I have mixed reactions for this hotel. The hotel itself is in desperate need of updating in the rooms. The TVs, furniture, wallpaper is all out of date and definitely showing wear and tear. They are currently updating the lobby and common area with fresh paint. The staff is top notch! The front desk, breakfast staff, and evening social bar tenders are wonderful. I will say that the staff is what makes the stay worth it! I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and they have always been welcoming. As Embassy Suites is our favorite hotel chain,this might be the worst we have ever stayed at but it's not terrible.  Let me explain.   It needs some repairs.  We stayed on the 5th floor and when you exit the elevator look at the wall on your left.  Is it water damage or just in need of replacing the wall paper?  Two elevators and for our 2 night stay only one elevator was up and running.   Just like every other Embassy nice staff, comfortable accommodations, clean room, safe area and private parking lot.  We love happy hour (2 free drinks per adult!) Just a heads up this facility is a school trip hub.  It's Williamsburg- historical hot spot so lots of kids in the pool (it was crowded and loud- people were entering and then leaving!) Also, breakfast: beat the crowd!  We were early each morning but as we were leaving all the kids were entering. read more

The Embassy suites is a go to for our family due to the suite style rooms, the made to order omelets, and evening reception (light snack). The staff are friendly and respond to requests in decent time. However, outside of the staff, I have a few problems: 1. Stains on sheets - We had a double queen bed room, one for our kids to share and one for my wife and I. The kids beds were fine, but my wife and I's bed had a red stain on the flat sheet and a blackish, greenish, greyish stain on the fitted sheet. 2. Had to change our own stained sheets - we found out sheets had stains late at night and so the cleaning crew was gone and we had to change out our own sheets. We asked if there would be a refund for the inconvenience, they advised to speak to the manager in the morning. 3. The new sheets had stains - the new sheets that we were given had similar stains, spots of blackish grey that had a similar pattern to old blood stains. Upon changing the sheets, we saw stains on the bed cover. 4. Sharp edge on the bed frame - there appeared to be a sharp part of the bedframe poking from underneath the box spring. I thought it was strange,but didn't pay much attention to it. After seeing the stains on the bed and changing the sheets, I was curious to see what other people mentioned about their stay. To my surprise, someone mentioned about the sharp object sticking out from under the frame. In the review, the reviewer's spouse ended up gashing the lower part of their leg on the sharp part of the bed frame. In astonishment, it looks the same as our bedframe, so I had to shift the box spring slightly so that sharp edge was no longer exposed. It looks as if there was a piece that was shaven off and caused the sharp edge. The other frame in the room shows a rounded off "L" shaped edge Areas of improvements: -Get newer sheets or find a different method to get stains out. -Check all bedframes to see if they have sharpe edges as previously mentioned, to prevent injury to customers. I hope that others will have a great experience with staff AND have a better all-around bedding experience. At this point, I wouldn't be so quick to recommend this location to others. Luckily I have been to other Embassy Suites, otherwise I would assume this is normal for the brand. Here's to a better experience. read more

This place is scary! The people who work here are lovely! Really good folk. Imagine being lured to Williamsburg to talk time share by Hilton and they put you up in a tear down! The ceiling moldy!...we changed rooms... tired, dirty, and lots broken. We thought... if this is how they care for a property why would we buy into it? Our sales guy explained it away as a holiday shortage of rooms and that's why we were put in this hotel. The hotel is scheduled for renovation...but I'd avoid it until that time! This Hilton brand needs work. It's old, run down and definitely had water damage. Room 500 had peeling wallpaper and a moldy, musty smell. The ice maker did not work. The curtains look like something had chewed the bottom off. Good location but this is a not recommend. read more

