After a 15-minute wait to check in, we were shown to our room (we upgraded to a two bedroom suite). The suite has a full fridge, dishware, electric fireplace, AND both bathrooms had jetted tubs!! The entire space was clean. The beds were delightfully comfortable. There are vending machines located in the lobby. There's a pool and hot tubs outdoors. If you're looking for something to occupy any downtime, they have a schedule of activities each day.

We got a really good 4th of July deal and took full advantage of there 3 nights 4 day special and you had to participate in a 90 min timeshare presentation. When we arrived I was so excited because I have always wanted to go to Williamsburg and seeing as I have stayed at a westgate resort in Florida I assumed the accommodation would be similar boy or boy was I wrong , they put us in there " promotional cottages" . Let's put it this way the accommodation were similar to a motel 6 or one of those pay by the hour motels . The beds were kind size yes and had great linens however that was the only good thing about the room, the walls were paper thin I could hear my neighbors tv and full conversation . The bathroom was so outdated , the coffee machine was maybe from 1999 , I had to use my hair clip to keep the curtains closed because that wasn't an option there was a gap and I didn't want people looking in ... the pool was nice the kids definitely enjoyed that I will say and the people at the front desk were nice and accommodating, can't complain the worse part of our whole experience was the time share tour . The gentleman Patrick was amazing , he took us around went through his whole presentation about why west gate is the best place to purchase a time share etc... at the end we expressed we were not ready to make a purchase , we had other places in mind after all we do travel a lot so we had to weight our options then they they brought there closer over a woman who was nice enough but any time we expressed we had kids , they were in the room alone , we have been sitting there for more then 2 hours at this point she would dismissed me and my husband unfortunately had to firmly stop her it got a bit heated but I attempted to de-escalate the situation it was his birthday I didn't want him upset . So moral of the story .. ummm I would not return to that location. We're used to more upscale places and this was not it .

This place was okay. It was definitely off-putting that they try to get you to sign up for a time share spiel right at check-in, but it's easy to ignore them, just annoying this is even included. There are 2 pools but the one by the lobby is much bigger, warm, has a kiddy pool and a hot tub plus plenty of chairs and open pretty late. There are activities on site like mini golf, they have grills, and activities to sign up for if you have time and children. It's a good location for Williamsburg attractions. The property is pretty big and we rented a villa-style room that is walkable to the lobby but is kind of far and only street parking in that area away from the main hotel. The bed was fine (but firm) and the room was very small, basically just room for the bed and not much room to lay down a suitcase. The bathroom was fine except no sink counter space. The rooms are dog-friendly which is probably nice if you have a dog but not nice if you don't enjoy staying next to a barking dog. I would stay here again in the summer since I don't need a fancy room if I'm out all day because the pool was nice and relaxing to be at, but nothing else special to note. It wasn't bad, just okay to stay here. Definitely wouldn't get a time share here (or anywhere actually, beware of those.)

Dishwasher bit or little nosiey but fine with me

Washing and dryer and it cozy and build in bed in couch quiet minion fridge but dishwasher is little or bit nosiey but fine with me and air conditioning is great and microwaves too and tv remote can charge them self's with the sun or lighting in the room and usb c and usb ports on outlets and the Va vacation was great! I remmomad room better or be caution for badder rooms but who knows good luck and it also make me feel at home

We had a pleasant stay here. We went to Williamsburg for a night to do some shopping at the outlet mall and go to Captain George's. Our thought was we would drive around to see what was nearby as far as accommodations. I get anxiety booking hotels online because I never know what the area is like, what the hotel looks like in person and how far we might end up from what we want to see. We looked up hotels on Priceline and drove here. They weren't able to match the price, but the total charge ended up being $2.00 less. We're guessing Priceline charges extra fees? Our room was clean. We loved parking right outside the door and it was so close to everywhere we wanted to go. Also, the staff in lobby was all super friendly. We'll definitely go back.

I can't say don't stay here based on the resort, but do not book here. We were scheduled to stay as part of an event. The event was cancelled last minute due to weather, and we cancelled our 2 night hotel. We were charged both nights and the terrible customer service rep and supervisor informed us that their group policy is different than the policy I was provided when I booked. Our reservation showed us no group policy language, only that we would be charged the one night. So, if you like money, like good customer service, and dislike false information, don't book. Policy is attached, why would I be billed for 2 nights?

