I walked in after work for a solo dinner, excited to try this place for the first time. Unfortunately, my experience was immediately unwelcoming and disorganized. There was no host present to greet guests, provide direction, or explain the seating process. I noticed two people waiting and asked if they were waiting for a table, which they confirmed. When a seat at the bar became available, I went to take it, assuming it was open seating. The bartender, who had not acknowledged or greeted me upon arrival--aggressively and rudely said, "You can't sit here, there are people waiting." The situation could have easily been handled with basic hospitality and communication. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily rude and left me uncomfortable. The couple eventually decided they wanted to sit at the bar, but by then the experience had already been soured. I ended up leaving without ordering. On my most recent trip to NYC, I realized that I happened to be near Parm and went to see if I could walk in for lunch. This is the famous Carbone's sister restaurant, and it is my understanding that they serve many of the same dishes in a more casual setting. They happened to have one table available! This plate was on the spicy side; this the first time I was offered red pepper seasoning for the dish. The fusilli was smothered in creamy vodka sauce and was very tasty. The only drawback about the pasta was there was an overwhelming amount; I would have preferred a slightly larger cutlet and less pasta. The cutlet itself was overall decent. There was a perfect ratio of mozzarella cheese and sauce and the basil leaf added a nice flavor. The sauce on the cutlet was not the same was the sauce on the fusilli, but I still enjoyed it. Visited for lunch so I finally got to partake in the $25 lunch special (I did also get an Aperol spritz. I would argue that Parm has one of the best Aperol spritz if you like yours a little sweeter and not too bitter). For my appetizer, I got a small Caesar salad. It was a standard Caesar with croutons that had the essence of bone marrow. I was intrigued. My entrée was the rigatoni Carbone. I have only tasted it one other time and I would say this time it tasted a lot better. I do still prefer to get the bolognese here, but as part of the lunch deal, I was satisfied with this. It was tasty! I ended my meal with the brownies which tasted fine but were a little dry. If you prefer fudgy brownies like me, these may not be your cup of tea.   I have said it before and I'll say it again - Parm is probably one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Parm has been around a while, and I finally made it to the original location. It's classic, old-school Italian-American comfort food. The space is pretty small and they don't take reservations, so keep that in mind. I grabbed a seat at the bar during happy hour, weekdays from 3 to 7. The drink menu is limited, but a white wine did the job. It does get busy, though the bar is full service, which helps. We started with the garlic bread, cut into six pieces and sprinkled with parm. You HAVE TO add the fresh mozzarella. *chef's kiss* I went with the chicken parm platter, which came with rigatoni carbone. The pasta was perfectly al dente. It was a beautiful Friday in early November - in the 60s during the day and night about 50. Not so bad! We had a long day of touring lower east side and stayed in battery park city. But, walked all over SoHo and NoLita and found ourselves in Little Italy and turned on to Mulberry Street. We passed a bunch of places but since it was so nice out felt like walking the length of blocks to see what looked good. Our daughter wanted Italian, so we were in the right place! We saw a line outside of Parm with many food delivery drivers waiting for orders as well as others queuing for a table. Our daughter had just eaten next door at the Gray Dog a month ago, so that was a funny coincidence finding Parm. We were told we could get a table in the back past the vibrant and active bar seating. But, we opted to wait to sit outdoors. We still wanted to enjoy the great weather and have al fresco dining! So glad we waited. Shoutout to Sarah, our server - who was super helpful, friendly and patient with our questions and recommended the Gavi white wine asked difference between the gavi or verdicchio white wine to order - said it was still Happy Hour (3-7pm M-F) and it was a FriYay! Ordered prosecco and very much enjoyed the refreshingly crisp bubbly! Who can pass up Chicken Parm at a place called, Parm? I definitely couldn't and it didn't disappoint. Not only was it a large portion of both chicken and fusilli, it was all my husband raved about days later remarking it was one of the best Parms he's ever had! We 3 shared a good