Had my folks stay in town, as a little visit.. normally Embassies are reliable// a nice chain of hiltons, but I'd venture to avoid this one unless you're fine with a more rundown approach. Pros: Williamsburg is right there and everything to do with it is in reach, the price wasn't bad around 140 a night compared to some in the area around 200. Breakfast was decent and the staff were great. Cons: The first half of the stay the AC//elevator's were busted and when it was raised as a concern they said the repair people wouldn't be in until the start of the next week, okay not terrible unless you're on the first floor, but my folks are kind of older so having them take 2-3 flights of stairs is a little ridiculous, sure if it was a comfort or days in but it's a embassy.. and lastly the rooms definitely need a remodel just some wear and tear of the years, not terrible shape just a old shape. My recommendation if you want to be in the area and want a Hilton, the Hilton Spark down the road just opened it look nice... read more

I'm sure this was a very nice Embassy Suites 10 or 15 years ago, but that was probably the last time they did a redesign. Furniture is old, torn, faded and dated. The Restaurant area is no longer used and the rooms are really tired. Food at the bar was actually ok, but we kept it to wings and a salad. Breakfast was solid. Service was hit or miss, plus they are understaffed. I'd definitely pass on staying here. read more

A good place to stay when visiting Colonial Williamsurg The Embassy Suites is located within a few miles of the historic city of Colonial Williamsburg. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. There is plenty of parking around the hotel. As with most Embassy Suites hotels, it offers all-suite accommodations with separate living rooms and bedrooms, making it a great option for families or groups of travelers or groups that wants space to spread out when in the room. There is a central atrium that is open to the roof presenting a large open space as you enter and allowing guests to see the whole hotel when they step out of their room. This hotel differed from other Embassy suites in a few ways. It sports only 5 floors where many others are much taller. The elevators do not have any windows to see the atrium and our suite had the bathroom near the front door instead of between the bedroom and living room. Happy hour and cooked-to-order breakfast are served on the main floor at the appropriate times. Rooms are accessed by stairs or one of the elevators bordering the atrium. The staff was friendly. The room and common areas were clean. The rooms was spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed, flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi. The hotel has a fitness center. Overall, this Embassy Suites is a good choice for travelers visiting the area. read more

Stayed for a family weekend trip to Busch gardens and could not have found a better location than embassy suites. It's located close enough to the park, colonial Williamsburg, and plenty of local shoppes and restaurants. The breakfast options here are great with a fresh omelette/egg station and French toast. Only complaint I had was the elevator was horrible, it was terribly slow and for some reason stopped at every floor even if no one hit the button. The parking lot was a bit tight for larger vehicles but there is plenty of spots in the back. read more

