My sister and I ordered four different empanadas: chicken, pulled pork, pabellon (shredded beef, black beans, white cheese, plantain), and cheese plantain. The pulled pork filling was juicy and barbecue-flavored which I enjoyed. I always love anything plantain, but do wish there was a little more! I think that some flavors are just more filled than others. We were surprised that the empanadas were deep fried! I've only ever had the smaller kind of empanadas with thicker, bread-like outsides but these were thin and crispy. The man working told us it is because they use cornmeal instead of wheat, so they're gluten-free. I loved the light crispiness! They came with some kind of garlic aioli on the side--delicious! Each empanada is also stamped with a number that correlates to filling label on your receipt and I love that extra helpful detail. There is some seating both inside and outside. read more

What in the world is this place?! I cannot believe how amazing it was! I had it bookmarked for like a year and I regret not trying it sooner! The ricotta and spinach empanada changed my life!!! Loved the chicken empanada and the arepa I had too. Couldn't eat these all in one day of course because the food is insanely filling. I loved the steak in the arepa. Strip mall spot. (I love these) Small seating area, but well served. Order at the counter & they bring it to you. Looks like these folks do a lot of festivals. (I'll assume there's a truck aspect here) The Empenadas are very big. I'm a big guy & I could only finish one. Cute little joint in a strip mall area, with a few tables inside and picnic benches outside. Hubby got the chicken salad arepa which was fantastic, while I got three empanadas (cheese, goetta, and chicken). Hearing the story of CCS Empanads Venezuelan owner added so much to my dinner visit! The shop boasts flavors from more than 1 country. Tables are available outside the shop as well as a few inside. The jamon (ham) and cheese fried empanadas was good, but I've discovered I much prefer baked empanadas over fried. My second empanada boasted lentils. The restaurant is small with maybe 4 tables, mostly meant for takeaway but we did enjoy dinner on site there. They have a couple picnic benches outside the venue too. Normally I have to go all the way downtown to be able to get a delicious empanada but look no further than here for all of your empanada needs! The food is spectacular - the empanadas are so flavorful and definitely hearty. They are much bigger than a lot of the empanadas that I have ordered before so don't let the price deter you - it is an extremely generous portion and you will likely only need one or two per person. I tried the shredded and ground beef and they were both phenomenal. The people working there could not have been kinder and it is a cafe style where you walk up and place your order. After the closing of Empanadas Aqui I've been searching for a new place. CCS Empanadas has just entered my list for places to eat! I got a shredded chicken and a shredded beef empanadas. I ordered them to go. They traveled very well! The empanadas both come with garlic sauce. So yummy! I really enjoyed both empanadas. The cashier who took our order was very quick and kind! The building is small so you can't always plan on eating in as there are only two tables. But perfect opportunity to have a little outdoor picnic! The restaurant offers several products to purchase like candies, drinks and snacks. The cost is great. $4.99 per empanada. Everything seems to be made fresh to order. We inquired about the Agua Fresca's and they gave us generous samples of each flavor. My husband got the sugar cane and I got the BlackBerry. Both are very good. We ordered 3 empanadas. One cheese, one chicken, and one ground beef with plantains. My husband loved the chicken and I my favorite was the ground beef with plantains. The empanadas are a generous size and cost about $5 apiece. The empanadas appear to be made to order. They were very fresh, even after the drive home to eat them. Very tasty. Wow. The empanadas here are amazing and big. My wife and I usually get three and split them. We are vegetarians, but they have a lentil one, a black bean one, a cheese with plantain one, and a ricotta spinach one, so there are always plenty of options. Our boys rave about the meat ones, too. What a great hidden jewel! Made from scratch empanadas and arepas that are so delicious. They even have a nod to Cincinnati with a goetta empanada (haven't tried it yet, but what can be bad in that?!). Hearty, wholesome and crazy good. Service was super friendly.
