I remember stopping here last time we were in Williamsburg. On the road again, we naturally stopped at Peking Restaurant. The buffet is definitely a better alternative to fast food chains. It offers nearly every type of food you can think of-vegetables, beef, chicken, shrimp, mussels, clams, noodles, dumplings, rice, pizzas, soups, and desserts-though the dishes are neither exceptional nor authentic. For the price of a hamburger, you get a wide variety. The service was attentive and pleasant, and the price was very affordable. The restaurant is large and decorated in a traditional Chinese style. I would definitely come here again next time I'm in town.

This place is located in an older strip mall with lighting and lots of parking. The building and designer elements look older and could use some updating. The buffet has a lot of options. The staff is friendly and quick. The food is average. But the bathrooms. OMG. They are discussing, dirty, stink so awful, are falling apart, and holy mold! (see pic) If the bathrooms look like that, I'm scared to see the kitchen. IMHO, steer clear!

I found Peking Buffet's experience to be a mix of highs and lows. The service was satisfactory, the price was wallet friendly, and ingredients were fresh. Food however was so-so. Meat dishes tastes fresh but not as expected; for instance the general tso's chicken were sitting in a thin liquid sauce and tasted more boiled than wok fried. Veggetarian dishes were decently cooked but some again lacked the taste I normally associate with the dish. They had some seafood (shrimp, muscles, and clams) but lacked more fish options. They also had a sushi section but I was unsure how long the food had been sitting there. The standout was undoubtedly the Mongolian BBQ - you gather the fresh ingredients yourself, lather on sauce, and a nice and proficient chef will cook it super quick for you on a hot round cooktop. Down side is you have to flavor it yourself which could lead to some unsavory combinations. If you are unsure of how to flavor things, I suggest a nice portion of garlic, some ginger, a couple of ladles of mongolian bbq sauce, some rice wine, some seaseme oil, and some spicy sauce accordingly to your spice tolerance. The restaurant also has some interesting Chinese decor. I wasn't able to look at them too closely to check out their authenticity, but they definitely add a level of uniqueness and interest to this otherwise run-of-the-mill chinese buffett.

What a treat! If you're looking for a tasty spot for the family I highly recommend Peking Restaurant... The restaurant has beautiful and traditional Asian inspired decor, a super friendly staff, and very good/hot/fresh food! One of the best buffets I've been to in quite sometime; a ton of choices, flavorful sauces, quality ingredients...something for everyone!!! I tried a number of different items and really enjoyed them all (the sushi was my least favorite, but I would go back for the hot buffet and Korean BBQ which is most of the choices anyway). A few personal favorites were the fried dumplings, the baby bokchoi, spicy Korean pork, miso soup, and the crispy chicken choices (general Tso's, honey, orange). Our server was super sweet and friendly...she also stayed on top of us with excellent service (clearing, chatting, and refills). A must try when in the area!

Unexpected surprise. We were looking for a place to eat and we settled on Chinese and I'm glad we stopped here. The inside of the restaurant was absolutely beautiful. There is a large variety of food including pho, sushi, Mongolian and hibachi. The food was fresh and hot and there someone cleaning and putting food out constantly.

PEKING RESTAURANT Yelp, which is typically more critical than the Google Maps Crowd, had ratings all over the place - and that's how I feel too - 2.5 if I could, so 3 to be fair GOOD: Friendly hostess, good NON Chinese dishes, decor is festive and fun, and sushi was good BAD: Restaurant organization, non-present Mongolian/noodle cook, the Chinese dishes were below the quality of 16/person IMP: 16.00 for dinner person (no soda). General per pound take out was 7.99/lb Good news first - I was hoping this strip mall find would surprise to the upside. It did have positives. The fun ornamental layout was cool, the hostess was very nice and dishes like Korean beef, Thai rice and Mac n cheese with bacon were good. But if Iam eating these items, it because the traditional Chinese food was flat. The Bad news - sauce central (as I call it) was not to be found. Typically, all the sauces are all together in large quantities. They had some sauces all over and many were packets - lost time. The sushi, though good, was served via some weird conveyor belt style - two pieces per tiny plates. It felt like a dessert factory taken over by sushi - a clunky set up even the employee seemed unsure about (take the baby plates or just the sushi off them). The biggest negative was the Chinese food quality - flat, dry, or often the reverse - a meat dish floating in sauce. I would pass. At 13.99 I would be more generous but the quality is not there.

