We ordered the food through DoorDash so, no notes on the ambiance. We got a 10'' Philly cheesesteak and a bowl of spicy broccoli cheese soup. It was plenty for my husband and me to share. The soup is what drew me in. I love broccoli cheese soup. This soup is...unique. It's either going to be my favorite soup in the world or I'll never have it again. I haven't decided yet. The spice tastes like pickled jalapeños you'd get with stadium nachos. I'll revisit it since there was a ton of it. The sandwich was amazing. Great crispy bread that wasn't tough. visited New England Grinder a few days ago for lunch with a coworker, and as much as I truly wanted to love this place, I just couldn't. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and unfortunately it tasted awful. The chicken salad itself wasn't good, with very large chunks of onion that completely overpowered the flavor. The shop also only offers one type of bread--white--which made the sandwich feel even more plain. Overall, the presentation looked sloppy and the taste was very disappointing. I always like to support local sandwich shops and spread a little love when I can, but this experience just didn't work for me. Sadly, I don't see myself coming back. read more

I stopped in here with my BFF for a late lunch around 1ish. I have been wanting to come here for years but they use to only be open during the day not evening but today worked out. We were greeted as we stepped up to the counter. We looked the menu over and decided to get the chicken Parmesan. Ordered chips and a drink then took a seat. They were not crazy busy so we didn't have to take a number. We ate our chips and drank some drink as we chatted while waiting. About 8-10 minutes our sub came out hot and freaking amazing tasting. I seriously can't wait to come back and try other options. The place was clean and smelled of cleaning supplies at the tables. At the counter everything smelled of amazing food items. This sub was only second to a chicken parm I had at an Italian deli closer to Dayton, but I don't alway want to drive 30 minutes one way for a sub. This was worth the drive as it is only 10ish minutes from my house. If you haven't been here, I highly recommend taking the time during the week and coming here. The only way I can describe the sandwich I had at this place was orgasmic. The potato salad was the best potato salad I've ever had. Had a very delicious bacon flavor, topped with shredded cheese. The sandwich I had was the fat bastard. This is a loaded Italian with sausage added, mayo, and Italian dressing. The bread is baked to perfection and smashed for your grinder experience. The place was filling up as I sat down to eat. Very popular and rightly so. I've had sandwiches all over the country and all over the world and the fat bastard was definitely a top 10 sandwich. Parking is somewhat limited and the restaurant can be tricky to get to but well worth the effort. I will definitely be back for other sandwiches. read more

Saw the great reviews, so I was eager to grab a sub for lunch with my gf. I ordered online and the older gentleman was patient and helpful with my order. We went to pick it up, location is a little off putting, but once you get in there, we were greeted by a nice cashier. Toasted and hot subs were ready, grabbed some chips, went back to the house. I was really excited to dig in, the deals online look like you really get a lot on your sub for $10. I went the club but they were out of roast beef. So I decided I'll do no ham then, and just do all turkey. I thought I'd get the turkey subbed for the other meat but it looks like I just got what was originally going to be on there. Not very much. The toast was nice and the flavor with the lettuce and the mayo, great, just not enough of all the fillings and meat. The soup was not my thing. Also got a cheese bread, could have been toasted a lot more. Overall not sure if I'll be back. But the good reviews are tempting. read more

I drove past this place numerous times and it always intrigued me. It's in a random strip mall surrounded by factories and warehouses. Dark. Not easily identifiable. Easily passed up. My favorite kind of place to investigate. At this point I've been here a few times. Familiar faces. Staff is welcoming, incredibly friendly. A homey kind of feeling. The menu is entertaining to read. It's also one of those menus where everything sounds good and a decision is nearly impossible. *Trust their recommendations* So far I've had the balboa, the Philly, and the chicken teriyaki. Everything here is so good. It's what penn station wishes it could be. Your sandwich will have perfectly toasted bread. Your ingredients won't be soggy and falling out. Flavors will be explosive and choreographed. I do not know where they could improve besides expanding the menu because clearly they are capable of crafting more delicious concoctions than what you see listed. I day dream of my return and what I want to try next. I also don't recommend places and I've done so 2 more times than any place I've ever reviewed (second place coming in at zero recommendations). This place is solid. Anything you are craving will be satiated and then some. As far as the tristate goes, NEG is king. What a gem! Got two 6 inch sandwiches (zone chicken cordon Bleu and one Chicken teriyaki). We both got drinks and also two orders of the pasta salad (one would have been plenty for both of us!). Space wise its a little smaller then one would hope however if your into some great music and listen to happy voices you've gotta stick around. Taking an order to go is just as good the sandwiches are double wrapped in butcher paper. My suggestion is the broccoli cheese soup with the balboa or adventurous get the fat bastard. But you dont have a bad choice on this menu. They do have tuna, egg and chicken salad subs or cups. From their salads to soups theres truly not a bad vegan choice either.
