I ordered Pasta Giusto (signature dish), Parpadelle, calamari, and Blackberry mojito. I have to say Pasta Eater also has great calamari!!! Service was great beach the staff, he was very friendly. He even gave me free cannoli, which was very generous of him. Price is affordable. Everything was fresh. The service was good with some glasses shattered by server two times in a row Pasta was good, I liked them. The cocktail menu has some nice choices. I had the Blueberry Mojito and it was delicious and refreshing. The parmigiana di melanzana was so flavorful. We ordered 2 pasta dishes, the Casoncelli (veal ravioli with speck and guanciale in a sage and butter sauce) was amazing and my personal favorite was Mafaldina Nera with pesto and clams, I never wanted it to end. Heard a lot about this place - good, not great: 3.5 rounded up. This place is known for their handmade authentic italian pasta, and my big thing with Italian restaurants in the city is that often, you overpay for something that isn't even handmade. Know that if you are coming here, you will get handmade pasta, but there are many other better choices throughout the city. The price point ($15-20) is better than most other places though. The olive oil they use here is DELICIOUS. While the bread we got was stale and cold, the olive oil was just multidimensional, fragrant and I took a pic so I could maybe buy it for myself. BLACKBERRY MOJITO - refreshing, strong, easy on the mint flavor but was nice on a warm day outside. BURRATA - burrata was just fine, the pesto was really good that came with it. Quite pricey but burrata tends to be that way no matter where you go. FUSILI BROCCOLINI Italian sausage and broccolini - i think it's becoming my favorite combo for a pasta dish. I've had it at quite a few diff places and this was underwhelming unfortunately. The sauce was good, and the pasta certainly tasted handmade, but was also lacking the chewiness I was hoping for - perhaps it was handmade but stored for some time, or was just a tad undercooked from making it al dente. Overall I don't know if the concept is supposed to be elevated or more casual - the low lighting and the plating seems elevated but the loud ravey music and the way the oil is bottled and the overall decor gives off causal vibes. We didn't have to wait very long at all at 4PM on a Saturday for a table of 3, for an early light dinner. We got an appetizer to share - the lamb lasagna was pretty good, no complaints and I like anything in a red sauce. We also got the wild boar ragu with homemade papperdelle and the homemade tagliatelle with porcini mushroom with black truffle sauce. Obviously we wanted to get homemade pasta if it was an option! The wild boar ragu was very good with a decent amount of tender meat. The tagliatelle, which was actually recommended, was a total miss. There was not even a hint of truffle sauce visually, nor did it smell like there was any truggle. The mush rooms were soft and kind of slimy almost and it made the rest of the dish slimey. We didn't finish and went somewhere else for more food unfortunately. My friends got the Gnocchi with lobster chunks and burrata which looked absolutely delicious and the cheese-wheel pasta (Fettuccine Giusto) I got the Penne with smoked scamorza cheese. The cheese wasn't overpowering so I could use a little more salt in my pasta, but it tasted great. The drinks also nice and got me a little tipsy (but Im a light weight). I went to Pasta Eater on a Tuesday for lunch. I made an 11:45 am reservation. Me and my coworker were the first ones there. We were seated right away. Served water right away. Ordered our food. It was on our table in about 7-8 minutes. I had the creamy lemon fettuccine with chicken. While the flavor was delicious and the chicken was tender my pasta was not fully cooked. And I had sprinkles of penne pasta mixed in. So it was challenging to truly enjoy. My coworker had the salad with chicken. She stated it was really good. Service at the end of lunch was not as attentive upon arrival but overall it was still ok. I would go back again but will make sure the pasta is fully cooked. read more
