They have a great selection of Tea. Their coffee is definitely tastier than Starbucks. And a bit fresher. They roast regionally and so it does not have as far to travel. This Peets has kind of a hippy vibe due to being in Davis. Lots of Soy options. Very very friendly service. Some of the most helpful coffee house service I have ever received. I don't like that they share some space with the bagel shop. But, I am not there to spend quality time - I am there for the caffeine or herbal tea. I highly recommend if your in Davis. Also, its very near a Jamba and you could have some Fresh Wheat Grass juice as well. Lots of cool places nearby. read more

I can't believe that no one mentioned the restroom situation. It's a shared unisex in the mop closet that is shared with Noah's bagels. You have to walk out of the cafe out of the shopping center and around the back of the building to access this dingy space. Not acceptable when your chief offering is a diuretic. One star for fresher roasts than *$. One for selling (whole bean) coffee by the ounce. A plus when you realize this is a perishable product. minus one for over roasting everything. Amazing how many people associate "smoky" with "bold". Minus two for having no readily accessible restroom. Minus one for being corporate. Minus one for pbtc (people behind the counter) that could care less about pulling good espresso. I suggest you try Mishkas or Cloud Forrest they both roast their own. Of course that's no guarantee of a good cup but it's starting off on the right foot. read more

Peet's!!! WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A BATHROOM?! I could study here for hours and hours, but my bladder won't let me. Their lack of bathrooms won't let me. Sigh. The workers here are always very nice and accommodating, there are plenty of seats and tables to sit, study, and sip on coffee, and it's always super cold in here so bring a jacket even if its a thousand degrees outside. Their wifi is free now! No need for a 1-hour wifi code with purchase of drink. ....but you should buy a drink anyway. I love their hibiscus tea cooler! It's pretty flavorful so I like to get a medium and have them pour it into a larger cup and fill the rest with ice. read more

i am a hardcore Peets fan. Pretty much Peets has my heart. I cannot start my day without a nice cup of joe. From the feeble age of fourteen I started drinking Peets on a daily basis. some may think I am addicted, I just think it's love. When I had my wisdom teeth extracted and the dentist told me to stop for a week, I almost had a melt down. After counting down minutes I rushed to this exact Peets location and had the best cup of coffee of my life. Not only is it a good cup of coffee. But I'd say Peets coffee owns my left atrium and Peets tea owns my right. In the summer I love to sip a large glass of Lime Jasmine Cooler. Peets: Not having a restroom = a disservice to expecting mothers, not to mention all of your guests. On this note, I have lost a bit of respect for this location. It is also unacceptable and a bit tacky to refer your customers next door to Krush Burger's restroom, as one should not be made to feel that she needs to go buy a soda or hamburger at adjacent eating establishment, where employees seem to value a customer's business more and do a better job of acknowledging guests who walk through their doors. At most, this referral should be just a temporary solution for a business whose main role is to serve diuretics. On that note, I notice that the "Peet's Customer Service Team" said that customers' opinions/feedback on this issue was "valued" last May. "Has there been any action taken since then?" I wonder. The other frustration I recently encountered at this location centered on the employee "vibe." Perhaps on this rainy, dreary day, they were in a tired funk, but regardless, no one exuded friendliness. The young lady cashiering didn't bother to greet myself or 3-year old daughter who was with me, but instead stood at the register, silent, with downcast eyes and leaving me to believe she didn't really want to help me. At the same time, the barista making the drinks behind the counter lamented about something. I felt this was unwarranted, especially considering only myself and another guest were present in line at the time. Also, it certainly wasn't the first time I sensed a lack of enthusiasm from this location's employees. The bummer is that I love Peets coffee, as well as pastries, believing both superior in quality to Starbucks. But this last experience clenches my decision: I will no longer drive across town for that richer flavor or spend my hard-earned money on their coffee and decidedly more delicious gingerbread. Having been a former Starbucks barista, I know what the expectations should be, and what constitutes good service. And sorry, Peets, but you fall short of that. Next time you see me at a coffee shop, it will undoubtedly be at a Starbucks. I'm willing to sacrifice a little satiety, in order to use my gold card, and have access to a restroom, by in large friendlier people, and a little more spending money. read more

I love this Peet's!! Yes, it can get busy here and sometimes it can be difficult to find a spot to sit, but the quality of the drinks is always consistently good. The coffee drinks here have a much richer/bolder/stronger flavor than the Starbuck's in the area which tend to be on the sweeter side. The baristas always seem knowledgeable and friendly too. I've had their bakery items a few times, but as this Peet's shares a space with Noah's I'm more likely to wait a moment in the bagel line for a fresh bagel instead of one of the items at Peet's. Now that I've moved out of the area, I'm glad to have found a Peet's nearby but it isn't as consistent as this one. When I'm visiting Davis, though, I know where I can go to get a good cup of something hot or cold! read more

