Traveling through town while at the Creation Museum my wife found Agaves with good reviews so we decided to stop. My wife had the Carnitas platter and loved it. It came with rice, beans and guacamole salad. I had the Seafood Burrito and it was the best Seafood Burrito I've had in 20 yesrs. It came with Pico de Gallo and rice. The burrito had scallops and grilled shrimp on the inside and topped with crab meat and white cheese sauce. Food came quickly and Service was great as well. read more

They're very understaffed when it comes to service. You may sit in there 45 minutes before you get your drinks then another 10 to 20 minutes waiting order your meal. All to find out that beer you were waiting on just cost you $10 for a 25 ounce draft beer.. there are certain days of the week however, that offer drink specials but regardless you are gonna expect to spend between $30 and $40 a person depending on if you order ONE alcoholic beverage or not. It's priced as though it's a high-end place, but it really is not.. used to be the best (only) Mexican restaurant in Hebron but now not so much. I will not return to agaves in Hebron. During Covid we have gotten takeout from here twice and it doesn't disappoint. This last order I got the veggie fajitas and I felt I was eating right there in the restaurant. We stopped in for lunch at around noon on a Thursday. It's located at the end of a small strip mall in an area of town with not much going on. It wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. Our server was very friendly; he took our orders quickly, helped with some items on the menu and was great at checking up on us. Kid had the two soft tacos; not the kids meal because the sides sounded like too much food at the time. A taco and a half were chowed, so that's a good sign. I had the Piña Loca. It's like, fajita fixings with pineapple.... INSIDE a pineapple! Could it be more perfect?! It comes with queso and extra cheese but, I'm trying to be dairy free so I asked for none of those. That leaves the peppers, onions, pineapple, steak, chicken AND shrimp (although, I gave the shrimp to my friend). It also comes with rice and beans and a guacamole salad. It was delicious!! It could've used more chopped pineapple in the mix but I'm not going to complain because not everyone is as pineapple-crazy as I. My biggest complaint was that I could only eat what was on top because as I dug through it, I found that it was swimming in copious amounts of queso inside the pineapple. Such a bummer! It was so tasty and I'd have loved to been able to eat more of it, had it been prepared as I'd asked. Prices are about on par with what you'd expect at a place like this. A work colleague and I stopped in to Agaves for dinner one evening on a weeknight. We were seated promptly and a basket of chips with a small carafe of salsa was served up while we looked over the menus. I ordered a pair of custom burritos - just ground beef inside of them - and topped with a queso cheese sauce. I also ordered a side of guacamole and side of Chorizo Queso to go with the chips. The Guacamole and Chorizo Queso came out first. The Guacamole had a weird texture to it - like it had something like sour cream mixed in with it. And it was bland. No flavor. The Chorizo Queso was tasty - but skimped on the Chorizo - it needed to be meatier. I asked if they had a "House" hot sauce - they did, they brought me out a small bowl of it. It was damn tasty and had really good heat. If you are not a pepper fiend like I am - you should skip the House made hot sauce! I added some of this hot sauce to my Guacamole - so it had some semblance of flavor - then stirred some of the hot sauce into the Chorizo Queso - which I drizzled over my Burritos - then added some more of the hot sauce over the top of the drizzled Chorizo Queso. The Burritos - with the spiced up Chorizo Queso were yummy! My work colleague enjoyed his meal as well. The dining area needs an update to their TV technology. They had a number of screens displaying sports - baseball games mostly. One was a projector, a couple of others were flat panel HD TVs - BUT showing standard definition content (so it looked like ass) and one older analog style CRT-based TV. All the older TVs need to go - and all the content needs to be HD quality! I'd definitely eat here again - but would skip ordering the Guacamole next time! #Agaves read more

The food was great and reasonable but the service was absolutely the worst. I stood for 40 minutes waiting on a table that was half cleaned and then the poor girl was trying to cash people out and u can tell she was overwhelmed. I have been there a half dozen times, issues with service. With that being said service is not great at any of our local Mexican restaurants. The food though is outstanding! Their dishes that incorporate chorizo are some of the best Mexican food I have had anywhere. I have lived in eight states, and traveled our entire country and visited Mexico several times. I must say that the service was good. The food was pretty bland. I ordered the chicken fajitas and while they looked the part, there was no seasoning. The sides plate was pretty small to go with it. It wasn't gross, but I wouldn't crave it. Also, its a very loud restaurant. It was busy but not packed and the sound really carried. Our orders are always correct and the food is almost always on point. 4 stars because a few times there were more veggies than meat in our burritos and because it's pretty Americanized. I travel all over US and wanted Mexican by the airport. Saw the ratings of 3.5 stars and was skeptical. Now after lunch there I realize it's too low. Loved the pork burrito with rice and beans. Came with Pico on the side. The buritto was all pork and tortilla. Delicious. The rice and beans too - a cut above most other Mexican restaurants I've been to. Festive atmosphere - dining area seems a bit old but maybe appropriate. Prompt service with salsa and chips and Tapatio hot sauce - my favorite! Love this place. Staff is friendly, the food is good and won't break the bank. Only knock I have is the service can be a little spotty if you sit at the bar like I do.
