Honestly, better than Starbucks. I always order a small white mocha with whip and GAWWWWD, you can just taste the rich, roasted coffee beans. There's something about Peet's coffee that makes you feel so alive once you take a sip. It has the right blend of sweetness and a perfect blend of beans. Starbucks is OK but they always seem to fall more towards overly sweet. The customer service here is great. There's a guy who works here that likes to tell jokes. read more

I walked in here with my girlfriend this morning for the first time, with the intention of eating here. While browsing the menu, we were greeted by a rude employee who asked if we were ready. We responded not yet we are still looking and he said, and I quote, "We have a strict buy only policy so I have to ask you to leave if you are just looking." He claimed he was kidding after an awkward moment and seeing our confused faces. We obviously did not feel welcomed. The worst service I have experienced in my life! Incredible staff, and always delicious drinks. Closest public restroom is at a grocery store in the same parking lot which is a bit of a con -- but other than that this location is great. Nice little outside area to sit and enjoy a coffee, too. I love hearing the staff greeting people by their name that have been coming here for a long time. I frequent the N. Davis Peet's on those early mornings when I have to get to work by 7. There's usually no line so I don't feel rushed when I hand them my own mug (10 cents off for using your own mug!) and give them my order. Even at 6:30 am, the employees are friendly and enthusiastic, even to a customer like me who can barely speak before getting my caffeine fix. I also love that its connected to a Noah's bagel so I can get my bagel and coffee in one go. As a student, I used to come here a lot to study for midterms or finals. Now, I go here to just have casual chats with my friends. My only gripe would be that there isn't enough seating. read more

I love Peet's and there are times when I just don't. It's like a dysfunctional relationship really. I just keep going back. When it's good, it's wonderful and when it's bad, it's frustrating. As for the quality of the coffee--it's excellent although after about 1-2pm I think they may switch batches or something because it tastes more like Starbuck's. The space itself isn't the best layout for a Peet's. The seating areas toward the back are right under VERY glary lights, so I don't recommend going there with a date as you will not entirely look your best (if you haven't gotten enough sleep, been drinking too much, etc.) The seats by the counter are OK. The ones outside are probably the best especially on a sunny day. They do seem to have some trouble maintaining their stock of certain pastries. For the 5th time in a row, they've apologized for 'running out' of my favorite treat. :-(. Overall the best coffee, so-so ambiance and baked goods. read more

It is 8:04 on a Friday. You have to get to work. You arrive at this Pete's and bam, long line, 15+ people, you stand and realize there are only three people working. 10min later you get to register. You order. You keep it simple, just drip coffee. No mocha frape matcha nothing. Black drip coffee. Guess what? They are out and have to brew more. You have enough time to write this while you wait. Unacceptable for rush hour. Hire another person. read more

This is one my favorite coffee joints, but today they proved that their customer service is amazing. Had a mix up with my credit cards that left me embarrassingly unable to pay, and the cashier graciously comp'd by order. Coffee was fantastic. Same great coffee, but this one's in a Safeway strip mall, so parking is great, and it's easy to get in and out. It's the holidays, so love their holiday themed drinks including their sea salt caramel. The service is always great and they don't mind customizing for the perfect level of sweetness. read more

I love that Peet's has occasion online coupons for BOGO drinks. That's really the only thing that lures me in here. The coffee is good, but not so phenomenal that I crave it. The atmosphere here is nice, especially with the patio tables outside, I could see myself coming here to do homework or something. This location is attached to a Noah's Bagels, which is good if sweet pastries are not your thing. It does cause a lot of foot traffic though, so Peet's isn't the most peaceful place. I also saw flies on the pastries the last time I came here (they're out in the open & not in a glass case or anything), so I probably would avoid those from now on. Lines can get a little long, but they try to mitigate that by having separate lines for food and coffee. That being said, prices are good and the coffee is strong. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating. Excellent wifi service. A nice place to take a break from shopping. read more

I have a cup of coffees in this location twice a week, they have very good customer services but I noticed that the food is displayed on an open glass case where you can often find flys enjoying a sweet treat. I don't have to tell you that flys are great carriers of pathogenic microorganisms. They are many options out there to display food away from insect contact and Peet's Coffee should look to fix the problem. read more

Peet's coffee has always been one of my favorite coffee places to go to and I definitely prefer Peet's over Starbucks anyday. Their coffee is not overly sweet like Starbucks but just as good. I personally love the summer teas at Peet's. You can choose from Berry Pomegranate, Jasmine Lime, or Hibiscus Breeze, all of which are delicious. One of my FAVORITE blended drinks there is the Godiva Dark Chocolate Raspberry Frappe... Too good to be real, must try. read more