I've always thought Peet's has pretty good coffee. It's strong, which is how I like it, but at times it does have a bit of a bitter taste at the end. Otherwise, I love this location. There is free wifi and Noah's is right next door. Little tip: Peet's wifi is actually pretty slow, so I sometimes use Noah's BagelNet instead which I find is much faster. There is plenty of patio seating and there are little tables inside to sit. I wish there were a few more tables inside though as it can get crowded in there sometimes. The shape of the building makes that difficult though. Great place to get your morning started! Dutch Brother's still has the best coffee in town in my opinion, but when I feel like lounging, I usually go to Peets. read more

I love their roasts! I've tried one of their blends, and was really satisfied with it! Peet's has really strong coffee, which definitely gives me more of a caffeinated kick than Starbucks does. I've been going to this Peet's since I moved to Davis. The only thing I ever order is a cold brew fog latte and sometimes a ham & Swiss cheese croissant if I'm hungry. The employees are great. I'm always welcomed right when I walk in, asked how I am, and they always have a smile on their face. I love that! I dislike going into places where employees look like they hate what they're doing. Anywho, there's not that many tables and there isn't a restroom :( which makes it hard to study here. Peet's is also connected to Noah's Bagels so it's a pretty big space altogether. Everyday, I stop in for my morning cup of coffee. I am amazed at how many people work there and yet, how little time is devoted to helping people. Peet's gets a five star rating because of DIRT cheap coffee beans. Look out for the coupons, you can get a free 1/2 pound (or a full pound) if you use the coupon when you buy a pound. Peet's goes back to my childhood when my dad would have it shipped bi-monthly because it is the only coffee he will drink and until the mid 90s there were no locations in Sacramento. This is part of the reason I have a love for their strong style of coffee which I hear most starbuckians complain about, but for a good cup of black coffee Peet's brings great flavor and will perk you up. Not the best coffee on an empty stomach because you can get the shakes from caffeine overload, but I like coffee with a variety of foods, particularly sweet baked goods. I have only been to the Covell location once or twice but don't remember having much problem with waiting. When it it looks like each employee is doing a job I don't mind much of a wait since if I need coffee right away I'll make it at home. I've been to the E. street location a good handful of times and have found the service to be quick and the staff to be friendly. Actually, each Peet's I've been to, from Sacramento to San Francisco and Oregon, I have experienced friendly, helpful staff. read more

Store/atmosphere: The store is clean but it shares the space with a bagel shop and the lines can get weird, and the smells don't always interact well. Coffee/drinks: The coffee is fine, great knowledge of whole bean, but do not order an Iced Coffee! They pour hot coffee over ice, which makes luke warm watered down mud water. Wow it is nasty. Other than that drinks are fine. Speed/service: Don't go to Peet's for speedy service. As long as you know that it is fine. Overall: Since I prefer Iced coffee I can't give this place a great score, but they aren't a bad substitute once in a while. read more

I live around the corner from this place and couldn't be happier about it. While I am not the fondest of strong coffee flavor, this Peet's manages to provide both a good coffee kick with just enough sweetness to mask that sometimes bitterness of coffee. A lot more busy in the early mornings than in the afternoons when compared to the Peets in downtown Davis where its super busy pretty much all day, but especially more in the morning with students. You'll see an older crown in the mornings whom belong to bicycle or running clubs. It is attached to a Noah's Bagels so u can get ur bagel fix AND a cup of the best coffee in the US! No need to get specialty drinks for ur caffeine fix, a regular black will be more than enough to make u get the jitters. :) (I grew up in Berkeley a few blocks from the original Peets Coffee) read more

Good staff and products, but no restrooms--they tell you to go to Safeway, across the parking lot. Many customers walk their dogs here and have nowhere to wash their hands, so they will be potentially touching surfaces, creamer, etc. after cleaning up after their animals. Their proprietary roasting process and their buyers' selection of choice beans from around the world combine to make the best, most full-flavored coffees I've ever had. Great teas, too, if that's your thing. Hands down the best coffee darned near anywhere! (Starbuck's is to Peet's as Denny's is to Starbuck's.) I have been to several Peet's locations in several cities and I always get the same results, yuk! So having worked at several coffee shops/cafes before I know my way around an espresso macine, both automatic and not. I know the difference between a good shot and a burnt one. Peet's does not use automatic espresso machines, which is fine but they need to teach their employees how to pull a good shot (not burnt.) Everytime I go there I get burnt shots, this is because they are packing the espresso too much so the hot water stays in too long and burns it. Don't ever get espresso drinks here. read more