portion of it. I couldn't eat the entire order myself. Our daughter ordered the rigatoni Carbone which was luscious, creamy pasta to dream about. Spicy but not so much you couldn't put your fork down. kept wanting more. We all would definitely order that again! The street is closed off to traffic so you can relax and converse without cars whizzing by. Super tiny restaurant that barely has room for anybody except for sitting at the bar. My goodness is it tiny! Best to go when it is not so busy so you will not be thrown aside. Business size aside, this restaurant serves up some of the tastiest (and also some of the most expensive) pasta in Manhattan. That is why the review is only getting three stars out of five. The quality is amazing, and from my understanding, the owners of this restaurant have also opened two other restaurants of similar quality, Carbone and Torrisi. They are both two pasta shops that I hope to try one day. In the meantime, this review is about Parm, the original location in Little Italy. I followed my advice and went during Happy Hour, where they serve $6 appetizers. I went with the mozzarella sticks, and at first, it seemed like a good decision as you get plenty of them (six to be exact) along with marinara sauce. They look pretty, and definitely look homemade, but after that, I ran into problems. The mozzarella sticks are super dense, enough to sink the Titanic. I felt like if I ate all six of them I would not be able to eat my dinner. This was a disappointment. The Rigatoni Carbone was what I got for dinner and that is a winner in every sense of the word. It has great spice, but not too spicy. A nice amount of acid from the sauce, the pasta is cooked to a perfect al dente. The sauce is layered layered beautifully and it is the perfect portion. Finally, someone in Manhattan gets it right. I could not stop eating this because it really is a great dish. Before arriving here, I had heard they make a very good Italian hero, so to compensate without compromising, I got one to go so I can have one for lunch the next day. I hope it holds up, but just to be sure, I asked two employees if it would, and they concurred. Why three stars if the pasta is so amazing? It goes back to my original point. This is expensive pasta for what I received. Yes, the portion is decent and the meal is terrific, but I should not be paying what I paid overall. $50 for a plate of pasta and a ginger ale is way too much (because of the mozzarella sticks disaster my server removed them from the bill). I also felt crammed and out of place at such a restaurant. This caters to the wealthy. I am not made of money. The people next to me screamed NY transplants to the point that I felt that I was the one who did not belong, and I am from here! That hurt. Best spicy rigatoni pasta! I had several different versions and hands down this was my favorite. Parm has a lunch special which you can get an appetizer, main and dessert for 25 bucks which is great. I opt for the pizza rolls which are like garlic knots but much more airy and crunchy at the same time. It was delicious paired with their marinara sauce. For my main was the spicy rigatoni pasta. It was delicious and soooo good. For dessert I got the brownie. It was good but I also had it cold since I took it to go. Overall everything was delicious and will be back at this locations. I've been to Parm before but at a food hall in Las Vegas so I was excited to actually visit one of their stores. I came here on a Sunday night and was seated immediately. Staff were super nice and friendly! I ordered the Chicken Parm Plate and Garlic Bread. I wasn't a big fan of the garlic bread but the chicken parm plate was really good. The pasta that came with it was a little spicy but I liked it! I had ordered the plate to be shared and they already split it for us, which was really nice. Know before you go: The restaurant does not take reservations and they seat full parties only. You can't put your name on any sort of list, you have to physically stand outside the restaurant and wait until your table is ready. On a hot, sunny day, the waiting game was not fun. When you are eventually called to your table, you finally understand why they don't take reservations. The dining room is the size of a shoe box. They do have a bar, with probably 8-10 chairs. But both the bar and the dining room are tight. The chicken parm hero was good. The vodka rigatoni wasn't as good as it was at UWS location. Also, the UWS location takes reservations, and has a much larger space. read more

