The service is solid and the restaurant is cute, very similar decor to other Mexican restaurants in the area, but what makes La Pinata stand out is the food. Lots of flavor and large portions. Food was delicious. Service was okay but it was taco Tuesday so they were pack. There was a little bit of communication issue between us and our waiter. We would order something and he'd run away to place the order even when we weren't done with our whole order. I don't like running a waiter at all but this trip was inevitable. I got regular (lettuce and cheese) ground beef tacos they were fantastic. I'm not sure what kind of seasoning they use with their ground beef but it's really yummy. I also got a chimichanga, ground beef as well. So delicious. We had queso with our chips and salsa. It was delicious but very runny. All three of us ended up with queso on us. When we go out we tend to get appetizers then a main course and are to full to get dessert. We saved some room this time for some fried ice cream and churros! Both very tasty. read more

La Piñata is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Fast and friendly with a good selection. My only complaint is the lack of dressings for salads. Otherwise, the selection is pretty standard with seafood, beef, chicken, and vegetarian choices. Proximity to Village Green / Fairfield Community Center and participation in Dora makes this a popular local hang out! read more

This is one of the best Mexicana restaurants around. The staff is friendly and quick. The food options are typical of most Mexican locations and there is plenty to choose from. I've never had a bad meal. Prices are fair and atmosphere is the typical painted tables, chairs with the Latino flair. Side note... Decided to stop in on a whim after church. With so many options for Mexican food anymore, it's hard to get excited, but La Piñata was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is bright and pleasant. The menu is fairly extensive. The wait staff was very good. When our order came, mine was completely wrong, but it was brought out by another waiter. When our waiter stopped by to check on us, he apologized and had the correct order placed and delivered post-haste. The portions were plentiful, and everything was tasty. You won't leave there hungry. All in all a great experience right in our backyard. Prices are middle of the road, however, lunch looks like a bargain. If you get a chance, check out their bar - it's one of the smallest I've seen in a restaurant if you don't include the outdoor patio; and being across the street from Village Green, I'll bet it's a great place to listen to the summer concert series and enjoy an adult beverage. read more

Ordered a double fajita to go, when I got home I realized they didn't included tortillas, I called the restaurant to let them know. Whoever picked up the phone unapologetically offered a voucher for free tortillas next time I come in. This place is a triple threat: poor service, mediocre food and high prices. The $25 double fajita consisted of 2 pounds of peppers and onions with a few pieces of chicken sprinkled on the top. This the best Mexican restaurant besides Mazunte in Cincinnati. The service is rock awesome, all of the servers are so fun and really enjoy what they do. I really can't say enough, everyone that works here is such a team. My husband and I are regulars and have never had a bad experience nor bad food. Kudos to the either staff from the kitchen who rocks out fast delicious food to the servers and bussers who take care of us out front. Really just a splendid experience. My family comes here about once every week or two. I usually get the chicken and rice soup, the pico de gallo that comes on the side is quite spicy so use with caution. The fajitas are great but large for one person, they also have a chicken 'salad' with squash and zucchini grilled with the same seasoning. They have a daily special that is always a great value, and a dinner for two for $20 on Mondays. It comes with two dinners from the numbered menu, an appetizer and churros. Even outside the specials the prices are good and plenty of food. The staff is always busy and attentive. Was a very busy Thursday night and after 10 mins of being very noisy decided to leave. Was stopped at the door by the manager or owner. He asked why we were leaving. Told him that we were in a hurry and it was too loud inside. He seated us on the patio. In 3 mins. we had drinks and our food in another 10. I would rate the food and drinks at a 10. My mom lives in Fairfield near Village Green. I work half days on Friday and so our weekly tradition is to get together for lunch. There aren't many choices near by outside of fast food. Symmes Tavern on the Green, Applebees, Perkins, Bob Evans. We refuse to eat Applebees' mediocre food, Perkins food is actually decent, but we've given up on this location. So we were quite thrilled when La Pinata opened up maybe a year ago. So what's so great about this typical Mexican joint? Well, pretty much everything. Prices are reasonable. Service is quick. Staff is always super friendly. Restaurant is bright and clean. And of course the food is really good. My mom orders only one thing from here - the chicken with rice soup. Chicken, rice, avocado in a chicken broth. Very flavorful and a very generous portion. I usually end up taking an order of the chicken with rice soup to go as my wife absolutely loves it as well. I always order the chicken chimichangas. Really good, nothing to blow your mind but always consistent and tasty. I finally strayed off the beaten path today and tried their (3) mexican tacos with rice, beans and guacamole salad ($10.50. The tacos were really good - especially the fish (I tried 3 different kind with my meal) The chicken was good and the steak/pork/pineapple was different but no my cup of tea. Have eaten at this restaurant in two locations over the past few years. It has really gone down hill. Had lunch there this week and all components were off. The chips were stale, the rice and beans were old and the "quesadilla" was a taco. Reminded me of where Mexican food was in Cincinnati 25 years ago - just not up to par. I was really disappointed when the location in Bridgewater closed because it was so close to where I work. I was glad to have found this location in Fairfield though! The food is good. It's cheap mexican food but it's delicious. I went in here with a group of about 10 and our service was fantastic. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The decor is vibrant and fun. I like that I can order just 1 soft taco if I want. But, they have lots of combo options as well. They have really good chips and guac. Can't say much for the salsa - I'm not even sure I tried it! The bright interior lends one to hope this local Mexican restaurant will be a cut above all the other similar options. They have a special that varies daily, and menu options are what you would expect from the Americanized offerings. I'll start with the good- a very cold, tall Negro Modelo draft for $2.99 ($1 off special) was nice. They also give free mints and Tootsie Rolls at the register. The chips that come with salsa tasted fresh and were nice & warm. The dining area was pretty clean. Our server was also very friendly. With all that being said, every other aspect was average or worse. The salsa was quite watery. I ordered a steak quesadilla. It came with shredded iceberg lettuce scattered haphazardly underneath the 4 quartered pieces of the quesadilla, which appeared to cause the greens to wilt by being stacked on top when piping hot. There was also a very small dollop of pico. I specified no sour cream. The steak was inedible- tons of gristle, pieces cut unevenly, chewy- not seasoned or flavorful. My date ordered enchiladas verdes. The green sauce was thin and lacking flavor. Not as bad as my plate though not memorable. Overall, there are too many other- better- choices around for me to come back. read more

This place is awesome. The decorations are gorgeous, the staff is excellent. We never wanted for anything. If our waiter didn't see our drinks were low someone else did and came over to offer us refills. The food was good too! I was informed that the one serving most the tables was actually the owner who also thanked us graciously as we left and hugged us both as my friend is a regular here.
