I have been in Yuma 6 months and honestly have not been impressed with the food- until my boss got this for lunch during a company meeting 3 weeks ago. Since then, I have come back twice. The rolled tacos are amazing. Topped with lettuce, cheese, guacamole, pico, your choice of salsa and lime juice- they are so good! And yes some may say expensive, but fast food is expensive now...even the mess at Taco Bell. For 2 dollars more you can have restaurant quality food. Don't let the drive through fool you! It's great! Okay I can't rate on service or ambiance as my girlfriend came home with lunch, so this is totally based on the food. The El Cochi (without pico, since I've got THAT cilantro gene) is so good I wanted to cry after my first bite. I think angels were singing on my tongue. Nothing should taste this good and still be legal. Been looking for some great tacos in Yuma and I've come to figure that out that many restaurants don't season their meat. BURROS AND FRIES HOWEVER they had amazing steak, and grilled chicken tacos. They also gave me some consome and green sauce. It was all was amazing. I would definitely say watch what you order because the price stacks up quick but the lady was nice and negotiated with me for the pricing. It was great and I would definitely go back. I did not go inside however the drive through taco spot? I have not seen and thoroughly enjoy it. You'd think with drive through tacos maybe the food would be cold? Lukewarm? NOPE! We found this place, during our weekend trip. Initially, we were heading to one of the other nearby eateries but this attracted us. Once inside, we noticed the place well maintained and welcoming. It resembled more of a fast food chain than your topical Mexican restaurant though. The menu offers a variety of meat choices while keeping it simple. The kids went with their birria street tacos, my wofe went with a California burro while I kept it simple ordering a carne asada burro. The kids also ordered plain fries. We were shocked how well everything tasted! Their birria was on point. The prices are a bit on the higher end but the flavor is great. This was my first time coming here, and it was absolutely delicious!!! I can't wait to go back again. I might have been there between their lunch and dinner rush, so we had the whole place to ourselves. The menu was fantastic, and it allowed you to add or take away from whatever you were ordering. I ordered the "La Abuela" which was a burrito with chili relleno in it. I subtracted the rice and added extra cheese, and shrimp. Let me just tell you, it was amazing!!! They also have a nice little salsa bar, nothing fancy, but it was all we needed. All the salsas were very tasty, and fresh. I feel like they are probably still an undiscovered gem, but I will definitely be letting friends know about them. One last thing before I close. Their burritos are HUGE! We had an amazing experience at Burros and Fries! The customer service was excellent from the moment we walked in. My husband immediately noticed how clean and well-kept the place was, which made us feel very comfortable. The green pozole was the bomb! So flavorful and comforting. My husband ordered the red and chipotle chilaquiles, and honestly it was hard to decide which dish was the winner because everything was so good. What turned me off (this was my first visit ever) was the cashier thought it was ok to not give me all of my change. I've been going to Burros and Fries in El Cajon for years whenever I'm passing through. So when I heard they were opening one in Yuma, I was stoked. They have an extensive burrito menu with so many options that it's hard to pick one. I usually get the Tijuana burrito. It is a carne asada burrito with Anaheim peppers and a creamy sauce. Overall I liked it and will try it again. Their app didn't allow me to use ApplePay, even though it shows it as the default pay method, so I had to enter a credit card. When I picked up my food it was missing the drink, an agua de pepino. After showing my receipt to the cashier she said they don't even sell that and she's not sure why I was able to order it on the app. I had to get Jamaica instead. The order besides that was correct and the cashier was friendly. The inside of the store was not as busy as I expected. It looked clean and had tables available. The food was ok. My fish tacos were bigger than I expected and the flavor was good. My rolled tacos were ok but honestly i probably wouldn't order them again. They were on the bland side and slightly soggy. They'd be better if the meat had any seasoning or even salt, and had been fried a bit longer. The birria was good. I just feel like everything was a bit on the bland side. Their salsas are bland too. I tried the B&F and the habanero and they both tasted about the same with no spice. I think the value for the money is not bad. It's not cheap but not overly expensive considering the portion sizes. The menu's prices are some of the more better prices you can get in Yuma, For 13 dollars you can get a California burrito that's the size of a human head. And the food itself is absolutely delicious, I catch myself craving something from this buisness multiple times a week, from their delicious Carne Asada and Adobada Street Tacos, to the California burrito, to their absolutely divine Potato tacos and Chicken Rolled tacos. But the best aspect of the restraunt is the service, Burros and Fries has the most friendliest, kind hearted, patient and genuinely best customer service in Yuma. My first time going here I had the absolute pleasure of being helped by 2 phenomenal employees named Abraham and Angela, they took their time with me explaining the menu to me, recommending me items and just genuinely have a kindness you don't get from any other restraunt in yuma, they both took my order modifications with no issue whatsoever and double checked my bags for me. Then I also had the pleasure my second time coming to thie restraunt with 2 other employees named Sirley and Xasha, again they were just so sweet and kind and patient. Even something as mundane as paying is a joy at this restraunt, because the employees make you feel like you're talking to a friend. Please if youre in Yuma check out this business, give them your patronage, the employees work so hard and put in so much effort to make simply delicious food while serving the customer with a kind and friendly face.
