My stay for the price was very comfortable. The room was clean and had an abundance amount of towels, the staff was helpful and pleasant. The washer and dryer was free. The swimming pool had too many ducks. The jets didn't work on the jacuzzi. But everything i needed was in walking distance.

Sleeper mattress

Hello, Upon entering this room there was a faint smell of urine. Once we got cleaned up for the night my godson pulled the sofa out and noticed that the smell got stronger which should have been no surprise since the sofa itself was already filled with stains. There was a urine stain on the end of the mattress pad that fits underneath the mattress so I tried to clean that but the smell didn't go away. I called the front desk and no one was available as it was after 9:00 p.m. We removed the mattress pad and just placed it on the floor by the door figuring that we would get a fresh one the following day.  Once the mattress was exposed, we noticed horrible stains which looked like bodily fluid.  Although we were unable to ascertain whether that was actually bodily fluid or some other type of liquid, it was disgusting as well as a health hazard and should not have been there.  The next morning, I went up to the front desk and spoke with Imani. I do appreciate Imani's understanding and immediacy in getting us a replacement mattress and linen but this whole thing was quite troubling to say the least. She also asked that I email her the photos along with emailing it to the Patriots Inn formal email address which I did. She had stated that a manager would reach out but no management ever did. It shows how little they care. DISGUSTING!

Sleeping in the car at patriots inn in Williamsburg!

This place is unbelievable, we booked a stay at patriots inn and we were not informed by patriots inn or the third party that this place closes at 9pm. You can not check in after 9pm just so you know if your thinking of coming here. There was another family in the same position as we were because we both happened to arrive at 11:30 pm. I called the manager Tonia ( I think that's her name I'll correct in the morning) and she basically said not her problem, we should have been informed call the third party, I told her we drove for twelve hours and have no where to go. Not her problem sorry is what we were told. Go find somewhere else to go. Ok my family does not matter!!!! All other hotels in the area were booked. I know businesses have their policies, I run a business myself, and leaving families outside with no where to go is un acceptable and poor policy. There should be a contingency plan for late check ins or the manager should have come and helped. I would never treat a client in this manner and I think it's so crappy that this is how this manager handled this situation. I will never come to this place again and our stay is just beginning here, let's see how this week goes. Night from the patriots hotel parking lot. Sincerely tired and angry.

The Patriot Inn is a timeshare that is conveniently located near Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement, Yorktown Victory Center and William and Mary College. The staff is very professional and eager to assist. When you check in they offer you a welcome packet with a summary and directions to all of the area attractions. You are also given a run down of the local eateries. The suites are newly renovated and extremely comfortable. Our suite has a kitchen, living room with an electric fireplace, a bedroom and two bathrooms. Everything was clean and in perfect working order. Housekeeping services are offered twice a week.

Second bathroom tub/shower...

Patriots Inn, large parking lot, nice size pool, the units are good size, but only one elevator, gets a bit busy on check in and check out peak times. Nice security setup with access cards to get into your building but didn't see any cameras in the hallways. The rooms are very clean and modern, only had 2 minor issues with the room I was given....only had one bar of soap, not enough for a week's stay. The garbage was never removed from the last guest that stayed in the room. There were three TVs in the room, all are quite small. The water pressure was excellent considering I was on the top floor. There is a washer & dryer on each floor but no detergent available. Would definitely return to stay here again, it was very quiet, who doesn't like that?

What a great value! We stayed in a 1 bedroom king suite which was nicely furnished, very clean and well stocked with essentials for your kitchen. The great part was having 2 bathrooms. The bathroom off of the bedroom offers a giant stand up shower and there is a standard tub/shower in the bathroom off of the kitchen and living room area. The couch is a sleeper sofa so this suite could easily sleep 4 people. We will definitely return! There were flat screens in both the living room and bedroom as well as a gas fireplace in the living room. Its conveniently located right next to ihop for breakfast and tons of other restaurants and shops. Traffic was a pain, trying to make a left (there is no traffic light and majority of your food and shops are to the left) but no complaints other than that.

Email with a rather large math error.

