Upon check-in Allison was very friendly and pleasant. While speaking with her she even told me about a farmer's market the following morning. Our room was really a suite, much larger than a normal hotel room. It had two bathrooms. The master bathroom was very large and included an oversized shower. It had a living/dining room and a small kitchen area. The electric fireplace was an unexpected surprise. The room was quiet with no noise from other guests or from outside. This truly is a 1-star place, and the word "resort" is a joke. It's a motel. The front desk is only staffed from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m., so if you arrive after that, you're out of luck. Due to our flight being delayed 3 times, we did not arrive until 2:30 a.m. Thank God my sister thought ahead and made them leave her keys in a lockbox; otherwise we would've been sleeping in the car. The phone call it took for her to acquire this lockbox was, I'm not kidding, 5 hours of being passed from person to person. We had a 2 bed 2 bath with a sleeper sofa, and it's so unbelievably crowded that there were only a few inches clearance for people to squeeze through when the sofa bed was out. There were no exhaust fans in our bathrooms (!!!), so after showers were steamy and very uncomfortable. If a family of 4 were here, it would be at least decent for space, but with a 5th person, it's very crowded and uncomfortable. We requested extra towels, washcloths, and pillows, which are only available every other day. We had to put our used towels in trash bags we got from the front desk & leave them outside our room for replenishment. Good thing we left for the day because they didn't get delivered for over 6 hours (we came back to check after 4 hours). And the pillows are minuscule! Where did they get them, an airline??! We had to go buy proper pillows at the HomeGoods a little bit away. Dishwasher was hit or miss - one time we ran it and the detergent pellet ended up not getting used. Water pressure in the showers is below subpar. It took twice to 3 times as long to get clean as it does in a decent shower. And the laundry room is only open from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. People are on vacation and up at all hours -- leave it open 24 hours!! The best things I can say are ... it was clean, there was a/c, running water, and a door that locked. That's about it. Couldn't wait to leave and, of course, won't be back. read more

We had read a number of positive reviews when we book the room, but as I dug deeper after discovering, I had been mauled by bedbugs following my stay there, it appears that they have had reports of bedbug infestations previously and appear not to have addressed the issue,. The checkin is late for a hotel (4 PM), early for a checkout (10 AM) and when you request a later time, they will give you only a half-hour. Hello, Upon entering this room there was a faint smell of urine. Once we got cleaned up for the night my godson pulled the sofa out and noticed that the smell got stronger which should have been no surprise since the sofa itself was already filled with stains. There was a urine stain on the end of the mattress pad that fits underneath the mattress so I tried to clean that but the smell didn't go away. I called the front desk and no one was available as it was after 9:00 p.m. We removed the mattress pad and just placed it on the floor by the door figuring that we would get a fresh one the following day.  Once the mattress was exposed, we noticed horrible stains which looked like bodily fluid.  Although we were unable to ascertain whether that was actually bodily fluid or some other type of liquid, it was disgusting as well as a health hazard and should not have been there.  The next morning, I went up to the front desk and spoke with Imani. I do appreciate Imani's understanding and immediacy in getting us a replacement mattress and linen but this whole thing was quite troubling to say the least. She also asked that I email her the photos along with emailing it to the Patriots Inn formal email address which I did. She had stated that a manager would reach out but no management ever did. This place is unbelievable, we booked a stay at patriots inn and we were not informed by patriots inn or the third party that this place closes at 9pm. You can not check in after 9pm just so you know if your thinking of coming here. There was another family in the same position as we were because we both happened to arrive at 11:30 pm. I called the manager Tonia ( I think that's her name I'll correct in the morning) and she basically said not her problem, we should have been informed call the third party, I told her we drove for twelve hours and have no where to go. Not her problem sorry is what we were told. Go find somewhere else to go. Ok my family does not matter!!!! All other hotels in the area were booked. I know businesses have their policies, I run a business myself, and leaving families outside with no where to go is un acceptable and poor policy. There should be a contingency plan for late check ins or the manager should have come and helped. I would never treat a client in this manner and I think it's so crappy that this is how this manager handled this situation. You are also given a run down of the local eateries. The suites are newly renovated and extremely comfortable. Our suite has a kitchen, living room with an electric fireplace, a bedroom and two bathrooms. Everything was clean and in perfect working order. Patriots Inn, large parking lot, nice size pool, the units are good size, but only one elevator, gets a bit busy on check in and check out peak times. Nice security setup with access cards to get into your building but didn't see any cameras in the hallways. The rooms are very clean and modern, only had 2 minor issues with the room I was given....only had one bar of soap, not enough for a week's stay. The garbage was never removed from the last guest that stayed in the room. There were three TVs in the room, all are quite small. The water pressure was excellent considering I was on the top floor. There is a washer & dryer on each floor but no detergent available. Would definitely return to stay here again, it was very quiet, who doesn't like that? read more

