Carne asada torta and fries on one plate and beef folded tacos, rice and beans on the other.
Holly P.

Hands-down, Manjarres is the best authentic food we have found here in Yuma! We love Manjarres so much that we visit Manjarres at least once a week. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, very welcoming staff and the food is always on point! Big portions and always fresh. Manjarres never disappoints!! Everything is just so good! From the posole to the menudo, carnitas tortas, carne asada tortas, taco plates all the way to the desserts!! I think you get the gist of what I'm saying. I give Manjares 5 stars!!

It was good, especially for a large group. Very tasty and hot, not spicy hot. This is a great place to eat for travelers because it's not far from highway

Tub of oil they call pozole! Damn shame
Ruben R.

The most disgusting and lame excuse of mexican food Especially being so close to the borde! the pozole is straight oil with meat and grain, the tortillas were raw not even heated up! The food was so bland and flavorless! no veggies to even go with pozole! No onions, cilantro, lemon nothing! Called them and they said the best they can do is credit for another meal i said no thank you! Never again!

Pepe's Special (pork in tomatillo sauce). Flavor is insane!
Chris L.

I can only speak to my one visit, which is based on my experience with what the waitress suggested: Pepe's special, which is the pork in tomatillo sauce, but it gets six stars. Incredible flavor--rich, beautifully spiced, and so, so succulent. I wish I lived locally; I'd eat it daily. I should probably call them and see if they'll ship me some. I like to think I'm a self-proclaimed Mexican food connoisseur, having grown up in Southern California and having eaten Mexican food not only all across the Southwest (from Cal-Mex to Tex-Mex to the awesome culinary treat that is New Mexican cuisine) but across the entire United States and a good chunk of Mexico (from Zacatecas to Oaxaca and the Yucatan). The dish I had at Los Manjares de Pepe was unlike anything I've had anywhere else. Sure, the flavors and spices were ones I've encountered in Mexican cuisine both in Mexico and across the Mexican diaspora, but the fusion of those spices in the rich and heavenly sauce took it to the next level. I literally had to stop myself from licking the plate clean. This will definitely be on my must-eat-at list next time I'm anywhere in the region. I never thought I'd love Yuma so much but I had a blast hanging out there for an afternoon driving east, swimming in the Colorado River and then enjoying dinner here. I will definitely be back!

Chile Relleno With beans and rice

We ate here last night and it was the best Mexican food I've had in a long time! Their chips and salsa is top of this world. I can't say enough about the Chile Relleno's!! My husband had the Pepe's special which is the pork with the tomatillo sauce...always amazing! They have senior specials that are priced so reasonable. We have not eaten here in a long time because of the decline in the restaurant! But they have done a nice job redoing the place. My husband took me here on our first date and now I will continue to come here again!

Pepe's special burrito enchilada

This hole in a wall restaurant in Yuma, az is full of surprises. The Pepe's special pork with tomatillo is unbelievably good. melt in the mouth slow cooked pork with bold flavor of roasted chilli red sauce. Sopa de Birria is very good too. The beef is really simmered for a while and brings out the richness in the broth. I asked for a roasted jalapenos and thought im gonna get a cold roasted jalapenos like most of the mexican restaurant, but its not. They took time to cut some jalapenos and toss it in the grill and brushed it with vinegar, pepper and salt. it was still hot when it came out. This is the kind of restaurant that the owners really put their heart and pride on what they serve. There's no cutting corners. Not many places like this to be found anymore. All this awesomeness only cost me $14. Luckly i live a few hundred miles away or i would get chubby easily from this place. Salud for Los Manjares De Pepe.

White Menudo

Where do I even begin? Los Manjares De Pepe is the only restaurant I've tried in Yuma so I can't very well claim that this is the best Mexican food anyone can find in Yuma. IF this place is indeed the best Mexican food in Yuma, it would be tragic. But then again, not everyone has a Mexican Mom-in-law who cooks like an angel. The restaurant is on the small side and the interior reminded me of Mexican home that I've seen on some cheesy telenovela. It was rather homey and I quite like it. I had a bowl of White Menudo and Pepe's special. BF had Asada, Eggs & Nopales Burrito. Menudo was very lightly flavored. It had a lot of hominy and very little tripe. Usually I like Menudo but this was a little flavorless for me even with all the condiments I've added. Pepe's special consists of Pork in tomatillo sauce, frijoles, scrambled eggs, potatoes and salad. I had high hopes for Pork in tomatillo sauce but it was really disappointing. The fresh tomatillo sauce was nice but tasted one-dimensional. Frijoles was very good - definitely not canned beans. Scrambled eggs and potatoes were both okay. I didn't touch the salad. BF's breakfast burrito was massive in size! It was also massively disappointing in taste. Eggs and Nopales were both overcooked. Food were more like 2 stars but service was fast and friendly so I'm adding another star.

Across the board -just fair. Disappointed in the flavor of the food. The cheese on my husband's plate wasn't even melted! Too bad!

Nov, 2025. Yuma, AZ. My husband and I were traveling between Palm Springs, CA and Tucson, AZ, and…read morewe decided to eat lunch in Yuma as this was roughly the half-way point on our journey. Given the proximity of Yuma to Mexico, we decided that we wanted to eat "authentic" Mexican food. We then turned to Yelp to identify Mexican restaurants with good reviews and in close proximity to I-8, which is what brought us to Tacos Mi Rancho. The restaurant was easy to find, but every single parking space was already taken; we were able to park on the adjacent side street for free and without incident. The restaurant was busy but there were a few small tables for two available. We were greeted promptly by our friendly waitress, and we were given menus and she took our drink orders. Another server immediately brought a bowl of tortilla chips and tasty salsa (gratis). My husband and I both ordered from the "Senior Citizen Portions" menu for those aged 62 Years and Older. All entrees include beans, rice, and salad for $12.50. (Note that the entrees that we selected, as well as some other menu offerings and pozole, are on special on Friday's, the day that we visited. They were $10.99 each). My husband ordered #11, two chicken enchiladas, while I got the #12, one chili relleno/one rolled taco. I also got a horchata (a sweet and creamy non-alcoholic beverage made primarily from rice, cinnamon, and vanilla), which was served in a huge glass with ice; no refills ($3.99). We split our entrees, and all of the food was well-portioned and tasty. We felt that the meals were a good value. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that the tastes were similar to those at our local Mexican restaurant back home in Virginia. The restaurant is in an old, nondescript building, but is tastefully decorated with a Mexican theme. It was clean, and workers wiped down the tables immediately after patrons left. One pet peeve was that the final bill that was given to us included only the total, so it was difficult to know whether it was correct or not. The total was $28.67, before taxes. We were able to reproduce this total as: 2 entrees at $10.99 each + 1 horchata ($3.99) + Yuma and Arizona taxes ($2.70, @ 10.41%). Overall rating: 4.5, rounded up to 5.0.

The ambiance is casual and welcoming. This time I got the enchiladas meal with two cheese and one shredded beef. Very good and filling.