We are Hilton Diamond members so always try to stay with the Hilton Family of Hotels when we travel. For this quick weekend trip to Williamsburg we were traveling with our two daughters as well as another family with two kids so we opted for Embassy because we like the pretty standard one bedroom suite options. For this stay we were also able to get an adjoining room with the other family. Check in was super easy and the front desk staff was pleasant. It's a nice lobby with the restaurant and bar area right after you pass the desk in an open atrium area. Each floor forms a ring around it looking down. The pool area is okay if a little sparse. Only a handful of chairs. At one point the had a hot tub (according to pictures) and we had been looking forward to after a day spent at Busch Gardens but apparently it was taken out at some point. Bummer. The reason I gave this hotel three stars instead of four is two reasons. The room sizes were cramped. We didn't expect a ton of space but we've stayed at a number of Embassy suites and these ones are just small. I'm talking two people can't comfortably pass each other if trying to walk between the base of the bed and the dresser in the bedroom. Or even when between the beds. Which leads to the second reason for three stars. One of the beds had a broken (sharp)part of the bed frame exposed and sticking out. When my husband trident slide behind me as I was leaning over the bed getting something from our suitcase, he sliced his lower leg open on it and instantly started bleeding pretty good. We called sown ti the front desk for a band aid and some antiseptic ointment but they never showed or brought it. They seemed almost indifferent to the fact that it even happened when he called. Luckily the friends we were traveling with had a bandaid he could use after the bleeding stopped and he got it cleaned up. The next morning we went down for their breakfast buffet. And this is the reason the review is saved and still solidly at 3 stars (might have even bumped it to a 4 if not for the injury). The buffet is one of the better ones we've had at a hotel. And it is included with your stay. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, the woman making the omelettes was great and the omelet was loaded and tasty! We for downstairs at a busy time but they kept replenishing so no food ran out. We would probably stay here again but maybe not tonight it's so many people as there simply isn't space for it. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We stayed at this hotel from May 16th through the 18th for my nephews graduation from William & Mary. We arrived on Friday the 16th early, around 1:30pm. We were told our room wasn't ready and to come back in and hour and half. No problem, we went to see my nephew and to a few shops. We arrived back at the hotel at 3pm and were told our room was still not ready and it would be another hour. Mind you the graduation started at 5pm and we had to shower and get ready. There were 6 of us in the party and we rented the double room suite. Panic starts to set in. We wait in the lobby for over an hour and then were handed a keycard to the 5th floor. There was only ONE elevator working at the time so the wait was crazy. We FINALLY get up to the room and it's a SINGLE! Back downstairs we go and were told we were given the wrong room. After waiting another 10 minutes for the ONE elevator, we finally make it to the room. Running late for the graduation, my father and I ended up not making it because the handicap area was closed off. My father is 84 with limited mobility. We dropped off my brother and his family so they could atleast attend. Back to the hotel we go. We get back up to the room and realize the air conditioner was leaking onto the carpet. At t his point we didn't even care because we were exhausted. After the ceremony, my father and I went to meet the rest of the family for dinner. We waited by the ONE elevator for a good 15 minutes before someone told us it was not working. So now the one working elevator was broken. My disabled father had to walk up and down 6 flights of stairs for the next 3 days because the elevator didn't work. How can a property owned by HILTON let it get in such bad shape?? On the last night of our stay, the air conditioner didn't work so we were in hot, humid rooms. I have never had such a horrible experience at any hotel ever. The front desk staff was less than helpful and didn't offer any solutions. No one was able to help carry our luggage down the 6 flights of stairs on the day we checked out. This was one of the higher priced hotels in the area and was in the worst shape. I will never stay at another Embassy Suites because of this experience. read more

We had a nice 1 night stay there while visiting Williamsburg. Our room was clean, and comfortable. In the morning, we had breakfast there. It was a buffet style that they serve the food to you. The pancakes and sausage were barely warm, so we had to leave them on the plate. You can toast you'd own bread, and get your own cereal and juice. They did make the eggs to order however you like. This is a real plus from what the other hotels are offering during COVID. The ladies that served the breakfast were super kind and helpful. I'm glad to see things starting to go back to the direction of normal. That is a good option to stay if we are at Williamsburg again. read more

I brought it to the attention of the front desk clerk and she wanted to argue with me about if you can actually SEE bed bugs! I'm not sure how this place is an embassy suites. I hope they haven't lowered the standard at all embassy suites. The biggest issue on this trip was the elevator. The hotel has 2 but only 1 is working. A coworker stayed here a few months and said it was broke then as well. I asked an employee and they said it has been broken for a long time and the owner is too cheap to fix it. One functional elevator is not enough for a hotel this size. To make it worse we were on the top floor. Second, the white sheets had stains on them and did not fit the bed so they kept coming off. Third, the indoor pool is green so it was unusable. We should've spent half the money money and just stayed at one of the older hotels that doesn't pretend to be something they're not. Our next trip to Williamsburg will definitely not involve Embassy Suites. Do yourself a favor and choose the Hampton Inn. It looks much nicer and probably has clean linens, pools and functional elevators. read more

