However the second time I ordered the fried rice which was delicious. The first visit I got the beef and broccoli which is ample and flavorful. It did have a tinge of some spice I wasn't crazy about. But it was subtle and did not detract from the rest of the meal. On my second visit I ordered the chicken and cashew nuts which again was plentiful and very tasty. It has a pretty unique selection of dishes not commonly offered in most Chinese takeout places. I consider their offerings more authentic. The serving sizes are huge and can be eaten family style with friends and family! There is a distinct aftertaste that is similar across the dishes we ordered. I'm assuming it's from the oil or base they use in their dishes. But it's not enough to deter me from trying their other food items! Will definitely be coming back! :)

Peter Chang (Williamsburg)…read more GOOD: mixed meat Mei fun was excellent. Service was good and friendly. Prices are reasonable (but*) BAD: The pork fried dumplings needed a longer fry. They only appeared to touch the frying pan for barely a minute. They had a steamed, flimsy texture, and I was going for that nice crust, which separates a pan-fried dumpling from a steamed dumpling. My server was very good but the kitchen was very slow tonight, it took almost another twenty-five minutes to get the entree out after the appetizer, and the restaurant was only moderately busy at best. The table next to me also had to wait for every course. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Even the dumplings that were under fried had good flavor. *Please be aware, which came as a shock to me, that the restaurants on that particular street are subject to a 12%to 13% percent sales tax, which was really off putting. I would still go back to Peter Chang's but probably another location because of the tax and the slow kitchen.

I have only ever had consistent excellence in Chinese at one place in PA. Oh well, here I am ona very hot Friday and I just couldn't work up the energy to think of cooking something let alone actually turning the stove on. I thought why not give this place another go? One day I will learn. Once again this is a review of delivery, I did not eat in. The food arrived barely warm, so I know that it was cooked right away, just not picked up promptly. Also, the order was wrong, they gave me a regular egg roll instead.if the spring roll. The General Tsonchicken was these MASSIVE chunks of chicken in a not spicy sauce. Sigh Maybe one day I can find decent Chinese for that craving. This isn't it.

General Tso's chicken is always on point, and the roast duck egg foo young has become a favorite. I can't complain about the service--it's always the same lady taking orders and cooks busy in the back. Personal peeve when restaurants serve eating-in customers like takeout people. This happened here…read moreat Hong Kong yesterday. They have 6 tables and we asked if we could eat at one of them. They said that was fine. We ordered at the counter, paid and sat at a table for service. It arrived about ten minutes later in takeout containers and two disposable plates with thin plastic utensils. Our order of Mongolian Beef, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, General's Chicken and Hot & Sour Soup were all in a takeout bag for us to remove, open, distribute and consume. It turned out we got General's Shrimp, but we let that go. While the food itself was decent (aside from the error with the General's dish being wrong), being treated like walkways rather than in house customers was unpleasant and somewhat disrespectful. If they really don't want to cater to people eating there, just remove the tables and chairs and be what you are. Pretending to accept people wanting to eat while the food is at its best off the wok, only to lack any of the needed supplies like flatware and proper serving dishes to accommodate it, is just a very bad look. Which is also to say, the store had zero ambiance, and management operated under false pretenses. Just can't get past two Stars, regardless of the reasonable decency of the grub. If takeout is what you came for, the review could be higher.