Had reserved a room a couple weeks back. Was supposed to spend a night but due to an extreme health issue with a pet who suddenly needed a tube inserted in her neck and to be fed through the tube every 4 hours, it is impossible to travel now. We've just spent a heck of a lot of money on the cat whose chances of survival are actually good but the hotel doesn't allow pets and refuse to be reasonable to refund us a lousy $154.00. I have no problem providing proof of our pet's current situation but still no. I will never consider staying here or any of the properties belonging to this group. While one likes to think that you won't have to cancel, unexpected crap happens. Keep this mind if you think nothing bad will happen to you and you won't need to cancel. It's simply unacceptable especially when proof is handy. read more

What a great value! We stayed in a 1 bedroom king suite which was nicely furnished, very clean and well stocked with essentials for your kitchen. The great part was having 2 bathrooms. The bathroom off of the bedroom offers a giant stand up shower and there is a standard tub/shower in the bathroom off of the kitchen and living room area. The couch is a sleeper sofa so this suite could easily sleep 4 people. We will definitely return! There were flat screens in both the living room and bedroom as well as a gas fireplace in the living room. Its conveniently located right next to ihop for breakfast and tons of other restaurants and shops. Traffic was a pain, trying to make a left (there is no traffic light and majority of your food and shops are to the left) but no complaints other than that. read more

Don't stay here. Check-in ends at 7 pm (the current time is due to COVID, I think it's 9 pm normally). We've stayed here 3 times. The first time was ok, but the last 2 haven't been great. We've had issues with the kitchenware not being clean and having chips/nicks. The coffee tastes like dishwater. Our shower had no shelf on our last visit, and the lip from the shower floor to the bathroom floor was almost non-existent, so water got all over the floor when we took showers. Finally, the manager told me that she would issue a refund for our stay. I don't know if she did the math wrong or what, but she said she would refund 25% of our $273.32 total to make our total $165.17. This is incorrect, but since she promised us a refund of $108.15, I felt that she should deliver. Unfortunately, when the hotel didn't issue the refund, Expedia was only willing to authorize the 25% refund of $68.33. I emailed her asking for her to refund the proper amount, but I never heard back from her, which caused me to contact Expedia a second time today. Expedia issued the 25% refund and gave me a $50 voucher. I LOVE going to Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown. I've had amazing service at many of the hotels, restaurants, and shops there. I would not stay in this hotel again even if my stay were free. read more

I have been here at least five times and today there were a bunch of silverfish in the picture frame and a live one crawling on the wall, the color changing lights in the pool didnt turn on, and the hot tub was cold. It not that much of a bother to me but it is to my family :( other than that the rooms are really nice and the bathrooms are always clean. read more

My goodness....I got so much more than I expected here! A long-time bargain traveler, I am always on the lookout for a great deal, and the Patriot Inn far surpassed any expectations. The King Bed Family Room set me back $120 per night in late August. It has a FULL kitchen (oven, stovetop, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher) attached to a den/dining area and a FIREPLACE! There is a full bath adjacent to the living room The bedroom has its own master bath with a HUGE walk-in shower. Both rooms have TVs. The den has a DVD player as well. This hotel is obviously brand new. The carpets and appliances are so clean, they look unused. The bathrooms practically sparkle. The property has a large outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, which in spite of being in the middle of a parking lot, I thoroughly enjoyed. I couldn't have been happier with my stay at the Patriot Inn in Williamsburg, and I will absolutely without hesitation recommend this fantastic place. As a matter of fact, I am currently looking for an excuse to return, so I can relax in this home-away-from-home. read more

