We celebrated my grand sons 16th birthday on August 26, 2026, because he wanted to eat there. The wait staff and hostess Michelle, are GREAT. The drawback was that my daughter bought cupcakes she made for him. The manager shows up and tells us that there is a 10 dollar, per person slicing cake fee! My daughter tells him that is is cup cakes. He then says that it is 5 dollars per person. We were so shocked! Per person!!! We then went to Battery Park, sang Happy Birthday and took awesome pictures of the beautiful view. With the money spent, they could have given him a piece of brownie and he would have been over the moon. If there is a "slicing fee" then we should have been told before or have it written in their policy. Will not go there again, will try the one on Mulberry Street in Little Italy....... read more

I've been a regular customer at Parm since it opened in June 2015, and after all these years, it remains one of my reliable downtown spots for satisfying Italian-American food. My most recent visit was for happy hour on a rainy Thursday in late August. Despite the torrential rain, the bar area was completely full by 5 p.m.--always a good sign. The atmosphere was lively, the food was satisfying as usual, and the service was prompt and friendly. There is, however, one downside: the noise level. Parm can get loud--really loud. The marble bar and casual, diner-like interior create a lively atmosphere, but conversation can become difficult once the restaurant fills up. The Food Parm specializes in the kind of Italian-American food that is familiar, nostalgic, and, when done well, extremely satisfying. The Chicken Parm is the obvious signature: crisp, generously portioned, and covered with tomato sauce and melted cheese. It doesn't try to reinvent chicken Parmesan; it simply delivers the classic New York version people come to Parm expecting. The Meatball Parm is another standout, while the pasta dishes provide a connection to the restaurant's more famous sibling, Carbone. And don't overlook the sandwiches. Parm began as a sandwich-focused concept, and its Italian-American heroes remain an important part of its identity. The food isn't particularly experimental--and that's part of the appeal. Parm knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to be something it's not. The History Parm has an interesting pedigree. The restaurant grew out of Torrisi Italian Specialties in Little Italy, founded by Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi. What began partly as a sandwich operation eventually evolved into Parm, with the first standalone location opening on Mulberry Street in 2011. The Battery Park City restaurant was the third Parm, following the original Mulberry Street location and the Upper West Side. From the beginning, Parm was conceived as the more casual and accessible counterpart to the group's more ambitious restaurants--a place serving the Italian-American food Carbone and Torrisi grew up eating. Today, Parm is part of Major Food Group, whose principals include Carbone, Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick. The group is also responsible for restaurants such as Carbone and Sadelle's. That connection is worth knowing because Parm can be thought of as the casual, neighborhood-friendly side of the Carbone/Torrisi restaurant world. You get many of the same Italian-American influences without the formality, price, or reservation challenges associated with Carbone. The Atmosphere Parm's interior has a classic, casual New York feel, with a marble bar and diner-inspired design. It's energetic rather than elegant, making it particularly well suited to a casual lunch, happy hour, or uncomplicated dinner. The trade-off is the volume. When Parm is busy, it is very busy--and very loud. My Bottom Line After more than a decade of visits, Parm remains a restaurant I'm happy to return to. It offers good Italian-American food, friendly and efficient service, and a lively New York atmosphere. It isn't a destination restaurant in the same league as Carbone, nor is it trying to be. What Parm does particularly well is provide dependable, satisfying comfort food in a casual setting. For me, that's enough to keep coming back. read more

It's a bit hard to find food in this area, especially on an unbooked Saturday night. Luckily, Parm was spacious, and close to WTC. We were seated immediately upon arrival. - Penne Scampi, (3/5): pasta texture was good, but I felt the flavor was super mild and missing a lot of salt/umami. Adding extra Parmesan cheese helped slightly, as well as dousing it in chili flakes, but I think having some lemon or garlic powder would have given it slightly more edge. I also wish it was whole pieces of shrimp, rather than tiny chopped chunks. Overall, not bad if you are looking for a filling bite in Fidi. read more

3.5 overall. A few things fall short in our first dinning experience here. My husband and I dropped by here after the movies on one of the hottest days (7/3) in 14 years. My husband loves chicken parm and we had somewhat of a high expectation walking in. Also, the name of the restaurant is called Parm, come on. The staff were very friendly and told us they were doing a happy hour and drinks were half off. Unfortunately, I am pregnant and couldn't have any drinks. Mocktails were charged at full price and we served water without ice on this very hot day. I asked for a cup of ice and for some reason the cup had soap residue tastes to it (maybe it's my heightened sense of smell and taste), what's going on? We ordered meatballs and a chicken parm hero (wasn't gonna try something too adventurous for the first time). The server dropped the meatballs the second it came up lol and had to bring it back. When the new meatballs returned, they were middle rare in the middle. OMG lol I was disappointed but didn't want to ask for different ones. We took it home as left overs. The chicken parm was good but it wasn't the most amazing sandwich. Overall, the vibe is right, the restaurant is clean and it has a very nice bar where you can watch the FIFA games. But overall, it's the small stuff here and there that just makes the experience unimpressive. They add up. You can't do that with food, esp if you're a restaurant. Just my opinion at least. read more

