Norteña Torta, my favorite. Get it with cheese!
Josh J.

Visited this La Torta Loca location last weekend - just as excellent as the Florence location! Food was fantastic (my wife could not stop raving about the Sister Torta!), the staff was super friendly, and the location seems to be a bit bigger than the Florence one. Overall, either location you go to, either Crescent Springs or Florence, is going to knock your socks off.

I'm not sure it is even possible to have a bad meal here at this point. The quality and friendliness is always consistently TOP notch. So happy they have two locations and one of them is close to home. Such a fun atmosphere, so it would be a great place to have a little birthday celebration.

Amazing food! This is my third time eating here and try something different each time. It's one of my favorite places to eat and meet up with friends. Went on Mother's Day with my family and they enjoyed the Torta's and all the sauces. My husband's favorite sauce was the red. The service is always great with friendly staff. Surprised me with a cheesecake to go

6 stars! What a find in a suburban strip mall. I will be back every chance I get. Consistently tender beef wins the day! We started with the cachapas (entree) with beef. The savory (beef and cheese) plus sweet (plantain and corn) harmony is note-perfect. We then moved to the nortena torta (no cheese), which was a remarkable torta because the bread was quite airy and light, not crispy as usual. We finished up with the paneling arepa, again with a delightful plantain taste to it. Colorful restaurant, good service, food that makes you want to dance salsa. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing!! The guacamole with the pork skin absolutely a must try! I was blown away!! I have ate at Hispanic restaurants all over the country from coast to coast and this place ranks with the best anywhere. Service was fast and waitress was extremely friendly. The birra ramen was outstanding as well. Atmosphere is very warm and fun. Wish I could give more stars than 5 cause they deserve it.

Amazing place with really cool artwork all around the restaurant. The food was amazing 100% recommend getting the torta loca, it was delicious. The portion sizes were massive you will definitely have some to take home. Amazing service as well if back near Covington will come again.

I love this place I have been to their other restaurant in Florence which has been a favorite of mine. It has the same fun vibe delicious drinks and the food tacos arepas yummy sandwiches quesadillas and so much more. Their servers and bartenders always make you feel like you are friends. Welcome to the neighborhood

The appetizers: sweet plantains on top, the mini cachapas on the right, and the tequenos on the lower left.

I got takeout at this restaurant and OMG, I can't say enough about the quality of the food! Made-from scratch, authentic, fresh ingredients, oozing with cheese, savory and delicious! I started with the 3-item sampler appetizer: 1) the sweet plantains were perfect -- very sweet, ripe and soft, with a sweetened cheese on top. 2) The mini cachapas were slightly sweetened small house-made cornmeal disks with melted cheese over that made for a delicious bite. 3) But it was the tequenos that really surprised me. Yes, they were cheese sticks, but very fresh, with a great cornmeal crust that didn't taste like any "cheese" sticks I had ever gotten before. For the meal I got the fish taco --fresh, well-breaded fish, the birria taco -- absolutely stuffed with meat, with a small cup of soup to dip it into, and the El Recreo Arepa. I love the Arepas here. The cornmeal "bun" is house-made and the filling is ample and flavorful. The only sour note was the I got mine with "ham," and that turned out to just be a lunchmeat-thin slice that didn't really add much to the flavor. The restaurant itself was clean and bright, with a casual eatery feel to it. And the staff were pleasant and helpful. There was a small glitch to the service, as I didn't get the dessert I ordered. I don't know if he forgot to bring one of the bags, or if I accidentally took one bag short, so I can't fault them for that one. I just wish I had gotten a chance to taste it, as everything else in this restaurant was amazing!

Food was amazing, we ordered the Asada street tacos, which for me I'm very picky with how the meat tastes and I was very pleased with. I also ordered a LOCO TORTA and that thing was massive and delicious. Server was very sweet and funny. The building inside set the mood for sure, it was a decent my sized space and yet still foot traffic in a good way, very clean bathroom and floors. Coming here every time we are in the area

If you haven't tried this place you are missing out. Not your typical Mexican restaurant. The Puerto Rican flare sets the food and decor apart. The service was very good and the food came out quickly. The luchador/industrial vibe was awesome! Good food, fun environment and good service.

Cold beer 2 for $5, and I liked the shredded beef and cheese arepa. Also enjoyed margarita on ice and queso with chorizo and chips.

Can't wait to go here again. Empanadas were great. Wish we lived closer, but we'll make this a regular stop when we go to the airport.

The ricotta and spinach empanada changed my life!!! Loved the chicken empanada and the arepa I had too. Couldn't eat these all in one day of course because the food is insanely filling. I loved the steak in the arepa. I love the creamy cilantro sauce they include with everything. I love everything about this place. So happy I finally tried it!

The pulled pork filling was juicy and barbecue-flavored which I enjoyed. I always love anything plantain, but do wish there was a little more! I think that some flavors are just more filled than others. We were surprised that the empanadas were deep fried! I've only ever had the smaller kind of empanadas with thicker, bread-like outsides but these were thin and crispy. The man working told us it is because they use cornmeal instead of wheat, so they're gluten-free. I loved the light crispiness! They came with some kind of garlic aioli on the side--delicious! Each empanada is also stamped with a number that correlates to filling label on your receipt and I love that extra helpful detail. There is some seating both inside and outside.

!!! NEW FAVORITE RESTAURANT ALERT!!!…read more Wow. This is legitimately the closest I have been to tearing up at a meal. My husband discovered this place when he was perusing on Google Maps looking for something else. This was the happiest accident and I could not be happier we visited. I am from Venezuela and this is place is legit. They have foods that other Venezuelan places in the area don't offer, and varieties that are authentic and far better (the empanadas!!). I got the mandocas (plantain and corn horseshoe-shaped fritters), cheese and potato pastelito (like a cross between a pizza pocket and a pierogi, but better in every way), arepa pabellon, and a beef empanada. Everything was sublime. These empanadas are different than ones you may be used to, since they are corn based instead of wheat based, making them many levels better than you can imagine. It was very nostalgic experience. Even without the nostalgia, the food is that good, and so worthwhile heading over here. There's so much more on the menu I wanted to try. Guess I'll have to come back! The staff was wonderful, and the atmosphere inside was joyful, with beautiful murals. Highly, highly, highly recommend!
