodge of chicken that looked like it came from the bottom of the pot. Visited 11/7/2023 Wow A great little Mexican Place for Breakfast and Lunch. Nice selection on the menu of homemade standard Mexican Dishes from Machaca to Chili Relleno's. Tacos we're done nicely and The Chili Relleno's we're very tasty. Good amount of seating in this Dated old building. One of the few Mexican Restaurants in Yuma that opens at 8:00am serving Breakfast. Super late post. This was in my drafts for awhile. On our way from Tucson to San Diego, I was craving tacos for lunch, so decided to give this place a try. I had the shredded beef crunchy folded tacos special with the rice and beans, and a fish taco a la carte. They were indeed great tacos! The fish was battered and had a tasty white sauce with shredded cabbage and chopped tomatoes. It went well together. The rice and beans were just average really. Service was okay. Moved to Yuma and I didn't have no luck in finding a good Authentic Mexican Restaurant, till Tacos Mi Rancho showed up on my feed. As soon as you sit down they serve you chips and salsa. Also great customer service very welcoming. I was craving Menudo that day and let me tell you the flavor was very good. My wife ordered a special they had going on chile relleno with a rolled taco plate came with rice and beans as sides. We will continue to come by and eat at this location. read more

Arguably the best Mexican dinner I've had, and I live in Tucson! Quaint but small interior. Service was generally good, but our waitress was new and brought corn instead of flour tortillas, then disappeared for a long time so our fajita order was consumed w/o tortillas. I had the combo with chile relleno and steak, and both entrees were great! The star of the evening is the salsa. I chatted with the staff a bit while paying the bill, and they claim their secret is all the ingredients are roasted, no boiling. I can believe it - you could put their salsa on cardboard and it would be great, but fortunately they have good chips. Everything was tasty and the salsa was the best - super fresh and flavorful! I could have eaten it by the spoonful, it was that good - instead, I ate way more chips than I should have, and they kept them coming. Rice and beans were also standouts, way above the usual. One of us had chicken enchiladas verdes, and the other had a chile relleno and rolled beef taco (taquito). All were hot, fresh, and good. Service was quick and friendly. Food was outstanding. Service was super quick, but lacking in welcomeness. Prices were on par with other Mexican restaurants. Very quirky yet comfortingly decorated interior. Note that it is in a run down strip mall so you may only want to dine here in daylight. read more

the price of one rolled taco is way out of line $3.50 for one skinny taco. I should of looked closer at the single price of a rolled taco.

Delicious breakfast, tamales, handmade tortillas and cafe de olla! Definitely coming back.

We got seated right away. Very friendly staff! The salsa was excellent. I wish I had a straw!! Haha I didn't care for the chips. Too thick and they a real heavy corn taste. The food was awesome. I had a cheese enchilada and a carne asada taco. We will definitely go back on our way to San Diego or coming back home. (We live in Tucson) You won't be disappointed! read more

All dinners come with rice and beans it says on the menu, we ordered our food the El patron didn't come with rice so beware to be told otherwise plates are smaller and the customer service has dropped, so sad won't be going back , not worth the money unfortunately 20$ plate had me disappointed we took our plates to go. , also they added a tip without our approval on it into the total of the overall bill, we didn't have great service we were there 15 min tops and left right when food arrived. This was my second visit to this restaurant. First time three years ago was a good experience. So the next time when I was in Yuma 2-8-25 I took my wife there. What a big mistake. After I was seated 15 minutes went by I stood up to get a menu . Poor service. Do not get the two small chili relleno diner order . You will be disappointed. This restaurant would not last in San Diego. I hope the owner will correct their issues. read more

Nice authentic Mexican food. Not too far off the 8 freeway at the entrance to the city. Is a little hole in the wall but from all the nice Mexican restaurants to choose from, this place hasn't disappointed any of the times we've been here. The tables are small and only indoor seating ( it's Yuma, have you been here in summer? they don't want people frying outside, haha). The atmosphere gives you such chill vibes from all the patrons. Ranchera music playing in the background matches the old ranch decor. They have bathrooms and even though they're tiny, they're are kept clean which is always a plus. I have never been helped by a more enthusiastic and genuinely nice waitress. I wish I had her name. Her smile was infectious and she refilled our chip and salsa without being asked. As if this was not enough, the food was bomb. Homemade corn tortillas nice and warm. The plates were generously served. We ordered carne asada plate and steak ranchero with a side of chille relleno. i frequently have to go look in on the fam in az and this is our goto when we need a quick burrito spot. we always have doggies with us so sadly we have never dined inside but everything we've had has been exemplary and we always gather up a jug of salsa and a bag of homemade chips to take with us on our journey to tucson. love the pork chile verde burrito and the chile rellenos and there are a bunch of other stuff we've tried and nothing has left us wanting. mother in law actually had a great burger the last two times. read more

Food was excellent especially the chili rellenos... not too far off hwy 8. Waitress was friendly. Parking was good. Go before noon to avoid the rush. They have a senior menu that doubles for a lunch menu during the week. The outside is dated... really dated... and if I hadn't checked it out on yelp, I would not have stopped. We got there and it wasn't very busy. They sat us down right away and then proceeded to ignore us for approximately 10 minutes. I finally flagged a waiter down and he apologized and got us menus. I ordered steak and eggs without seasoning because of allergies. (I asked if it was possible they said "yes, no problem". When they brought it out it looked great but after the first bite my tounge started to hurt and itch. I asked her again about it and she said "let me ask the kitchen". Of course they seasoned it. She didn't apologize, she didn't take it off the bill or anything. So yes the eggs were eaten but not the way I wanted to end my weekend. Thanks for the GI issues. read more

We stop here on our way to Tucson often. We are absolutely addicted to the chile verde burrito and the al pastor & asada combo burrito. The salsa is delicious and has a fresh taste of oregano and a bit of a (great) bite. The chips are warm and hearty enough to hold a big scoop of salsa. The shrimp burrito is also great - ask for lemons and extra white sauce for it. I'll take some ribbing for this but someone in our party ordered a bacon cheeseburger on our last visit and it was SO great! We do take out but the counter service is wonderful. The ladies behind the counter are super kind and helpful. The restroom is tiny - you can barely fit inside, but it is very clean. read more

We were in town for work and found this little gem. All I can say is if you like AUTHENTIC FRESH Mexican food...... No need to search anywhere else! We forgot to take a picture of the DELICIOUS margaritas and the yummy homemade churro the little one had for dessert. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Our server Itzel would get 20!!! They say you can tell a good place by the number of cars in the parking lot and this place was packed. It's small and mainly caters to locals. I gave it a 5 star because they served excellent food and it was authentic. Both of us ordered the Taco salad but got al pastor (pork) instead of chicken, which was delicious. The salad was served in a tortilla shell that was fried in-house in fresh oil. The salsa was spicy, but not too hot and served with homemade chips. Service was very good. The bathroom was old, but that just added to the character of the place. read more