I feel genuinely bad giving this 1* because of one person at this place so I'm giving Patrick grace and giving 3*. First off the "marketing" rooms they shove you in are no different than any $45 a night motel, I could hear my neighbors TV and conversations word for word with the single adjoining door. The pool is nice, the gym is them doing the bare minimum to say they have a gym, and the rest is all very basic! Now let's get to it we went for a timeshare tour which in all honesty my wife and I are interested in a vacation spot. The guy Patrick who did the initial presentation was one of the best sales people I've come across. I've spent 20 years doing sales and this dude did everything exactly the way I would have. I was genuinely impressed. We explained to him no matter what he said or did we wouldn't be making any decisions in that moment. He actually understood but said his manager needed to come over to give us the "gifts" for our time. This woman who I believe is supposed to be their "closer" was by far the worst excuse of a sales person I've ever seen. She seemed to think because she was a woman she could just speak to people however she wanted. We said no flat out multiple times and my wife said my kids are in the room we have been here 3 hours not 90 minutes as you promised we are going to go. This woman looked at my wife and said "no I'm not letting you leave until I show you this" and that was my breaking point. No one is going to tell my wife what she can or can't do so I proceeded to loose it on her. The sad part is my wife and I both said Patrick did a phenomenal job and if after we weighed our options we decided to go with a timeshare we would have purchased from him simply because of HIM but this rude entitled woman ruined any chance of any Westin ever getting a cent of my money ever!

    Duane G.

The resort was nice but the timeshare presentation was super high pressure and slimy. I know how these are but they bold face lie to your face and will not take no for an answer. No respect for this place knowing how they dupe their "owners"

The in-room customer amenities are especially disappointing. The colors and quality feel dated, and the toothbrushes are extremely poor--bristles came loose while brushing, which raises both quality and hygiene concerns. The bathrobes were rough, overly dried, and clearly shrunken, making them uncomfortable to use. The restaurant also misses the mark. Several dishes felt inexpensive in both ingredients and execution: over-salted hams, cheap syrups, and overall weak preparation. The service team is lovely--and trying--but the food simply isn't at the level expected for this price point. Concierge and front desk interactions were fine, but at this rate, I expect a more thoughtful, elevated experience across the board. With some investment in better amenities, higher-quality guest products, and improved culinary standards, this could be a truly special stay. My room was large, comfortable, and in a great location with easy walking access to town. I especially enjoyed dinner at Fat Canary--excellent food and service.

There may be a family that benefits from housekeeping that swings a door into your feet at 9am, because they are hanging off of a creaky bed, but it certainly wasn't mine. Never mind the pretentiousness of a pretend cigar lounge, meaning not one to smoke in but just an aesthetic throwback to a time when people actually enjoyed themselves at this location. Not that one would want a cigar after eating chocolate pudding that tastes like it was infused with Trix cereal or any of the other dishes who sacrifice taste for novelty. First of all, there was an instruction card that came with the reservation however while it did indicate that there is a backdoor, it did not inform that this was the 'main' entrance. There is very limited parking and if you want to park across at the church on or the street, you are at risk of towing. They have no passes for parking in these locations. The beds are their own issue. If you are vertically challenged, you will have great difficulty getting into the main beds. We stayed in a 'suite' (I use this term laughingly as it was just two connecting rooms) that had another room with twin beds. While the main bed seemed to have a mattress from the last century, the twin beds were ancient. The "pillows" that they give you are quite literally flatter than a pancake they would serve you for breakfast. The suite we stayed in was in the front of the house and there is no insulation to cancel ANY of the traffic noises from outside. It was very very stuffy inside and I wasn't able to open a window. We asked for a step stool and were given one that wasn't even as high as a normal step on a staircase. It was still very difficult to get in to the bed. At no time while I was there did I see, hear or meet the host/hostess of the B&B. The only time we met any employee was in the morning during breakfast. These ladies were AMAZING. They almost made up for the lack of any other service or greeting in their friendliness. The breakfast was late the day I was there. There are signs everywhere stating that it would be served at 8:30 but it was closer to 9:30. I'm an early riser so this was a bit of an inconvenience. At least the coffee was available. They had eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, cereal etc. It was set up as a buffet style in a very stylish area of the serving area. The dining room table is gorgeous but there are no placemats to put your plates on, I felt very worried about scratching this gorgeous table. The non guest rooms were fit with comfy areas to just relax and chill after a day of being a tourist. The furniture may not have been the most comfortable, but given how cozy each area was this was easily forgiven. I really enjoyed that each room had a Christmas tree already set up. This is not very handicapped friendly as no matter which way you enter, there are very old steps. The front steps were especially bad. To sum up; Parking; F Comfort; B Room Comfort: C+ Breakfast: A Location: A- Price: C (for our experience it was really really pricey)

