One of the main reasons we decided to stop at Tulip Valley Winery was because they're dog friendly. And not just "tie your pup outside to a post" dog friendly they let our furry babies roam with us inside the tasting room and out on the patio like true VIPs (Very Important Pups) and even bring out water bowls for them. Highly recommend stopping by if you're looking to relax with a glass of wine or cider, enjoy a chill lunch, and hang with your four legged crew. Pro tip Stella Sopra, one of the best Italian food trucks or Italian food in general we've ever encountered is parked right on the property. Delicious handmade pasta plus good wine equals the kind of afternoon we all deserve. The staff here is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They took their time walking us through all the wines and sharing the stories behind them. We ended up walking away with a bottle of rosé Tempranillo and a beautifully aged 2014 Tempranillo hands down one of the best reds I've had all year. We were honestly shocked in the best way that a flight of four wines plus a full glass for my husband came out to under $20 talk about incredible value for quality pours or maybe were so used to crazy Seattle pricing! There's indoor seating, but if the weather's nice, grab a spot on the patio or in the front area with your dogs and soak in the peaceful vineyard vibes. I could see the patio filling up fast during peak times, but we visited during a slower hour and loved that no one rushed us people were coming and going, and we were free to sip, snack, and stay awhile. I wasn't the biggest fan of the ciders, but their wines were definitely worth the visit. It's a smaller operation, but that's part of the charm. Nice deck, nice parking lot, nice pit stop during a tulip outing. Most of the COVID-19 protocol is good in terms of distancing and two staff masked up. One staff member had her mask down over her nose and did not readjust it up at any point. The wine is $5 for 3 which is totally reasonable. Except, the wine is really not great, at all. I swung into Tulip Valley Winery on my last trip to Mount Vernon. This winery also makes cider and that was what I was really looking for. When I went here they just had one of their ciders for sale which was a Harvest Blend kind of cider. I had a sample there and liked it well enough that I got a bottle of it to have at home. The setup here is cute. It has a rustic setting and is out in the country (relatively speaking) and the winery is located in an old and restored barn which gave the experience to me a pleasant quaintness. The service here was good, prompt and very informative about their products. I would like to come back in the future and try some of their wine options. read more

We went here years ago, and were pretty underwhelmed, but we are looking for venues for our wine-tasting club, so we gave it another try. Nice farmstead vibe with the red barn and surrounded by orchards. The person behind the counter was super-friendly, but I knew we were in trouble when I asked what AVA the grapes were from, and she gave us a very confused look. She knows they come from Washington. I tried three reds, and, sadly, didn't even finish my tastes. My wife had the Chardonnay, a Rose' and a Rose' Cider. The Rose' was actually not bad. Everyone has different taste buds, and you may enjoy these wines, we sure wish we did. read more

Do yourself a favor and stop by the Tulip Valley Winery. They make a wide range of wine and cider and are always experimenting with new varieties. We loved the Tempranillo red and rose, as well as the rose cider, and can't wait until the rose perry arrives. The location is lovely, with the mountains in the distance. This was a wonderful experience on a blustery Saturday afternoon. We had already had a nice experience at a nearby brewery so we had to give equal time to a local winery. Glad we did because the wines were very good. Generous pours that were $5 for 4. Pinot Grigio. Riesling Syrah. 2014 Tempranillo. All extremely enjoyable. Cute little winery on the way to the tulip festival. They offer some cute wine accessories- coasters, kitchen towels, magnets, fudge made with their own cider (delicious- tastes like apple pie). We did the wine flight, which was $5 for 5 tastes, your choice. Tons of options- rose, lots of whites, reds and two ciders. If you buy a bottle, you get a wine flight comped. We ended up going home with some fudge and a bottle of there Burro Loco cider. We were the only people there when we went, but it could get crowded if there were more than 10 people in there. Tulip Valley Vineyard is a great place to stop on a lovely spring day on your way to (or from) the tulip festival (or when just taking a road trip to Skagit County). For $5 you get a generous tasting of five wines of your choice - and they have several to choose from. My favorite is their riesling and their viogner. They also had reds to choose from if you're a fan. The service is friendly and helpful, and their prices (most bottles $15 or less) are quite reasonable. The setting in an old converted barn also adds to the charm of this place. You could easily bring a picnic to enjoy the setting to its fullest. The tasting room in a barn is kinda cutesy but it provides an immediate and significant reminder that you are in farm country, not wine country. S ome of the ciders were intriguing but the wines were meh. What ruined the experience for me was the nickel-and-dime tasting policy. I had no intention of paying to taste. But, as we talked about the wines with our server, she offered to pour us something she thought we'd like. How nice--I thought. As we were checking out, she told the cashier to charge us $1 for it. Why would you charge us for something we didn't order? Especially given that we were making purchases. Rather than argue, I paid the $1 and looked forward to warning others off of this place. Go to Pasek instead: better wines, better service and no tasting fee. read more

