Today I ordered two entrees and a side, to pick up for take out. The place is very cleqn and workers polite. However the food was terrible! We ordered a Diners burger, Virginia burger, and house wings. The Burgers were borderline inedible due to the huge amount of salt. If i had been dining in I would have sent it back. I would not feed that much salted meat to my dog. The burgers dampness also had literally demolished the lower bun and iceberg lettuce. So i had to disgard those sodding blobs. The Virginian burger also salty, and the crab cake, small and underwhelming. The Chicken wings tasteless and dry. On too of this i had no choice but to pay a 10% tip for "take out prepare ". My mom has been living around the corner from this place for a number of years and frequents it often. They all know her very well. She has told me about it for a long time and today I got to go and experience it for myself. Monday through Friday they have a great lunch special for about $13 that comes with a super salad and then a sandwich. It is a great deal, I have the fish sandwich which was cod. We also split the pimento cheese with freshly fried pita chips. They make the pimento cheese and house and you can tell for sure! Food was great, service could be better. I felt rushed by the server to order came to my table three times in less than 5 minutes aprox asking if I was ready to order. The hostess had very low energy wasn't welcoming at all, luckily decided to stay because food is great. For my first visit to Craft 31, I ordered the Pub Burger with a veggie patty. Although there were several beer-infused components of the sandwich, I didn't pick up any noticeable notes of beer. That said, the burger was delicious. Veggie patty are usually blended to a degree where I can't tell what I'm eating. However, this had small chunks of vegetables which I really liked. The braised onions paired well with the tangy "31 Sauce." The American cheese on top contributed a layer of creaminess. Even though its flavor profile wasn't beer-forward, the bun was fluffy yet sturdy enough to hold everything together. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. If you're a fan of honey mustard and spicy dips, this one will clear your sinuses. The service was great and I liked the laid-back atmosphere. I enjoyed the fish n' chips (main course) that comes with a lemon-pepperoncini tartar sauce (subtle yet some punch to it). Also partook of the diner burger which is nicely prepared. Apple cobbler served with a mound of vanilla ice cream was the coup de grace for my dessert. No way could I finish all that food, so, "to-go" boxes were used, and got a second meal out of it the next day. Fabulous. Crystal (waitress) was superb and the rest of the crew at the bar and those helping out on the floor were fun and friendly, made me feel at home. I actually ate at Craft 31 twice with five days recently. The first time was to experience their 2025 Winter Restaurant Week menu and the other was for Happy Hour to try their pizzas and Ground Beef Tot-Cho's. Both visits were quite enjoyable. I learned that Craft 31 also offers a $12 express lunch menu that includes a soup or salad started then an assortment of lunch choices. I ordered the starter salad with peach dressing and the fried fish sandwich, which also came with a side. I chose the house made chips, which were really good! When we went for Happy Hour, we ordered the $10 medium pizzas with one topping from the Happy Hour menu, as well as an order of Ground Beef Tot-Cho's. The star hands-down was the Tot-Cho's. They were flavorful and not at all greasy. I highly recommend them. The pizzas had too much cheese for our liking. I don't know if you order more toppings there would be less cheese. The crust was thin and crispy. The red sauce was sweet and smooth. In addition to seating in the dining area, they have a bar area as well as a year-round enclosed patio with a fireplace. While it was 26 degrees outside, the patio room was very comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient. The servers stopped by to check in for refills, but they were not intrusive. 20 golfers invaded Craft 31 in Williamsburg for dinner and unfortunately watched the Philadelphia Flyers get beat by the Pittsburgh Penguins. That is another story. Our waiter was very friendly, efficient, and patient. We ordered a variety of craft beers and food from their menu. The beer selection is large. It is made by local microbreweries so you should be able to find one you like. I had two Billsburg Lagers which hit the spot. I ordered a Diner Hamburger with French Fries and a side salad. The burger was thick but a little on the salty side. Not a lot of salty taste but noticeable which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of five. I would have rated our waiter 9 stars. He was excellent. I would also note the receptionist took us to our table and came back and balance one the legs on the table. She was nice to do that. One waiter handled 20 golfers very well. We all had a good noisy time dining together. There is also outdoor seating which we took advantage of. Cash or credit. $$-$$$. Plenty of parking. read more