Turns out, it needed to be rebuilt. WiFi was another issue. It only worked if you were standing right by the door. Anywhere else in the room? Zero signal. It seemed like anyone could just walk in and eat--even people not staying at the hotel--which added to the chaos. The website also advertised golf, but there was zero mention or sign of it during our entire stay. For the price we paid and the additional resort fees, we expected much more. So, if you've ever been to Colonial Williamsburg and needed a place to stay, you know that every hotel chain on planet earth has one of their lower tiered brands on Bypass Road and/or some timeshares in the nearby vicinity. But if you really want to be "close to the action", you can stay a CW affiliated property and the most unique of the lot are the Colonial Houses. Let me start by saying that the hardest part of this experience is simply knowing what choices you have. Why? In 2021 I think it's safe to say that most people when they reserve a room like to see an actual or generalized picture of said accommodations along with a basic idea of where the actual property is located. If you want that here, good f-ing luck because it doesn't exist. How it works: Go to their website and put in your dates of stay along with the number of people in your party. Available Colonial House properties show up along with pricing and then you choose one. What's crazy is that CW on their website doesn't offer a map of where their Colonial House properties are located nor do all of the properties offer any pictures as to what the rooms look like or even what the property looks like. What's even crazier is that when you cross-reference that concept with the dough that they charge, it's a hell of a leap of faith for something that you can't fully research before they expect you to plunk down $400 or more. We stayed at the Nicholas-Tyler Laundry which is across the street from the Magazine and on the grounds of the Williamsburg Lodge (which by the way is where you check in for all Colonial Houses). Why this one? A lot of the Colonial House properties are on the smaller side and when you go above two people you knock out a good number of places which for the most part leaves only entire houses and that's where things start to get really pricey even in the off season and on shoulder nights. Nicolas-Tyler has two floors and overall is nicely appointed. The house has two dedicated parking spaces near the house at the far side of the main Wiliamsburg Lodge parking lot. The houses's first floor has a sitting area with small TV and a working fireplace that the housekeeping staff will light if it's below 50 degrees. There is a also a small dorm style fridge oddly placed in a random corner. There is a king sized bed and full bathroom as well. The 2nd floor has a couch, pull out trundle bed and two twin sized beds that are rock hard. There is also another bathroom and shower that are very interesting to use since the pitch of the roof encroaches on the head space big time (i.e. don't be too tall or else showering is borderline impossible). The main view from the back side of the house is of the Magazine and the Courthouse and if you're a CW lover, that can't be beat. With all this there needs to be some context. This house is not one of the original 88 but everything (aside from the TV's/fridge) are dated to look period appropriate. The pricing as I mentioned is super steep. A bit north of $400 for a one night Sunday stay during a sleepy time of March is nuts and at best is a one off gimmick that while nice, is seriously uaffordable to re-do with any kind of frequency let alone some of their other offerings that breach the $500 or $600 per night plateau. If you're looking for value, obviously this isn't it. But if you're looking for a special occasion splurge or something unique for a CW lover then this is it.

WARNING WARNING WARNING Don't Stay Here!!!…read moreWe stayed November 7 thur 14 2025. The bed was comfortable, and the location was good. It goes downhill from there. Very basic unit, no frills. Windows were sealed and unabled to be opened. The toilets were extremely low, as though they were made for children. There were no handrails making it difficult for a 77 year old to get up. Also, there were no handrails in the shower, a large safety concern. The wifi was very slow when it worked, usually non-existent. I now see from other reviews that this is not a new issue. Management just doesn't care. The TV pixelated constantly, making watching it impossible. I spoke with staff numerous times and the issue was never resolved. Tiny kitchen, everything miniature, few accruments. Coffee pot needed cleaning to the point that coffee from it was undrinkable. Whoever purchased the sofa obviously never sat on it for more than 5 minutes, very uncomfortable. No washer and dryer in unit. There is no hot tub on property. The unit needed a good cleaning. You could write in the dust on the bathroonm cabinet shelves. They also charge an unadvertized "daily resort fee". My best guess is that the property is an old hotel converted to Bluegreen's idea of a resort. No comparison to real resorts we have stayed previously, would not stay here again. Bluegreen shoud be ashamed and embarrassed.

Instead, they charged a second $99, totaling $300 for a room I never stayed in. Customer service refused to help or correct the issue. We arrived around 6:30 PM to check in on a Friday and were promptly greeted. Desk attendant acknowledged my Platinum Status and was very friendly. We were given a room on the 1st floor. Room was a two queen bedroom suite with a sofa. Room was a fair size, one tv, bed was comfortable and everything appeared clean. Breakfast each morning was good. Eggs, hash browns, a meat or apples, waffles. A very good selection. Sunday there was a large group of students. Everything was pretty good. They have a game room present with an arcade. My youngest son spent almost an hour in here on 10.00. We used the pool which had a tepid temperature and the hot tub was so so. Location is outstanding. Short drive to Colonial Williamsburg or Busch Gardens. Plenty of restaurants and other businesses nearby. Only question is the color scheme, otherwise this is a perfect option in the area. I'd definitely consider staying here again.
