this is one of my take out left over bowls I threw together for lunch. I was able to make 5 of these bowls & two bowls of soup

The only troubles with Peking Restaurant is that it's too delicious and too close to my house I cannot say enough good things about this place. Definitely my favorite Chinese food, but also one of my favorite local eateries in general. The menu is huge (this particular time I ordered Chicken Mei Fun, Bourbon Chicken, Cheese Wontons, Steamed vegetables, white rice and wonton soup) The portions are big (I'm going out of town on Saturday, cleaned out my fridge and trying to live off take out this week-so far I've managed to make 4 meals out of my order and am pretty sure I can get 3 more meals out of whats left) The prices are so good! (This order plus delivery only cost me $30...about $4 per meal for 7 meals) They deliver! You can order online! They are friendly! The food is always hot and delicious! Stop reading and go order some right now!....

The chicken fried rice is great, there wasn't anything like peas or bean sprouts but the chopped onions and chopped green onions had a great taste. It is very solid overall!

    Shrimp Fried Rice

The food was cheap and good! And these are two qualities I always look for in a restaurant as a poor college student. We had the shrimp fried rice which was very tasty, the chicken lo mien (the noodles were amazing) and the fried dumplings. Personally, I didn't favor the dumplings too much because it was very overwhelming. If you're looking for a cheap and kinda greasy Chinese place this is the place for you!

Great atmosphere. Friendly staff and great food. The place is very clean and well maintained. We started with the Heart and Palm Salad. Perfect portion tossed with homemade honey balsamic dressing, really good!! I had the Chicken Gumbo, meaty and tasty with a perfect amount of spice to light up the tastebuds. The Shrimp PoBoy bruschetta was very flavorful. My lobster dip was nice and creamy and work well on the sliced crostini bread. We all had the Blackened salmon with rice & beans. The salmon was perfectly cooked and very flavorful with just enough blackened seasoning to enhance the flavor. Food presentation was perfect, everything was plated nicely They have a great selection of bourbon. We chose ours after just three selections but they had many more. The owner came by our table and introduced herself, something you rarely see nowadays The cost was reasonable, and we have added this to our list of top restaurant selections in Newport, Kentucky. Thank our server, Sam for the great service and menu advice. Five stars.

We had the filet mignon and 3 cheese Mac and cheese. The filet mignon had a very nice crust on the outside and cooked perfectly inside. We like it more on the rare side! The Mac and cheese was excellent. Had the key lime pie and crème brûlée for dessert. The service was excellent. The setting inside has been changed and some of the cool parts of York street still remains. Overall a very fine establishment in Newport ! They recently opened for lunch so we will have to try that out.

The wicker chairs in the section to the left of the bar as you face the bar were unusually deep and low. Over time I think we all adjusted, but sitting in them definitely felt unusual. There are other chairs throughout the restaurant. I recommend finding a table with different chairs. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very efficient. We hadn't checked on the website, but found out Thursday is oyster day, with $1 oysters and fried oysters and $1.50 for Oyster Bienville. The fried oysters were delicious. The raw oysters were good, though I had one that was gritty. We are going again in two weeks and will try the Oyster Bienville along with other assorted oysters. Two of us had the special Pan Seared Sea Bass. It came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The crisp on the top was delicious and the fish itself was delicate and moist. It did indeed melt in my mouth. The potatoes were very good, though I didn't finish all of them. The greens were good. Mark had a ribeye and is still raving about it today. He ordered the preparation version made with just salt and pepper. He also had a cup of gumbo. He said it had an amazing depth of flavor. We wrapped up with dessert. Three folks had Key Lime Pie. I opted for Karma's Opera Crème Cake. Oh my goodness, it was huge, sweet and delicious. I tried a bit of key lime and it just didn't compare. That said, those who had the Key Lime Pie loved it. Not only would we return, but we have the date already scheduled. I'm looking forward to trying something different.

Not to mention the fact that you HAVE TO HAVE A RESERVATION, was mind boggling for the place. Like the server was very nice and all, that is a plus. Though sadly the food, we had the gumbo and etu fay, it was honestly pretty sad. Like it's up there with the top 5 most sad restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food was pretty bland, and lacked any form of spice. Not to mention it was hard to tell what was actually in it, like a lot of the ingredients tasted over cooked. So yeah it's going to be a no for me.

The food is outstanding across the board--from the steaks to the cheese sticks--but the real star is their bread pudding. It's absolutely worth the trip from anywhere in the tri-state area. Parking is also easy and convenient, with a garage right across the street, as well as their own lot and additional street parking. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great meal and an even better experience.

They have a charming patio at the back of the interior space as well. I didn't realize they have their own lot, but in case it's full, there is plenty of street parking nearby. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and kept drink refills flowing. We ordered the pretzel and beer cheese and the poutine for starters. The pretzel was huge and tasty. I didn't care for the beer cheese, probably because I was expecting a more solid cheese product. I would describe this more as a cream sauce. It didn't seem to have much cheese in it and was very 'liquidy'. Also the ramekin was only half full. If it had tasted better, I would have asked for more, but as it was not, we didn't even finish what was given. I thought it was a bit pricey at $12.95 for one large pretzel. On the other hand, the poutine was fantastic! A very unique take on the dish with a mix of cheese curds (although they reminded me more of pieces of mozzarella sticks), french fries and Andouille cream gravy. I ordered the fish tacos which consisted of Blackened Salmon, Thai Chili Sauce, Black Bean Corn Salsa, Pico de Gallo. My order came with two and they were fantastic! Since Blinkers is known for steaks, I will have to give them another try at dinner time.

OK, Saturday night, Valentine's Day 2026, the place was packed, as you would expect. Thankfully we had a reservation for our four-top, my wife and me and my brother-in-law and his wife. We were seated quickly and soon our server was at our table attending to us as though we were his main reason for being there. How refreshing to be treated in such a way. We had our drink order ready and he put those in for us. My wife would enjoy a nice "Rosé" and I ordered a Smoked Old Fashion. Our server's name is Reid G. In the midst of his rush he was polite and friendly and I loved it. We were soon ready to order, too, so after drinks arrived and Reid came back to our table he took our orders. The presentation of our drinks was very nice, so I have to be specific about it. My wife's bottle of wine was presented to the ladies, and though they declined a taste the young lady wiped the neck of the bottle preventing any drips in between each pour, then returned the bottle to the wine chiller. My drink was presented in a rocks glass, of course, but was capped with a small brandy snifter to keep smoke trapped inside. I could smell the smoke immediately when the drink was served. It was rich and sweet, a smell sensation to complement the look of the drink itself. My wife ordered the Pan Asian Butterfish with side salad, Reid assured her that this is a dish that she would certainly enjoy, often his go-to. I opted for the Imperial Cod with side salad as well. I always like to complement the establishments who serve their salads on cold plates as was the case here at Bonefish. A pet peeve of mine being a salad on a warm plate, ya know. All four of us enjoyed our dinners and each others' company. During another round of drinks we ordered the Chocolate Cream Brûlée. We were not overwhelmed with the dessert and perhaps I should some take responsibility for that, not noticing that it was chocolate on the menu, but also that it failed to have the custard consistency but rather like a pudding. The size of the dessert was sufficient for two people to share, as we did, and we did finish it, of course, but would not order it again. We spent about 2 and 1/2 hours there and Reid took good care of us. We had a very good evening and we tipped Reid appropriately. Bonefish is a very nice establishment for special occasions. I am sure that we will be back in the future.
