Tried this place on the recommendation of a friend, even "cheating on" my usual go to for Mexican. What a mistake and disappointment. I ordered the same thing I get from Acapulco to compare apples to apples. There is no comparison. The cheese dip tastes like it has Velveeta in it. The "hot" sauce on my burrito tasted and looked like tomato sauce from the can. On a positive note, the carnitas were tender, but lack in flavor compared to the usual. I ordered the sangria margarita; since I didn't know their sizes, I asked and was told they come in 12 or 25 oz. I ordered the twelve, which actually would end up being more like the equivalent of 8, and that's being generous. With ice, it was more like 4. It was all way more expensive too! I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are for, but Im here to leave a good one! We stopped in here for dinner on Labor Day weekend. It's in a random strip mall place off the exit in Hebron, which is where I've found many a small restaurant jackpot. Quick to get a table, the place wasn't busy, and the service was fast and attentive. We ordered the quesadilla dinner and the fish tacos. For the price we received a pretty decent amount of food, and fiancée said the fish tacos were the best locally that he's ever had. The salsa was standard and the queso was also typical, but neither were bad. I can't ask for more than quick service, good food, and decent prices, and we definitely plan on returning. A friend recommended the place and saw "ok" reviews so was a bit skeptical... We were seated promptly. And waitress was attentive and efficient. The chips were fresh... Salsa was good, but like other reviews pointed out, could use more taste. I got the carnitas plate, had plenty of taste and was good... Came with rice, beans, and a good flavOred sauce.... Meal was good, nothing exceptional or unusual but Nothing to complain about... Will be back and try different dish next time.... If you read other reviews, ok so the small Margarita is too small... Order the larger one, it is good, my wife got the small one, I got large one, I was happy!! Lol For me only negative is that it was a bit noisy friday night... Too many kids... But can't hold that against them...freaking people needle to muzzle their kids. It is a casual atmosphere, not ideal for romantic date. read more

As far as Mexican restaurants go I've honestly had better but I've also had worse. Nothing really stands out as being great to me. If you're okay with average food and service and want to stick to the Hebron area this is really your only choice for Mexican food. read more

Yo we just got home from Agaves and it was dank. I had a phat azz Marg and the seafood it was lit.

We ordered carry out and the food was sloppily thrown together and tossed in the containers. The burrito was not even rolled but instead it was placed flat in container with incorrect toppings placed on the the top. We were also missing the tortillas for the fajita so we had to eat the fajita with a fork. Food was bland and cold. Phoned the store to speak with manager and she was not concerned in the least, stating that she would give us the tortillas if we wanted to drive back or a $2 credit toward next visit. Really tortillas or $2? The manager had no cares whatsoever that we were disappointed with our dinner and the inconvenience. Also our total bill was $24 and some change but when we paid with cash of $40 the cashier handed 5 dollars in singles and some change back. She was shorting us 10 dollars. Luckily, we caught it at the time but she seemed to know what she was doing. I'm sorry, but this was our first and last visit to this place. read more

Generous proportions, good service, and reasonably priced. The food is authentic Mexican, good but not exceptional. I would prefer more spice, more crispiness to vegetables, and sharper cheeses. Given that this is a family restaurant, though, I think their emphasis is serving a dish that is affordable and suitable for all tastes. One of my kids will not eat food that is too spicy, and he always has a great time here. read more

I ordered chicken fajitas. They claim to have the best in town. Well they came out hot as fajitas always do. They tasted great. Lives up to their claim.... but I noticed they were staying hot a long time. You see they serve the meat in a skillet atop an aluminum foil wrapped wooden plate. The foil helps the wood to keep from burning and holds the heat in the skillet. As a result the chicken keeps cooking. What started out a nicely grilled chicken soon became rubber. A shame because the flavor was excellent. Also their salsa is too mild but then this is Kentucky. read more

The food is excellent - cooked to perfection with deep, developed favors. It appears to be a small, tucked away location in Hebron next to Remkes. Although, once inside, you experience an open yet cozy atmosphere. All around, this place will now be one of my weekly must eats. read more

Fast service, good food. Typical mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa are solid, and the margaritas are good, though they are a little small for the price. Several small televisions around, but just basic cable. Not all that big. Exactly what you would expect. read more

Starting with the sustains: The size of the main dishes are pretty big. I ordered the burrito loco and had to take half home. My wife ordered the carne asada burrito and destroyed it. The meat was tender and finished with line for a great taste. Improves: The beans and rice were plentiful, but lacking taste. They were both made there at the restaurant, but could really use some additional flavoring. Overall pretty good. We'll be back to try it again. read more

Do not eat at the Mexican Restaurant AGAVE's. Only one choice of salad dressing (Ranch). Menu said choice of dressing. Food was okay, but not the traditional flavors and spices you would expect. Sauces taste out of a can and hot sauce on table was not traditional as well. Better on eggs than Mexican. If your looking for American/Mexican it is okay. Try elsewhere for authentic Mexican. read more

Very slow service usually takes an hour to get your food. The food is not tasty. This place is always empty due to these two reasons.
