I want to start by saying that Pasek Cellars make a wonderful group of wines and I highly recommend any one of them. My complaint is with the staff at the tasting room. I was really excited to introduce my sister to Pasek wine and we stopped at the tasting room on our way up to a family event. This was on a Saturday afternoon. We hadn't seen each other in a while so we were laughing and joking, but not loud or obnoxious. There were two other women tasting wines at the time. Our horrible experience was with the British gentleman. He was extremely pompous and decided that we shouldn't be drinking. We were given sample pours (I had four) that barely covered the bottom of the glass and when I asked my sister which wine she would like a glass of, he told me that he didn't feel comfortable serving us and proceeded to give us directions to the pub down the street, unless we were feeling "uptown", at which point we could go to a different pub. Then, he filled a goblet with water and pushed it towards me and stared at me while I drank it! I was so humiliated. First, the fact that he decided we didn't deserve full samples was a bit irritating, however, not that big of a deal. But to decide not to serve us a glass of wine at a winery and to send us to a competitor was ridiculous. We hadn't been drinking, we weren't offensive, and we didn't need to be told that we should drink our wine like we drink our beer - cold. We were two women who work too often to get together as much as we would like so we were happy and laughing. We were polite and conversational and we had already told him we were buying wine but wanted to try something different as we wanted to take a couple extra bottles to our event. We won't be back....EVER....nor will we send anyone there. I bought a bottle of wine for a gift and we quietly left. On the way out, he once again reminded us of the "downtown" pub location "unless we felt uptown". To the woman working with him on Saturday, May 21- best of luck. I have now been to the tasting room in Conway. Although tasting was not necessary because I've already tried all their wines, I did stop and pick up a few bottles and the service was fantastic. (After I announced my desire to purchase a case, Hmmm...) The gals working were friendly and promptly boxed up my purchases and even offered to help me carry them to my car. Late Harvest Viognier from Pasek Cellars is currently my favorite wine, after discovering it in their tasting room. They offer free wine tasting, 11-5 every day. They offer full-fruit wines including Blackberry, Raspberry, and Pineapple (which, incidentally, would be great with ham), as well as dessert wines which are fortified with brandy (very sweet, thick wines). Their wines start at around $10 a bottle, and they have a nice attached gift shop that sells wine accessories. Exit on the I-5 "Lake McMurray" exit and go west just a little bit, then turn north (right) onto Fir Island Road, and the tasting room is in the big barn immediately after the turn. read more

I think I'm reviewing the correct Pasek wine-tasting room... Anyway, tasting is free! and I always purchased a dozen bottles every year. The late harvest viognier is my absolute favorite of the Pasek collection. It's one of those wines that taste better the sooner you drink it (rather than aging it). I like dessert wines that also have a stronger alcohol taste, so I also recommend the syrah port blend. Wines are affordable but the low cost doesn't compromise the taste! If you're on your way to the Tulip festival in April, make sure to drop by one of the Pasek tasting rooms. read more

We have a Tulip Festival getaway weekend every year to enjoy the flowers and the street fair. This year we added a stop to the Pasek Cellars tasting room and are we glad we did! The wine was delicious, the staff knowledgible and very friendly and even though there was quite a crowd there, they managed to take care of everyone. We couldn't make up our mind about which we liked the best, so we bought a case! I can't wait to serve the Arabica dessert wine -- it was delicious! read more

Truely enjoyable little tasting room. No convenient seeting so it's not a stay and enjoy type of place but the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The shop was bright and welcoming. And the wine is exceptional. Distinct from anything you've had before. The blackberry is like summer in your mouth, the cranberry bright and tart and likely the best of the bunch, and the passion fruit sends you stating to the tropics. read more

Wow. I hate to burst the bubble but this place is not cute, or charming, or good. We stopped by after wandering the tulip fields (as did lots of other people) and immediately noticed the two best things about Pasek- the tasting is free and the staff is super friendly and way above competent. The tasting includes pours of all of their wines offered some 15 or so, mostly fruit wines. Such a large tasting flight was overwhelming for the senses and because most of the wines themselves are sweet, upsetting to the stomach. They would do better to offer each visitor one free smaller flight (grape wines, tropical fruits, berries, or desserts). I was not a fan of their wines but found most palatable, if terribly sweet. And the bottle prices are totally reasonable. During such a large tasting I got a chance to look around the tasting room a bit. As opposed to the other reviewers I found the items for sale cheesy, Most egregious was that Pasek, the official winery of the Tulip Festival (and carrying a "Tulip Festival Red") had a large bouquet of FAKE TULIPS on display. The lack of judgement and good taste that led to that decision made me question everything else about Pasek. read more

I am visiting my family from San Diego and stopped in here with my mom on the way back home from the Tulip festival. The wine was absolutely incredible we ended up buying 7 bottles! The fruit wines were incredible and actually made 100% from the type of fruit they are instead of from grapes. The two women working there were so sweet and so nice and incredibly friendly. The wines average $12 a bottle and are extremely affordable! I would recommend this winery to all of my friends and family and we will definitely be going back! read more

My friend and I were out wine tasting. Another winery suggested that we try Pasek. I like sweet wines...Muscatto. So, we stopped for a wine tasting...asked how much it was and were pleasantly surprised that it was free. The lady helping us was very professional. Explained that the wines on the menu had to be tasted in a certain order for the palette. Excellent sweet wines. I bought 4 bottles and will return for another tasting. read more

We enjoy their wine first off but.....Drove all the way up here because it says tasting room daily from 11-5. We got here right at 11 and no one was here. Walk past their window which still has 11-5 on it and then the front door says 11:30-5. Ok no big deal went and drove up the road for a bit got back here at 11:30 and still no one here to open up shop. All information listed everywhere says 11-5 unsure if they have now changed their times. Their wine is great but this is not good business. A couple other people were also here waiting but have since left. read more

To be honest I am not normally compelled to write a review on a business unless it is either phenomenal or awful. Unfortunately this was an AWFUL belittling experience. The place was empty which was no problem. We walked in and saw a sign that stated 16 complimentary tastings which covers all of the menu. Not that we would have tried everything.. but the server proceeded to tell us there were no set rules but she would "let" us have 5 or so each since we had a driver (which is none of her concern considering we're 4 grown women) because she didn't want us to "pass out" in our vehicle on the drive back to Seattle. Slightly off-putting but we continued anyway. She started a pleasant conversation with us nevertheless. We all actually shared a few samples and then ordered a glass. I chose one of the dessert wines (16%) as opposed to one of the grape wines (11%). The server then proceeded to tell me I could have 1/2 the amount due to the alcohol level.. same price of course. How completely condescending?! I should have been done then but took it anyway. I decided I wanted a second while we sat and chatted and told her I'd prefer the regular size serving. She let me know she'd NEVER had somebody come back for a 2nd glass of wine. I couldn't believe my ears at that. Then she proceeded to tell me she could have her "server's license" taken away. LADY.. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?? You served me 2.5 oz! Am I getting 86'd from a wine room after 15 minutes???? Lol.. Pretty sure I am. Needless to say we left upset and will never be back. It was like she was making up her own rules as she went along...??? I can only hope the owner sees this and deals with it properly. The server overstepped her boundaries in a major way.. insulted us all and essentially took money out of the owners pocket. What a shame because the wine was different and a nice stop on or way back from the Tulip Festival. read more
