Been coming here for over a decade now. The quality of the food is better than most takeout places. I love the newer additions of Thai food and the sushi-go-round. Staff is always friendly. I do miss the days of the guy singing "Happy Birthday" for someone celebrating. It was always fun to listen to. The Mongolian BBQ is nice. I like how you kind of make your own sauce from the individual ingredients. I went recently with a large group of very picky eaters and there was something for everyone. Chinese, Japanese, Mongolian BBQ, Pho, Sushi, American, Thai. I tried BLT Sushi last time and I was surprised at how good it was. It was a roll with bacon, lettuce and tomato inside with more bacon and a spicy sauce on top. Nontraditional but sooooo delicious! As AYCE Chinese buffets go, this one has a lot going for it. They have Chinese food, Thai food (including make-your-own soup), Japanese teppanyaki (on the buffet, not on your table), a Mongolian grill, and a surprisingly top-notch sushi bar. Also desserts and scoopable Hershey's ice cream. The worst of the lot (which still wasn't bad) was the teppanyaki fare. The teriyaki they use is SUPER salty. Another nice thing about this place is that when they say "spicy", they mean it. Especially on the sushi rolls. Did I mention it's fairly cheap? It's also very well appointed inside - it looks like an upscale restaurant. Five stars as buffets go. read more

Peking Restaurant is everything that Chinese buffets should aspire to, and more. Not only does this restaurant have the traditional staples, but also features a well stocked bar, a massive hibachi, and a sushi train. I came with a group of 7 after a day at Busch Gardens, arriving at around 7:00 - the restaurant was mostly full, but the staff was courteous and put together two tables for us once they became available. Our waitress was prompt and efficient, bringing us our drinks quickly, and without mixing up which drinks went where. The drinks were delicious and had plenty of alcohol: I had a Neo-Buddha, which I would recommend. I started my meal with a bowl of miso and some sushi, and was impressed. The variety of rolls was ample, and everything was fresh. Next, I had wonton soup, which was made for me at a soup station. The wontons and spinach, which I opted for, was cooked and then added to broth as I waited. The spinach was a bit large for the bowl, but everything was flavorful. After my soup, I tried the hibachi. I chose a bowl consisting of noodles, mushrooms, bean sprouts, carrots, steak, and several sauce elements, which was then cooked to perfection in front of me. Everything was delicious. Finally, we sampled some associated elements of the buffet, including an egg roll, crab rangoon, General Tso's chicken, and sesame balls, all of which were well prepared. I especially recommend the sesame balls, as they were some of the best I have had. In summary, I was very pleased with Peking Restaurant - the staff was courteous and efficient, the drinks were generous and well made, and the food was excellent. I LOVED this place. I'm usually not a big fan of AYCE Chinese buffets but we returned to this place TWICE on our vacation! Like others have stated, they have the Mongolian grill where you choose your own meats and veggies and they cook it in front of you with two large wooden dowels. Their Chinese buffet is extensive and the sushi isn't the greatest but they do have a large selection. The Thai bar has make your own soup which wasn't great for a hot day. Their bubble tea wasn't really "tea" but moreso bubble slushie. It was flavored slushie and frozen tapioca. WONDERFUL and INEXPENSIVE BUFFET! (It was only $11.50 for the evening buffet) My wife and I decided to try out Peking while in Williamsburg for our first anniversary. We read the reviews here on Yelp and saw that people liked it, but didn't realize just how enormous and high quality the buffet really is... it's huge, like Texas huge. They have five buffet lines (Mongolian Grill, Sushi, Japanese, Chinese, and... I forget, maybe Thai?) that are filled with innumerable very tasty dishes - we didn't have room to sample all of them. The quality of each dish was very high for a buffet, but we found the Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes to be our least favorites... but again, they were very nice, and especially for a buffet! When I go back again, I personally will focus on the Mongolian grill and the Sushi, but everyone is sure to find many things that they'll like. read more

My family and I were in the mood for Chinese one night while on vacation and thought we would try this place out. The description made it sound amazing and like something we needed to try. The facility was nice, and so was the decorations. The buffet looked pretty big too so we were excited. However when we got up to make our plate we were a little disappointed at the choice of selections There wasn't really anything that we have had before and were expecting, and the food was somewhat bland. If you are in the mood for Asian and you have a number of people with you, there is something here for everyone. 