That was so frozen you couldn't even bite into it for 5 minutes. Our first time here and the gal taking our order was not helpful at all and didn't really seem happy to be there. When we asked her what were some of the top sellers for flavors. She didn't answer us at all and acted like she didn't hear the question. Then when we started to ask for different menu options we were told they were out of a lot of stuff but didn't even mark them off the menu as out of stock. Is a negative star an option. We recently walked by this shop during the monthly art walk. We talked about stopping for a treat but wanted to quickly spin into a few more galleries before they close. There was a cute table on the sidewalk, offering art supplies for community use. My high school student (who specifically came to see the local art) was inspired and sat down to use the art supplies at an outside sidewalk table while I looked in the next gallery. Shortly after the owner and a worker became aggressive with my daughter. Telling her to leave immediately, and grabbed a pen out of her hand. She shamed my teen and left us all with a dreadful feeling about the true intent. I went back in to try to understand the concern and the worker was aggressive and demanded we leave. I have never had any situation like this. So we definitely decided NOT to get desert here after all. What a huge downer from a place with "peace" in the name. I'm a huge fan of cookies and ice cream so this place was heaven in a bite for me. I was lost for words with all the different flavors but I ended up getting the salted caramel brownie flavor (highly rated amongst the customer base) I will say it was amazing but the caramel did end up like toffee after being in the freezer and almost broke my tooth. 5 stars because the service and ambiance was quirky just remember your dentist would advise you stay away from the Caramel. read more

Easy to miss as it is tucked down an alley way (but not creepy). Live music was playing outside next door where all the adults were sitting and enjoying their alcoholic beverages while my childlike fat-kid-at-heart self desired sweets, so wifey and I popped in here to share a quick treat (mostly because we also were heading to dinner soon after or I most certainly would've eaten this entirely by myself); These are dense wafer like cookies with pie filling and mousse or ice cream or whatever in the centers! Brilliant! We shared the Elvis which had banana pie filling, peanut butter concoction, and chocolate ice cream of some sort in the center. This was an excellent combination! As already stated, I could've easily handled this cookie delight by myself it was very enjoyable and I hope they make they're way into the heart of Orlando by me! Such a cute shop! The cashier was very friendly and helpful. What I loved most was that the ice cream did not melt immediately, which is AMAZING for Florida heat. I don't usually order ice cream sandwiches, since the ice cream is typically very processed and melts quickly, becoming a huge mess. But here, they are prepared! It was nice to slowly take a bite and enjoy the flavors of the cookies, ice cream, and pie filling, without worry. Pretty good ice cream. I went here and barely made it inside. They were closing early due to the rain. I arrived as the girl working there was packing up her bag to go home. She still treated us nicely and served us. But had I been 2 minutes later I would have missed out. A van of people arrived 5 minutes after us and they were met with a locked door. My wife and I each got a sandwich. We both thought the ice cream was to soft and/or the cookies were to hard. The ice cream was pretty soft but not to soft and the sandwiches were hard like short bread. So the combo made for ice cream that gushed out one side. The sandwiches did taste good. The place is cute. It's a good concept. I wasn't in love with the ice cream. It's just my opinion. I had family that really liked it and I had family that weren't impressed. It's a perfect representation of the place-you either absolutely love it or ya say "meh". I will say that the staff was polite and courteous and tried to make the best recommendations they could based on the questions asked. I tried one with brownies, it was okay. You definitely can't fit and side of the thing in your mouth to take a bite. It makes eating it a little awkward and often times messy. My family and I did a day trip to Saint Augustine for my birthday and of course I needed to find a great dessert place to visit while we were there. I stumbled upon Peace Pie and we have it a try thanks to all the great reviews. First off the atmosphere is fabulous! So fun, colorful and very photo-worthy. The shop has a ton of flavor options just like any ice cream shop except these are premade ice cream pies. The only thing I was slightly disappointed about was the the "pie fillings" were more of a mouse consistency than an actual pie jam like I was anticipating. Walking down the street with my siblings and friends we stumbled upon a colourful and inviting facade. Why a facade? The ladies working the counter were not very hospitable at all. The interior was very open with a few chairs on the side. The layout was a little wonky and if you glanced at first, it may seem like you NEED to take your ice cream to-go as the chairs were somewhat hidden. I ordered the s'mores ice cream sandwich as, if you know me, s'mores is one of my favourites. The sandwich was.. good. I was excited because it looked so appealing but it is not something I would rave about. The ice cream tasted a little TOO frozen as it was in the freezer too long exposed. I was wanting more of the pie flavour as well. I think my favourite part was the cracker. $6 a tad pricy for a sandwich that is just good. I've come here several times and it is a great addition to downtown Saint Augustine. They've been open for a year and the owner Mary Rose is so sweet. If you love supporting family on restaurants this is one to visit. All the ice cream sandwiches are handmade and the owner does all of the murals on the wall. Peace Pie has been on my radar since I had planned a trip to Charleston (where Peace Pie is originally from.) The concept sounded amazing, ice cream sandwiched between two cookies with a layer of pie filling included too! The reality, though, was underwhelming. The ice cream sandwich I had at Whit's Frozen Custard was OUTSTANDING and I was hoping that Peace Pie would take that to the next level. Unfortunately, it was just "okay." The reception patrons receive when they walk in the door isn't the warmest. You're basically ignored by the worker as she scoops ice cream from a container onto the pan to put in the freezer. (I understand that ice cream is a TIME SENSITIVE food item so you can't always drop what you're doing.) However, the venue isn't really that inviting to *STAY* either. There's just two bar stools inside with a high rise table to eat your ice cream sandwich, an outside bench, and a few garden stools too. It gave me the impression, "Get your sandwich and *please* eat it on the GO!" My father raved about his Chocolate Strawberry ice cream sandwich and told me he couldn't wait to come back. I thought my Keylime sandwich was just alright. Anything sweet and COLD in this summer heat is welcome but I wished I had gone to The Hyppo instead. At $6 a sandwich it's not the most affordable dessert option but I also know how HIGH the rent can be downtown St. Augustine. I'm sorry I'm patronizing your business and that you're out of every flavor we were interested in? The service was impolite and especially unacceptable since the product is subpar anyway. I visited Peace Pie for the first time today. We were immediately greeted upon entering the store by a very friendly worker. He asked if we had visited before and when we said no he explained how the ice cream sandwiches were made and also asked what kind of flavors we were looking for. The store is very clean and everything is made in line of sight so no questions on how items are prepared. The ice cream sandwich was very tasty and very filling, make sure to come hungry! Not a place I will return to. Four of us went in on a slow night. No other customers. We ordered two coffees and two hot chocolates and two of the ice cream sandwiches in the cooler. The order took well over 10 minutes. One person behind the counter but everything was instant. She would literally make one coffee, bring it to the table. Make another coffee, bring it to the table, one cocoa, bring it to the table.... The ice cream inside the sandwiches was good enough but the "sandwich" parts were very hard and had to be removed and broken into pieces in order to eat it. The cocoa was the worst I have ever had.
