La Torta Loca has been somewhat eye-opening for me. I have had tortas in the past, and they were always just fine. I had seen this place around plenty of times but it never really registered on my radar until recently, when a friend had mentioned what a great meal they had had there, and I decided to try it. Damn I should have tried it wayyyyyy before now. This place is fantastic. The food is hands down EXCELLENT - the tortas, the empanadas, the fried quesadillas, the tacos, the chilaquiles. Everything we had have ordered there is just awesome. One standout for me is the chorizo; not sure how they are making it there, but it is the best chorizo I have had in my life! The decor of the place is unassuming but authentic and cool. The food comes out quickly and the staff has always been helpful and laid back. On the whole, definitely work these guys into your restaurant rotation. They are now a solid part of mine! read more

Top 25 business on Yelp in 2023 for a reason! Went with some friends and was able to sample a few fan favorite menu items and the recommendation of our lovely server. He referred to us as family and that is exactly how I felt. Very attentive like being home for the holidays with your family. The Torta was packed to the brim with flavor and meat. I also ordered a Birria Taco and it was structured just the way I like it and the consume easy the best balance of tart and savory. Now if you take one thing from this review take this GET THE EMPANADA! Any filling does not matter this dough is literally the best empanada dough I have ever had. I got the seafood empanada and am still dreaming of this! Also, if you are looking for a fun place to post your food pics on the grams this place is Instagram ready from floral walls to murals. We have eaten at Torta Loca regularly since before they moved to this location. I love the fun wrestling theme. The Venezuelan/Mexican street food is awesome. The Tortas (sandwiches) are football sized. They have the best guac! My favorite is the pumpkin flower empanada. Their mixed drinks are strong unlike most restaurants who water them down. Really cool for sure! Service is also good and it's a family restaurant and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I shared some chips and guac with Pico with my friend and she and I thoroughly enjoyed them. It all tasted very fresh. She had the birria tacos which were amazing and very flavorful. I had the torta Loca which was so good! With the meat and the bacon and the cheese and the sauces that you can put on it...was just so amazing. Definitely worth it. We are very very glad we came. It's definitely a place that you have to check out for yourself to see how good everything is. The menu had plenty of stuff on it from Mexican to Venezuelan. New location alert! This place is so deserving of this new space that allows them to expand business. la Torta Loca is one of our favorite places to get Authentic Mexican. This time around I got the Birria Quesadilla and it was absolutely delicious, the consume was so flavorful. The elote was amazing as well just full of flavor, a perfect appetizer or side. Didn't get one this time, but if it is your first time I highly recommend getting a Torta, you can't go wrong with any option. Wow! This little quaint Mexican restaurant is the real deal folks. Just opened from moving from Florence,KY where they started. Place is really nice and clean! Everyone greeted me with a smile and a hi. Great start. Ordered chips and salsa. Chips are made fresh as well as the salsa. Really good and authentic. Ordered the Arepas with shredded beef. So I search various places for reviews and I am a huge Mexican food lover. I like authentic, tex-mex etc. I am not snobby, if I like it, I like it. I convinced my cousin to venture over the pond to try this place. What an absolute surprise. I like the vibe and look of the space. It's a little funky, reminds me of hip hop for whatever reason. The menu is not typical. We saw these tortas (sandwiches) and it was over. We bought two different ones and shared. They were fantastic! Full of flavor and huge portions. The homemade sauces are incredible, could drink the garlic aioli. We have already been back two times. I also love the taste and texture of their chips. I only missed having salsa, they have pico but no salsa. Earlier you arrive the better. We went later in the evening and had a bit of a wait but we didn't mind, we shopped at the liquor store next door to kill time. read more

I stopped in here with the family for dinner on a Tuesday. It was quite busy for a Tuesday, we had to wait a couple of minutes for a table. We ordered the guacamole and chips for an appetizer. The guacamole was a good portion and some of the best I've had. I ordered 2 veggie tacos with no cheese or sour cream and a side of beans. I was afraid there wouldn't be many beans on the tacos, but they were actually a good portion and filling. My boys each ordered 2 tacos and split an order of fries and hubby had a torta. We all enjoyed our meal. The only downside is that it was over $60 with tip for a family of 4 to eat dinner, so we unfortunately won't be frequenting here for dinner. The service was good also. 4.5 stars. We really loved the fact that this restaurant is unique. The food was very good. The decor and artwork is really cool. The service is great and staff very friendly and kind. The main "flaw" we saw was that it was loud, which made conversation a little difficult (but good for the restaurant for having lots of business!!). Also, my partner told the server he can't eat cilantro, and the server inaccurately said only one dish has cilantro in it...the elote my partner ordered was covered in it. We've been wanting to try this place for a while now. It was great! We got (hot,fresh) chips with their house pico de fallo which was so fresh and delicious. We each got a Torta tradicional and they were truly fantastic. They were piping hot and delicious-- the bread was perfect and we were definitely more than satisfied. My husband had a margarita on the rocks and it was one of the best margs I've ever had. The wait for our meal was a little longer than I'd have liked when it wasn't at full capacity but the staff were super friendly and it was worth the wait. Very good! Atmosphere is very loud and there is very little seating in the evening, so be prepared to wait an hour. Food temperature and taste were fantastic, but our group found all of our food to be very spicy and their menu doesn't include burritos or chimichangas, which a few of us were hoping to get. I have never eaten inside at this restaurant but we often get takeout from this or their previous location. Honestly this is some of the best Mexican type food I've ever had... I can't speak to the authenticity but I can tell you it's absolutely delicious. I always get the bacon and cheese and empanada and I'm never disappointed. I want to try more things on the menu but what I get is so yummy that I haven't deviated yet... The street tacos were perfect (can't go wrong with any of them, but if you haven't tried it, get the Birria, it's like a French dip crossed the border). Empanadas, tortas, arepas, and more. Only been once so can't honestly recommend much, but it's one of those places where as you watch the plates come out of the kitchen, you say - "should've got that!" My new favorite place in town.