Parm is one of my favorites on the west side and this location in Nolita has so much more character with the same great food. It's a small restaurant with a casual chill vibe. There are tables in the back and we were able to get 2 seats at the bar. Food at Parm is seriously good - I dream of the Rigatoni Carbone. The dish that made Carbone famous. The Al dente rigatoni is tossed in a spicy vodka sauce. It is delicious and a solid choice. The Arugula - a nice salad with arugula and topped with a fig vinaigrette and fresh Parmesan cheese. Okay so there's a lot of excellent restaurants in Little Italy. Sometimes when my family gets together we decide to have a menu we are familiar with and enjoy. Having been to Parm's other locations we were pleased that the food and service was the same as we expected. My daughter typically gets Eggplant Parmesan either the sandwich or the meal. With the meal we get complementary bread and butter. I am partial to the Turkey Sandwich prepared without anything I'm allergic to like tomatoes. The servings are so generous that everyone gets a doggie bag. Service was timely and attentive without being overzealous. If you are in this neighborhood I suggest you check out the menu. Great little place! Walked in midday on a Saturday and there was no wait. I sat at the bar and Rich (the bartender) took excellent care of me, very friendly and attentive. I had the baked ziti. Generous portion and extremely delicious - perfectly cooked, even chewy/crispy at all the corners (the menu says "always the corner piece" - they must have individual sized cooking pans). Pleasant atmosphere the whole staff seemed friendly. Would definitely come back. I was too full for dessert but next time I want to try the cannoli - the menu says "the best you ever had." This past summer August 2024, I had the pleasure of dining at Parm in New York, a sister restaurant to Carbone, which has always been my go-to when I'm in the city. Since we didn't have a reservation for Carbone and couldn't risk waiting as we had a baseball game to catch, we decided to try Parm--and I'm so glad we did! The food at Parm was nothing short of spectacular, and the price point was unmatched. Honestly, after this experience, I might never go back to Carbone. My family and I ordered almost everything on the happy hour menu, sharing each dish so we could sample it all. We also split an entrée featuring the famous spicy rigatoni (also served at Carbone) paired with chicken cutlets. To my surprise, the spicy rigatoni at Parm was even better than Carbone's. What really stood out was the value. We had so much food--far more than we could finish--and spent about half (or less) of what a meal at Carbone would have cost. Unfortunately, since we couldn't take leftovers with us on the train, we gave the untouched food to someone outside who was asking for help, which made us feel good about not letting it go to waste. The service was excellent. We sat at the bar, and it was super easy to walk in, get seated, eat, and be out within an hour and a half--perfect timing for our game. Parm is efficient, delicious, and offers an incredible experience without the hefty price tag. I highly recommend Parm to anyone visiting New York, especially if you're looking for a more affordable alternative to Carbone. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the city! I've been here twice and both experiences were great! My partner and I came at the perfect times because we didn't have to wait to be seated either time (there were open seats at the bar which worked perfectly for us). The restaurant itself is pretty tiny so if you're hoping for a table it might be a bit of a wait. The service is always great and the staff is friendly. You can see all the food being prepared as the kitchen is open, which is nice since you can see everything is freshly made to order. We always get the Chicken Parm and the Rigatone Carbone, which are both delicious. I had been wanting to try Parm for a long time because I love eggplant parmesan and happy to report that I really enjoyed it! I ordered the eggplant parm platter with a side of the spicy rotini. It cost $25. The portion was actually pretty big and I had a lot leftover that I snacked on for a few days after. I'm not normally that into vodka sauce but after reading reviews I wanted to try it and I'm glad I did. Takeout was easy. I ordered after 7pm on a weekend and the food was ready in 15 minutes. Stopped into Parm off the recommendations from the SA at Polene. Amazing restaurant on Mulberry St. The owner was super sweet and very friendly recommending dishes and creating a family atmosphere. The inside isn't super big but the crowd was good making my time there enjoyable. I stopped in for a drink and lite bite and was recommended to get the calamari. The order came out with minimal air time. Food was good and tasty. The bartender was also very nice and welcoming. He made sure that my drinks were refilled well before they were empty.
