BBQ Chicken, Collard Greens, Potato Salad

Came here with a group from college. Because we were on a program, we spent all of our time eating at a variety of restaurants in Williamsburg. The program lasted about two weeks. And out of all the restaurants we ate at in Williamsburg, Rocco's Smokehouse is undoubtedly the worst place we ate at. That BBQ chicken was dry; it tasted like sand. The only thing that was half-decent was the cornbread rolls, yet that is not enough to save us from this harrowing experience.

    Free delicious

The smokehouse was good. It's not a fancy restaurant but those free corn muffins are to die for!!! The meat is deliciously smoked and fatty. The fat gives flavor but just so you know. The sides are ok. Our server was super nice and the restaurant is clean.

Rocco's was giving classic American family dinner. We sat at the bar on a Sunday evening to catch some Sunday night football. We were able to sit right infront of the big screen tv. The service from the bar tender was top notch from start to finish. They have a good amount of beer on tap. Had to go with some VBCo beers since we were in Williamsburg. They have an extensive menu with a lot of options. Plenty of different apps, salads, BBQ platters, sandwiches and burgers. I went with a pulled pork sandwich that came with fries and added a side salad. The salad was super fresh, all of the ingredients were nice and crispy. Over all the food was okay but the service was great!

Our two take out meals today, for the second time. Note, this was not the Driver' fault, but a failure of Rocco's

The 30thth of July we ordered dinner, from Rocco's, located at 207 By Pass Rd, to be delivered to our home. Time passed as we waited. They finally called us. My Wife took the call. She was told that when the Driver arrived, send her beck with the two meals. She was told the order given was sent to the wrong address. The Wife relayed the message to the Driver, she apologized and left. Today about three in the afternoon, Wife called Rocco's. and requested the same as she had ordered yesterday, since they failed. The answer was" I can't deliver it, but you will have to come and pick it up". She accepted. She told me it wasn't ready when she arrived. There was no apology or compensation for their error. The order was not suitable, for a dog. Neither of us could eat it. It was cold and my rib's were hard lumps of meat, as was the remaining items. Enclose are pictures of our meal. I will never either return to this place or order a take out from ROCCO'S.

Food: Good 1/2 smoked chicken. The bbq sauce I had with it was good but the chicken was moist and flavorful so did t even need it! Enjoyed the mashed potatoes, fries and corn on the cob as my side. The pulled pork sandwich was also very good. Corn muffins okay! Service: our server was nice and attentive. Space: Large dining area with a few different seating areas and a large bar. Desserts looked good and will have to try them next visit.

We were hankering BBQ and found this independent restaurant. Everything was good. Tasty sauce.

a bunch of lackluster meat products. Potato Salad was weird. Ginger Ale was adequate.

Came here once in 2016 and it was great, couldn't wait to come back. Returned in 2022 and it was not as good. Some of the meat was bland and tough to chew. the sides were not that great either. Really disappointing since I really liked it before. Inside was over-crowded and felt like a rowdy cafeteria.

    Pulled pork ribs. And brisket.

Food was amazing. Service was great. Me and wifey tried a few plates and it was definitely great food. I recommend this for anybody that's into this kind of food.

Friendly service but not always attentive. As I was sitting at my table, I watched as other wait staff went to their tables numerous times to offer refills and other needs. My waitress did not. She only came back to my table once after my meal was brought. The complementary cornbread appetizer had great flavor, but fell apart easy. Barbecue sandwich also, good but a bit dry for my taste

Really fantastic corn muffins superior barbecued ribs. I actually had the fish and chips that were delicious. The wife had the fried shrimp both were fantastic and our friend had the crabcake sandwich which she thought was delicious. Great service great food and a great price. How can you go wrong strongly recommend