The $1 per taste thing is kind of a joke- especially if you buy their product! I bought a couple of bottles here, but still paid around $8 extra for the extra wines/ciders my husband and I tasted. I really liked the Riesling, and it was VERY affordable so I asked to buy a bottle of it. After driving an hour and a half to get home, I open the bag to find a bottle of Gewurztraminer, which I didn't even taste there. Bummer. =( The rose was decent, and I did buy (and receive!) a bottle of that one. But I won't be back here anytime soon. read more

So nice! It's too bad the previous 2 yelpers had such a bad experience because mine was exactly the opposite. I tasted all of their hard ciders (5-6) and got multiple generous pours...all for free. Had I wanted to try the wines, I know they would have been poured (for free). Their sign specifically says that the first 3 tastes are free, and then more pours after that are a $1 unless you buy something in which case all pours are free. The man pouring for us was totally awesome and friendly & took the time to ask about our tastes & made suggestions for us based off of that. I ended up getting the Sweetie Pie & the yearly Tulip Festival blend hard ciders...so freaking delicious. Their cider goes down so easily, and soooo deliciously. I really liked Tulip Valley Vineyard. Considering that most of the other wineries I stopped at were $10-12 for five samples, their $5 for five generous samples seemed pretty great. The Red Barn Red was absolutely terrific (so I bought a couple of bottles). They had two ciders the day we were there and I adored both of them. I did not dislike any of their offerings, and I especially loved that we bought two bottles so we got our samples for free. I also loved that their prices were very reasonable for the wine quality. This is a great little country vineyard and orchard, so I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area! read more

Hubby and I have been looking for the Red Barn Sweetie Pie Cider for a very long time now, ever since he tried it at the Kenmore Brew Festival last summer. We finally were up here trying to drown our sorrows away after spending a ridiculous amount of money at the outlets, and it took us a long time to find. When you google "Red Barn Ciders" you get just that, and so while we were driving around looking for "Red Barn Ciders" it took us a while to realize (and after a few drive bys) that it was actually Tulip Valley Vineyard. After spending an hour looking for the place, we got there. We go inside and the lady is super nice, and is very generous in her pours as we taste a few different wines and a few ciders. We already knew that we were buying a few bottles of the Sweetie Pie so I don't think she bothered to tell us that they charge for tastes if you don't buy anything. I also got a bottle of their 2010 off dry reisling. I tried their Red Barn Red wine and it was too dry for me; it was a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, and a mix of Merlot. She was also really good about letting us know where we might be able to find the Sweetie Pie (as well as the other ciders) down closer to us in Lynnwood. I also asked if they are able to ship bottles directly to us, and they are but their shipping prices are steep, plus they have handling fees. read more

We stumbled here are accident and so glad we did. Some of the most unquie and sweet wines. Usually I am not a sweet wine drinker, but the rose here is so different and so good for any thing else. Also the GEWURZTRAMINER and MEDIUM RIESLING are just lovely as well. Great little stop! read more

Stopped by this winery on a vacation in early May. The place was closed, but the owner came out and was kind enough to let us in and give a tasting. This place is great. We found it on our way to LaConner and decided to stop for a fun wine tasting. They offer 5 complementary tastings and specialize in fruit and sweeter wines. The best one was an Arabica dessert wine, it has a sweet coffee taste, quite the treat. I'm not usually a Chardonnay fan but they had a very unique one and we ended up buying a bottle (it was only $12). To top it off there was a wonderfully friendly British man working behind the counter and we had a lovely conversation while enjoying our tasting. We will stop by again before heading back home!