Such a simple thing is to refill a glass ? One star deduction immediately for not offering me a refill. We got the tater tot appetizer, which seemed a little strange but was pretty good. I ordered the Carolina not burger sandwich and I had to ask what it was as it's not described on the menu as pulled pork. My cousins came down from Richmond to visit me, and wanted to try this place. It's like a restaurant attached to a small town Midwest motel in decor, but clean and bright. We were there for a Monday lunch, can't speak to the dinner service. We also weren't drinking alcohol that day, though I thought the beer flights looked tempting. One of us had a cheeseburger that was requested to be "pink" and was overcooked and just blah. One of us had a chicken salad that was served with no chicken. Someone from the kitchen rushed out with a soup bowl filled with chicken slices that looked like those Perdue rotisserie chicken slices you buy at the grocery store. Dumped them on the salad. She did apologize. Our third order was a Restaurant Week special fried oyster salad vouched for by our server, Bailey, who was pleasant and efficient. It came with corn,black beans, mixed greens, cotija cheese and a spicy dressing. It wasn't awful but I think the overall concept was weird. Fried oyster taco salad? The few oyster pieces were tasty. The two of us went to Craft 31 for the first time today. Parking was readily available and we were seated immediately on comfortable furniture. Our server (Riley) brought us water and introduced himself. We perused the extensive menu. I opted for brunch and ordered a seafood omelet and a spicy Bloody Mary. Service was good. Food was fair and had a wait time of 40+ minutes, burgers were sadly overdone, fries and chips were good. We brought a birthday cake and were stopped by staff member who then told us we would be charged $1.50/person for outside dessert which is fine just giving a heads up to anyone considering the same. We did have to ask them to remove the dessert charge for the infant at the table (which felt slightly petty but still it shouldn't have happened) Parties over 10 will be put on one check with 18% gratuity added, same as a lot of other restaurants. Not great. This has been a staple for our Williamsburg trips for the last 4 years, we've brought tons of friends here over the years and after tonight I'd be embarrassed to recommend it anymore. I've noticed it consistently going down hill. The service is slow usually, so that's not new, but after a long wait our food came out cold. the food has massively slipped. The tuna poke was virtually flavorless. No depth of flavor whatsoever. The pizzas were bland and the mozzarella tracks had hardly any cheese. I'd never order anything we got tonight again. I liked the local beer flights for $5 but there were two beers in the flight that were pretty gross. This has been a bummer because we used to really like this place. read more

After a day at Colonial Williamsburg, we were craving a burger. A few minutes away is this gem. Server said they are known for their burgers (advertise craft beers and burgers) and we certainly ordered some. There were lots of options for drink both on tap and otherwise. I really liked the blue frog brewery peach tea cider- light and refreshing. Cheap too- $2 for 5oz, $5 for 12oz. Flight options is up to 4 choices of a 5oz beer. We chose all beers from VA, as we are just visiting from PA. I was a fan of the music/playlist they had on- Renee Rapp, Kacey Musgraves, and Zach Bryan all played within about 10 mins. Exactly my style! Crab dip 4/5 not a strong crab taste but fried pitas are good Wings are marinated overnight and fried to order. We got 6 of the Dr Pepper, which are made with Dr Pepper syrup, and 6 of the Memphis sweet & sticky wings. The Dr Pepper ones were really interesting; more of a coating than a sauce and a little on the sweet side but not overpowering. Not sure I would have noted the Dr Pepper taste if I didn't know in advance. I was a big fan of the Memphis ones in contrast. The ranch on the side was delicious. Crunch burger with truffle fries 3/5 : didn't like the sauce on it. Fries were good but could have been crispier DIY burger with tater tots 4/5: tried to cut it in half because it was huge but everything fell out. Didn't have much flavor (house BBQ sauce) Lone Star burger with sweet potato fries (unglazed): 3/5: the sweet potato fries were small and crispy which was a bit of a bummer because I prefer my fries on the softer side but that's just a personal thing. The burger I was expecting more flavor from. Really interesting to have both brisket and a burger there. Lone star burger is served on Texas Toast. Blackened Bleu Burger 5/5 just right Irish Burger 4/5: wouldn't order again. Said it was well done but felt all the moisture was gone. Seemed dry because of how well done it was. Wish there was more cheese because it had melted completely into the bun which was disappointing. Overall review is would go back again, but order different things as our menu items felt lacking in