12.99 per person for dinner includes everything. The sushi train was fun to watch. Rolls are average. The buffet was about the same as any Asian buffet I have been to. The Mongolian BBQ part was what I found the best. 7-8 proteins (tho the little shrimp floating in ice water did not look appetizing. There isn't a lot of veggies to choose from but the states are here. And honestly, too many item I think, doesn't make your dinner better. Tasted great. I added garlic water, a touch of ginger water, sesame oil and Mongolian sauce. The noise. Oh the noise. Sounds like a plane is landing the entire time. "$11.99 buffet, the food is so-so, but more than expected" If u went to this restaurant, u should choose buffet rather than order from the menu. They provides various kinds of food for the buffet. Some are cooked in front you. Like the Mongolian Grill (I like this the most, u put the materials u want to eat in your bowl, the chef will cook it on a super big round iron plate), Sushi Train, Dan- dan Noodles and Japanese Hibachi. Some are prepared in the kitchen: Thai food, Chinese food, soup (at least 5 choices), fruits and desserts. Some things I "do not" like: 1. For the sushi train, they put only 1or 2 salmon/tuna sushi 2~3 minutes once. You need to walk to the upstream of the train, or you will never have the chance to get them. (High price sushi is very rare on the train, most are the something like cucumber roll) 2. They serve summer roll, but the content is so so (cabbage and noodles) 3. The seafood is not that fresh. (The clams are good, but crabs smells) No matter what, for the $11.99, it is very worth to give it a try. (While there is no many choices in Williamsburg......) Do not expect to have the same quality as the buffet in Vegas! The buffet here is only $12 ( p.s the beverages is charged, but could be refilled)! Utterly the worst Chinese buffet I have ever had the displeasure of spending money on. The bar drinks were tasty and the waiter was quick and courteous. This wasn't enough to distract from the food that seemed to have been out for quite some time. Noodles were dry; potstickers met a similar fate. I have had much much better chicken and broccoli out of a grocery store freezer section. The sushi was of similar quality to other buffets I have attended. Ok, so I went into this place really hoping to like it a lot. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The sushi train is just a bunch of dressed up california rolls. Plus the rolls that I pulled out were pretty warm. This concerns me because raw fish should always be cold. I ate them anyways throwing caution to the wind and they weren't bad but I have certainly had better. The chinese buffet sucked...everything was overcooked, or dry, or generally gross. The chicken options were especially disgusting. The one saving grace of the place was the mongolian BBQ section. I have definitely had better but it certainly was not bad at all. Food was absolutely horrible! Im a local and have been eating there for 40 years. Over the years the food has progressively gone down hill. I was unable to eat anything I chose. I decided to get some ice cream. My friend requested the manager. (Just to note, we are not the type of ladies to try and get something for free.) We both worked in the restaurant industry for years. Manager - Cindy was very rude. In normal restaurants- it is customary to try and please the customer. Not in our case. She tried to bargain with us on the price. Everyone recommended this place for Chinese food during my stay in Williamsburg so I figured it can't be that bad right? Walking in on a hot summer day I was treated to a nice sauna in here. I'm sure it would have done wonders for my skin but I don't like the idea of my food sitting around in warm humid environment. Based on the reviews of this place and the fact that I love me some pan-Asian buffets, I had high expectations and I hoped I would like it a lot. But I can really sum my review up in one sentence: If this is your primary exposure to Thai and Japanese (or even Chinese) food, this place will probably be fine; if you are used to eating these cuisines at stand-alone (non-buffet) places, you may be disappointed. When a place offers a ton of different cuisines, it makes me worry if any of them will be particularly great. That seemed to be the problem here. Lots of variety, but nothing seemed to be particularly good. I didn't go back for seconds of anything but nigiri and some offerings just confused me (a whole category for beef, pork and chicken sushi?). Of the different features, the highlight was the Mongolian grill. Their lunch buffets are reasonable, the selection is massive, the servers are always there to take your dirty dishes away, replenish your beverages and ask how everything is. Came here for my birthday. Drove 1 1/2 hours to get here. This was my favorite asian buffets. I came here for many years and recommended it to many people. Man.... has this place gone downhill. Dishes poorly flavored, lack of pork and beef dishes. The Q has been taken out of quality. This will be my last trip here. It is much too far to drive for food like this. This happens to a lot of good buffets who cut corners. I was kind by giving two stars. 60 percent of the buffet trays were about empty. The noodles on the Japanese bar tasted old and were cold. This is not what I have been used to in the years I have come here. One last gem has become a thing of the past. I would have rather they charged more an maintained the quality. read more