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights as a getaway. Nice location and the room was very nice and cozy; we got a king size room that had two full bathrooms, a living room, a kitchenette and an electric fireplace with no heat but created a cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately our experience wasn't as good as other reviews, which was disappointing. When I first went to check in there was no one at the front desk..but I could hear people talking in the back office. I waited 10 minutes, when no one came out I had to say "hello" loudly several times before a young lady finally came out. Once we got our room I noticed the bottom of my feet get extremely dirty while walking barefoot, then I noticed the floors had not been mopped in the kitchenette area and bathroom..I took some toilet paper and wiped the floor in front of the toilet and it was filthy. The stovetop and inside of the oven were filthy and obviously hadn't been cleaned. A used bar of soap was left in the shower and the shower handle wasn't clean. In one of the bathrooms the toilet paper holder next to the toilet was disgusting; it was filthy, had hair stuck to it and what looked like splatter...upon checking out I complained to the receptionist and asked to speak to the manager but she instead had a person from housekeeping come out... I showed her pictures of what I saw in the room and she tried to tell me it was rust on the toilet paper holder, but rust doesn't wipe off... I hoped that I would have been offered restitution of some kind but wasn't. Its sad... I loved the room but my experience with housekeeping was terrible... The Inn has everything we needed for our stay and the staff were extremely helpful. Aniaya at the front desk was knowledgeable and friendly. She had the answers to all of our questions. A couple items in our room (toaster and telephone) were not working. Joe tracked them down and took care of us right away. Everything was clean in the room and the swimming pool was sparkling. We are giving the Inn a 4 instead of a 5 rating because we were there for a week and did not have any cleaning service. We did not realize it when we booked the room. All that said, we recommend the Patriot's Inn and we would definitely go back for another visit. read more

Smaller timeshare, we found the 2 bedrooms to be clean and comfortable. It is mid September so the place is nice and quiet. Rooms have everything you need but we found kitchen to be a little small. We would definitely stay here again when we come back this way. It is centrally located and just 1.5 miles from Colonial Williamsburg and next door to a lot of shopping and restaurants. First, we were not allowed in the lobby without a mask to check in even though VA has no mandate at this time. The attendant had quite an attitude and couldn't explain this requirement other than to say that kids under 12 have not had vaccines (we were alone). Employees and guests outside of the office did not wear masks (we were ok with that). The front desk shuts down at 9 pm sharp and no one is available to help after that. There was no maid service, which we did not know until arrival. We saw a maid in the hall but they refused to give us clean towels (we were told we had to call the office). Our trash was overflowing by the end of the stay and we needed supplies (shampoo, soap). Parking lot had garbage laying around too. The room was large but odd: 1 hook in the bath for hanging clothes, cabinets and shelves for storage which most don't need on a short vacation, poorly place a/c units blow on you while sleeping. Kitchen supplies were good. Pool was nice with jets at the deep end. Hot tub was nice too. Very few carts were available to move luggage. Close to restaurants and attractions. This time share is a gem! Best stay I've had at a "hotel" or timeshare in years! Modern room--the outside fotos don't look very nice but the room is nicely updated. We wanted a separate bedroom because we have kids! I called to ask if there is an actual door between the rooms and there was (my toddler makes noises at night). I am a light sleeper and never can sleep in a hotel, but I never heard anything. . very quiet. Just bring a BLINDFOLD and you'll be able to sleep (sun comes through the roman shades). The Bed was comfortable and the pillows were fine. Front desk was very friendly and let us check out late (I thought checkout was 11, it was 10:00). What a great stay. The room was so nice. My grandson loved the electric fireplace and we had it on quite a bit. Everything you would have needed to cook a meal was there. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable. They let us drop off a cooler which they keep for us on our check in day as we had driven down from Washington DC and didn't want to leave it in the truck while we spent the day at Water Country. I only have 2 complaints. One is the sleeper sofa mattress. Needs to be replaced. Very hard to sleep on as you could feel every spring. Second, the ice machine was on the 2nd floor and it is in the laundry room, which is locked at 9:30 PM and not opened back up until 8 AM. If you needed ice after 9 or before 8, too bad. Yes, there was an ice cube tray in our refrigerator but we didn't check in until after 7 PM so it didn't freeze in time. Maybe it needs to be moved or have a card reader put on so guests can get in to get ice. read more
