Who doesn't want a hot little take-away container of freshly made gnocchi?! My girls and I were really excited to try this place and it did not disappoint!! When we walked in the location was super clean and we were greeted warmly. We ordered and our food came out hot and quick. We got the pesto and the vodka. Nice fun idea! Great gnocchi and they got the consistency right. Even though it's just on low heat and then they fire it up when you arrive, it's still really flavorful and hot the whole time. The vodka was terrific. Definitely a TON of food for $10. We shared and then were stuffed. read more

Come here. I tried the upper west side location and had the crab gnocchi. For $14 you get a full Chinese takeout container with pillowy, cheesy, gnocchi with crab throughout. It was so good I finished it in like 10 minutes before even getting to the park. The service is a bit slow but they are lovely and there's a small bench outside for eating and/or waiting. read more

I got the pesto gnocchi with burrata on top and it was so creamy. Served in a takeout box, it's the perfect grab and go lunch or dinner. Definitely ask for the burrata as it makes the flavor a bit less heavy. read more

Is it a pint of mouthwatering General Tso's chicken? No, it's a pint of gummy gnocchi with overly spiced and soupy sauce served in a Chinese takeout container. The sauce was meant to be vodka sauce but it was infused with heavy oregano flavor as if it got mixed up with a marinara sauce, so it was bad flavor and had a watery texture as well. The only positive was the fresh burrata on top which tasted sweet and creamy. The tiramisu was nothing special and overpriced. It's a nice concept, but the execution is sadly lacking. I ordered the truffle gnocchi! The shop was tiny, but there was a small area outdoors for seating. It was about $13 for a rather generous portion of pasta. They had several varieties of premade gnocchi, which they reheated upon ordering. Personally I found the sauce to be a little overwhelming and the addition of truffle powder on top was too much. For the price and convinence I'd give it 3 stars. I would be willing to try it again and maybe order a different flavor profile. read more

Literally so good I think I died. The black truffle cacio e pepe sauce, with burrata cheese was to die for. It is $18, but gnocchi anywhere else in NY will run you $30! The star of the show had to be the gnocchi black truffle cacio e Pepe but I was soooooooo let down with the gnocchi alla vodka :( it tasted like tomato sauce out of a can. So I was ready to never come here, but a friend wanted to check this place out and I do like gnocchi and wasn't looking for a big dinner so we decided to check it out. There's a few locations now, including on the UES. Got the pomodoro and honestly the sauce wasn't bad, and the gnocchi was better than I thought, despite knowing that it isn't made fresh or anything. In case you're curious, it's vegan as well, and as long as you get a sauce without cream and no parmesan cheese it's vegan. For the price, it's actually solid since it's around 10 bucks and is great for a light-ish dinner. So, serves a role, but not some place I would be running to. It's far from the best gnocchi in the city, but it's also far from being the worst. And the portable aspect to it is of course, cute. read more

Overall: I feel like the gnocchi here isn't anything super outstanding. It is an ok gnocchi, but the price is affordable and it is very accessible. Food: The gnocchi here is very standard. Similar to what you would get from a frozen pack at the grocery store. The sauce is a little more sophisticated, but not enough for me to want this over a frozen grocery store version. Gnocchi on 9th is a super aesthetic to-go only store that only sells gnocchi with a variety of classic pasta sauces. There is no seating inside, but there's a singular bench right outside of the store if you want to eat right away. There was zero wait on a weekend around 12:45 PM and the pros are that the food is very reasonably priced: just about 10 dollars for a quite a filling meal. Typically, a limited menu is a sign that the store's specialty will be delicious, but unfortunately, I would say this spot was a bit of a let down. The pictures I took won't do the food justice. Nice folks. Small place with just a small area to eat outside. For the price point, it's decent. Don't expect that this is a restaurant type of quality (don't mean that to sound harsh.. just that it's take out, and this isn't fine dining). If you're looking for a quick fix for gnocchi, give it a shot. It was a 3/5 for me. The hit for me was the tiramisu which is brought in from a local bakery. read more

The perfect place for a grab-n-go gnocchi meal! I love the simplicity of Gnocchi on 9th. The menu is simple and the idea is that it is a to-go spot so there is no seating. The different sauce options to add to the gnocchi are al pomodoro, alla vodka, pesto, and black truffle cacio e Pepe. You have the option to add fresh creamy burrata on top, which I highly recommend. They also offer gluten free gnocchi. The gnocchi is served in a white to-go container. They also have tiramisu for dessert. I had the gnocchi all vodka with the fresh burrata on top for $13. The gnocchi is served hot out of the pot. They are soft and fresh. The alla vodka was not a strong flavor but paired nicely with the gnocchi and burrata. The burrata adds a creaminess to the whole meal. The serving size was large enough that I couldn't finish my meal. Ive never had gnocchi before and am happy to say gnocchi on 9th was my first experience having it! We opted to try the vodka gnocchi with a burrata on top which came to be around 10bucks or so. The gnocchis texture was perfectly soft, pillowy and had a good amount of chew. The burrata added more texture and cheesiness- but its not really needed! Would def come back to try out their pesto one! read more

