    Small potstickers
    Michael S.

I ordered through doordash due to the ongoing pandemic. The only reason this did not get 5 stars was due to the lack of white rice with the chicken; it is not specified that rice is not included on the app and is generally included unless otherwise stated. The potstickers are thicc and remind me of ones I have had in Hangzhou (not vegetarian). Although General Tsao is an American dish, the composition of the chicken is more traditional and not like chicken nuggets from a fast food joint. The sauce covering the chicken is also not too sweet, but I will request it to be spicier next time I order. Portions are big and I will probably get a regular chicken with rice next time or a large potstickers for lunch. Overall this place appears authentic with good food

    Chicken wing for entree

The food is always good and fresh. I usually order appetizers. Got an entree for the first time and sorely disappointed, the chicken is not nearly the size of the appetizer, nor is it as fresh. Makes me wonder if they use pigeons for entrees. Will give 5stars if and when I go back to appetizers.

Sorry started eating before taking the picture almost forgot. Shrimp fried rice Bean sprout and onions, Pork spare ribs and 2 egg rolls.

Wow I'm very impressed with the food quality and the presentation of the Take out plating. The food quality was fresh and very tasty. I'm not sure if they're under new management but when I bought food before years ago it was nothing compared to now. Now the food is way much better And they are very friendly.

Salt and pepper chicken strips or tenders idk what ever it is was good got it by accident and I dog it all

The best I've been eating here for years. Peter is nice guy unlike other Chinese food restaurants when you call and order there rude. the foods always A1.

$13 Plate -- Orange Chicken, Crab Ragoon and Fried Rice. The Orange chicken was a tad undercooked (tasted flour).

TLDR: Potentially…read moreone of my favorite Chinese restaurants in all of Massachusetts! Beautiful interior, centrally located, and delicious, high-quality food. Will definitely find a reason to come back here soon. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] STIR-FRIED CABBAGE W/ PORK BELLY (5/5) Presentation was phenomenal (in a clay pot with its own burner underneath to keep it hot). The portion was much larger than expected, and most importantly, it tasted incredible. Generous amounts of pork in this, and the sauce was authentic and addicting. 2. SCALLION CHICKEN (5/5) Another great choice. This was a huge portion with lots of tender chicken, and the scallion was present without being overpowering. 3. CRISPY BEEF WITH FRIED DOUGH STICKS (5/5) I was expecting Chinese you tiao but these were actually the small, ultra crispy manhua twists! Paired with the beef, this was a large and unique dish that I loved. The crispiness of the mahua made this a textural delight to eat. 4. MANGO SAGO DESSERT (5/5) Big portion, wonderful assortment of toppings including grapefruit, mango, sago, and popping balls over a creamy dessert soup base. 5. PEKING DUCK (4/5) I think I'm a tough critic since I just came back from Beijing and had so much Peking duck there. We ordered the half portion here and it had a generous amount of meat for not being the full portion. There were an assortment of accompaniments, including pineapple (new to me) and sugar (like the Beijing style) which were welcome additions. The wrappers were steamed well and didn't curl up on the edges. Overall this was a solid Peking duck, but the meat wasn't as standout as I was hoping. 6. STEAMED PORK SOUP DUMPLING (4/5) Solid soup dumplings. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely hit the spot. 7. SAUTEED PEA SPROUTS (4/5) Another solid classic. 8. PORK MEATBALL IN CRAB MEAT SAUCE (4/5) This was the most unique thing we ordered. I've never had a shi zi tou meatball with crab meat sauce before. The meatball itself was large (maybe size of a tennis ball), tender, and fatty, as it should be. It was then drowned in a generous lake of traditional crab meat sauce. If you're not a fan of crab meat then this might be a bit too fishy for you, but honestly it all combined surprisingly well and I grew to like this dish more and more with each bite. I wasn't the biggest fan to start, but by the end I wouldn't have minded getting another one! ------ AMBIANCE / ENVIRONMENT: * The interior has the classic Asian style of decor, but you can tell it was recently built / renovated because everything felt new and fresh. * The ambiance also felt more new-school luxurious vs. the typical Asian establishments that are more no-frills with as many tables packed in as possible * You're still somewhat close to the tables around you, but it's not overwhelming during lunch time and we still felt like we had enough space regardless * There's a bar area at the front of the restaurant and then a large, spacious dining room in the back * This is a great place for a date or a meaningful family gathering * Right outside is Boston Common, making this restaurant very well-located for lunch before or after a nice day in the park. While there's lots of parking around the park, a spot itself can be hard to come by, so your best bet might be to use the nearby parking garage instead ------ SERVICE: * Overall the service was great and quick. They did forget our tea, but when we asked for it later they apologized profusely and were quick to bring it out for us * This place fills up quickly so be sure to come early if you don't have a reservation or if you're a big enough group, make a reservation for your desired dining time

