Home made and feels just like home! The food is so fresh and soooo high quality. The staff / owners are amazing. They made us feel so welcome and so important and appreciated. We loved every dish we got and couldn't even pick a favorite. The focaccia bread is a MUST. Don't skip out you'll be missing out. Conveniently located near pearl street. Stop in and support this AMAZING small business!

Awesome handmade pasta, literally watch them cook the sauce from scratch in front of you (see photo). Super quality food and top notch service. Highly recommend.

Cacio e Pepe (V)

I give it a 4.5, but only because my Cacio E Pepe was very salty. Besides that the pesto my partner got was incredible. The staff was two young women that were very friendly, fast, and efficient in cooking. The interior was clean, cool, and welcoming. They also had a cooler of raw noodles you could buy to take home which I thought was pretty neat. I will definitely be back up to Boulder to try more of their dishes.

Run to this place! It's the best pasta and sauce hands down. I'm a native Philadelphian so I know good Italian. Stefano and Rachel, husband and wife team, have created magic here. It was very hard to choose just one dish but I ultimately decided on the pasta pomodoro. Insert chef's kiss. It was literally perfection. The pasta and sauce were so fresh. It was as if the tomatoes were cut from their vines minutes before making it to my plate. Simple, fresh, delicious. I'm already planning my returns so I can make my way through the menu. What they're also very known for is their takeaway. This is the concept the company was actually built out of but they do have limited seating for folks like me who like to dine in. I chatted with Stefano for a bit and he's the nicest guy and super passionate about the ingredients they use. Pricey, top quality ingredients... and utterly worth it... like all Italian imports. And we're lucky to have this Italian gem in the middle of downtown Boulder. Cin cin!

Found this little gem just half block from the busy Perl Street. Make sure you stop by and support this place. They really do have fresh pasta. The food is made right in front of you. Freshest ever! Definitely coming back again.

Ragu Bolognese

Wonderful Italian takeout (with a small counter if you want to eat in) that uses authentic Northern Italian recipes and home made pasta made daily from ingredients imported from Italy by the Italian Chef. I had the Ragu Bolognese which was prepared right in front of me. Unlike low end "fake Italian" joints, my dish was fresh, healthy, and wonderful. Not overly salted, buttered, or cheese, and the type of dish you could eat every day! My new favorite takeout in Boulder.

Gricia - Amatriciana - RAGU ALLA BOLOGNESE

Fresh, fast, authentic, and delicious! We stopped in here to get some meals to go. They do have a fairly large table to dine in, as well as bar seating where you can watch them cook up your meal. The owner is from Italy and takes great pride and care to ensure everything is authentic. He has brought all the equipment and ingredients from Italy to make the pasta in house. You walk in and order from a kiosk. Dine in or carry out you can watch them cook it up while you wait. They also have pasta you can purchase and take home to cook yourself. We got three different kinds. Gricia - pork cooked to a crisp and pepper sauteed to coat mezze maniche. My hubby's fav! Amatriciana - tomato sauce spiced by Italian chilis and enriched with decadent pork over casarecce. Not spicy for us, but we have high heat tolerance. Ragu Alla Bolognese -Tossed with freshly made pappardelle (dine in) or mezze maniche (take away). My fav of the three! I would def stop by again. We took ours to go and reheated later along with their focaccia bread, which was delish also.

But I am glad we had time today and went shortly after they opened for brunch and really enjoyed ourselves. We decided to share one savory crepe and one sweet. They are very large yet delicate and we barely finished them. Our savory was the Parisian and the sweet was the classic lemon. They were perfect in every way. Order at the counter when you arrive and choose a seat in the dining area. It's classic white walls with art and wood tabletops and metal classic cafe chairs. The food was excellent, the French chef owner made the crepes and delivered them to the table. We had picked up our drinks as we paid before choosing a table. It's usually been full when I've seen pictures in the past but it was a very cold day and students at CU as well as other families just getting back from the holiday season. They also offer Build Your Own Crepe and we probably will next time. For a sweet crepe next time I would do one with Nutella but without any banana as many of the standard choices had. For savory next time I would take the Normandy. We chose quickly today as a line started forming behind us. I had looked online at the menu though my husband had not had time. A plan would be good. It appeared that the counter staff may also be family. It is such a welcoming place with really good food, not found elsewhere in Boulder. And very good pricing for quality and portion size. They opened in an unusual little spot, almost downtown but not quite, in the stretch along Broadway between CU and the Pearl St Mall. They have a small parking access to 4 shared spaces with the shop next door to it and the access is on Arapahoe. If you are staying at the large new hotels on the Hill it's an easy walk, the equivalent of one long block. If you know Boulder well and need to easily park, there is paid parking in the library lot across Broadway and an easy flat walk both ways.

You will have to go through an app to pay for parking. This place only accepts cash. They do have an ATM on-site, if needed. As for the food and beer selection. Both were great. I was torn between the bison burger and the junk burger but decoded to go with the Junk Burger. It was literally cooked to perfection (well done chef!). As for the beer, they had 18 to choose from including two gluten free options. I could decide so I went with a beer flight which allowed me to sample several in my typical range of beers. Definitely would come back and recommend to anyone making stop in Boulder.

Our server didn't seem too happy that we showed up today, the food took about 30 minutes to get to us and the fried pickles and the Cuban weren't very yummy, we didn't finish either. Disappointing. However the French fries WERE very yummy! And the wrap was unique and pretty good. It's a large space and it was easy to find a seat. The artwork is beautiful. Luckily we found street parking so that was easy too. It's a cash only restaurant (or local personal checks) and while it wasn't a problem, we had cash, we probably wouldn't have come here had we known that beforehand. Credit card sales shouldn't be the consumers issue.

All good. I loved having a view of the bustle of the restaurant and especially all the parties celebrating birthdays. A few employees would gather at the table while delivering dessert and sing happy birthday. A few patrons like me joined them in the serenade. Such a warm, family vibe. A lovely gentleman sat in the open bar stool next to me. Turns out he's a regular and longtime Boulder resident. He gave me some menu tips. Plus it was fun to learn about him and his business. I had the red wine on tap. Delicious and $9. Two favorite qualities in wine. I got the bolognese with linguini. It was beyond fabulous. Insert chef's kiss! I took a small container home because I knew it would make a perfect lunch the next day, and it was. The rolls are divine. Hard, crunchy exterior with softness on the interior. I had one there and brought a second home to enjoy with lunch the next day. I know how to live. I enjoyed a short chat with Mariano, the owner's son who basically grew up there. We have a favorite pizza order, a salad and dessert we almost always face. It's gotten to almost be joke status when I walk in. They know my order , it's so perfect I dare not change. There are so many toppings I cannot have, I always go with the basic B and a Caesar salad. The basic B is for basil, an herb I adore. So this is really a simple but tasty Margherita with classic char on the crust. If there is no char, it's not NY pizza. The salad balances it perfectly. My husband always gets the Telluride Redfish amber ale. Not easy to find in Boulder. Tonight I had the Stem Cider Off Dry because they did not have the Hibiscus or the Chile Guava in stock. But Stem is local and my favorite brand and Off Dry the most common at bars. After such a nice meal on almost a holiday. We topped it off with a house made cannoli. Prepped fresh at service time so it won't get soggy. We can come here every few weeks , no matter the weather and enjoy it every time.