I was craving pasta and I came across Gnocchi on 9th. If you feel like eating gnocchi on the go, this place is it! There are some seats inside but it's quite small. After choosing your sauce, you can add red pepper flakes and some Parmesan on it. I do wish it was a little bit more saucy but I understand it's something to have quick and on the go. read more

So glad we came here! My local friend has been dying to go to this place and would not stop talking about it. We were finally able to make it here and it was worth the hype. The place is teeny tiny, like a little shack. It looks like those places you see where wannabe influencers come to film what they got and to rave about it. This time they are right though. We each got a different type of gnocchi. I love that you can upgrade with add-ons like burrata. Of all the ones we tried, my favorite was the black truffle cacio e pepe, with the alla vodka coming in second. They are beautifully soft and pillowy, and were well worth it. This spot is a perfect little hole in the wall that will hit all the right spots for your cravings! The service is quick as they've already got the gnocchi cooking. I like that you have the option of choosing your sauce along with a couple of extra add ons they offer as well. The staff was friendly and explained everything. Cool little place which I first saw on Instagram. We decided to stop for an afternoon snack. We tried the Gnocchi al Pomodoro and added burratta. So good! This is not a sit down place. The gnocchi comes in a takeaway food container (think of the white rice carton from a chinese restaurant). It was seriously enough for two people (depending upon how hungry you are). Pasta is served in front of you- the sauce and gnocchi are already prepared but still steaming hot. Gnocchi on 9th is great conceptually and the food is definitely decent. That said, it does taste like I could've made it at home with pre-made groceries from the store. Because New York is so generally overpriced, however, the price point here actually makes the food slightly worth it. Gnocchi, I absolutely LOVE gnocchi. Yes, I was influenced to come to Gnocchi on 9th thanks to TikTok, and you know what, I'm not even mad. Was it way over hyped than what it was, absolutely. What I expected and assumed: gnocchi was made fresh (the real dough and rolled). What I got: DeCecco gnocchi made fresh with a delicious pomodoro sauce. Look, I don't want to be that person, and yes, I'm picky (by picky I mean I like simple, fresh and natural) with tomato sauce. It was a tad garlic-y and had the Americanized touch BUT I wasn't mad. To be honest, I don't know why I expected something different. Here's what I now know: it's a DELICIOUS fast food gnocchi approach. It's made at the moment (not hand made but still fresh), it's a great concept. Your base gnocchi al pomodoro are only $10, somehow by adding burrata and tartufo we paid like $30 something for two gnocchi portions. Which again, I'm not even complaining or upset about. We got decent sized portions, the place is a to go place, you eat on the go and everyone that comes just wants to come for photos. Half the people that showed up only ordered 1 portion so they could take photos and videos with their friends. That's my only problem. If you're going to come here, ENJOY it. Take photos, take videos, share about them but enjoy the experience and the moment. Fast food gnocchi on the streets of NYC for $10+ a portion, that's pretty cool. read more

Whoever created that chunk of a wheel, kudos to them/company. By golly - that gargantuan of a wheel was so filled with calories - I kid you not, it almost converted me to being lactose intolerant! So if you're about to have triple bypass the next day, I do not recommend this joint until you're fully healed. Yes, the flavors were good, but the cheesey elements were just too too rich. You also cannot tell them to lessen it, it's just set the way they cook the pasta within that barrel. Otherwise, the decor/ambience was nice, and tidy aspects really show through. To drink, I got the Blood Orange Negroni for $17 with Hendricks gin, Campari, sweet vermouth, fresh blood orange juice, and a slice of orange as garnish. I usually prefer Negronis that lack Campari as I find that liquor to be a bit too sweet, at least as far as amaro goes, but this was tasty and better balanced as the juice and gin helped to reduce the sweetness. I would recommend it. They gave us some fresh bread with some good olive oil to begin with, which was tasty. Our only appetizer was the $18 Fried Trio, listed as a tempting mix of crispy fried goat cheese w/ honey & chili oil, carbonara arancini, and capers croquettes. This also came with some tomato sauce for dipping, presumably primarily for the arancini. My preference of the bunch was the fried goat cheese due to the bit of funk and spice. I also liked the arancini as the texture was nice, while my least favorite were the croquettes. This was a nice mix, though perhaps a bit salty. For main dishes, we got two pastas, which were both $19, and two entrees. My favorite of the entrees easily was the Mushroom & White Truffle Lasagna with shiitake, porcini, and cremini blend of mushrooms, béchamel sauce, truffle ricotta, and fresh mozzarella on top. Many lesser spots would mix all these things and make the dish a bit too earthy or almost perfumy from the truffle and mushroom flavor, but not this one. There was just enough of the béchamel and cheese that it was pretty balanced. The pasta texture was nice also. This was rich but delicious, and easily worth the price. I wasn't as big a fan, though that is more because of a caveat, of the Hot Rigatoni Vodka With Guanciale & Sausage, listed as rigatoni pasta in a creamy, spicy vodka sauce, paired with rich guanciale and spicy sausage. I generally prefer guanciale in dishes like pasta alla gricia rather than in already spicier tomato sauces, as I tend to find that the flavor doesn't shine through as much. Otherwise, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and there was plenty of meat inside. We liked both of the mains also. A slight preference goes to the Flounder a la Francese for $26, with lightly battered flounder pan-fried to golden perfection and finished with a delicate white wine and lemon butter sauce. It was a large piece of fish, and it was indeed tender with a light batter. There were plenty of capers, but it wasn't too salty, and the bit of pasta on the side was perfectly cooked as well. I would recommend this. Our last entree was the $34 Short Ribs With Polenta, consisting of tender, slow-braised short ribs over a creamy bed of polenta. The texture of the polenta was nice, and the short ribs were indeed tender, but not too fatty. This was the plainest of the entrees, but it was still tasty. This was a tasty Italian spot with quality food at reasonable prices. I would definitely go back.