Where to start with this hotel...Diamond Member review. Very clear causality of Covid. I had the pleasure of staying here 2 years ago...it was a highlight of our trip. Very different experience this past week and the culprit was clearly poor management and lack of proper staffing due to Covid. We stayed 5 nights. The staff that were there did the best they could...and I almost bumped this review to 2 stars on their behalf - but frankly, it just wasn't good enough. The issues started immediately upon checkin. The room we were assigned was occupied by a very understanding woman who was showering when I entered. We left immediately and went to the front desk for assistance. We were then assigned a new room - but were told we may have to move after a day or two because that room was booked by another guest. We didn't end up being moved, but it was still a rather inconvenient experience. This is also where we learned that the property manager was on vacation this week and that the hotel had a total of 2 people working there that day. Keep in mind, this is Colonial Williamsburg on the week leading up to the 4th of July. The hotel was packed full. I wouldn't typically harp on someone for taking vacation...but maybe don't take vacation on your busiest week when severely understaffed. The rest of our stay was uneventful...though there were many issues. Here is a list of the current problems... 1) Breakfast went from something I'd gladly pay for 2 years ago (even though it was free - huge perk!) to something I paid money to avoid this trip. It was supposed to be 'made-to-order' breakfast...it wasn't. Everything was pre-made in large batches. The eggs were over half oil - inedible. Biscuits were cold and gross. Pancakes (seriously, how do you mess up pancakes?!?) were mealy and disgusting. We ended up eating stale cereal and milk a few times to avoid this breakfast. 2) The indoor pool wasn't maintained properly. Floor was slippery and the water had a green tinge to it. The water was way over chlorinated...to the point it burned the skin upon prolonged exposure. Towels were regularly unavailable. 3) Housekeeping was non-existent. According to the front desk, 'as a covid precaution we aren't offering regular housekeeping services. You must request turnover service each day before 730am if you want it. You'd think with no house keeping they'd overload the rooms with consumables like towels and soap/shampoo - no. We ran out of each after the 2nd day. 4) The air conditioning was woefully under powered in the room. It was a hot week - mid 90's. The room temperatures were in the mid 70's at their low. I expect a hotel room to be able to maintain mid 60's. Furthermore, the lobby air conditioning was out all 5 days of our stay. I can understand a broken AC unit - these things happen - but not fixing it for 5 straight days is completely unacceptable. 5) Business Center computers and printers were broken the entirety of our stay. This was a big problem as Colonial Williamsburg and Water Country USA require printed tickets and reservations. 6) Wi-fi signal does not penetrate room 104. I'm not sure if this problem is wide scale throughout the hotel - but we were unable to connect to wi-fi from our room. We had to move to the un-airconditioned lobby for wi-fi signal. That's it. I rarely give Hilton hotels bad reviews...I value my relationship with them as a Diamond Member and they frequently go well out of their way to help me...this experience however, It would be a disservice to Hilton not to call out the problems at this hotel. Quick check-in. Desk clerks were always pleasant and responsive. Both elevators were discovered to be broken just as we checked in. Clerk changed us from the 5th floor to the 2nd floor since we would have to use the stairs. Room was clean, but too warm. We turned down the air and it only got hotter. Called the front desk and they sent security to check it. She reset the unit and it cooled down and was comfortable for a few hours. Breakfast was decent and plentiful at 8am. Coffee machine went down for a bit but they were able to get it up and running again. There was a $50 hold added to my card for incidentals but it was released upon check out. We stayed two nights. The 1st day our water in the shower got up to scaulding temps. The second day, it was barely hot. We have stayed in better places and worse places. I would give it another try on a return trip. read more

This is by far the worst hotel I've stayed in. My family stays in lots and lots of Embassy Suites before and they have all been very nice. Except this one. This one felt like the devil himself was dragging me down to the fiery pits of the abyss. Never stay here. There is only one functional elevator and from my understanding the owner is just too cheap to fix it! The breakfast was bad. Dry and cold and just generally bad. There is free WiFi but it is just abysmal. If you pay for premium WiFi you deserve what happens to you. Nobody should have to sit and suffer in their rooms and wait hours for a website to load. I wrote this in my hotel room and I was on mobile data because my phone refused to connect. The toilet clogged for seemingly no apparent reason. Spare yourself 300$/night. Don't ever EVER stay here. I love embassy suites but this one. No. Just no. read more

Our initial start wasn't anything great. Our first room we got was still dirty. Hairs all over the bathroom. I told the front desk, and said we were going out to dinner. She said they would take care of it. When we got back to our room they must have just cleaned directly in front of the sink. The hairs were still all over. Went back downstairs, because my daughter refused to stay in that room. They gave us a new room and my daughter and I went to check the room. It had hairs in it also but not quite as much. So we decided to switch rooms. Left a note so housekeeping would know we had more then usual in the rooms and she wrote back with a very nice note to us. And she left us the extra towels we needed. We will see how checkout goes tomorrow. read more