This will no longer be my go to place. I got raw uncooked chicken and a horrible side salad. They threw on a whole bunch of nonsense. The lettuce was not fresh at all and im allergic to olives. When you offer a side salad you expect simple greens, this was disgusting with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in. Whole meal was tossed. read more

I have been to some of the finest restaurants in New York with a large group. My allergies were sent ahead to the restaurants and Parm is the only one that told me of things I might be allergic to. I usually come here for their lunch special after catching a matinee movie at the Regal across the street. I get the rigatoni since it's the only vegetarian dish I can eat from that menu, and the side Sunday salad. The cannoli dessert is very filling and I usually take the rest home. It's pretty empty and quiet during early Sunday afternoons which is preferred. The waiter who usually works at that time is very nice! They always plays 50's music which gives it that nice oldies vibe. read more

Sharing the same ownership as the Carbone restaurant, you can get the famous spicy vodka pasta - looked much better than what I was eating (roast beef sandwich). Roast beef was overly hard crusty bread, not a fan of that as it was tough to bite through. The mayo/roast beef/pepper was ok in the middle but very salty - offset to the hard and tasteless sesame seeded Italian bread? Italian bread should be much softer... tough one there. Could've used some butter and garlic and at least there's an excuse for garlic bread to be hard. The pizza roll dots weren't very good (a little overbaked as they were hard, but not a great flavor with the red tomato sauce which was plain). Lunch special is a good deal, though, pasta carbone with the salad and a couple cannoli's would be excellent, though my colleague who had it said the pastry shell on the cannoli's was not very good (filling was good). Service was ok, but slow. They were not that busy at lunch (about half the tables full), getting the waitstaff attention wasn't the easiest. read more

Parm only received the 3 stars because of how nice the staff was and the wine was pretty good but the food really was below average. This could and should hardly be considered Italian :( I really need the chef to do a better job. My sister liked the spot and recommended it but I'm not sure why. The garlic bread was so hard and had a weird after taste and my chicken parm and pasta was oddly spicy and chicken didn't have enough flavor. Definitely way more authentic options around. read more

Ordered: Parm Sangria (~$15): red wine, rum, and orange Meatball Parm Platter (~$25): 3 meatballs served with homemade sauce and mozzarella with spicy rigatoni Carbone (substituted the spicy rotini pasta) Aya's take: Maybe being chaotic and lackluster is part of the Parm "experience" because this is the second Parm location I visit and the vibe is just off. Despite this location being more spacious and not as busy, we waited a while before our server came by to give us water or take our orders. We started with the Parm Sangria which we sadly had to send back. It was watery and didn't taste like the ingredients listed. It was sweet but there was something off-putting about it. The Meatball Parm Platter was solid. One thing about Parm is they will redeem themselves with the food. The meatballs were tender and well-seasoned and the spicy rigatoni Carbone was better than the last time! Their spicy sauce recipe is perfect and I highly recommend substituting the rotini for the rigatoni. Good food but mediocre service & ambiance. read more

I love the chicken parm with spicy rigatoni from Parm! The restaurant is owned by the same owner of Carbone, so you can get the same spicy rigatoni without the long wait! As soon as we walked in it was a bit chaotic - empty chairs everywhere and not tucked under the tables, and the host was not present so we were standing around waiting for a couple mins for a table. No big deal but not the best first impression, it seems to always be chaotic at Parm, even the upper west side location was disorganized. The food is tremendous and worth it, the spicy rigatoni is perfectly cooked and the vodka cause is delectable. That's what keeps me coming back. The meatballs were ok, not as good as Carbone but that's to be expected at a much lower price point. They were a bit dry and not as juicy/flavorful as I would have liked. I'd get the chicken next time. The drinks were not good - I got the Parm Sangria and it tasted very watered down so I complained and the waiter brought me a Moscow mule instead. That was also terrible, it tasted heavy of lime juice and salt and there wasn't even a hint of ginger beer. I did finish it and felt ripped off. How do you mess up such a simple drink? Great classic chicken and eggplant parmigiana (why it's called Parm) and pastas with the famous Carbone sauces but not Carbone prices. Highly recommend for regular neighborhood dining and after work. Seems very family friendly also. read more