You come here to put down the screen and enjoy the moment. So often do we rush through our coffees, or even bring them to meetings, at the beck and call of the city's hustle. But at Posto the kind, talented, customer-first team asks you to slow down and escape all of that, to savor every sip of coffee in the classic Italian style. Walking in feels more like a poem than a cafe. Gone are the transactional, disingenuous "how are you's" and instead you get to discover all sorts of fun barista (and bar) creations, Tuscan products, and fresh pasta. The servers and owner are always read to provide a recommendation, and like in Italian cafes, they bring whatever treats and drinks you land on to you. (My favorite aperol spritz is also from Posto.) This is such a New York thing, but if you're selling cocktails and groceries until the evening, running out of mortadella sandwiches is not the same as when Radio Bakery sells out by noon... Maybe it's me but I'm not particularly looking to get a plate of prosciutt and burrata with my coffee (which is what they had left), and the sandwiches here are supposed to be amazing and were the main reason why we chose this place. We had come here to co-work, but saw that there were no laptops allowed, not even in a specific window, just period. I take issue with this because for some of us, coffee shops are vital spaces not to get sucked into the void of our screens but to write, share ideas, and work in the company of our support system. The coffee I got was an Italian iced coffee with no milk and almond syrup, pretty good but a smallish portion. My friend's latte was white, and tasted like foamy milk with just a hint of espresso... very odd. Usually that cool pretentious European vibe results in delicious food and drink, so I expected to be blown away, but it was just okay. Some of the higher-up staff are quite snippy, doesn't seem like the kind of place where if you're a regular people know your name and want to chat. The accusatory sign in the bathroom really says it all. The best part of this place is the gorgeous back patio, but it's harder to enjoy it when you've walked into a place that already makes you feel like you don't belong there, implying you're a toilet-clogging laptop addict who doesn't know any coffee lingo. I could see stopping in to pick up some fresh pasta and grabbing a cappuccino to go, but what's the fun in that?

We were sat in the rear of the place but I noticed it gave me sushi place vibes with a high top bar area for place setting seating as well as tables. We put in bruschetta and meatballs as starters. The bruschetta was good but the bread was hard as a rock. Way over toasted for me- I like to have more give when you bite into the crust of the toasted bread. Still good. Meatballs were solid as well - thinner red sauce than I would like but still very good. For my entree, I ordered the cacio e Pepe which was served with tonnarelli pasta (spaghetti to me). Flavor was very good - a little extra sauce like I prefer, and just a very good pasta dish. I ordered the amaretto cheesecake for dessert which was really disappointing as a cheesecake person - it was more of a flan, non-bake small puck-shaped item, and I really didn't taste amaretto at all, served with raspberry puree also didn't help. Still good, just not what I expected. We had a waitress who was very nice, she admitted her English wasn't the best but she still was nice and attentive. Would recommend here.

The lava cake was the perfect size and didnt leave you feeling obese after eating a full italian meal. Only thing that was difficult to navigate was the table size for the things we ordered as well as the staff literally rolling full outdoor trashcans through the eating area as our food was literally being brought over from the open kitchen window. Our server was kind and all people asked how everything was and thanked us for coming in. The food was also served fast, too.

He noticed that we were trying to eat on top of the singular tin foil, so he brought out a plate so we wouldn't have to eat uncomfortably. We visited on a weekday around noon and there wasn't anyone dining in except us.
