I had such a great meal here one night that I went back a second time before the weekend was over! Even walking in later on a Friday night, the place was still pretty busy. We were greeted warmly and led to a cozy table in the back. Our waitress was super friendly and bubbly, but also patient as we took a while to determine what we want. This is a place you unfortunately have to pay for your chips and salsa, but it is worth. The chips come fresh and the salsa is so good! We also tried the Rincon dip, which was warm, cheesy, gooey, and had great flavor. They have a really good queso. My friend got one of their burritos and I got the fajita quesadilla with chicken. With your entree you get to pick your sides, so we both got mexican salad and I got refried beans, while she got black beans. Everything was awesome! I should've expected to love that quesadilla as much as I did after enjoyed the queso in the Rincon dip, but I will still blown away. The chicken was well seasoned, the cheese was great and there was a good amount, and the veggies were fresh and really added to the quesadilla. My friend loved the burrito and couldn't finish it because it was so much food. We also both got margaritas, which are a little pricey, but we enjoyed them a lot! I have found my new favorite mexican place in the area. The service was great, the prices are comparable to other places around, and the food is much better! Wish I could give a 3.5. I had the taco lunch. The taco meat was greasy and flavorless. The Mexican rice was also flavorless. The beans were standard watered down Mexican restaurant refried beans. As many have commented, you have to pay for chips and salsa here. We decided since it was lunch we'd forgo the chips. My husband had the chicken torta rincon. It was a sandwich, which surprised us, but it was full of chicken, cheese, guacamole, and light amount of tomato salsa. Although very messy to eat, it was delicious! I wish I'd ordered it frankly. If I had, I'd be giving 4 stars. Service was pretty quick. The restaurant is standard for Mexican restaurant themed places but quaint and comfortable. It took forever to get our check. Coming from San Diego, California - I didn't have high expectations to be honest. But the food was good and it came out super quick. I ordered the steak fajita and it was tasty. My only advice is to provide more guacamole because it was literally just a tablespoon full. My husband ordered one of their enchiladas and he's a simple guy, so he enjoyed it and ate all of it. Best Mexican place around! We go here all the time weather it be for lunch or dinner! The fajitas always come out sizzling and the elote corn is one of my favorite sides! Easy enough place to find and conveniently located next to Jungle Jims Eastgate. The decor is what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant with textured walls and painted murals. It wasn't overly busy when we visited and were seated immediately. The staff seemed busy and tho it took a few minutes to get chips and salsa it was worth it. We had a margarita that was very well made, and ordered a chicken chimichanga and the burrito Colorado. We tried a couple of the different sides and the corn salad was pretty good (would have almost liked to try it warm) and the street corn was okay. The rice that came with the dishes was great and I almost wish I had ordered it instead of one of the corn sides. All in all, the meal was good, and super close to our house. Their peach margarita on the rocks is great, especially if you get their happy hour deal on Taco Tuesdays! I've tried a few different items in their menu, but the Cowboy Tacos are my favorite flavor wise, and you can get them with corn tortillas if you're gluten sensitive. They do charge you for chips and salsa which is why I took off one star. In my opinion, all great Mexican restaurants offer chips and salsa complimentary. This place is a long time favorite. It's been awhile since I've left a review so thought I'd give a shout out. Stopped in for lunch with my daughter on a beautiful spring day. Patio wasn't visibly "open" but when we asked the hostess said shouldn't be a problem but let me check with server since only one working at lunch time. He graciously said yes and first off, he tended to us like we were his only guests and there were several other tables inside. The food is always good but on this visit everything about it was outstanding. Everything was cooked perfect! My teenage daughter even finished her plate. This is my first time at Rincon, but I went with my mother, who usually loves the place. When we first arrived we waited at the hostess stand for an excessive amount of time while two of the workers were arguing a few feet away. Once we were finally sat, we were brought water and two salsa dishes (one had a chunk of food in it), but no salsa or chips. We did get our margaritas quickly and they were excellent-- best part of the experience. Once the waiter came to take our order we got chori queso. He brought that and chips. We asked why there wasn't tortillas (as it normally comes with at that location and many others) and he brought some. The chori queso itself had tons of meat (which I normally prefer) and barely any cheese. