Order to go since I really wanted to try the Beignets! Hubby got an order of Gator bites. Ordering was super quick and was ready when I got there. Oh boy as soon as I put the powder sugar on Beignets and dip the sauce that came with it. I was reminded of the time I was in New Orleans back in 2023! I ate all of them lmao, I mean I am on vacation so calories don't count. Hubby love the Gator bites, came with a tangy style sauce. I did try a bite and the blend of spices compliment the mild flavor of gator very well. I wish I had a second stomach to try other things but I was still full from lunch..... I'm was very surprised to even find this hidden gem in Virginia. Keep in mind sitting is very limit, only two small tables inside and one outside. Mainly a to go place, I would say. I got the tackle box which came with whiting, catfish, and fries. The fish was amazing, lightly breaded and fried perfectly. I didn't like the fries, they weren't very good. My date got the gumbo which tasted awesome. Service was good for a takeout restaurant, it's nice hole in the wall with awesome fish. I would definitely eat here again. read more

Friendly and fast service, I was in and out within 10 minutes of entering. It looked like they were changing light bulbs, but it was very clean inside. The seafood gumbo was alright. I expected more heat but it I needed to add the two packets of hot sauce that were provided and to get some heat. There was also enough food to last me two meals. read more

I stopped by on my lunch break. The smell of Cajun seafood filled the air. It's a small place. The customer service was good. The prices were also pretty good. I got a catfish Po Boy with lettuce and tomato but I had the option to get it without. The food came out hot and ready! The catfish was so large it hung out the container. It came with a simple sauce on the side. This had to be the most seasoned fish and fries I've had in this area. The catfish was perfectly clean and moist. The bread is unbelievably soft. Amazing! Service is good, the seating in shop has 3 tables, and the food is cooked fresh. I had the shrimp poorboy and it was above average. The shrimp were breaded and fried put on a hoogie type bun with a bed of lettuce and tomato. The sauce is in a separate small cup. The bun would have benefited from being toasted. The fries were cooked well and seasoned. Overall, for the price it was good. In a pinch I would eat there again. read more

The food was flavorful, well seasoned, and portions were satisfying. The owner engaged us in some nice conversation. My husband and I had the opportunity to dine in, and everything was amazing. We ordered the whiting fish basket, shrimp basket, and beignets. The shrimp and whiting were crispy, perfectly fried, and seasoned to perfection! The food was hot--smoking through every bite--and so good that we went back and ordered the alligator bites, mac n' cheese, and jambalaya. All of them were delicious as well. The service was great, and the staff was friendly and attentive. My only small complaint is that the chairs are a bit high, which was uncomfortable for my short legs, and my husband mentioned the seats were a little firm. There was outdoor seating available, but it was raining during our visit. As for the "Grab and Go" description--it's accurate for the space and business model, and we had no issue with it. Really good spot to grab some good grub. I had seen Keland's on here and walked by a few times but never had a chance to go in and try it. It is very much a order ahead or order at counter and takeout kind of place. There are a couple tables outside and one or two tables inside but it is not a sit down spot. The food is awesome. I had the gator bites to start. They were fried well and the sauce to go with it was delicious. For my main, I could not decide between their seemingly endless options for sandwiches. I went basic and just ordered their version of a chicken sandwich. It was very good with lot of flavor. The bun too was a major plus. Overall, I am a fan of Keland's because it brings something unique to Williamsburg. This town has many restaurants but all of similar genres. If you want to branch out, look no further. read more

I wish I would have taken photos of our food, but we were surrounded by great vibes and the owner Sean who talked with and has such an incredible story to share. Swing and a miss. If you are craving Louisiana style food this is not the place. I ordered three main entrees to be delivered and all of them were not Cajun. Their Keland's sauce is less of a true Nola remoulade but more like cane's sauce which still goes good on a shrimp po'boy! Every time we travel I have to find my man some fried fish. Y'all..... This place is not one to pass by if you are visiting Williamsburg VA. We walked into this small grab-and-go and were treated like family. The smiles and gratitude for trying the restaurant were great, but Bay-bay....(in my attempt at a New Orleans accent) The food was WONDERFUL! I had the crab ball basket with fries and begged (that's another story) for a side of fried corn. My husband had the Tackle Box (catfish and whitings with fries). When I say the crab ball was just that! None of that heavy breading you would get from most places that leave you asking for the crab. Then dipped in the Keland sauce.....So good. What a disappointment and we didn't even get to try the food. Called as our movie was letting out to place a to go order. The person that answered the phone was very rude. I tried placing an order but I'm not spending my hard earned money for poor customer service. If it was an employee they need training, if it was a manager or owner you really want to take a look at where profit comes from. Everyone has bad days but that should never impact your customers. Sorely disapointed in the food that was delivered. The crab cake sandwich was dry and hard not tender and the flavor was off. The fries were very disapointing with quite a few that looked burnt. the Fried Shrimp basket had tiny shrimp and not very flavorful. I got the green beans but they looked like canned for $3.00. TBH, the whiting & crab balls were the star of the show & garnered MOST of this positive review. The frozen fries w/cajun seasoning were thrown out along with worst tasting green beans I'd ever had in my LIFE! I don't know WHAT was aimed for with that veggie style, but it was a thorough NO for us. The gumbo was okay - my close friend is from NOLA, so I've had a bulkier & tastier gumbo. The sandwich I ordered was suppoosedly "cajun chicken", when actually it was a fried hunk on a bun. Yes they had some sauce and offered to include hot sauce, but beyond that, very little to add.
