We had an amazing anniversary dinner! The steak was so good we forgot to take a photo! The ghost of the past cocktail was INCREDIBLE. It's a must order. The lemon and chocolate flavors are so unique and blend perfect. Service was great and we felt well taken care of here and valued. We'd be back.

We had a fabulous stay at the historic houses at Williamsburg Inn. The spa services were fantastic. We had an amazing NYE dinner in the Rockefeller Room. The meal was outstanding! The staff at the Inn are always helpful and attentive. My only disappointment was that the pool was out of service. We will be back again!

What a wonderful Mother's Day gift from our daughter to her mother, and I had the pleasure of enjoying the gift as well. My Grubbing Buddy received a weekend stay at the Williamsburg Inn. Not since our stay at the Graylyn Estates located in Winston-Salem, NC have we enjoyed such an upscale hotel stay. not only were the accommodations but the check-in staff and the Inn's concierges were both helpful and pleasant. Our room was both comfortable and relaxing. Because I am a heavy coffee drinker, the Nespresso coffee machine was a pleasant sight, and served along with the high-end water bottles, Saratoga Natural Spring Water made my morning coffee even nicer. a plush white cotton robe and slippers for us both made our stay even more pleasant. and I've had chocolates lifted on our pillows after turndown but how about chocolate and liqueur "Disaronno" with two beautiful tiny liqueur glasses, I would tell you how good the chocolate and liqueur were, but they were both gone when I came out the shower. My Grubbing Buddy had no idea where it all went. While everything about the Williamsburg Inn was extra ordinary and high-end I would definitely do it all again. Thanks to our daughter we were both introduced to this delightful Inn in Williamsburg.

The Inn's Ginn & Tonic was fantastic.

This review is for the "Restoration Bar" which is the hotel's bar at the entrance of their restaurant. It's not a large area, but boy does it make up for it in terms of luxury. It was early on a January evening and already quite full. Mainly because it is just a small spot. We just grabbed seats at the bar and enjoyed watching the bartender in action. I went ahead and ordered the "Inn's Ginn & Tonic" which was their take on a G&T. Wow, it was fantastic! Refreshing. Crisp. Perfect. The ingredients: Bombay Sapphire Gin, Lavender Bitters, Cucumber, Rosemary, Juniper, Lime, Lemon. It is now highly recommended by me.

We've stayed at many Colonial Williamsburg (CW) properties including in houses right on Duke of Gloucester (DOG) street ... but this most recent stay in Williamsburg Inn takes the cake. We booked a suite because we thought we'd have a child in tow, but as a result of some last minute sports-meet logistics, she stayed at home. We showed up a bit early before our room was ready, but they happily provided a parking pass so that we could park in the lot and wander down to Merchant's square and grab a bite. There is access to ONE (very slow) electric car charger in the lot, but sadly it was in use when we got there. Fortunately it opened up when we returned later once our rooms were ready. The room was clean, spacious, and gorgeous. Maybe it had something to do with the room we chose, but we received a porcelain tray as a gift when we walked in! Our first evening we wandered out to the patio and enjoyed a few absolutely delicious drinks -- I had the Rockefeller Manhattan and a Martinez, while my wife tried the Strawberry Fields. We were also treated to an absolutely fantastic singer/guitarist until 9pm (which is when the patio bar closes). Our second night we ended up having a small late dinner - the burger with Cheddar Pimento Cheese (a messy but delicious concoction), and the grilled caesar. The caesar was admittedly a bit small with sliced anchovies on the side ... but I wasn't hungry so it fit the bill well. Perhaps the coolest thing about our experience though was the thoughtful drinks they left us at night with the turn down service. A full arrangement of tall glasses, bottled still water AND ice in the living room and on the bed a nightcap - Disaronno one night, Bailey's the other. Meanwhile everyone we ran into from housekeeping, check-in staff, bartenders, waiters ... everyone, was great. We found out that our waiter during dinner was enjoying his FIRST shift. Shocking. He was stellar and seemed well practiced. Looking for a place to stay very close to CW and not too price sensitive? This is your place.

I'm a little disappointed in what I was given. I'd say for the cost, I'd need more and feel its probably location.