When I was planning this trip to Boston with my daughter, eating dim sum in a major city is a must!…read moreWe eat dim sum at every new city we hit up. Our mother/daughter tradition. So after looking up local Chinese joints to eat at, Dynasty popped up. They also offer street parking so that is what sold me on this joint. Considering Boston's Chinatown looks pretty run down, you should never judge a book by it's cover. Walking in, this joint is really bright and clean. The young man working the register greeted us and got my daughter and I a table. The big list of food items was dropped off and we were ready to get the party started! We ordered a handful of things! It's been a while since we have had dim sum so we were ready to put in work. Our food was starting to slowly trickle out. We started off with the congee. It came out pretty fast since it was probably made earlier waiting to be served. Shortly after the rest of our dumplings were making their way to our table. The congee was simple, savory and comforting. It tasted like my childhood. The fried shrimp rolls were tasty, crispy and savory. I have had similar fried shrimp dumplings like this served with a sauce similar to walnut shrimp. That sauce would have been killer with these rolls. The long rice noodles were silky and filled with char sui. The sauce was more vinegar than sweet which is how I have normally had it. Still good! Har gaw and shu mai were fabulous once they dropped off soy and chili oil to dip them in. The turnip cake will always be one of my favorites. My daughter enjoyed the soup dumplings and the rice in lotus leaf. I was too full to try them. Customer service was ok. They got you what you needed but not a lot of exchange in conversation. I feel like most dim sum experiences are like that. The food was so good! I enjoyed every bit of it with my daughter. Parking might be free but very limited and challenging to find. I'm still happy we got to check this joint out and have a great meal here!

I'll spare you most of the gory details of this punishment, which was meant to deter future traitors with its brutality, apart from the section in which the offender's entrails are burned before his eyes. Having eaten practically nothing all day, and after being turned away from Sanbada for an early closure, my date and I decided to try Mountain House, which she described as "authentic." Several mistakes were made. Principally, because my date is from Hunan, her definition of authenticity is not the kind of "spicy" Szechuan food I've come to love at restaurants like Noah's Kitchen. Instead, it compares to a 1599 incident in which the Jivaro people of modern-day Ecuador executed a corrupt Spanish governor by pouring molten gold down his throat. Starved, I ordered the La-Zi Chicken and shoveled two spoonfuls of it into my mouth, failing to note in the haze of hunger that the despite its name, the dish is at least 80% dried red chili peppers that have evidently been coated with military-grade pepper spray and subjected to a Satanic ritual to add to their flavor. Survivors of gunshot injuries on the battlefield report that because of the flood of intense adrenaline and psychological focus inherent to combat, they often don't feel a bullet wound at all until after the firefight is over. Indeed, for a few blissful seconds, my body communicated nothing but "ahh, food, finally," before lapsing into psychosomatic reenactments of various medieval punishments throughout the ages. As the intense stomach pains, sweating, and tears set in, I looked up to see the waiter, my torturer, standing beside the table. "You look like you're going through it," he grinned, rotating, I am sure, the handles of a rack just out of view. "This isn't even the spiciest thing on the menu, you know." The agony was hardly sufficient to smother my mental image of his same grin glimmering before the red light of dancing flames amid hot coals being shoveled down my throat. Reader, I survived, but just barely. Luckily, the same date who betrayed me to this fate is also a doctor who set two full bottles of Pepto-Bismol next to the couch where she instructed me to lay on my left side in the fetal position. Currently, my toilet is on a leave of absence while it is being treated for PTSD on an in-patient basis; I try to send it sympathy cards, but I don't think it will ever forgive me. Mountain House is not so much a restaurant as it is an experience of these historical events: it demands, like the best high school social studies teachers, that we do not shy away from history's horrors, but face them directly, so that in our humanity we choose definitively not to repeat them. I left these trials with a new appreciation for the suffering that people throughout history have been willing to subject one another to for political or social reasons, and thus recommend it with five stars for anyone who wishes to better understand the depths of human depravity.