We were seated quickly for dinner on a Friday night and our server was very friendly but all of our food was pretty mediocre at best. I'd say the calamari was the best of our appetizers. The pizza knots were fine too, the buffalo cucumbers were not that great though. I had the eggplant parm on a hero and it left a lot to be desired. Not very flavorful and didn't taste that fresh either. The spaghetti and meatballs was also just ok. read more

Maybe like three stars. Parm has various locations around the city. They serve Italian American comfort food in a spacious, and fun environment. Enjoy sandwiches, pasta, salads, in a cozy setting. The spaghetti and meatballs were for sure hearty. Portion sizes are larger than average. I was eyeing the Rigatoni Carbone with the pink vodka sauce - next time I 'll try this dish. The Crispy Zucchini was delightful but a tad greasy. The sauces accompanying this appetizer, however, were delicious. I'll definitely try them again. read more

Not going back, and here's why: this place would rather keep an empty dining room "reserved for staff" than let a paying customer sit down with their food. We ordered at the counter, tipped 20%, and took a seat while we waited. When our order finally came out, the host, who'd just gotten that tip, came rushing over before I could even open the box to check it. She told us we had to move because the table was for tipped employees only. Keep in mind, the place was dead. Not one other table was occupied. The manager ended up refunding us, but the explanation didn't make it better. She said it was a direct policy from ownership, not something she had control over. So the message is pretty clear: they'd rather protect an empty table than accommodate the customers actually keeping the lights on. NYC has no shortage of restaurants that would appreciate the business instead. read more

Ordered at the counter and tipped 20%. Sat at a table top and waited for our order. They delivered our order to the table we were sitting at, and I pulled out the sandwich to check that my order was correct. I was then hounded by the host, whom I had just tipped, who came in zooming & with a purpose to tell me I couldn't eat the sandwich there. Mind you, there were more employees at the restaurant than there were people. Not a single table was sat. I didn't even get to open the box. I don't even know what the sandwich looked like. We were told we couldn't eat at the table we had been sitting at for 10 minutes, awaiting our order, because it was for tipped employees, although we tipped 20% on the Togo order. Too many places in NYC to support one that treats paying customers this way. The manager on duty refunded us because their policy of keeping the restaurant empty matters more than paying customers who tip. "Direct policy from the owners," said the manager. Apparently, kicking out paying customers who tip is a better business model for the hospitality industry. read more

Got the chicken parm here with the side pasta. The food is pretty standard, and tastes good but nothing too spectacular. There definitely wasn't enough staff or servers during prime happy hour/dinner times as we were waiting quite a while to be attended to, as most of the workers were handling the corporate happy hours in the general bar area. Seems like they only had 1 server, if even, for the seated parties on the other side of the restaurant. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard Italian restaurant, they also have sandwiches and hero's to order as well if you're looking for a dish other than pasta. read more

I stopped by Parm Battery Park and was pleasantly surprised right from the start. For an appetizer, the buffalo cucumbers were light, crisp, and packed just enough tangy heat to wake up the palate -- a fun twist on a classic flavor. For mains we grabbed the spicy rigatoni carbone, which brought that creamy, velvety heat it's famous for, the toasted turkey hero with a side of fries, which was hearty and perfectly balanced, and the penne scampi that hit all the right garlicky, lemony notes. Went here on a bright Saturday evening and the place was deserted, which in New York City suggests either a hidden gem or a known dud. Given that I was at Parm, I figured neither was true and happily ate in a vast and vacated dining room. I felt like Chris Pratt's character in the movie "Passengers"; why am I the only human with conscience, besides a waiter donning a tawdry uniform vest? In hindsight I can only surmise why this Parm location, despite having ten times the space, is far less busy than the Mulberry Street location teeming with diners and deliverymen at every hour. Perhaps it's the sleepy service or the cavernous space that belies Parm's simple menu (in contrast, the claustrophobia of the Mulberry St location suits the simple cuisine and retro brand). Ordered the rotini genovese, which is only on the printed menu of the Woodbury Commons and Boston locations. The staff at Battery Park were nevertheless able to make the dish (it's on the delivery apps; maybe it's an online special?), so I tip my hat to them. The dish was rather ordinary despite the burrata and generous Parm shavings. The (nut-free) pesto has the flat flavor profile of a pesto you might find at the supermarket; has a nice zing that is betrayed by the oil and salt, which makes finishing even a moderately-portioned dish somewhat monotonous. Probably won't come here often, but it's certainly a fine option if you are with a large party. read more

