The smokehouse was good. It's not a fancy restaurant but those free corn muffins are to die for!!! The meat is deliciously smoked and fatty. The fat gives flavor but just so you know. The sides are ok. Our server was super nice and the restaurant is clean.

Rocco's was giving classic American family dinner. We sat at the bar on a Sunday evening to catch some Sunday night football. We were able to sit right infront of the big screen tv. The service from the bar tender was top notch from start to finish. They have a good amount of beer on tap. Had to go with some VBCo beers since we were in Williamsburg. They have an extensive menu with a lot of options. Plenty of different apps, salads, BBQ platters, sandwiches and burgers. I went with a pulled pork sandwich that came with fries and added a side salad. The salad was super fresh, all of the ingredients were nice and crispy. Over all the food was okay but the service was great!

Our two take out meals today, for the second time. Note, this was not the Driver' fault, but a failure of Rocco's

The 30thth of July we ordered dinner, from Rocco's, located at 207 By Pass Rd, to be delivered to our home. Time passed as we waited. They finally called us. My Wife took the call. She was told that when the Driver arrived, send her beck with the two meals. She was told the order given was sent to the wrong address. The Wife relayed the message to the Driver, she apologized and left. Today about three in the afternoon, Wife called Rocco's. and requested the same as she had ordered yesterday, since they failed. The answer was" I can't deliver it, but you will have to come and pick it up". She accepted. She told me it wasn't ready when she arrived. There was no apology or compensation for their error. The order was not suitable, for a dog. Neither of us could eat it. It was cold and my rib's were hard lumps of meat, as was the remaining items. Enclose are pictures of our meal. I will never either return to this place or order a take out from ROCCO'S.

Food: Good 1/2 smoked chicken. The bbq sauce I had with it was good but the chicken was moist and flavorful so did t even need it! Enjoyed the mashed potatoes, fries and corn on the cob as my side. The pulled pork sandwich was also very good. Corn muffins okay! Service: our server was nice and attentive. Space: Large dining area with a few different seating areas and a large bar. Desserts looked good and will have to try them next visit.

We were hankering BBQ and found this independent restaurant. Everything was good. Tasty sauce.

a bunch of lackluster meat products. Potato Salad was weird. Ginger Ale was adequate.

Came here once in 2016 and it was great, couldn't wait to come back. Returned in 2022 and it was not as good. Some of the meat was bland and tough to chew. the sides were not that great either. Really disappointing since I really liked it before. Inside was over-crowded and felt like a rowdy cafeteria.

    Pulled pork ribs. And brisket.

Food was amazing. Service was great. Me and wifey tried a few plates and it was definitely great food. I recommend this for anybody that's into this kind of food.

Friendly service but not always attentive. As I was sitting at my table, I watched as other wait staff went to their tables numerous times to offer refills and other needs. My waitress did not. She only came back to my table once after my meal was brought. The complementary cornbread appetizer had great flavor, but fell apart easy. Barbecue sandwich also, good but a bit dry for my taste

Really fantastic corn muffins superior barbecued ribs. I actually had the fish and chips that were delicious. The wife had the fried shrimp both were fantastic and our friend had the crabcake sandwich which she thought was delicious. Great service great food and a great price. How can you go wrong strongly recommend

Great Delicious BBQ food. Everything was homemade and just what our group needed! They actually had the best Mac n cheese I ever had before, definitely had to have seconds. Our food was moist and tasty, the brownie desert was out of this word and gone so fast. Service was superb and Brian made sure that we had all we needed and really took good care of us. Definitely coming back to visit them again. Date of Visit: June 2023 Party# 34 Menu from 6.2023

You get what you pay for here. Except for the corn bread- they didn't charge for a second plate of those warm carbs. A full rack of St. Louis ribs for thirty bucks ain't bad, but I wouldn't say it was the best either. The skin was a bit tough, but the seasoning was good. Their pulled pork sandwich was okay as well. Had to add more bbq sauce. The vegetable of the day was cooked cabbage and carrots which was delicious. If you like stouts, I highly recommend the Virginia oatmeal stout.