The dan dan noodles were good, but I would say the cold noodles were better. The golden buns were also great, a classic dish that is always loved with a great crisp. We did get the wrong sushi roll, unsure if they misheard us or if they thought we pointed to a different one but I'm glad they did because the Thunder Roll was delicious. I think it was the yellowtail that was on top that tied everything together, it was just really good. Overall a great place for dishes if you haven't tried it before you won't be disappointed.

Cucumber Salad (Cold) - 10/10 ($7.95) I grew up eating cucumber salad, and everyone has their own version. FU CHUN JU's included cilantro, which I actually really enjoyed. I do think it's a little overpriced for what it is, but it was absolutely delicious. I'd order it again without hesitation. Shrimp Fried Rice - 8/10 ($15.95) My only complaint was that the rice was slightly overcooked. That said, the flavor was excellent, and there were plenty of the small shrimp throughout you got shrimp in almost every bite. It was a good portion and made for a satisfying dish overall. Spring Rolls - 7/10 ($5.95) The menu photo made it look like you'd get five, but we only received three. They came out hot and crispy, and while they were tasty, they didn't really stand out compared to the rest of the meal. Traditional Pork Soup Dumplings - 9.5/10 ($12.95) You get six soup dumplings, and they were fantastic. I asked for chili oil on the side, which paired perfectly with them. The filling was warm, flavorful, and comforting. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Pan-Fried Pork Buns - 8/10 ($8.95) You get four buns with a perfectly crispy bottom and a pork filling encased in a fluffy dough. The only downsides were that our table had some sticky residue on it when we sat down, and there was water on one of the seats. Since everything is handled through your phone, getting assistance can be a little difficult. If you need something, you're either getting it yourself or trying to flag someone down, and the staff seemed very busy throughout our visit. That said, they were still attentive. At one point, our food was almost forgotten, but they caught it right away as we were about to leave and brought it out to us, which I really appreciated. One thing I noticed was how quickly the food came out. It did make me wonder how much is prepped ahead of time, but everything tasted good, so I assume they have an efficient prep process. I am hoping it's as fresh as it seems. Overall, I'd definitely come back. The food was excellent, especially the dumplings, and the late hours make it an easy choice when you're craving good Chinese food later in the evening.

We walked into a space with an energetic atmosphere, an open kitchen, a lively dining room, and a contemporary design that makes the restaurant feel both casual and polished. The layout encourages ordering several dishes for the table, and the variety across the menu makes it easy to build a meal that feels different with each visit. The small plates are the biggest draw because they let you try a wide range of flavors without committing to a single entrée. The pork belly buns are one of the signature dishes, featuring tender pork inside soft steamed buns with a balance of sweet and savory flavors. The dan dan noodles are another standout with their rich, spicy sauce, while the Brussels sprouts have developed a strong following thanks to their crispy texture and bold seasoning. We also appreciated that many dishes are available as half portions, making it easier to sample more of the menu without ordering too much food. The menu offers a good balance between familiar favorites and more creative dishes, with each plate feeling thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. There are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, making it easy for groups with different dietary preferences to find something they enjoy. The service matched the pace of the restaurant during our visit. The staff were attentive, dishes came out steadily as they were ready, and the servers were helpful with recommendations for building a meal around multiple small plates. The restaurant stays busy throughout the evening, so making a reservation is a good idea, especially for dinner or larger groups. Myers+Chang is one of the better places in Boston for creative Asian-inspired small plates. For the most part, Yunnan delivered. We came in on a Sunday at 5 pm, and the restaurant was moderately busy. We were able to find seating and order relatively quickly. Based on one friend's suggestion and a bit of online help, we ordered the Boiled Fish Fillet in Chili Oil, the Mint Beef, the Potato Pancake, and the Stir-Fried Rice Cakes. Overall, the meal was pretty good. The stars of the dinner were the Stir-Fried Rice Cakes and the Mint Beef (which was realllyyyy minty and herbaceous), while the fish tasted pretty standard for a typical Chinese restaurant. The Potato Pancake added some nice texture, but it wasn't particularly memorable and I probably wouldn't order it again. Now you might ask... okay? Cozy restaurant, fast service, good food--why the 0.5 off? And sadly, it was the dessert. Call me picky, but this was the part I had the highest hopes for. After finishing our meal, we decided to get the Coconut Delight and the Devil Sweet Sticky Balls (their words, not mine). The Coconut Delight was... okay. The best part was the bread (three pieces per cup), which, when soaked in the coconut milk, was just heavenly. But beyond that, the dish resembled a rather sad, runny coconut sago. The Devil Sweet Sticky Balls weren't much better. We loved the texture of the rice balls (chewy!), but the brown sugar syrup tasted burnt and left a strange, bitter aftertaste. This may have been a one-off, so we'll have to return to verify (and when we do, I'll update this review). But to give Yunnan the benefit of the doubt, I'll round up to a full 5 stars for now. For main dishes, fast service, and a cozy ambiance, Yunnan hits all the right boxes (just not quite dessert!)