We arrived around 6:30 PM to check in on a Friday and were promptly greeted. Desk attendant acknowledged my Platinum Status and was very friendly. We were given a room on the 1st floor. Room was a two queen bedroom suite with a sofa. Room was a fair size, one tv, bed was comfortable and everything appeared clean. Breakfast each morning was good. Eggs, hash browns, a meat or apples, waffles. A very good selection. Sunday there was a large group of students. Everything was pretty good. They have a game room present with an arcade. My youngest son spent almost an hour in here on 10.00. We used the pool which had a tepid temperature and the hot tub was so so. Location is outstanding. Short drive to Colonial Williamsburg or Busch Gardens. Plenty of restaurants and other businesses nearby. Only question is the color scheme, otherwise this is a perfect option in the area. I'd definitely consider staying here again.

There may be a family that benefits from housekeeping that swings a door into your feet at 9am, because they are hanging off of a creaky bed, but it certainly wasn't mine. Never mind the pretentiousness of a pretend cigar lounge, meaning not one to smoke in but just an aesthetic throwback to a time when people actually enjoyed themselves at this location. Not that one would want a cigar after eating chocolate pudding that tastes like it was infused with Trix cereal or any of the other dishes who sacrifice taste for novelty. I would have at least been frightened by the Colonial Williamsburg ghost tour, but after staying at this location, I realized that even the spirits probably wouldn't stick around.

First of all, there was an instruction card that came with the reservation however while it did indicate that there is a backdoor, it did not inform that this was the 'main' entrance. There is very limited parking and if you want to park across at the church on or the street, you are at risk of towing. They have no passes for parking in these locations. The beds are their own issue. If you are vertically challenged, you will have great difficulty getting into the main beds. We stayed in a 'suite' (I use this term laughingly as it was just two connecting rooms) that had another room with twin beds. While the main bed seemed to have a mattress from the last century, the twin beds were ancient. The "pillows" that they give you are quite literally flatter than a pancake they would serve you for breakfast. The suite we stayed in was in the front of the house and there is no insulation to cancel ANY of the traffic noises from outside. It was very very stuffy inside and I wasn't able to open a window. We asked for a step stool and were given one that wasn't even as high as a normal step on a staircase. It was still very difficult to get in to the bed. At no time while I was there did I see, hear or meet the host/hostess of the B&B. The only time we met any employee was in the morning during breakfast. These ladies were AMAZING. They almost made up for the lack of any other service or greeting in their friendliness. The breakfast was late the day I was there. There are signs everywhere stating that it would be served at 8:30 but it was closer to 9:30. I'm an early riser so this was a bit of an inconvenience. At least the coffee was available. They had eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, cereal etc. It was set up as a buffet style in a very stylish area of the serving area. The dining room table is gorgeous but there are no placemats to put your plates on, I felt very worried about scratching this gorgeous table. The non guest rooms were fit with comfy areas to just relax and chill after a day of being a tourist. The furniture may not have been the most comfortable, but given how cozy each area was this was easily forgiven. I really enjoyed that each room had a Christmas tree already set up. This is not very handicapped friendly as no matter which way you enter, there are very old steps. The front steps were especially bad. To sum up; Parking; F Comfort; B Room Comfort: C+ Breakfast: A Location: A- Price: C (for our experience it was really really pricey)

We are a middle aged couple, and sometimes when we have the kids with us we review from that perspective as well. So if you were using your Bonvoy points from your Chase or American Express card, I would recommend you stay at Fairfield, town place or Springhill suites over the courtyard. The courtyard doesn't provide free coffee or breakfast. This particular courtyard I was shocked they didn't even offer coffee when it was 20 degrees outside, instead they had ice water with lemons and limes cut up in the lobby... this location should really rethink that. No one wants ice water when it's 20 outside. The place did have a conjoined indoor outdoor heated pool, we did not use it but there were kids using it. The place and room was very clean, staff were ok, not super nice and welcoming like some please. They do seem to have issues with staffing the coffee/food area where you can purchase coffee and food (small sandwiches but nothing filling). They do have lots of green space for your service dog but are not per friendly. They have an excellent restaurant next door, called The Whaleing Company, great food but just know your gonna spend $20 average a person and kids menu was chicken nuggets, pbj, and hot dog type of food (def not Applebees kids menu IYKYK). The clam chowder was very good! They accommodated my request of a ground floor, but my standard Bonvoy request for the extra pillows, towels was not. So just know if your like us and have a standing request for when you book, they don't seem to look at this area. Check in and out was simple, and overall it was a nice stay.