Had lunch here today, and we liked it. General's chicken with big pieces of white meat was very good. My wife really liked the sesame chicken. But the honey chicken sauce needs to be remade. It tastes like coated deep fried chicken dipped in mayonnaise. Went to the Mongolian grill, and it was good also. Loaded up my bowl with mushrooms, onions, green pepper, steak and chicken, and it was cooked just right. My Mom & Dad liked the garlic spinach, and Mom said the egg drop soup was delicious. I got some potstickers, and some warm "soy sauce" dip that was on the buffet for the potstickers, and I really liked that. None of us care for sushi, so I can't comment on the "sushi train". I think the best offerings are from the Mongolian Grill, the Thai and Sushi, while the standard fare Chinese foods are just so-so at best. Service ranges from good to spotty and in fact on my last visit I calculated the tip to the penny, which tells you how unhappy I was. Now for the record I have also been here when the buffet is closed, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the entree I had. I've been going to this place for I guess 15 years. During a beach trip one year, we stopped here at the suggestion of a friend who grew up in Williamsburg. Back then, the only thing was featured was the Mongolian and not all of the other buffet items. What I remember the most was that I think it was under $5 back then and coming from D.C., we thought what an incredible bargain. Sitting there with a bunch of hungry dudes who have no shame at AYCEs, we chowed down like animals. Fast forward a few years and they annexed a little more of the shopping center and voila, a larger buffet. Fast forward and now its a behemoth of a buffet and its own destination with a zipcode. It's strange to see almost every Asian food represented but there it is, some sushi (crappy American stuff), hibachi steaks, noodle soup stand, buffet line and of course the old familiar Mongolian grill. Mind you, the food is nothing to write home about but the value is incredible and if you are hungry and don't want to spend too much, it's the place to go. My kids are not that discerning yet after all. Last time we dropped by it was with a bunch of martial artists after an all day workshop and we were famished so we REALLY put a hurting on the place. If you stick to the hibachi steak, Mongolian BBQ, with a heaping bowl of rice, that is all you need and then it is really beyond critique. All of the other stuff is for the less discriminating eater so it serves them very well. My family came down to Williamsburg to go to Busch Gardens. My mother wanted Good old American food. So she asks the hotel dude where's a good place to go. He says Regular American Food? Like Chinese food? My mother just give him a look. So he tells us the names of 2 steak houses. Then we take a look at the restaurant book and we find Peking restaurant. Sushi Train? YES PLEASE! (So much for good old American food) Ok, So This place is huge to look at on the outside and the inside. They call it Asian Fusion, I call it Asian Mixture. Here's the reason, Asian Fusion refers to the food style not the restaurant style. These people have Sushi, Chinese food, Thai food, and Mongolian Hibachi. It's not a fusion. These are completely separate types of foods served in 1 buffet. Food: 3/5 Stars. The problem with serving so many different types of food is that you get a lot of variety and yet so little variety. Let me explain. The Mongolian Hibachi was pretty standard, noodles, toppings and meat. Chinese food was the most variety, but it was a mix of American Chinese food and maybe a smattering of real Chinese food that most American wouldn't be able to tell the difference and is just normal looking enough that they'll eat it. (Let me just say now that I am a self proclaimed Chinese Food Snob.) For the Thai food, there were mostly sweet dessert types of food and noodles. The Sushi Train was a basically a california roll with different stuff thrown on top to make "different" rolls. Like an OMG roll was a cali roll with some type of meat thrown on top with a sauce thrown over the meat! Ok, I'm seriously not trying to sound overly picky here. The food was alright for a buffet place, and the mongolian hibachi was kinda cool. Although one of the cooks accidentally threw one guy's food all over the floor (not my food thankfully). It was fun to watch them nevertheless. Service! 5/5 stars. Our server's name was Jackie. She's cool. She was really attentive, and nice. Kept our water full and the plates off our table. She was friendly and my parents loved her. Great job! Decor: 2/5 stars. The place is huge. But the way they packed the seating to get more customers in, leaves very little space for the buffet lines. I kept smacking into people left and right and I was always afraid the servers were going to accidentally bump into me with their trays full of used plates. There were so many people that you could barely move. And especially when you have your hands full of little sushi plates from the sushi train, it's just a really bad layout. Overall: 3/5 Stars. For dinner it was $11.99 per person. Not a bad price for the amount of food they give you. Quality was alright for the price too. I would suggest going early to avoid the crowd of people. The most disgusting restaurant in