I have written several reviews in the past about v this little gem; good ones Now, all of a sudden the last two deliveries have turned out absolutelyn unacceptable. I spend close to $50 per order and it turns out it isn't edible. There's no TASTE IN ANYTHING. Example: I ordered chicken chow mein w/fried rice, chicken low mein, and wonton soup. They all tasted like NOTHING. No flavor, no seasoning. It's so tasteless I cant force myself to finish n off the leftovers. I throw out more than I eat!! What a waste. I've always had quality meals from Great Wall. Even during the pandemic of 2020 they stayed open when other places just closed up shop.

We absolutely love The Great Wall. We get deliveries often and we live in a remote area. Not easy to deliver to. It's always hot and perfect! We love the samples they send along with your meal. After being totally ignored at another Asian restaurant in Gloucester, I decided to give this restaurant a try because of it's proximity to my hotel. The night before I spent over $35 for a mediocre meal at the other nice atmosphered restaurant, but after tonight's experience at the other place I decided to get carry out and go back to my hotel since I wasn't having much luck. Stripmall Chinese restaurants can be a little sketchy, that having been said I have to tell you this was not a good experience it was an amazing experience. Admittedly the Kung Poa chicken was some of the best I've ever had. Sauce flavorful, vegetables very fresh, chicken well-prepared and delicious eggrolls. After my bad experience earlier, this was a welcome change at a third of the price. Granted it didn't have the atmosphere and location and live music that the other place had but the food was amazing and very affordable. I will definitely be back here. read more

Inside and out, this looks like thousands of other Chinese takeouts located in suburban strip malls. Unfortunately, the food fails to live up to even the most modest expectations. First indication: lousy fried noodles. How can you mess up fried noodles? Then we moved onto pork fried rice that tasted like it had sat in a refrigerator for a week and then spent 10 minutes in a microwave. Would give it no stars if I could. Sesame chicken was terrible. It was to tough to eat and cold. Egg foo young was greasy and burnt. Pan fried dumplings where hard and cold. Shrimp egg rolls had no shrimp in them. We paid over $46 dollars for a meal we could not eat. We definitely will not be be getting food from there again. read more

I travel alot for work and have a wide variety of food and food quality. Well, Great Wall knocked it out the park!!! I ordered delivery---ordered their Happy Family and two spring rolls. VERY reasonable prices! The food arrives quickly, and it was HOT! The delivery driver was very cordial and friendly. The food was delicious and they did not skimp on the meat----even had real lobster---not the fake kind, but the real stuff. Thoroughly enjoyed my dinner...Thanks, Great Wall...you have restored my faith in takeout Chinese. I hope I work down here again, so I can try something else on the menu... read more

I've gone to Great Wall many times and have been happy with the food. Yesterday was a very bad experience. The fried rice was dry, the spring rolls were so peppery they were not edible, and the boneless spare ribs were so fatty and the sauce was awful. I ended up throwing out the entire dinner. In addition to all this the crunchy noodles wenot fully cooked. At this point I'm thinking I need to find a new favorite Chinese restaurant. read more

Some of the worst Chinese food I've had. The broccoli in garlic sauce tastes smoked for some reason. The Lo Mein was soggy and the sauce taste like it may have been spoiled. Generals Tso's chicken was nasty and looked very bright red almost orange. The fried rice seemed to be yellow rice mixed with some veggies...not really fried rice. Absolutely tremendous chicken wings. Perfectly crispy with an awesome curry flavor. Some of the best wings I've ever had! Also, my delivery driver returned about 30 minutes later because they had forgotten my drink.......but I never called.......he returned on his own! Great job! read more

Was very disappointed. The COVID-19 setup was excessive and didn't allow for a chance to ask any questions or request any additional sauce. The food was extremely bland and the General Tso's was chewy. We ended up not eating much of the food and threw it in the trash because it was not worth eating. Would not recommend. For the price, Great Wall serves up very good quality Chinese food! Would definitely recommend, probably the best Chinese takeout in Gloucester. I usually order and would recommend schezwan chicken with wonton soup; however, most of their dishes are all pretty superb and top quality. read more

Very good food for a reasonable price. We had cashew chicken (lots of whole nuts), and perfectly cooked Buddhist's Delight (fried tofu and veg in a brown sauce), both with rice. We cleaned our plates. This is a basic no-frills take-out-mostly restaurant, although we ate in. Beverages are sodas or a large bottled water in a refrigerated cabinet. I went with a cup of water instead (would have liked unsweetened or slightly sweet iced tea, like Diet Snapple). The location is a strip mall on Rte 17, right next door to the Hampton Inn, which is next door to Comfort Inn, so we strolled over (and visited the shops too: Big Lots, Ollies, Dollar Tree). read more

For the first time EVER I threw away left overs from a chinese dinner. This was revolting! All sauces, the sweet and sour sauce, the sauce with the sesame chicken, etc., were the consistency of water. The flavors of all the dishes were blah. And the wonton were just weird.