I love the tea and coffee at Peet's; it's waaaaay better than Starbucks. The tea here is more flavorful and they give you two teabags to ensure that you get a nice cup of hot, strong tea. The baristas are all really friendly and polite. Even though I didn't buy another drink and only got a refill on hot water for my tea, the barista gave me another password for the internet, which only lasts for two hours at Peets. The only thing that I don't like that much about this Peet's location is that the tables are on the small side so it's hard to fit both my computer and cup on the same work surface. There isn't a bathroom inside Peet's either; you either have to go around the back and have one of the workers open the door for you or go to Dos Coyotes, a few storefronts down. It also gets a little loud so be sure to bring your headphones if you want to get some work done! read more

I was excited to celebrate the end of finals with a friend of mine and so we planned to go to Noah's Bagels then Peet's (since they are right next to each other). So we grab our bagel and walk over to Peet's and before we order our drinks, we decide to have a couple of bites from our bagel as we stand in front of the menu (there was no line by the way). As we are standing there, a Peet's employee says "Are you guys waiting for something?" and we say, "oh no we're not" and he yells, "Okay well then you guys need to leave and get out!". First of all, it was very hurtful that he said that because we were both girls and he said "guys". Second, we had planned to get a drink from there and just had not ordered yet so he kicked us out in a rude manner without letting us explain nor defend ourselves. I have never experienced such disrespect from a coffee place and will never be stopping by at this Peet's ever again! read more

John, the barista is awesome! A little loud in here, but that's because it shares a room with Noah's bagels! It does get busy in the mornings but the quality is still good. Not really a place to have a lengthy conversation, read, or study because it's so loud. I would venture to a different Pete's for that, hence the 3 stars. read more

This is my "local cafe with a big name." I love coming here in the morning and grabbing my coffee, my latte, my cappuccino...whatever I'm feeling. During finals week this becomes my library, and the nice thing is the staff are more than accommodating to it, as are the normal patrons. They are always cheerful when I come in, and I'm always impressed with how they always seem to whip up an amazing piece of art at the espresso machine. The coffee they use is much higher quality than what you could get at Starbucks, and it's a great place to relax for a bit too. read more

I've gone here a couple times and each time I was disappointed. The caramel macchiato is usually great but they made it sooooooooo sweet and overwhelming taste of caramel. The pumpkin spice latte didn't even taste like pumpkin spice. My sisters green tea latte had no flavor either read more

I don't really get the negative reviews, probably because my experiences have been nothing but positive. I've only been here three or four times, and every time, they were fairly busy. We order our bagels next door, but since we like Peet's products, we usually get our coffee/tea at peet's. Every time I have been here, I have dealt with James who has never been anything less than attentive, helpful, and very nice. The first three times, I ordered a latte, which has always been prepared rather quickly, and perfectly brewed. This last time, I got jasmine tea in a tea pot, but due to how busy they were, they were out of tea pots, so I had to wait about five minutes, at which point they, very politely and nicely, let me know that they have one pot available, but are running short on leads, but I didn't mind. Again, I could see how busy they were, and they were trying to accomomdate me as speedily as possible. I did deduct one star, because I do think that they should be prepared for such rush, and have enough tea pots, but other than that, the experience was exactly what I would expect it to be. read more

Best iced lattes and mochas in DAVIS (as far as I know) Yeah the restroom situation is strange...but the bathrooms in that whole plaza should be avoided (except Dos seems pretty good). Peet's as a chain sets the standard. There are other smaller coffee outlets that meet or even rarely exceed Peet's as far as quality of prepared coffee drinks. However, Peet's is unrivaled in consistent quality and the strength of the brewed coffee served. I don't believe reviewing any coffee shop on any attribute other than the brewed coffee or espresso drinks is warranted. These other drinks aren't "coffee", they are soft drinks for children. I do think Peet's has done a very good job of branching into tea without degrading their focus and commitment to coffee. Starbucks is a distant competitor because of the "skunkiness" of the Starbuck's blends. read more

I love Peets coffee anyway, but this particular location has really friendly baristas! There's also the added bonus of having Noah's bagels ajoined to it! I just wish their wifi wasn't such a pain - I don't always want to use it, but I always forget to ask for the wifi code when I give them my order and have to go back in line again to ask the cashier for it. read more

This Peet's is always way too crowded, with long amorphoua lines that snake around whichever way the customers choose with an extreme lack of seating or places to sit and enjoy your beverage. I sometimes wonder if Peet's corporate designed it this way on purpose to make customers uncomfortable sonthe could get traffic up. The people who work there are always friendly (hence the second star), and the coffee is the same corporate swill Peet's serves everywhere, feeding my addiction like I was straight out of Drugstore Cowboy. But the only reason I don't come here more often is just how uncomfortable the layout and design of the place is. And no late hours. What's up with that in a college town? read more
