Best coffee ever!! If you like quality coffee, Peet's is the best!! I can't emphasize that enough. My absolute favorite coffee is the the Iced Havana, its a Cuban cappuccino. It's very strong, creamy and lightly sweet. Their golden chai is also delicious. Definitely try the Jalepeno pretzel or maple scone! They're to die for! I'd rather drive 20 min out to Peet's than down the street to Starbucks. There is no comparison! Starbucks is just full of sugar. read more

Love this Peets. The team members always make my drinks right and they are very friendly. They answer all questions kindly and make sure they understand orders. I recommend everyone to go there. This is also a great place for students to do homework. There are lots of outlets and tables, only thing is that the only way to get wifi is through a code and you have to buy something. The coffee is good and the atmosphere is great. There's ample outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating as well. However, the staff is probably my favorite part. I came here in a busy Thursday morning. I made my order and forgot to ask for my bagels twisted and also a larger size in my coffee. While I was back in line to make the changes to my order the associate kindly asked if their was something they had missed as she walked by me to fill the cup holders. I told her what I forgot and she upgraded my coffee ( at no charge, even though it was my fault) and toasted my bagels right alway. They were fast and accommodating!!! Great coffee here and good customer service. It's usually pack in the mornings, and unfortunately I cannot enjoy any quiet while I have my cuppa. Best to go there before 7 AM. Good coffee. Great coffee. Man, this place makes an Americano like no other. The location is nice and it's comfortable inside and out. Their free wifi compensates for the cell phone hole, though I'd prefer to use my own hotspot. I dinged them because in 20 visits, I've never seen a staff member smile. Peets coffee is some of the best around so if this review was on the coffee alone they'd get 5 stars. However, this review is more about the coffee shop itself. I live in Bressi and come up to Peets all the time. Lately, when stopping by to grab a coffee some of staff seem distracted or to engrossed in their conversations to help. This is not all of them as there are several that are pleasant and attentive. But a few need to be better at making eye contact when taking an order or stop talking to other employees so I can get my order in. read more

I've waited a long time for Peet's to finally be in North county. And when they finally built one, I was not disappointed. I find Peet's to have to best espresso around. Don't get me wrong, I go to Starbucks and enjoy it, but if there is a Peet's around, I'll make the effort to go there. If you're a fan of coffee/espresso and have never tried Peet's, you should give it a go. The store is kinda small, but it has a small outdoor area as well, and the weather here in Carlsbad is typically pretty nice. read more

Every morning I stroll through this place and I am always greeted with a big smile and a good morning. I will never go to another coffee shop! Everyone that works at peets is so nice and helpful. They also have the best pastries in town. Warning the only thing I don't like about peets is if you order a hot tea its so hot that you have to wait an hour for it to cool. The staff is nice, the location has a great outdoor seating area but overall way too corporate and unwavering in their ways (they wouldn't customize anything for my 3 year-old son like La Costa Coffee and even Starbucks does). I love that Peets is in my neighborhood. Their chai freddos are delicious and refreshing. The baristas are always helpful as well - they spent a good amount of time helping me to pick out the some coffee beans for my husband's stocking during Christmas (I'm not a coffee drinker, so I needed some help)! He ended up loving the ones they suggested. It's also nice to have some variety in the area, rather than just another Starbucks. Customer service is lacking. I'm a coffee shop frequenter, and I've been pleased with the service at Peet's Encinitas, and most Starbuck's. I had to repeat my order since the cashier wasn't listening the first time I stated it, seemed like this was the last place he wanted to be. Long line. Pastry itself was fine, not really all that fresh. Sine Starbuck's changed their pastries, I've been really pleased with the quality so I was disappointed with my muffin. I'll give this place another try just to see if it's any better. Bathroom was decent when I visited. read more

While I prefer Peets over Starbucks, I did not experience the greatest customer service today. I ordered a large cold brew coffee today. And when the Barista put up my order she called out medium. When I told her I ordered a large all she said was well he charged you for a med and didn't bother to offer to fix the mistake, I would've paid the difference if asked. When I pay $3.50 for a coffee and leave you $1 tip on top of it I would expect a little better customer service for it. I'm in the service industry and you always try and accommodate as best you can. Not brush the customer off which I felt happened today. read more

I like coming here for coffee and reading. It's generally quiet enough to read a book. Service is exceptional. I like drinking coffee out of a real coffee cup and not a plastic cup like what they serve at Starbucks. I also like going to Trader Joe's afterwards for shopping. Not impressed. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and had a couple of customers in line before me, the customer at the register was asking a ton of questions about coffee. Instead of having one of the other 4 employees help this particular customer the register woman continued to help this needy customer. After waiting 10 minutes I was asked what I wanted and then paid for it. They made something completely different and by this time my two children were not having the long wait (toddlers and 20 min do not match) and I left with the incorrect drink. The drink was horrible and I had simply two sips and tossed the rest. read more