This is an anomaly for Embassy Suites, very bad! Friday July 1, 2022 lobby and reception area 90 degrees! Entire stay elevators 90 degrees with "water" on floors! Staff extremely rude! They did not clean our room. Asked for more towels when maid was standing in room with clean towels. Very nasty said "Go downstairs and ask front desk"! I am Diamond Level and have stayed at 20 Embassy Suites. All 5 Stars except this one with one star. They let this guy vape in reception area where there was food! Staff saw it and said NOTHING! Even though advertised as no smoking inside, apparently vaping is OK! Elevator floors dirty and disgusting, hold your nose inside smelly SLOW 90 degree elevator! Staff treats you like you crawled out from under a rock. One staff member some dog brushed against his leg. I was behind those people and he turned around to me and cursed at me! Never been cursed at while I stayed at Hilton property the past 30 years!!!! This place needs to remove the Embassy Suites sign as it is a disgrace to the brand. Staff don't care, treat guests as peasants, maybe it is a recitation of life in Colonial Williamsburg. I will be forwarding this review to Corporate Hilton. We have stayed here a lot. We checked in late on 12/28 with two kids. No mention of broken elevators. I asked at the desk when they would be fixed and was told they had just broken down and would be fixed by midnight. We then learned from another guest that they had been broken the entire week. We also never saw anyone fixing the elevator our entire stay. We asked the morning staff and they said they had no clue because no one had given them any information about the elevators being broken. We asked about having dinner delivered and they said the drivers would not walk up to the fourth floor but they would hold at desk and call us. They called us and informed us they can't hold the delivery and they would stick it in the bar area. I go down to pick up dinner and it's missing. I ask the front desk clerk and he throws his hands up and goes sorry we can't accept deliveries we lay the on the table (not what he told me 30 minutes before). Dinner was located. Coffee machine was also broken but later fixed. The breakfast staff, bar staff and housekeeping were great. However, the night front desk crew could use some training in customer service. read more

Unfortunately this embassy suites did not have the high quality, amazing facility, environment most are known for. The pool was unfortunately not heated (as in ice cold), but no notice was given prior to using the pool. There is an advertisement of a pool and spa, but no spa exists, just a sign. The hotel allowed us to use a sister hotel pool but it was very difficult to use (had to drive to access). We specifically booked the weekend for the pool and even called to verify it was accessible for the weekend. The rooms were fine, but not as clean as they normally are known for, The bathtub required a rinse before using and the toilet had an issue as well. We are Hilton Honors members, and we stay at Hilton Hotels almost every time we travel. We try to stay at Embassy Suites, becuase they are always excellent and also because of the breakfast. This is the first Embassy Suites we have been totally disappointed in. First, they got our room wrong. I need an ace room, they gave us a regular room even after my husband made sure we had one at check in. They did fix the problem after an hour. Second, after traveling 7 hours in the car, we were tired and wanted dinner. We decided to eat at the hotel because we just didn't want to drive any longer. Ever Embassy Suites that we have ever used, has a great restaurant. This one advertised the "Jefferson Room Restaurant". There wasn't one. The food was ordered through the bar, and it was bar eats. Semi baked pizzas, chicken wings, steak sandwiches. This is,not what we expected. The food was mediocre at best. We ate it because we were tired and hungry. I should have eaten a Hot Pocket, it would have tasted better. Breakfast the next morning was fresh, but just meh. Nothing to get excited about. We won't stay at this Embassy Suites again. read more

