Excellent kid's menu! $5 for make your own tacos and kids love it. Ate outside and watched the Covington scene. Had fabulous service. Half price margarita's at happy hour. Chips and guac were delicious. Cauliflower taco is my favorite. Overall great experience!

Met a friend at Frida 602 for casual week day drinks & dinner and this is a 10/10 spot to do that at! Extremely quick service... I mean seriously we ordered and it came out in less than 10 minutes! Delicious margaritas...food....everything! I ordered the bowl and it was super fresh and yummy. Frida 602 has the best vibes, service, and spicy margs! Can't wait to come back.

Wasn't impressed with this restaurant. The vibe and decor of the restaurant was fun, fresh, and cute. Service was super speedy. But, the food wasn't great which is why it got a 2 out of 5. Unfortunately, the overall theme of the food was bland and dry. I would rather go to my local Mexican restaurant. The only thing that I would order again was the refried beans and guacamole. But for the price you are paying, I would expect better food. Disappointing.

Reasonable prices and good service. The guacamole was phenomenal! Margaritas were delicious and were presented in adorable cactus glasses. I got the Oaxacan chicken sandwich which was a 10/10.

Beans (I had to mix the rice because there was no flavor in the rice) and the lemon wedge, onions and radish $$

Would Not Recommend. Would Not Revisit. Ambiance - outside on a nice day, bright pink chairs, nice. Service - nice people, prompt enough. Food - throw this entire menu away. Not a single hint of authenticity. This is what people do after seeing someone eat something and saying I can do it better, but without tasting the original recipe, trying other recipes or knowing what it should taste like at all. Ordered the Pastor tacos, made it a plate with beans and rice and "A" lemon wedge for extra. The rice and beans were the best part of the meal and I'd throw it out as well. The pastor itself, nothing but shredded pork with pineapple chunks tossed on after. No flavor, no spice, horrible on its face. The audacity to call this "elevated Mexican" is an offense to both of those concepts. No one and nothing at this establishment was "authentic", iykwim.

Here's the deal. I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants that have a similar vibe to Frida 602 - and I've enjoyed my time there, but Friday 602 offers delicious food that can be hit or miss with Mexican restaurants that are aiming for a more eclectic and novel feel. The margaritas are FRESH - no mix!! That alone is worth 5 stars for me. The spicy was perfectly spicy - not so much that I felt like my mouth was on fire. The queso was the star for me - that cheese crust on top is unmatched. The addition of corn and bell peppers made it not your average queso. I ordered two tacos, and both were great! I believe it was Shrimp and carnitas - wishing I would have jotted it down :) Our waiter was really friendly and attentive! I'll definitely be back.

Long story short: good drinks & dessert, bland food. On Covington's Main Street & surrounded by bars & other restaurants, we were excited to try Frida 602 for the first time. It is a small but colorful restaurant with kind staff. They were unfortunately out of a few items we wanted to try, but the waitress recommended other options & was very helpful. We started with the queso, which they're supposedly famous for. It looked as expected- albeit a little greasy- , but we were happily surprised to see corn mixed into the cheese. It also came with a literal bucket of chips. It was good, although a bit bland, & the chips were crisp but unsalted. The chalupitas were similar: good but under-seasoned. We enjoyed the enchiladas the most, but their flavor relied heavily on the side of salsa they came with. In short, everything was good but could have used more flavor- the addition of lime or more salsa definitely would help. The drinks were tasty & we especially enjoyed the sweet & refreshing kiwi mojito. Last but certainly not least, the tres leches cake! It was by far the best thing we ordered. Although on the sweeter side, it was delicate & creamy & truly delightful. If we come back, it will be for this cake!

Note: I visited this place in January and just forgot to post a review. Maybe that conveys my experience. Honestly I wasn't impressed. It was my first time after many failed attempts to get a table here. I was beyond thrilled that we did. Came in here with a friend on a weekend for dinner and it was modestly packed (not empty, not crazy). We were promptly tended and given a seat upstairs. Now, for Kahlo fans and/or art nerds, this place is golden. The vibe is edgy and the art inspired by Kahlo adorn every iota of this place. Neat. We ordered tacos each (Brussels sprouts and cauliflower one) and some plantain crisps appetizer to share. Everything came in pretty quickly and the taste was mediocre at best. The plantain crisps were decent. Though, with the dip, it lacked heat. The tacos- umm, not great. The flavors were sub par. The Brussels sprouts one was kinda greasy and they should have chopped the Brussel sprouts more. The cauliflower one was meh. It had great potential but they all fell flat. The service was good. The people that work here seemed really kind. Price point? Not worth it.

    Great drink!

Stopped with friends to have a margarita. Decided we needed to try the chips and salsa. Then we had to try the empananas. Everything was delicious. The margs were great. Our group tried the spicey, smokey and regular. The bar staff was very efficient and friendly. We shared a pic from 2017 when we visited.

Despite having such a large group, drinks were out fast and there was plenty of seating. 2 things stick out here: Decor and the Drinks. Both were impeccably done. The nature meets wood and brick aesthetic is so purposefully laid out and when the eye cruises across the landscape it's so satisfying!! We had a LOT of drinks, but the jade river, el toro rojo, and pacific muse were our favorites. The drinks are priced pretty well ($12-$14) and the service was very prompt, always cleaning up empty glasses and clearing space for more people to sit. I for SURE recommend this place as a spot to come and throw a couple rounds back. We stayed for hours and drank and talked our hearts out! Thank you for such a wonderful night. 5 stars.

My absolute favorite thing I've had here (and one of the best drinks I've ever had period) is their S'mores Espresso Martini! It's literally perfection; aesthetically it's fun but still well composed as any espresso martini should be; it's has the right balance of sweet & coffee, & all of the flavors really make it taste like you're drinking an espresso flavored s'more! But the actual experience felt bare and poorly-executed. Cheap. The rooms are very minimalist in design, are not soundproofed (can hear other rooms singing, not to mention the main club room), and the karaoke tech is TERRIBLE: The music defaults to weird keys, is randomly out-of-sync with on-screen lyrics, and the song library is so minimal (do not go to the Japan-themed karaoke bar and expect to karaoke any Japanese songs or anime titles). Add to that the removal of past elements like drinks being lowered through the ceiling and robot deliveries, plus a mandatory gratuity added to your room reservation fee (not just your drinks, which itself is sensible), and I can't help but feel Tokyo Kitty has gone out of their way to cheapen an experience (not the cost) that will eventually run out of one-time customers. Improvements I think could help: Karaoke client overhaul - install a system that works and has a broader selection of music. Probably get better microphones too. Automated drink order system - This is a rare business that actually NEEDS QR code mobile phone menu/ordering. Guests order drinks on their phones, and employees can deliver them as needed. Or, install the novelty drink-delivery system! Flipping a card in a window and waiting for someone to enter and try to juggle drink orders while customers are wailing into a mic is inefficient. Sound proof rooms - or sound dampening. If the hole in the ceiling is pointless to have anymore, get rid of it! Spruce up the place - a few graphic arts of some celebrities hung on the walls feels cheap and lazy (The mural of Eartha Kitt stays. It's so good and adds some real, actual character and warmth, but it's the ONLY thing.) Otherwise, add literally ANYTHING that says "You're in a place called 'Tokyo Kitty'!"