Don't stay here. Check-in ends at 7 pm (the current time is due to COVID, I think it's 9 pm normally). We've stayed here 3 times. The first time was ok, but the last 2 haven't been great. We've had issues with the kitchenware not being clean and having chips/nicks. The coffee tastes like dishwater. Our shower had no shelf on our last visit, and the lip from the shower floor to the bathroom floor was almost non-existent, so water got all over the floor when we took showers. Finally, the manager told me that she would issue a refund for our stay. I don't know if she did the math wrong or what, but she said she would refund 25% of our $273.32 total to make our total $165.17. This is incorrect, but since she promised us a refund of $108.15, I felt that she should deliver. Unfortunately, when the hotel didn't issue the refund, Expedia was only willing to authorize the 25% refund of $68.33. I emailed her asking for her to refund the proper amount, but I never heard back from her, which caused me to contact Expedia a second time today. Expedia issued the 25% refund and gave me a $50 voucher. I LOVE going to Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown. I've had amazing service at many of the hotels, restaurants, and shops there. I would not stay in this hotel again even if my stay were free.

silverfish in picture frame
Steph D.

I have been here at least five times and today there were a bunch of silverfish in the picture frame and a live one crawling on the wall, the color changing lights in the pool didnt turn on, and the hot tub was cold. It not that much of a bother to me but it is to my family :( other than that the rooms are really nice and the bathrooms are always clean.

Bathroom floor

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights as a getaway. Nice location and the room was very nice and cozy; we got a king size room that had two full bathrooms, a living room, a kitchenette and an electric fireplace with no heat but created a cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately our experience wasn't as good as other reviews, which was disappointing. When I first went to check in there was no one at the front desk..but I could hear people talking in the back office. I waited 10 minutes, when no one came out I had to say "hello" loudly several times before a young lady finally came out. Once we got our room I noticed the bottom of my feet get extremely dirty while walking barefoot, then I noticed the floors had not been mopped in the kitchenette area and bathroom..I took some toilet paper and wiped the floor in front of the toilet and it was filthy. The stovetop and inside of the oven were filthy and obviously hadn't been cleaned. A used bar of soap was left in the shower and the shower handle wasn't clean. In one of the bathrooms the toilet paper holder next to the toilet was disgusting; it was filthy, had hair stuck to it and what looked like splatter...upon checking out I complained to the receptionist and asked to speak to the manager but she instead had a person from housekeeping come out... I showed her pictures of what I saw in the room and she tried to tell me it was rust on the toilet paper holder, but rust doesn't wipe off... I hoped that I would have been offered restitution of some kind but wasn't. Its sad... I loved the room but my experience with housekeeping was terrible... I might consider staying here again.

There may be a family that benefits from housekeeping that swings a door into your feet at 9am, because they are hanging off of a creaky bed, but it certainly wasn't mine. Never mind the pretentiousness of a pretend cigar lounge, meaning not one to smoke in but just an aesthetic throwback to a time when people actually enjoyed themselves at this location. Not that one would want a cigar after eating chocolate pudding that tastes like it was infused with Trix cereal or any of the other dishes who sacrifice taste for novelty. I would have at least been frightened by the Colonial Williamsburg ghost tour, but after staying at this location, I realized that even the spirits probably wouldn't stick around.

First of all, there was an instruction card that came with the reservation however while it did indicate that there is a backdoor, it did not inform that this was the 'main' entrance. There is very limited parking and if you want to park across at the church on or the street, you are at risk of towing. They have no passes for parking in these locations. The beds are their own issue. If you are vertically challenged, you will have great difficulty getting into the main beds. We stayed in a 'suite' (I use this term laughingly as it was just two connecting rooms) that had another room with twin beds. While the main bed seemed to have a mattress from the last century, the twin beds were ancient. The "pillows" that they give you are quite literally flatter than a pancake they would serve you for breakfast. The suite we stayed in was in the front of the house and there is no insulation to cancel ANY of the traffic noises from outside. It was very very stuffy inside and I wasn't able to open a window. We asked for a step stool and were given one that wasn't even as high as a normal step on a staircase. It was still very difficult to get in to the bed. At no time while I was there did I see, hear or meet the host/hostess of the B&B. The only time we met any employee was in the morning during breakfast. These ladies were AMAZING. They almost made up for the lack of any other service or greeting in their friendliness. The breakfast was late the day I was there. There are signs everywhere stating that it would be served at 8:30 but it was closer to 9:30. I'm an early riser so this was a bit of an inconvenience. At least the coffee was available. They had eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, cereal etc. It was set up as a buffet style in a very stylish area of the serving area. The dining room table is gorgeous but there are no placemats to put your plates on, I felt very worried about scratching this gorgeous table. The non guest rooms were fit with comfy areas to just relax and chill after a day of being a tourist. The furniture may not have been the most comfortable, but given how cozy each area was this was easily forgiven. I really enjoyed that each room had a Christmas tree already set up. This is not very handicapped friendly as no matter which way you enter, there are very old steps. The front steps were especially bad. To sum up; Parking; F Comfort; B Room Comfort: C+ Breakfast: A Location: A- Price: C (for our experience it was really really pricey)

