Super cute little restaurant in Williamsburg, VA! Loved the inside. The service was great, everyone was really friendly. The food had a great presentation, but overall was kind of mid. The mac salad was bland, rice was kind of dry, and the chicken katsu was good but the sauce was a bit too sweet. Overall not bad, but definitely like a Hawaiian Bro's 2.0.

Hubby got a cheeseburger with bacon along with fries. Not sure how a cheeseburger is considered Hawaiian but his fries were too salty. If you need to watch your salt intake, maybe ask for fresh fries instead. I got the oxtail soup, but was so disappointed that I got two little ones along with a significant amount of not seasoned broth. Maybe some Daikon but definitely two huge pieces of ginger. Chewing the ginger was not easy so I gave up. I was still hungry so I got six oysters but each one was expensive considering the price dropped for "happy hour ". There was not as much brine as I would have expected. Our server was efficient but we doubt we will return. The area was clean.

This is my second time coming here and it was just as good as the first time I came to the restaurant. The service was amazing. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing. I had ordered the Huli Huli Chicken and it was delicious. So far I haven't found anything that I don't like at the restaurant.

Food was good, ambiance is very nice. Although we didn't partake, the bar selection is very nice (and I have a weakness for lychee martinis which they feature). Portion sizes were fine - some we saw were ample! My burger certainly filled me up, was nicely seared with egg, bacon and sautéed onions being great additions. Would prefer a sturdier bun, though. Typical brioche bun gets soggy and falls apart with this sizable stack! I would suggest more of a Kaiser roll approach, but that's personal preference. Wife had oxtail soup, which was...okay. Only two pieces of oxtail with large pieces of turnip, potato, ginger, etc, and lots of broth with lackluster seasoning. The flavor was good, but not great - prefer a good pho or Taiwan noodle soup with the oxtail. We asked our server about the oysters when we spotted a flyer, and she informed us that they had different pricing during happy hour from 2-6; we waited until 2 and enjoyed a half dozen for $10. Regular prices were more in the $3-$4 per oyster range. Prices overall a touch steep for food that isn't truly exceptional, but not out of line for the area. There are a number of other options that I would like to try before passing judgement - we were in for a late lunch, so couldn't indulge too much. Servers were welcoming and pleasant, space was clean and inviting. If you're in the area, might be worth a try. I'd say 3.5, rounded up to 4.

This place is just okay. Not the authentic Hawaiian I was hoping for, but not bad. I've been twice and I think that's enough for me. The prices are steep for the amount you're getting, service is just okay, and I've heard the drinks are bad but haven't ventured there myself.

As a former Hawaii resident, I was excited to see this restaurant in Williamsburg. We had the saimen and chicken katsu which were well done and artfully presented. Clearly the kitchen cares about their food! The availability if Hawaiian Sun drinks is also a nice touch of home The decor is wonderfully island and we recognized some of the local HI artist work. Local music would be a nice touch. Would also love to see some local desserts offered such as hapia cake. The prices for the mains are a tad on the high side but there is a spread of less expensive dishes available and perhaps more will be offered later.. Mahalo for the ono grinds! We'll return!

The tiki drinks were very weak which accounts for the price. The mai tai was mostly orange juice. We had the vegan banana coconut cake, but if you ever get it tell them to leave the Hershey's syrup off it. The Hawaiian sun is your best bet for n/a because the soda tasted like the hoses need to be cleaned. The service was pretty quick fortunately, but not a place I'll be going out of my way to get to.

Have been to Aloha Tiki twice and have not been disappointed. The first time we sat at the bar because the restaurant was packed . The bartender was so friendly, we had a great conversation and she made excellent food and drinks recommendations . Last night we sat at a table and again everything was excellent . We enjoyed our cocktails . I had the Huli Huli chicken and it was excellent and my husband had the BBQ plate with chicken , short ribs and shrimp which he enjoyed as well. We had beef lumpia as an appetizer and that was good as well, a little expensive for the serving but it was good. I have not tried any of the desserts but the table next to us had a lava cake that looked pretty good. Also , the first time we came I had the kalua pork and it was moist and flavorful. Definitely would recommend you give them a try.

The tacos were not great. The pork was very dry, but overall the salsa just overpowered the taste of anything else. My husband ordered the Loco Moco, when asked how he wanted his patties cooked he said medium. It came out well done, but the worst part was the egg. The egg white was literally not cooked at all so he sent it back and what came back was an overcooked egg with a hard/burnt yolk. We were given 2 cookies from a cookie arrangement given to the restaurant on their opening night (the day before we visited) as a "sorry" and one of their gift cards that we were told "could have between $5 or $50 on it" in order to "give them another chance". I was looking forward to this restaurant opening and I wanted to love it because I love traditional Hawaiian food after visiting many times and having some of the best food on the island, but sadly I was disappointed.