The gentleman at the door greeted us promptly, it was a busy evening with larger parties! 5 min…read morewait for a party of 2 though. Our host was very nice. Quickly seated and started to cruise through the menu. We settled on the following dishes: + stir fried rice cake, first time having a dish like this. Stir fried with pickled mustard greens, minced pork, egg and tomatoes. The rice cake was easy to eat but lacked any sort of flavor depth for us. I don't know how it's meant to come across, but felt like it was missing salt or something for a punch. + sweet and sour fish, i honestly was thinking it might have been with chili's or something thinking (Noah's kitchen) but that's my fault. It is sweet and sour so more like orange chicken but with fish fillet battered. I honestly liked this dish fish anyways, portion size was good. Fish was flakey had crispiness to it. +Shiny fried ribs I'd have to pass next time around I was thinking from some pictures I've seen that it may have had a honey or some type of chili honey glaze. Probably would have elevated it more for me. Don't get me wrong I'm not a Michelins recognized anything but just my humble opinion. Didn't work for me. Began looking around and I'm thinking the dish to get is the spicy fish fillet soup. Or the whole fish dish. Most other tables seem to have the big pot of spicy fish. Server was nice overall, when taking order and initial check in after food arrived. After that didn't see them again until we were done (needed a drink refill some ginger ale haha) Overall a miss for me but it does offer good location, street parking, casual atmosphere with good portions. Might have to give it another go with the soup based dish next time. The dishes all presented well, good portion size and will get you full.

A dinner with my Korean friends revealed my current favorite Chinese restaurant in Boston!…read more Soup Steamed Dumplings Pork 小籠包: The dumplings were large, incredibly juicy, and the meat filling was tender and smooth. The seasoning was only slightly sweet, perfectly complementing the freshness of the meat. These were the best Xiaolongbao I've had in the US, although the skin was a bit soggy and unappetizing. Pork & Leeks Dumpling: My friend ordered these, opting for pan-fried dumplings. They were piping hot, incredibly fragrant, and the meat filling was tender. The chive flavor was mild, which is perfect since I don't like chives lol. A touch of vinegar was definitely needed to cut through the richness! Sliced Fish Szechuan Style: Calling them "sliced fish" is a bit of a stretch; "fish fillets" would be more accurate. They were probably made with basa fish, and the fish was incredibly tender, almost melting in your mouth. The broth was fragrant, and the numbing and spicy flavor was authentic, earning high praise from my friend from Sichuan. Lamb with Ginger & Scallions Onion: A perfectly good Beijing dish, but it was prepared with the feel of a Cantonese stir-fry, which suited my Cantonese palate perfectly. The lamb was incredibly tender, with no gamey taste, and stir-fried until the oil was visible but the sauce wasn't thickened. The sweetness of the onions and carrots added to the complex flavor. Sweet and Sour Pork Tenderloin: Just average, like a typical Shanghai style home-cooked meal. Nothing special to say. General Gao's Tofu 左宗豆腐: My first time trying the famous "General Tso" (I don't know why they call it General Gao) series of American Chinese cuisine. It felt similar to the technique used in Shanghainese "Kung Pao宮保." A slightly sweet and sour flavor with the aroma and mild spiciness of dried chili peppers, the ingredients were deep-fried and coated in a thick sauce. The tofu was overcooked, the edges were hard, and the sauce became a bit watery towards the end. This dish was just okay.
