    Pasta Carolena

OUTSTANDING! In so many ways. We started with spinach artichoke dip and it was the best I have ever had! Then for entrees we got Brisket Mac N Cheese and Pasta Carolena. I chose to get my dish without an added protein and it was plenty! They give you WHOLE mushrooms and huge artichokes! The sauce is like no other! The Brisket Mac came with entire slabs of brisket on it and a delicious homemade cheese sauce. The bread with the entrees and the appetizer were both heavenly. I love the entire decor and atmosphere of the place, and the staff were all friendly and wearing their smiles through our whole visit! If you are in Boulder and looking for a nice spot for supper that is high quality without breaking the bank that is accompanied by a great experience- THIS IS YOUR SPOT. Check out their specials too!

Great weekday lunch experience. The entire restaurant was open to outdoors on a gorgeous September day. Food portions are large even for lunch. Service was good (and they weren't very busy). Will be going back for dinner.

Great menu that lets you try multiple different types of pasta. My dish bordered on burned. Friendly and fast service. Tables are very close together.

Very cute and cool ambiance! We came here for lunch during our trip to Boulder after a recommendation from a friend. My mouth is watering just thinking of the garlic bread and pasta with marinara sauce. Our waitress was kind and attentive. The outdoor patio seating was ample and they had heaters conveniently above us as the weather is starting to cool down. I love that the prices were affordable too after dining at a bougie restaurant the night before. All pasta lovers should add this place to their list!

Food good Location cool Service at door, NOT good!! I was here for work, looked at this to try out! I love Italian food, I live in South Florida, and there's plenty of it Very cold outside stepped in the door and the Young way at the front door if you could sit on the table in the window. She said it's not available yet, but will let you know we'll get it ready for you. Eight minutes later noticed another couple going to sit at the table as the young lady what happened she could only apologize and say she made a mistake after us sitting there, and having a full blown conversation about having that specific seat because we wanna look outside while we eat to take in everything of this surroundings!! She should have moved the other patrons, sadly put us in a corner looking at stairs. Food: Garlic knots - soft and oily! Needs more cook time for little crunch. I LOOK for good knots! Chicken parm: decent with a small sweet sauce and spicer kick in the end. Our waitress was best part and understood the issue about our seating. Kindly offered us dessert on them. 7 score for food 8.5 our waitress! Great and on point!! 3 for the young lady who did not follow the seating rules for customers!

Excellent food, great service and a really neat atmosphere. Waitress was on top of things but seemed to have a lot of tables which made service a little slow but it's a neat place to enjoy.

My family and I came here on a Saturday night around 5pm and were seated right away. By the time we left, people were waiting to be seated. The portions are so huge that we had some leftovers. I got the Georgio Bolognese and it was very delicious. The sauce was a little spicy which I wasn't expecting but good thing I like spicy foods. My brother got the Alfredo Williams. I tried it and thought the Alfredo was too rich. The chicken was nice and crispy. My mom got one of the Saturday specials, Seafood Cannelloni, and liked it. All of the pasta entrees come with garlic bread. It comes before the entree which I wasn't expecting. It was just ok. If you want extra garlic bread, it's $5. The water cups are so small, the waitress kept having to come back. At first, I was waiting for water for a while. We ordered some of the chocolate layered cake & tiramisu to go. They weren't that good and were expensive for the size of the dessert. The cake was dry. I would come back for the pasta if I were to visit the area again.

I LOVED this place!! The pasta and wine were great, the interior was cute and the service was good. Highly recommend the Buffalo Ravioli!

Visiting Boulder for a CU football game game, Pasta Jay's was recommended by some friends. If you get the right table near the window you'll get an amazing peekaboo view of the mountains, Awesome! Very friendly and attentive service for this quaint Italian pizza and past joint with reasonable prices and a variety of options. Caesar Salad was okay. The Seafood Stuffed Shells was an amazing special recommended by waitress. The Orgy Pizza was thin traditional crust with fresh toppings and really good as well. Baked Rigatoni was lackluster, a bit over cooked and could have had more cheeses and meat. The gelato from a gelato joint nearby was amazing. Overall we loved it.

We loved this place. Stumbled across this on Christmas Eve, straight out of a hallmark movie. Friendly staff. Great way to spend our evening. The beef rigatoni was very delightful. The ambiance is delightful, super vibe city in there.

Got lucky with parking, so our experience was already off to a great start! Since the restaurant wasn't that busy when we arrived (after the lunch rush,) we were seated right away. I ordered from the lunch menu--chicken piccata--while my dining companions ordered from the specials menu, listed on the chalkboard. Shortly after ordering, the complimentary garlic bread was brought to our table, and it was just as good as the Yelp reviews had said. Although I will say, it could've been a bit less crispy--just a personal preference. When the food arrived, my first impression was that the portions were huge. This is a good thing, so please don't change anything! Presentation was also nice and the aroma was just so heavenly. We absolutely loved our meals, but ended up having to take some food to go. Service was good, but we felt like we were also kind of being ignored by our server once larger parties started filing in. At least we didn't have to flag someone down to pay the tab though. For the quality and quantity, I'd say the cost is very reasonable. Definitely worth another visit.

Was it 5 years since my last visit? Nothing has changed except a nice happy hour! Great '50's music, sidewalk cafe, and good service from Kaili!

Oh my gosh was it good! I am a pasta lover but some might say a picky pasta lover. I was amazed at the food. The pasta was hot and the menu had so many options. Out waitress was also the SWEETEST girl ever. The service was outstanding because he was so kind and attentive and gave us all the advice on the menu. The place is also so cute!

But I am glad we had time today and went shortly after they opened for brunch and really enjoyed ourselves. We decided to share one savory crepe and one sweet. They are very large yet delicate and we barely finished them. Our savory was the Parisian and the sweet was the classic lemon. They were perfect in every way. Order at the counter when you arrive and choose a seat in the dining area. It's classic white walls with art and wood tabletops and metal classic cafe chairs. The food was excellent, the French chef owner made the crepes and delivered them to the table. We had picked up our drinks as we paid before choosing a table. It's usually been full when I've seen pictures in the past but it was a very cold day and students at CU as well as other families just getting back from the holiday season. They also offer Build Your Own Crepe and we probably will next time. For a sweet crepe next time I would do one with Nutella but without any banana as many of the standard choices had. For savory next time I would take the Normandy. We chose quickly today as a line started forming behind us. I had looked online at the menu though my husband had not had time. A plan would be good. It appeared that the counter staff may also be family. It is such a welcoming place with really good food, not found elsewhere in Boulder. And very good pricing for quality and portion size. They opened in an unusual little spot, almost downtown but not quite, in the stretch along Broadway between CU and the Pearl St Mall. They have a small parking access to 4 shared spaces with the shop next door to it and the access is on Arapahoe. If you are staying at the large new hotels on the Hill it's an easy walk, the equivalent of one long block. If you know Boulder well and need to easily park, there is paid parking in the library lot across Broadway and an easy flat walk both ways.

A lovely gentleman sat in the open bar stool next to me. Turns out he's a regular and longtime Boulder resident. He gave me some menu tips. Plus it was fun to learn about him and his business. I had the red wine on tap. Delicious and $9. Two favorite qualities in wine. I got the bolognese with linguini. It was beyond fabulous. Insert chef's kiss!