town. Full of roaches everywhere! The risk of food born illness is astounding! The Mongolian bar is never replaced or kept on enough ice! You'd think by now they would buy a damn cooling table. I can't imagine how many people get sick after eating here. Once I saw a dozen roaches crawl out from under the pans holding the raw meats which were so warm and disgusting. I went to restroom and barfed! Told my family to get up and leave and I did not pay. I moved to Williamsburg a year ago from Northern Virginia. I really did enjoy a majority of the foods here. i will say the flavors compared to what I am used to is extremely watered down and that is disappointing. The staff are decent but not quick. I have no qualms with this establishment and have gone 4 times now. Each time I am always sat at a random place even if the table is too big or too small to accommodate but I don't mind that. I do however mind waiting on a simple glass of water so I always order two. There is an EXTREME amount of different foods to pick from. Also the yumyum here is mayo with water. Its not like Northern Virginia where its spices and other ingredients. I think the sushi stands alone to be good on its own regardless so if you can adjust to this you will be just fine. I did thoroughly enjoy the sushi. I just wish the flavor was bolder. Overall I will go again and look forward to it. read more

We drove past this place at least five or six times and had no clue what we were missing. It's tucked away in a shopping center with a K-Mart. "This is the best Asian buffet EVER!" according to our kids. Maybe not EVER, but pretty darn close especially for the price. A great selection and an unbeatable price -- $12 for adults and $4.99-6.99 for kids. Quality was great. A surprising find. Sodas were under $2 with free refills. We've been to other AYCE Asian buffets and they usually have just a handful of offerings and the quality is usually the pits. Peking offered something for everyone -- sushi, Mongolian grill, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, several types of soup, at least five types of rice. I wish there was something like this closer to home. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Williamsburg. read more

I enjoy Chinese Buffet once in a while, but the problem with many of them, especially in NYC, is that they are so expensive, you feel you have to get at least 7 plates of food to make back what you spent. So it was surprising to find this one in a strip mall near our resort in Williamsburg. The cost for dinner was 11.95 for each person and I felt that's what warrents the 4th star. The food is okay. I'm used to having a carving table including Peking Duck, but the sushi train quite made up for it. If you are looking for gourmet food, this may not be the place to go to, but if you are looking for variety, then this is pretty good. The Mongolian Grill was pretty good, but be careful about oversaucing you food prior to having them cook it for you. It's a good rest stop place with affordability. Didn't feel the need to stuff myself since I got my money's worth pretty quickly. Don't know if I would go here everyday, or even more than once every 6 months, but if you're hungry and on a budget and tired of the stampede at Golden Corral, then you should give it a try. read more

I just had my worst time at Peking Restaurant. Used to love this place that my family drives from VA Beach to eat here. Tonight we arrive around 7 pm & a lot of the food on buffet were cold. There was hardly any rice & Thai food. I had to tell someone replacing food they were out on a lot of stuff. She acted as if I was interrupting her. There was barely any heat from sterno under Thai food. I certainly think the food temperature on a lot of dinner items would fail health food inspection. The Mongolian grill was ok. There was very little meat & didn't see anyone replacing missing food items for the grill. As for our server, he was not very attentive. I had to wait 10 minutes just for my iced tea refill. The problem was he took the glass for refill instead of bringing a pitcher & refilling tea. Then waited some more for the check & took another long time to come back to get our payment. Ok, as far as AYCE places go, this is THE best one I've been to in any state. The selection is incredible. There are more soups than I knew existed. They have a Mongolian table that was JAMMED with people waiting for freshly made food. I was blown away with the sushi selection. I sampled most of the rolls on the sushi train and they were all good. The fish was fresh, nothing tasted "fishy" or made me in any way uncomfortable in popping it in my mouth. They have unique rolls like the Sapporo roll which makes things interesting for people who are brave with trying new sushi. The chinese dishes were also great. The different types of chicken they were serving were all made with white meat and not over fried or thickly coated with batter or breading. The noodle and rice dishes were moist but not drowning in sauce or grease. Desert was lacking. They had vanilla ice cream and a few mini pastries that I didn't try. (too full from all the food!) Overall it was a great experience that I would happily repeat. The staff was fantastic and the decor is amazing. All that AND the price was great at $55 for 4 with soda, I'm sold.