Are there a good amount of vegan options? If so, are they labeled for ease? Thank you

they're quite easy to find although most of the vegan options don't seem to be rotated very often, let alone most of the food there. it's a shame because this used to be the best chinese buffet in town at one time.

What are the prices for lunch and dinner?

Dinner is 15 dollars, lunch is 10

They only appeared to touch the frying pan for barely a minute. They had a steamed, flimsy texture, and I was going for that nice crust, which separates a pan-fried dumpling from a steamed dumpling. My server was very good but the kitchen was very slow tonight, it took almost another twenty-five minutes to get the entree out after the appetizer, and the restaurant was only moderately busy at best. The table next to me also had to wait for every course. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Even the dumplings that were under fried had good flavor. *Please be aware, which came as a shock to me, that the restaurants on that particular street are subject to a 12%to 13% percent sales tax, which was really off putting. I would still go back to Peter Chang's but probably another location because of the tax and the slow kitchen.

3.5 stars for Lodge Restaurant, the restaurant at Williamsburg Lodge…read more It's actually 3.5 stars for the Friday seafood buffet dinner. It was good. It wasn't the best, or most inventive, seafood I've had. Considering this is Williamsburg (a destination not known for its marine cuisine), the Lodge Restaurant does a pretty nice job. It's pricey, however. I believe it was around $35 per person -- add in the requisite alcoholic libations, and you're dropping a pretty penny in this joint. The food abooooounds here, which is nice. There's a huge variety of hot and cold items to choose from. There are nicely prepared salads, and a decent crab bisque to start you off. There are king crab legs, peel-and-eat shrimp, and oysters on ice. There's lemon tilapia, dill salmon, mussels, and fried cod in the warmers. I thought the crab legs were really good, and the peel-and-eat shrimp were lovely: firm, and plump, and juicy. Aside from the seafood, there's a selection of fruits and cheeses, salads, side vegetables, a bread station, and a smorgasboard of tempting desserts. There's also a sushi station staffed by sushi chefs, but I found the sushi pretty typical and uncreative, and the rice was hard-ish like the sushi you get out the refrigerated section in Giant. Not to mention the wasabi was graying, which is never appealing. The ambiance at the Lodge Restaurant is a bit formal and classy -- still, this is a resort town, so you don't need your finery. They say the dress is casual, but I definitely wouldn't want to show up in my Disneyworld tee and torn jeans...lord knows some fools certainly do, tho. The dining room is nice, quiet, and upscale. The service is professional, if cold. I found our "server" (cuz on buffet night he didn't have to do much but uncork our wine and keep it coming) a bit aloof, but maybe they're trained that way to be in-keeping with the more formal atmosphere. Still, it probably wouldn't have killed him instantly to smile or exude some warmth. All-in-all it was a pleasant experience. I wouldn't be adverse to coming back for the buffet, or maybe stopping by for brunch.

We have taken care to frequent Colonial Williamsburg for decades; Probably the Christmas season is our favorite, and the long hot humid summer is the season we avoid. Any frequent visitor to Greater Williamsburg is in for a culinary treat; we focused our first few years on Colonial Williamsburg dining, and we still recommend the historical taverns. Dining in the 18th Century setting is provided at the following: * Christiana Campbell's Tavern® * Chowning's Tavern® * King's Arms Tavern® * Shields Tavern® Over the years Chowning's Tavern has evolved to "please families" with a fast food backyard grill. Limited menu and service hear. Caveat: avoid the backyard if desiring an authentic Colonial Dining experience. Please read reviews prior to visiting Colonial Williamsburg. We recommend above stairs dining; servers have had some training. Great tavern ambience. Chowning's Tavern may offer the best economy dining experience. In the 1960's we "discovered" Brunswick Stew, and this is still on the menu; moreover, my wife has added this stew to her offerings in her kitchen. Take care in personal review of colonial dining. Chowning's Tavern may or may not be a best bet for romantic dining. The tariff is appropriate for the fare.