So here's the thing, I actually like Hilton hotels but they are not all created equal. This hotel is ok for one night but I would have canceled my reservation if I was staying more than one day. The staff was nice for checking in and out but I was shocked at how little they knew about Williamsburg, Va. C'mon ma'am, you live here and you don't know anything about your own town? And then there is the condition of the hotel, it's a MEH for me. Although I was warned (at check in) , the only room they had available was right next to the pool, which is open until 10pm! That's a fail for me. The room was a little dated but again it was just one night, so I wasn't too concerned. Also even with Covid 19 they were still serving breakfast! (Which we did not desire to eat AT ALL) Nor did we desire to spend a lot of time in the room. For the price that I got the room and , during this off season I could tolerate the minor irritants, however I would never stay here twice. The bathroom was not properly cleaned, toilet seemed to have been used before we occupied the room, (even with the sticker on the outside of the room that read "this room has been cleaned and inspected" NOT! Whelp, we live and learn and then there is YELP! Thank God for YELP! I will never book a hotel again without checking into Yelp first. read more

If zero was available, I'd give it a zero star. My family and I have been going to this particular hotel for nearly 15 years. The quality has definitely gone downhill. Everyone wants to use Covid as an excuse for not having staff or the ability to provide services. The managers reception used to run from 5:30 to 7:30 PM and it was all you can drink with snacks. Now they limit you to two drinks. The pool is no longer heated so you can't even get in it. The hot tub is gone. They're down to one elevator and it's the only thing that hasn't been upgraded. The rooms look like they've been updated but they still have the old carpet. The staff that works there is friendly enough. You don't get your room clean unless you let them know the night before. I didn't need that so much for a 2 to 3 night stay I could take care of it myself. But you don't enjoy the Manager's reception if you're only getting two drinks. The breakfast is low quality as well. Has definitely gone downhill. They serve you and don't allow you to serve yourself anymore. What used to be the big Otis Spunkmeyer muffins are now these tiny little blueberry muffins that look like they come from Aldi. Not that I don't enjoy Aldi but when you're paying $300 a night for a room you expect a little better. I'll be looking for another hotel to stay in when I visit Williamsburg again. I would've left after the first day, but I booked a nonrefundable thinking we had gotten back to normal. read more

The place needs major renovation. The elevator doors were a tight squeeze, the elevators smelled like mold. The windows in our room had some nasty orange caulk around it to waterproof. The caulk was also on the drapes. We did not do the evening reception, the breakfast was mediocre at best. Embassy Suites used to be upscale, this was not. read more

I stayed at Embassy Suites over the recent Christmas holiday. It was primarily chosen because it offered true suites with separate sleeping and living areas, and was a short distance away from Historic Colonial Williamsburg. The stay was a solidly confortable enjoyable one. The hotel is located on a private road, so no matter what side you're on, you don't hear road traffic. There are multiple entranced to the building from the parking lot, so you're unlikely to get stuck with a bad parking space if you come in late at night. A breakfast buffet, including a made-to-order omelette station is included every morning. The hotel hosts a free 90 minute happy hour with beer, wine, liquor drinks, cocoa and snacks. There is an indoor pool open until 10pm. The room itself was pretty comfortable. It had separate living and sleeping rooms with televisions in each, a mini fridge and wet bar. The bathroom was spacious and offered adequate under sink storage. The beds had warm, down comforters. There are only two downsides worth mentioning. First, vacuuming does not seem to be a regular occurrence. We arrived to find nuts and other debris at the base of the bed. It took 2 days of calling housekeeping, and then personally confronting a housekeeper, (who had to track down a vacuum cleaner because there wasn't one on his cart) to get it cleaned. Second, although the open design of the main lobby is conducive to socializing, sounds can travel up and into the rooms. It was a pleasant experience overall, and I would definitely visit again. read more

Great place to stay! The rooms were nice size and well appointed. The front desk staff were superb! I had an issue ordering room service and they were so accommodating and helped facilitate the order. The room service food was great. Very large portions and arrived hot. The server was very polite and friendly. Free breakfast had a lot to offer! The chef making omelets was very pleasant and fun to watch. While the open style is cool, some patrons stay downstairs pretty late and can get loud. Sound travels up, and you can hear from the front living room area. The bedroom not so much, but we typically book this type of hotel for the extra pull out bed in the living room. Unfortunately my daughter was awoken by some of these loud patrons. Hopefully this is not a common occurrence. We didn't get to use the indoor pool but glad to know they have one. Maybe we will have more time next visit. read more