flavor. Unfortunately we were crunched for time due to reservations elsewhere (Barbie time!) but they were very nice about it. The place is nice, but the name is deceiving. When I see " Craft" I'm expecting something different. Not the case here. I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza. Average at best. It was thin crust not a deal breaker but the crust had zero flavor. Age your dough. The chicken was chunks. Take time to shred the chicken and mix it with BBQ sauce. The sauce was nothing special. No bite or tang. They used white onions. Use red. They used cheddar not a fan it doesn't melt great and has too much fat so it becomes oily. And garnish something to make it pop. We stopped here for dinner on our way down to Hampton to visit my sister. We came on a Friday night around 8pm and had a reservation but there were still a lot of tables when we got there so we probably didn't need one. The inside of the restaurant was very nice, it was modern and gave the vibes of a fancier restaurant. They had a wide variety of beer and cocktails, I ended up getting the Margarita Flight ($13.95) which came with 4 different flavors of Margarita. They were all really good but my favorite was either the Sunset or the Peach. For dinner, I ended up getting the Waygu Beef Chili Cheese Dog ($13.95) and added the Glazed Sweet Potato Waffle Fries (+$2.25) as my side. The hot dog was so good and very flavorful, I could do without beans in the chili but that is just personal preference. The glazed waffle fries were absolutely AMAZING!! They were like a dessert and tasted like cinnamon rolls. My husband got the Pretzel Bites ($10.95) which were pretty standard but the beer cheese was very good. We visited the restaurant last night around 7:30 PM a party of six (four adults and two kids). We were greeted by the host, a young man with a mustache, who unfortunately seemed tired or frustrated from the start. He offered us a table on the patio, which we accepted, not realizing there was live music. Before heading outside, we politely asked if we could sit at a large round booth inside. He quickly replied, "That table is for five," in a dismissive tone. I mentioned that my daughter, who's 3 and autistic, would be more comfortable indoors, but he didn't seem to care. My father-in-law, visiting from England, asked again, and the host responded even more abruptly. It felt like we had upset him just for asking -- definitely not the kind of welcome you expect at a hospitality business. Thankfully, things turned around once we were seated. Our server, Sami, was wonderful professional, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. The musician playing guitar even gave my daughter a small giraffe toy, which absolutely made her night. The food and drinks were excellent, and the overall atmosphere (thanks to the live music and Sami's service) ended up being very enjoyable. I'd gladly return I just hope management can coach the host on basic hospitality and empathy so every guest feels welcome from the start. read more

It was another awesome time at Craft 31. Julie was so helpful in getting our table together for our large group and Kelly (I hope that was the correct name) our waitress was just amazing!!! Kelly was just perfect in her service and conversation, lots of fun. We started off with 3 flights. My beer flight which was great (awesome selection of brews) and 2 Margherita flights which were very impressive. This time around I went for one of their personal pizzas. I ordered a pepperoni and Anchovy pizza. OMG I was so impressed that they had anchovies, I had to get the pie. That pizza was just so amazing, just like a NY thin crust pizza. (Note: I own my own outdoor brick oven and have experience making many pizzas). The pizza was delicious, The crust, nice and crispy!! I was so impressed with this pizza, I was 100% focused on finishing it all! The pizza was a very nice size too, I think 12" but it certainly looked bigger! My friends enjoyed their burgers and salads as well. Top it off, if you order a pint of beer, you can get a 1/2 price growler! What's better than that! I highly recommend Craft 31! Here is the rundown on our most recent visit: Extremely nice hostess and server this time around. Checked in on us regularly and food came out in a timely fashion. Food- Salad-good garlicky ranch. Still lots of red onions in the salad so just be prepared if you are not an onion lover. Sausage corn chowder-good Pizzas-good with lots of toppings. By Williamsburg standards, this is probably one of the best. And it was fairly good. The service was a bit slow. The margarita flight was very cute but tasted like powdered juice mix like cool aid full of sugar, no alcohol came through. The burgers were offered "pink or no pink" I asked for pink, and it was indeed a medium cook. My wife ordered the lamb burger and it was sadly only well done. The truffle fries were limp and cold. Fried Oreos were tasty. Not sure how you mess that one up. The food overall was good, just some details here or there were missing. Our server was friendly, but could have stepped it up just a bit.
