I stopped by on my lunch break. The smell of Cajun seafood filled the air. It's a small place. The customer service was good. The prices were also pretty good. I got a catfish Po Boy with lettuce and tomato but I had the option to get it without. The food came out hot and ready! The catfish was so large it hung out the container. It came with a simple sauce on the side. This had to be the most seasoned fish and fries I've had in this area. The catfish was perfectly clean and moist. The bread is unbelievably soft. Amazing! I will definitely be coming back again and bringing a friend to share.

Keland's in New Town cooks up delicious Cajun food to go. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and cheerful. The restaurant is more of a to-go place. It's great if you are craving some Cajun Creole cooking! We like their gumbo and their jambalaya. Very tasty!! Parking is free and plentiful in the New Town shopping area.

I was visiting from Southern California and find this Black owned business. We ordered the Tackle Box, Alligator Po Boy, and Seafood Combo. The food was flavorful, well seasoned, and portions were satisfying. The owner engaged us in some nice conversation. It's a small place, but outdoor seating is available if you have a midsized group...I would definitely recommend paying Kelands a visit for some good Louisiana food!

10/10 food Mac and cheese was DELICIOUS!! I got the gator poboy very good and filling. I've had gator a couple times and this one wasn't too chewy so I loved it service was amazing !! Keland's daughter was in the front taking orders and she's so sweet and answered all questions and gave recommendations too!

    Jambalaya !!!

Pretty good Cajun food for the area and I'm from Louisiana as we hadn't found anything good til now. Their Keland's sauce is less of a true Nola remoulade but more like cane's sauce which still goes good on a shrimp po'boy! Their catfish is pretty good as well as the whiting - can't go wrong with either! Their vegan gumbo and jambalaya is good as well - thanks for having a vegan option by the way, much appreciated! Looking forward to many more meals with them. Good service and answers any questions you may have about their menu items. *Forgot to add that they even threw in some hot sauce - score!

From the moment we arrived, the hostess, Milk, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. She made us feel valued from the start, and throughout the evening she continued to provide excellent service to every table she assisted. She truly deserves recognition and a promotion. Unfortunately, our assigned server provided one of the worst dining experiences I've had. After taking our food and drink order, she returned only with our drinks and then disappeared for 15-20 minutes without checking on us. My friend's daughter's entrée arrived before our appetizers, and our appetizer--fried hard chicken wings--didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later. When we asked about the delay, the server said it was because we requested the wings to be fried hard. She then made a comment about "Black people in the kitchen cooking." Whether she intended it as a joke or not, the comment was unprofessional and made us uncomfortable. Because of the poor service and attitude, we asked if another server could assist us. While Milk continued to be wonderful, another employee with purple-blue hair was also very rude when we asked for assistance. Her attitude was dismissive and unpleasant. Later in the evening, around 11 p.m., I asked a staff member near the kitchen if they had lids for our seafood buckets. She responded "No" with an attitude. I then asked if they had to-go cups, and she said they did but claimed she was off duty. Less than 30 seconds later, she went behind the bar and began making and serving drinks, which made her response even more confusing. Shortly afterward, she began arguing with my friend at our table for no apparent reason. At that point, we asked Milk to get the manager. The manager came over, sat down with us, listened to our concerns, and apologized. He explained that he was actually off that day but had come in to help support the restaurant. We appreciated that he took the time to hear us out and said he would address the issues with his staff. The food itself was good, but good food cannot make up for poor customer service and disrespectful attitudes. We wanted this to be a memorable celebration for my friend's daughter, not an evening spent dealing with rude employees. Customer service is just as important as the food. Sadly, because of the experience we had, we will not be returning. I hope management invests in better customer service training because employees like Milk show what great hospitality should look like, while others left a very negative impression.

The calamari was good I just wish they provided tartar sauce with it I'm not sure if you need to ask for that before leaving. The wings was really good however very light on the sauce. The only disappointment was the she-crab soup. It tasted mostly like heavy cream, and I was surprised by how little crab was actually in it. They were hired to cater our wedding that was originally scheduled in November, but we had to postpone the wedding due to the world's recent COVID pandemic. We had already paid $1000 deposit, and we didn't want to lose that. They offered to allow us up to 1 year, to use the deposit. So, we decided that we would use them for my bridal shower, which was for 20 guest. Keep in mind that they were perfectly fine with the date change; but all of a sudden, I was told, via phone conversation, that there was a $250 tasting fee since we cancelled the wedding and changed to a different date. No where in the contract did it state there would be a $250 fee for tasting if there is a cancellation or date change. Let's keep in mind contract was NOT cancelled, as they did provide a service, on 10/17/2020. So, again why were we charged a tasting fee? Didn't want to make a big fuss about it, so I asked for an itemized receipt for the items listed below, however, I was provided with a new, and modified contract that showed these items: 20 servings of Bang Bang Shrimp 1 pan of Meatballs 40 assorted pieces of fried chicken 1 pan of Sweet Potato Soufflé 1 pan of Mac and Cheese 20 servings of pasta salad Fruit Tray Veggie Tray Fee Schedule Service Full Package Service ...... $750.00 Tax 13.5%........................................ 101.25 Gratuity 15 % ............................. Total........................................ $850.25 Now, the food...the chicken was not fresh, it had obviously be reheated, dry, no seasoning, looked as if it was fried in old grease with black specks, it was so bad that we threw away 30 pieces. The mac and cheese was dry, cheese only at the top, and not throughout. I say, if you can't successfully make these staples, then there is no need to be a soul food business. Ok, then there was the Bang Bang shrimp, mushy and was garnished with red cabbage and lemons...hmmm. Anyway, the fruit and veggie tray was ok. We did put the fruit tray on a nicer plater. Actually, we put everything on a nice platter, as I will not serve out of tin pans like they do a BBQ's. Meatballs, were just ok. The pasta salad was dry, and had to add to it to make it taste like something. I say all of this to say, we threw $1000 in the trash. It amazes me how people portray to run a successful business with excellent customer service once they get your money. All the other vendors worked with my fiance and I, and I really thought Ms. Mary's would have too. Well, I guess they thought they did by allowing us to use our deposit for my bridal shower, and I do appreciate that, but to provide us with a product that wasn't of quality or freshness was unacceptable.

The atmosphere here is quite different from the Myrtle Beach location. Instead of a beachy vibe, it has more of a colonial feel that fits Williamsburg perfectly. The crab legs kept coming, the peel-and-eat shrimp were plentiful, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. If you're going for seafood, you'll leave happy.