It was awe inspiring to think Jefferson and Washington ate and drank here after House of Burgess meetings. We made a reservation on Open Table for an early dinner since we were traveling the next day. (No lunch reservations taken). They are set up in various rooms throughout the house and the servers and staff are dressed in colonial garb. They speak and serve in old school Fashion which is delightful. They even had a gentleman walking around playing music from the time period. I enjoyed a Rummer refreshing cocktail while hubby had an Apple Jack old Fashioned. The drinks average $15. They also have a fine assortment of wines. They brought a bread basket with super fresh bread and mini corn muffins. They also brought whipped butter, a Virginia ham spread and corn relish. All excellent! We saw peanut soup in several places and ordered it here. It was very different. Very peanutty and super filling. I ordered the crab croquettes which were flaky and delicious. The sauce had just a bit of zing and completed the flavor profile perfectly. Our server Lynette was such a sweet lady. I adored her and she even tied the giant napkins for us to prevent spills and mess. (It was super hot though and we took them off eventually) For dinner, hubby got the beef steak. It had a seasoned butter was cooked medium rare, exactly as hubby asked for. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delish. Also came with perfectly cooked stemmed carrots and string beans. It was a little pricey at $58, but you are also paying for the experience and atmosphere. I was a bit full from the bread, muffins and croquettes, but dug into my onion pye. It was served in a deep tin, covered in a flakey crust and topped with an over light egg, fun onions and scallions. It also came fresh veggies. So yummy!

There tends to be a line to get in if you don't have a reservation, but we were seated soon after we got in line around 1:45pm. Their menu is sourced from recipes from the colonial era and the staff are all dressed in the latest colonial fashion. I ordered the fish sandwich which I thought was too salty (perhaps this is period accurate) but my family really liked it. I liked the chips it was served with! I also tried the peanut soup which tasted like drinking peanut butter and I'm not sure if that's for me, but my brother loved it. I had a bit of the beef hash which was pretty tasty! I also had the chocolate tart which was very chocolatey. For a drink we had the non alcoholic orange ginger peach bowl, which served our family of 5 just fine for $16. There was entertainment during our meal, a woman came around and sang a colonial song before taking out a recorder and playing a dancing song. This was fun! Our waitress rubbed us the wrong way. She repeated our order several times to us because she was not writing it down. I was not confident we would get the right food. When we tried to add other things she made us wait since she was busy committing everything to memory. She seemed annoyed when we put in other orders for food, but she did bring us an extra peanut soup "in case" we wanted another one, since we had put in an order for a soup after we initially ordered. She did not really seem keen on serving us. The service was slow, too. At the end of the meal, she put something of ours on another table's check, then took our check back to add what she missed. There was also a bowl of soup on our check that we did not order and the card was charged twice, plus another $18 charge. Not sure what ye olde POS system they're using back there...

They all stared at us like we had dropped from the sky and then one woman gestured down the hall. Except it wasn't down the hall. We were in fact at the Terrace Room hostess stand. Sort of an odd beginning. We were seated at a two top with one chair and a couch with huge pillows scattered all over that left no room to actually sit. Had to toss them to the center of the couch to squeeze in. The menus are giant in size so it's hard to lay them down on the small table. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We started off with a bourbon cocktail that included some candied ginger and was very refreshing. The server gave us each a small cube of bread and some butter. It was sort of comical how miserly they were with the bread. The menu offerings were sort of odd but we were able to watch what other tables ordered to make our selections. The entree prices are pretty hefty. We each got a Caesar Salad to start that was good. We both settled on the brisket sandwich (a July Fourth special) and one of us got the fries and the other a side of summer veggies that was squash & zucchini. The sandwich was okay but nothing grand for $21 and the veggie side caused us to both explode with laughter at how meager it was. C'mon folks, squash is dirt cheap so load it up. Absolutely ridiculous. Their wine selections were not super familiar to us and pricey but they give you an ample pour. The Inn itself is very beautiful and the night stars shimmering on the reflecting pool out front is very romantic. I'd recommend a drink at the bar and skipping the $200 dinner for two.
