Heard about this place so had to stop on the way to San Diego. Little place buried among houses in Yuma. I guess it used to sell groceries too but now it's a full on restaurant. Ordered the ultimate meat burrito. AWESOME! Comes with ham, bacon, potatoes, egg, cheese, and sausage. Definitely recommend this burrito. I swear it weighed like 2-3 lbs! Massive! And delicious! They have two types of hot sauce. Red which had great flavor and green which was good too and had more spice. On the way home to Phoenix, I stopped again. This time got the carne asada. Comes with carne, rice, beans, cabbage, and pico. It was good but liked the ultimate better. Just as huge though. Wow! Well needless to say, it will be go to stop on the way to California. We were looking for someplace new to stop at in Yuma on our way to Phoenix for a quick breakfast. This was one of the places that was recommended on yelp for breakfast burritos. My husband and I split the Machaca burrito. I ordered it with just Machaca and egg but it came with the potatoes inside too. Which was fine. It is huge. And definitely worth the price. We didn't even finish it and had enough for a whole other burrito. Unfortunately they don't use the giant tortillas that we get in San Diego. Unfortunately the tortilla didn't stay together at all. We ended up having to eat it with a fork. We did get a second tortilla and the remainder of the filling was put in that one. We had it the next day for breakfast. Flavor wise it was okay. We have a favorite shop in Poway that makes the absolute best Machaca so we always compare other places with it. This was a 7 out of 10 flavor wise. It was not juicy and needed salsa to add flavor to it. Texture wise we have never had one before that was so crumbly. Didn't care for that. When we walked in there was not one there at the counter or in the shop. I could hear someone talking in the back. I had to go back and let them know we were here. The salsa bar.... Two choices red or verde was not a great set up. The flavor of them was fine. The verde is very spicy. I would go back and try something different. These burrito are filling and can be enjoyed for breakfast and lunch. Parking is a bit limited to rough (6) stalls in the front, and a few on the right side of the structure near the trash cans. Upon entering you'll notice a full menu displayed on the tv monitors, yet you've gotta read quick, because the menu changes quickly. Suggestion adjust the speak of the menu changing. Typically it takes people 10 seconds to review menu and digest information. Overall burrito were very tasty and filling with full of flavoring. Stopped in for a burrito today after hearing amazing things from multiple Yuma locals and Stan's did not disappoint! There's clearly a reason they've been voted Yuma's Best so many times. My burrito was MASSIVE. I ordered the bacon and egg, and I bet this thing had 6 scrambled eggs and 6 pieces of bacon in it! (Probably not that much, but it was heavy and huge so maybe.) I ate less than half and was stuffed, so I was able to share the rest with my husband and toddler. One burrito fed my entire family breakfast, haha! Not to mention it was really tasty too. I didn't need to add any extra salsa or cheese or anything- the flavor was already great on its own! I look forward to coming back and trying more burritos for sure. The service was so quick and the woman that took our order was incredibly sweet. Let me start with this place was always a family favorite for burritos. We would take our family from out of town and everything but after these last two visits have made it to where we will probably never return. We loved the family feel in the environment and how friendly the ladies were in the back and in the front, the food is always super hot and fresh. 1st of all we went and they didn't even have rice and still had 3 hours before they closed. They were changing around the building. Then this last they didn't even have carne asada. How can you have burritos and not offer carne asada. The gentleman at the counter had no customer service. He wasn't friendly he didn't care about his customers at all... it now makes you feel like you're just a dollar sign to them and they want you to hurry up and take your food and get out. Trust me I couldn't wait to leave after we felt like this and we would go there so often that the ladies would know our order and now we will probably never return after these two experiences. Then the cost of the food went up way more than you would imagine, I understand inflation, but it was crazy. It doesn't feel family owned anymore it's feels like any other burrito place.... Nothing about this place stands out anymore. It is sad because in Yuma there really isn't that many good spots and this was one for he stop and having back to back visits not be good was disappointing. read more