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and when it came it was wet and floppy on the bottom. I couldn't even pick it up with out it falling apart. It tasted like boiled chicken and some cheese. There was barely any vegetables or seasonings. We finally got salsa when we got our food. It came out sizzling hot, and stayed that way. It was very good and the portion was huge... so wear your stretchy pants. (I actually took some home). I also had a bowl...or a small bathtub...of chili. Again, it was really good. So, now the ding. Food is very good and restaurant and bathrooms are clean. It does get crowded on peak weekend nights so you will wait in line. Plan ahead... My only issue is the chip charge. Used to be 1 free basket and I think this could be a Mexican restaurant tradition but not anymore. I guess it's like everything else getting more expensive. We went during Covid with friends and the amount of sanitizer stations surprised me! They were dispersed in several locations throughout the restaurant. The Burrito de Carne Asada has always been my favorite, and I was always stuffed when I left. SECOND: My scrawny little lunch Burrito de Carne Asada was pathetic for $12. I left hungry. My wife and son ordered the dinner portion (ALMOST $5 MORE) was the same pathetic size as mine, and I had more beans, rice and a little bit of veggies. The taste was ok, the only saving positive, but NEVER again. The complaint at the restaurant was completely blown off by the waiter and the lady checking us out. My family and I went to Rincon tonight for dinner. We have been here several times and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Tonight I ordered chips and salsa for our table and was told we have to pay for the salsa! Wtf...? We all ordered chimis and when they arrived none of us has the pico de gallo stuff. You know, lettuce tomatoes and onions with sour cream. When I asked about that, I was informed that too is an "extra cost." I spoke to who I was told "the boss" and he told me that the pico is now considered a side item and salsa is $3.00 per little yellow bowl. I'm made it no secret that El Rancho Grande is my preferred Tex-Mex restaurant in the tri-state area. Sometimes I don't get a choice in where I eat, and that's how I end up in places like Rincon. Rincon is located in the strip the houses my personal amusement park, Jungle Jim's and my favorite nail salon. The interior feels like you went to every Hispanic person you've ever met and asked for a family heirloom and stuck it all up on the wall. Not exactly the coolest atheistic, but there's not enough to be deemed tacky. My last visit involved my dad, mom, sister, two cousins, two aunts, three uncles, and a great aunt all sitting at one table. They have a separate room that could have easily housed us all. Other smaller parties were sat in there after us, and we were stuck with a circular table adjacent to a round table in the middle of the main dining area. Luckily, there was no one on the makeshift stage set up next to our area, otherwise my ears would have been bleeding from the proximity. My sister and I ended up at the restaurant a little after the rest of our family so we were able to get a newer, fresh batch of salsa and guacamole. I couldn't tell if the salsa was homemade or store-bought, but nonetheless it was tasty and did the job. Our family ordered a hodgepodge of items, ranging from taco salads and shrimp tacos to enchiladas and fajitas. My sister and I have this thing where if there's a fajita for two option, we order it and share. A cool thing about Rincon is that they give you the option of corn tortillas. I absolutely adore corn tortillas! The food took an appropriate amount of time to come out given the amount of people we had. My sister and I were disappointed with the protein:veggie ratio. Maybe we're spoiled at El Rancho Grande, but the bang for your buck seems to be a lot better there. I forgot to ask for double rice and was stuck with refried beans - a sworn enemy on my list. The flavor of the entree itself was just fine. It really could have used a bit more seasoning, but if you add enough guac and sour cream to something you can eat just about anything. The side plates were disappointing too. My sister's had little to no guacamole and mine was sorely missing out on sour cream We ate our food because there wasn't necessarily anything wrong with - if you're hungry, it'll suffice. Through my meal, I had a hankering for my fajitas at El Rancho Grande. I actually wasn't even that hungry, so I left a good portion of our meal to my sister. I'm the type of person who will eat good food even when full because apparently I have no chill. The bill was especially confusing because our server hand wrote everything. I truly believed that he had rang me up for shrimp tacos and a Pacifico because it was so illegible. I eventually was able to sort it out and pay properly. At Rincon, you pay at the counter. You also awkwardly wait up at the counter thinking "damn, I probably could just leave and they'd never even notice!". It took that long! If you're in the Eastgate area, I would recommend El Rancho Grande as your first option. They're more organized, competitively priced, and they have better food. If someone offers up Rincon as an option, you should probably fight it. read more

I was in the Eastgate area and decided to stop here for dinner since I was working. I went in the establishment which is next to Jungle Jim's, and I was seated at the bar the bartender gave me a menu and I needed a little time to look at it. I ordered a Sprite and the taco burrito combo. I went with a beef taco and a chicken burrito which came with refried beans and rice. I also got the chips and salsa which were free. The chips were warm and good and the salsa was a little bit sweeter than I like it but it was still good and mild. The food came out very fast within the next two minutes of me getting my chips. The taco was nothing special it was a little bland tasting but it wasn't bad but the star was the burrito which was pretty good. My only real complaint was my bartender didn't check back with me very often. The prices weren't two outrageous the food was definitely decent. read more