    Food! Amazing

Great Delicious BBQ food. Everything was homemade and just what our group needed! They actually had the best Mac n cheese I ever had before, definitely had to have seconds. Our food was moist and tasty, the brownie desert was out of this word and gone so fast. Service was superb and Brian made sure that we had all we needed and really took good care of us. Definitely coming back to visit them again. Date of Visit: June 2023 Party# 34 Menu from 6.2023

The decor gives off major classic American vibes. Plus, right now they are celebrating the U.S. 250th anniversary, so the whole place is decked out in festive, classy decorations. The floral arrangements and styling are beautifully done--so full of character and style. Here are my honest thoughts on the food and experience: The Mains (10/10): We ordered two entrees, and both were incredible. The meat was so tender, juicy, and incredibly easy to chew. The flavors were totally on point. Wings & Fries: The chicken wings were great, and the fries were fried to a perfect golden crisp! My only tiny critique as a foodie is that the fries didn't seem to be fresh-cut from scratch. But they still tasted good! Sauce Heaven: I love that they have a huge variety of sauces right on the table. It gives you so many great options to customize your flavor combinations! The Atmosphere & Service: The waitstaff here are incredibly enthusiastic and energetic! Their warm hospitality completely made up for the fact that the AC was blasting a little too cold inside. One tiny tip for photo takers: The lighting at the tables is a bit on the dimmer side, so it's a little hard to capture the true, mouth-watering color of the grilled food on camera. But trust me, the taste more than makes up for it! It's such a wonderful, comfortable spot to chat, laugh, and catch up with friends. Highly recommend stopping by if you're looking for great food and a festive vibe!

The smell of smoke hits you as soon as you step out of the car--which is always a great sign. We were greeted and seated quickly, and our waitress was attentive from the start. She walked us through the highlights and shared a few of her personal favorites, which was a nice touch. We kicked things off with the Oyster Rockefeller. The oysters themselves were nearly perfect, though the dish leaned a bit salty. Still, a solid start. The crab soup was good as well--also slightly on the salty side, which could just come down to personal preference. Now to the burnt ends--one of my go-to orders anywhere. I'm happy to say these didn't disappoint. Like others have mentioned, the brisket was a touch dry but still impressively tender and full of flavor. The BBQ nachos were messy in the best way and packed with flavor--definitely a hit, especially with my son. As for the slaw, we were told it would be "wet," but it's actually on the drier side, so keep that in mind depending on your preference. Overall, a really enjoyable stop with good food and friendly service. We'd definitely come back again.

We sat at the bar, right in front of the bartender. He was ringing in a big order and said he'd be right with us. After about 5 minutes. I asked if I could grab some of the menus, over the bar (which were in reach). I reached over and grabbed a couple so we would be ready. He said he'd be with us in a minute, which turned into over 10 minutes. We ordered our beer and food at the same time. The keg was blown and he was about to leave again, so we insisted on any other beer that was ready NOW. Meanwhile people are coming up to the bar asking for refills, for their checks, for food. It seemed there was another girl working the dining room, and another female employee was trying to get with a bar customer. Our beers ran empty, other people came and went without ever being served, it sounded like a party in the kitchen. We kept thinking about leaving, everytime he came out of the kitchen without our food. He finally gave us a beer refill, and said our food would be out soon. One guy sat for 20 minutes, got no service and the bartender thanked him for leaving. Everytime he came out of the kitchen he had someone else's food. At one point he ran by with a mop bucket to mop the floor, in front of the front door! After over an hour, we flagged him down and told him we wanted to leave. He said he was sorry and our food would be out soon, "4 people called out." I disputed that fact, saying making a bbq sandwich takes as long as it takes to slap meat on a bun and we had already waited over an hour. I worked in a BBQ restaurant for 15 years. Everything we ordered was already cooked. We could hear plenty of people in the kitchen and BTW, where the heck is the manager of this place? Did they call out too? He asked if we wanted our food to go lol. If they can't get it on a plate how long will it take to put it in a box? Then he overcharged us for our beers, which I corrected, because it was Happy Hour, we paid and left. What a shit show.
