What a great little pasta spot in the east village. This is inexpensive , quick and all pasta dishes made to order. Great for anyone who's on the move...which is pretty much all New Yorkers. I simply love the fact you have a nice variety of toppings and sauces to choose from and the staff really take their craft to heart. Definitely a gem worth checking out.

Pasta Rullo is a fast casual pasta place in the East Village that serves freshly-made pasta. it's a cozy modern looking interior, brightly lit and a limited amount of seats. when i was there, the main food choices are either gnocchi Alfredo or fettuccine Alfredo for dine in or takeout. you can add additional sauces, veggies, or proteins at an additional cost for each item added. my takeout order: Fettuccine Alfredo with Walnut Pesto Sauce and Roasted Chicken. watched as the fettuccine came out of the manual pasta maker, went into boiling water to cook, then tossed into a cheese wheel to get Alfredo sauced, topped with Walnut Pesto sauce and roasted chicken. so yeah your order is cooked fresh in front of you...no shortcuts, but my order didn't take that long. my food was packed neatly to go. service was pretty chill as it seems to be a one-man operation. my food was warm even after a short walk home. thought the pasta tasted fine and i was glad i added the walnut pesto for more flavor and the chicken to make it more filling as the serving of pasta is fairly small. this is a good option if you want a small meal and don't want to cook, but not sure this portion size would be a great option if you were superhungry. still a nice option to have in the neighborhood.

Did not know too much about Pasta Rullo before my visit but happy that I tried it. I got the fettuccine Alfredo and added lime to it which I thought complimented the pasta perfectly. What sets this place apart is the pasta is VERY affordable. Kudos to Pasta Rullo offering these prices ($11) in these costly times. My only slight criticism is that the options are overwhelming. You can different sauces and toppings to your gnocchi or fettucine Alfredo. I think it would have been very helpful for a bit more guidance on what toppings make the most sense with a particular pasta. But that is just my opinion. Overall, I enjoyed my pasta at that price it was a steal.

While walking to pick up my kids from school, I stumbled upon Pasta Rullo, a small, cozy spot tucked away in the middle of the block. It was such a happy surprise! The space is intimate, with about six stools if you want to stay and enjoy your meal there. Burak, the chef , is incredibly nice and welcoming. Unlike the man on the register. Burak talent in the kitchen is undeniable. The pasta is made fresh every single day, giving every dish a wonderfully authentic and homemade touch. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with roasted chicken, and it was absolutely delicious--rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. I also loved their eco-friendly approach, with biodegradable utensils and plates. Pasta Rullo is a hidden gem that's definitely worth checking out!

Are you going to the Joyce for a wonderful evening of dance ?…read more Do you prefer a location close by ? Is inexpensive Italian food a preferred choice ? If you answered "yes" to all three, then Fumo is a place to seriously consider. The restaurant is bright and comfortable. The service is fast and attentive. The menu has lots of excellent choices. The portions are generous. The prices are very reasonable. There you go ! Fumo is for you, (at least the Chelsea location) is for you. Any drawbacks ? youi ask.....well, yes, there is one, and it should be cosnidered. The restaurant is so so so popular that the noise level can be a bit ..... shall we say "daunting." Fumo is a great place but if you want a soft, quiet place to have a serious conversation, maybe save it for another time....

This means those dishes aren't truly gluten free for people with celiac disease or anyone who has to avoid gluten. When I pointed that out to my server, he just gave me a blank stare. I tried to explain why labeling those items as gluten free is misleading, but he seemed completely disinterested, even annoyed, dismissed what I was saying, and simply responded that the pasta is gluten free. I acknowledged that the server doesn't write the menu, but absolutely zero customer service skills. The service overall was lacking. Aside from taking our order, no one checked on us or came back to see if we needed anything. Our server was just hanging out chatting up the hostess. We had to request the bill from the manager & paid at the hostess stand. Before paying, I spoke with the manager and explained what had occured. He was more professional than the server, but he was still dismissive of my concerns and of the service we received. Management seemed happy enough to promote the "option". The food was okay, definitely not enough to make up for the poor service and handling of a serious dietary issue. Needless to say I will not be returning.

The ricotta based cheese cake wasn't as smooth as the cream cheese form but the citrus flavor was great. It works especially well for a mixed group since they have plenty of options including dishes without meat and everyone can find something. Even my picky niece and nephew were happy.