This is our new favorite place! The food is absolutely delicious! Try the Kalua Pork and Orange Chicken! Adreana is amazing. She is a major part of why we returned. She is a great bartender and so friendly and welcoming. The happy hour has some great drinks, too. I haven't had anything here that didn't taste great. Chill ambiance, too.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! Stop searching for boring places, because this place has it all. The food is out of this world, absolutely delicious. The drinks are 10/10. What makes this place the best place are the people, Adriana and Emely are the best and will take care of you like family. Best service. Great atmosphere. ITS A MUST TRY!! The tacos are my personal favorites!

I was looking forward to a Hawaiian restaurant opening up in the area, especially after being stationed in Hawaii for five years when I was active duty. While I didn't expect the food here to taste exactly like it did in Honolulu, the images online looked promising. The food is decent, but I personally don't think the serving amount is worth the price, especially when compared to what's pictured. I ordered the signature Hawaiian BBQ mix online for pick-up and it was ready in about 20 minutes after ordering. If you compare the picture and what I was given, there was only two pieces of shrimp. When ordering you have the option to pick up to three proteins. I went with the shrimp, bbq beef, and beef short ribs. The amount of beef given was okay, but I think a few more pieces of shrimp would've been nice to have, and maybe even a little more rice The meat was a little on the tougher side but was good flavor wise. The staff is pretty friendly and the ambience is nice and welcoming. I may return to try other items, but probably wouldn't get the signature mix again.

    Cheers with the group!

I'm a graduating senior at William and Mary, so my friends and I decided to come try Alohatiki to celebrate! Needless to say, we were thoroughly impressed and highly enjoyed our experience! The service was impeccable, and we were greeted and sat immediately by the nice hostess. As you can see from the video I included, the interior was BEAUTIFUL! It definitely makes you feel like you are dining somewhere tropical. The tiki bar was also quite nice, and the seats were all extra-cushioned, which is always a plus! Now, lets get to the food. SO GOOD! If you can't already tell by the photos I included, everything was plated so nicely, and the portions were quite generous considering the semi-fine dining atmosphere. My favorite dish of the night HAD to be the tacos! The variety and combination of the 3 different proteins was very delicious, and still left me some room for the fun appetizers such as the Musubi Trio! I will say, I am a bit suprised by the lower rating this place has recieved, but no matter what, you should try it for yourself! Loved it and will definitely be back!

Saimin soup is great. The noodle cook correctly, recommend trying it.

For the most part, it's street parking where we found a very good spot and restaurants and stores galore. Let's see how this spot turned out for us. Inside, the decor is very nice. They have a few tables inside and plenty in the outside patio. It's basically a spot that's takeout but if want to dine-in, that's totally fine. And they serve Kung Fu Tea, one of our favorite guilty pleasures that unfortunately closed near us months ago. After a few minutes, we ordered at the counter. Along with a large Strawberry Milk slush, I selected a 5 piece tender combo with a side of crinkle fries. First off, the slush was pretty good. At 50% sugar with boba pearls, it hit the sweet spot very well. It felt like old times when we used to order KFT often. But, the chicken combo itself was underwhelmimg. The food came out hot and ready, but the tenders were tough to break apart either by biting into it or with your hands if you dipped in any of their sauces. Sophia ordered a chicken sandwich and wasn't impressed, saying eating a Chick-Fil-A sandwich is better. That says a lot. I did take some home to eat for leftovers, but like earlier, could've been better. Not to put any bad press on the business, but it was disappointing. Again, it's basically a takeout spot and one for KFT admirers like us. We will come back only for that reason the next time we're around.

Thai Tara had been our favorite place to dine in Williamsburg... ...until last night. There is one simple reason that it has fallen off our list: Outrageous prices that are constantly rising. We have visited this restaurant biweekly for the past year since we moved here and at least twice on every visit to Williamsburg since the restaurant opened. What we have noticed is that the prices are going up at a far higher rate than general inflation. We started to dine at Thai Tara when it first opened a few years ago when it cost us $40-50 per person. Slowly at first, it became an expensive treat. But last night we were handed a bill for $70 per person; for 3 of us, the bill came to was $215. Nothing extravagant. Three $6 beers, three appetizers and a few pieces of Sushi and Sashimi. And for the first time in memory, the sushi rice was not properly seasoned and sticky, which makes for a poorly prepared product. But this review is not about a single disappointing food experience which is certainly the exception. This is about the outrageous prices. It is our opinion that pure greed is on display here. They fill the restaurant several times over almost every evening. They won a Best Restaurant honor recently. So our guess is that the owners have figured that they can grab for more profit and if they lose a few patrons, no big deal. They just need to keep in mind that many of their close-by loyal neighbors who are on a retirement budget and frequented this establishment, and are coming to the same conclusion.