(This visit was made during the times of Covidious earlier this month. When things return to a look…read moreof normality - your experience likely will vary.) So, if you've ever been to Colonial Williamsburg and needed a place to stay, you know that every hotel chain on planet earth has one of their lower tiered brands on Bypass Road and/or some timeshares in the nearby vicinity. But if you really want to be "close to the action", you can stay a CW affiliated property and the most unique of the lot are the Colonial Houses. Let me start by saying that the hardest part of this experience is simply knowing what choices you have. Why? In 2021 I think it's safe to say that most people when they reserve a room like to see an actual or generalized picture of said accommodations along with a basic idea of where the actual property is located. If you want that here, good f-ing luck because it doesn't exist. How it works: Go to their website and put in your dates of stay along with the number of people in your party. Available Colonial House properties show up along with pricing and then you choose one. What's crazy is that CW on their website doesn't offer a map of where their Colonial House properties are located nor do all of the properties offer any pictures as to what the rooms look like or even what the property looks like. What's even crazier is that when you cross-reference that concept with the dough that they charge, it's a hell of a leap of faith for something that you can't fully research before they expect you to plunk down $400 or more. We stayed at the Nicholas-Tyler Laundry which is across the street from the Magazine and on the grounds of the Williamsburg Lodge (which by the way is where you check in for all Colonial Houses). Why this one? A lot of the Colonial House properties are on the smaller side and when you go above two people you knock out a good number of places which for the most part leaves only entire houses and that's where things start to get really pricey even in the off season and on shoulder nights. Nicolas-Tyler has two floors and overall is nicely appointed. The house has two dedicated parking spaces near the house at the far side of the main Wiliamsburg Lodge parking lot. The houses's first floor has a sitting area with small TV and a working fireplace that the housekeeping staff will light if it's below 50 degrees. There is a also a small dorm style fridge oddly placed in a random corner. There is a king sized bed and full bathroom as well. The 2nd floor has a couch, pull out trundle bed and two twin sized beds that are rock hard. There is also another bathroom and shower that are very interesting to use since the pitch of the roof encroaches on the head space big time (i.e. don't be too tall or else showering is borderline impossible). The main view from the back side of the house is of the Magazine and the Courthouse and if you're a CW lover, that can't be beat. With all this there needs to be some context. This house is not one of the original 88 but everything (aside from the TV's/fridge) are dated to look period appropriate. The pricing as I mentioned is super steep. A bit north of $400 for a one night Sunday stay during a sleepy time of March is nuts and at best is a one off gimmick that while nice, is seriously uaffordable to re-do with any kind of frequency let alone some of their other offerings that breach the $500 or $600 per night plateau. If you're looking for value, obviously this isn't it. But if you're looking for a special occasion splurge or something unique for a CW lover then this is it.

WARNING WARNING WARNING Don't Stay Here!!!…read moreWe stayed November 7 thur 14 2025. The bed was comfortable, and the location was good. It goes downhill from there. Very basic unit, no frills. Also, there were no handrails in the shower, a large safety concern. The wifi was very slow when it worked, usually non-existent. I now see from other reviews that this is not a new issue. Management just doesn't care. The TV pixelated constantly, making watching it impossible. I spoke with staff numerous times and the issue was never resolved.