They told me that's just the way it is and to come early. We did and the service was rushed, careless and the plates were thrown together. Despite all of this , the food was nothing like carbone. It wasn't worth what they charge and it makes sense to why their Restaurants are always empty. Terrible service they told me I can only get one coke because the kitchen was closed lol. I can't make this up! Would absolutely never come back and I hope they don't reply to this because this is what happens. Usually love parm and the aperol spritz this visit were AMAZING, but that's about it. We had to wait forever to get service (after we were seated) and over 40 minutes for our food. I typically eat pretty healthy but if I'm traveling anywhere for work, all that goes out the window. I got the Parm Caesar salad which came heavily doused in dressing and cheese, adorned with these butter-soaked chunks. It wasn't so much a salad as it was cheese and dressing and croutons with a side of romaine. Also tried a bit of my friend's baked ziti (pretty good, a tad dry) and garlic broccoli (cooked to a nice crisp but holy moly, this made my breath reek well into the next day). They also have the Carbone rigatoni here for $18 (while I just looked up the dish on Carbone's menu and it's a whopping $34, jeebus). If the spicy rigatoni is the only reason you want to check out Carbone, come here instead. I had a hard time finding Parm; initially thought it was somewhere inside Brookfield but it's actually separate and on the other side of the block as PJ Clarke's. Same block as Seamore's. Dined here for dinner since it was nearby my workplace. Walk in was relatively fast, 2 min wait, however the place was extremely rowdy and noisy. Not sure if there was an event going on, but probably due to how small the space was. Customer service was lacking, was never checked up on how we liked our food, and had to hunt down the server. Food took slightly longer to prepare and portion sizes are surprisingly smaller than at other Italian places in the city. They're known for the rigatoni but personally wasn't wowed by it. The calamari was really disappointing, texture and taste, wouldn't get it should've gotten garlic bread over it. Dessert options were a bit lackluster it was a brownie, a sundae, and cannoli, I was hoping for slightly more options for an Italian places, and dessert was mid at best. Parm is a chain of Italian restaurants owned by Major Food Group (the people behind Carbone, Torrisi etc) but it's essentially the little casual sister. The inside is nicely decorated, and gets a lot of light. They also have an amazing happy hour that lasts all day over the summer and features both drinks and food. I walked in on a weekday and sat at the bar with a friend. We got the Aperol Spritz ($7), Pizza Knots, and Mozz Sticks off their happy hour menu, and the classic Rigatoni Carbone off their regular menu. The Spritz is so tasty and a great deal. I also liked the Pizza Knots, they're basically like savory, garlicky donuts. The Rigatoni Carbone is yummy, with lots of sauce and a good kick from the peppers. Service was just fine. I feel like this place gets a bad rep because people go in expecting it to be at the level of Carbone, despite the steep discount in prices, and they leave unhappy because it's not the same place. If you take it at what it is: a casual, convenient chill spot that has cheap tasty drinks and food (esp at happy hour), you won't be disappointed. read more

Admittedly, when out of town cousins invited us to lunch at Parm, I had some reservations. I mean, the one we visited on Mulberry Street years ago, the OG, disappointed on so many levels. The food had major problems and the service could not be worse. The Brookfield Place experience, however, was a pleasant surprise. Whereas the cramped Mulberry Street restaurant caters mainly to tourists and hipsters, this one can accommodate large gatherings in spacious clean digs. Even the background music is easy on the ears. The little tykes received paper menus and coloring crayons with appropriately proportioned pasta dishes. I ordered a big boy Old Fashioned with nice cherries. It was good. The meatballs appetizer was average. My fusilli bolognese did not cone with much meat in the sauce. I've visited a number of Parm locations around the city over the years and what I appreciate most is their consistency. No matter which one you walk into, you can count on the same lineup of Italian-American classics prepared with a kind of comforting reliability. It's right there in the name, so the focus on parm sandwiches and platters isn't surprising, but it never feels tired. My order is almost always the chicken parm platter, which comes with a generous portion of Carbone's famous spicy rigatoni pasta. On days when I'm not as hungry, the chicken parm hero is just as satisfying and a little easier to manage. This particular location, set in the Financial District, is the largest of the Parm restaurants and it often feels more spacious than necessary. On weekends, when the neighborhood tends to empty out, the dining room can be surprisingly quiet. But that calm has its upside...there's never a wait for a table and the staff are attentive. While the energy here might not match the bustle of Parm's uptown or midtown outposts, the food itself is just as reliable. read more
