In my opinion this is the best Mexican in Shelbyville! Also when I talk to a family next to me they totally agreed with that opinion. The other thing I like is they have a salsa bar so you can pick your own salsas for your chips. They typically have five different sauces on the bar including regular salsa for chips, an extra hot salsa, tomatillo salsa, a mild salsa, and a verde. The interior is plain but everything is clean. I will continue to make stops here for lunch when I drive through Shelbyville.

Review Title: Christmas Lights, Killer Food, and Patricia Running the Place Like Santa on Espresso…read more Walked into this spot and got hit with three things immediately: great food, good music, and Christmas lights that scream, "Relax... we're not judging your waistband tonight." Now, respect where it's due: the guys in the back are putting out food that tastes like somebody's abuela got a Michelin star and then told Michelin to calm down. Everything came out hot, honest, and dangerously easy to keep ordering. But let's be clear: the real main event was Patricia. Patricia wasn't just serving tables--Patricia was conducting a symphony of hunger. She moved like she had 13 tables, 13 timers, and 13 guardian angels all clocked in for her shift. Sweet, welcoming, upbeat, and smiling like she just found out the IRS is issuing refunds in tacos. I watched her juggle what felt like a small football stadium of hungry people, and somehow you still felt like you were her only table. If you've ever wanted service that makes you think, "Wow, I should be nicer to everyone," Patricia will do that to you. Bottom line: Great food, casual vibe, cozy Christmas glow, and Patricia delivering hospitality like it's an Olympic sport. I'd come back for the food--but I'll tell my friends I came back for Patricia.

First of all their menu is legit - for example... Cabeza and tongue taco! Yum! Asada taco - was actually really good and flavorful compared to what I've had at other places here in Cincinnati. Pastor taco - this was really tasty, the marinade on the pastor really came through and the char of the pastor really was good when paired with the pineapple in the taco. Cabeza taco - Heck yes! I will come back here to order many cabeza tacos LOL, this was actually really good and sometimes it's really hard to get cabeza right and they do it right!

It has been posted up in front of the Marathon gas station on old 74 for a bit now. If you were driving by you might miss it, but the buzz surrounding it was so much so, that I just had to try them out. The first time I stopped by was around 3pm on my way home and several other people were also in line. The very kind owner instantly greeted me and explained what they had that day. He took my order and they got to work. The people already waiting raved about the place and were super friendly. Everyone, including the staff, chatted and it made the wait go by quick. I ordered the chicken tacos, and the carnitas tacos. The owner had recommended just 2, but I had been accustomed to quite small tacos at other places so I got 4. Boy was he right, they were so packed full of meat that I could barely finish two! The other two made a great second meal at a later time! The corn tortillas were delicious and very authentic. Each succulent and very flavorful meat was topped with onions, cilantro and your choice of green, red, or hot sauce or all of the above. For my first time the owner recommended I try each separately with the hot sauce on the side. Also included was fresh lime and a grilled poblano pepper. Everything was amazing and I can confidently say this is the best authentic tacos I have ever had, anywhere. I cant say I have a favorite sauce because they each have sensational flavor, including the hot sauce. One try and I was hooked. I started following them on Facebook to catch certain days where they had special tacos, such as steak (which cost a tiny bit more due to the quality of the steak meat). The steak was just as amazing. They also serve breakfast. The second time I visited I did not know the extra cost until I received my order. Since it is cash only, I did not have enough. A kind person in line, who also shared the addiction to this spot, gifted me the $2 I was short. I hope to pay this forward in the future at another visit to my magical friendly neighborhood taco dealer! This isnt just great food, its an experience full of great people... who are also observing covid safety despite being outside btw.

We didn't realize it already came with the green sauce on it and ordered a side of sauce. I also ordered the habanero sauce. It's spicy but not so spicy that it can't be handled and the habanero flavor comes through. It's also a light creamy sauce. Likely mayo added to calm the heat of the pepper. We each ordered 3 tacos and were stuffed! The tacos are filled with meat and very filling to eat. We likely could've just ordered two each. We'll be back to try out more of their menu soon.
